Looking For Them Gains (Nobo)

Duncan couldn't help but continue to hear in his mind the words of that man over and over. The Age of Tau... what kind of psychopath would desire such a thing? Despite having felt like he maintained a relatively decent physique while locked up, he still felt rusty and far from ready for true combat against any threat to the village. It was a shame, for at one point he was a fearsome warrior that instilled fear in his enemies and inspired his allies to new heights. Those days felt like forever ago now, yet he could feel deep down that if he tried hard enough he could reclaim some of that and regain his honor. He was no longer the young man he once was, but he was still far from an age where he had to worry about his body not being able to keep up with any demands he placed on it. 

It was around midday, the sun high overhead but hidden away by clouds. Finding himself standing in the training facility, he couldn't help but grin. It might not be as difficult to get back into shape as he originally thought. Hell, who knows to what heights he would have climbed if resources like this were granted to the shinobi forces in his youth. Various shinobi were here training, their focus and determination showcasing their desire to grow strong and climb the ranks. Most were much earlier in their years, youth granting them what seemed like limitless energy to the giant of a man. Duncan would make his way over to an area all to himself. He didn't feel like training with children right now, especially if he was going to have to push himself to get into battle shape.  Finding a large boulder, Duncan would take some rope and create a harness of sorts, tying the massive rock to his body. He would then make his way over to the area with water for training the Surface Walking technique. Such a technique was already mastered by the experienced warrior, but having to focus and control once chakra so delicately while also squatting a large boulder should provide a reasonable warm up to any real workout he was going to find himself doing today.

Ren was once again wandering the village looking into somewhere he could fight. He had been assigned a string of missions, and, with them completed, he had plenty of funding for his monthly rent. So now it was time to get his hands dirty. His fight with Aura had left him craving something a bit more fun. He also didn't want to run into some ninjutsu user as an opponent again. That had messed him up enough. A good old fashioned fist fight like the one's he'd been having during his years in the academy and the short time he fought nameless criminal goons who came into his section of the charred forest.

He often ignored Kumo's many arena, but today he made his way to the advanced training facility. This was the last stop on his morning amble around town. He figured if he didn't find a decent looking opponent he could work on his "techniques" or whatever the muscly man spoke of before. The place would certainly hold quite a few ninja. One was bound to be a physical fighter. 

Hmmm Let's see what wee have here... He looked around the grounds and notice quite a few shinobi mostly of the younger varied, but it didn't take very long for him to find the large statuesque man who was hefting a large rock and standing on the surface of the water. It seemed he'd separated himself from other people in the grounds as well.

Perfect~Ren's eyes lit up That guy's huge! He waded through the training grounds towards him attempting to lock eyes with him. He wasn't trying to be stealthy at all he beelined for the man. You look like you're positively made of muscle~ You're the Taijutsu type right? Fight me! It was a simple request. Ren had learned to ask his opponent if they were Taijutsu users since that was what he wanted. No longer would he be fooled by those who were simply muscular. However, It seemed like this guy was practicing the surface walking technique. Building chakra perhaps? testing his surface walking? or maybe just a very new shinobi?... Ren quickly mused about what the man's intentions were, but it didn't matter to him. He started to stretch his arms and legs while he awaited a response. His bones crackling as he limbered up.

It was training time, not the typical routine of simple workouts and routines that any Shinobi did in their lives but it was finally time to make his way to the Training Fields and do some more specialized training to focus on learning more about how to use the 8 Gates properly. Karro was ready to get the body moving and his blood pumping as he had put his hair into a ponytail to keep it out of his face and made his way across the Village to enter the Training Fields that were for all Shinobi of the village, though there was a sectioned off area that was only for those of the elite force of the village but Karro didn’t need anything like that and was just happy to be able to spend the day going in depth on his training. Whatever he was able to put towards him growing stronger and make his life easier for future missions and the like.

“Now where is a more open area of the fields?” He asked no one in particular as he scanned the training area, there were rock climbing areas, obstacle courses and a variety of other things that people could use to help them on different types of training and there was even a massive open area that was surrounded by forest and overgrowth by this large field was a river that flowed through the whole place. It was there that Karro made his way over for his own training upon arriving into the area he watched a man that dwarfed the already small ninja pick up a massive boulder and begin to walk out into the river. “Surface walking training.” Karro muttered to himself as he thought of why the person would want to do that, though he later reasoned that normal Surface walking on water already took a good amount of control and focus doing it with such a massive weight would force you to your limit on those areas quickly. “I suppose that would be a decent way of doing it.” Karro nodded his head as he saw the logic in the workout then he noticed another person approaching the giant man with the rock and it seemed this person was closer to Karro’s age and for some reason to the young shinobi they felt familiar.
 
Karro approached the two to listen in what they were talking about and it seemed like the younger one was trying to get a fight going and talking about Taijutsu. Something about his mannerisms seemed to remind Karro of his own family and Clan. The Kaguya loved to fight for both fun and honor, the legends of the clan spoke of those who were berserkers of sorts when they got onto the battlefield. “You know you shouldn’t just randomly challenge people you see right when they are in the middle of training.” Karro spoke to the boy. “Though if we are competing with Taijutsu, I’d be up for that.” Karro said with a smile on his face.

Duncan would get a few sets of reps in to try and work up a sweat, making certain to focus on not only his chakra control but also his form while squatting the boulder. There was another that approached, an unusual sort that seemed interested in getting in a bit of sparring practice in. The giant of a man would halt his exercise, giving the energetic youth that approached him a look up and down. noticing the sharp features and scars along the young man's face. The signs of a warrior, markings showing that he was battle hardened like many of the Kumo shinobi were. He mentioned that Duncan had to be a taijutsu specialist due to his sheer size and muscle mass. While that wasn't entirely true, he was a martial expert all the same. He just preferred to use weapons as an extension of himself and wear a skin of steel instead of just limiting himself to his natural born body. He had some experience with Taijutsu, and he was more than happy to get some more rigorous practice in. 

Another would soon approach after, mentioning that the first newcomer shouldn't distract a fellow shinobi from their training. Duncan would offer a quick nod, "I've no issue getting a proper workout in." He would offer in reply, only to see an approaching figure that would send waves of inspiration coursing throughout his whole body. Duncan would immediately recognize the all too familiar outfit, that of the Lord Raikage of Kumogakure. The man standing before them held status that they all should recognize and honor. The behemoth would bend to a knee, maintaining his chakra control in order to remain atop the water. Hopefully the two others would show at least some respect for the authority this man before them had held. 

It seemed as though the Raikage wanted to take a direct role in the training exercise, mentioning that the three of them would all be working together to practice in combat against him. Such was a particular treat, for there were none in the village that would be able to enhance their training than the Lord Raikage. 

"You grace us with your presence and honor us with the privilege, Lord Raikage." The large man would offer in reply, thrilled at the opportunity to see the current Raikage in action. Duncan would rise, readying himself for what he expected to be the fight of his life. If he had been in his prime, he might have been able to keep up with a combatant such as a Raikage, but with all of this rust he had accrued this battle would be a real struggle. Duncan would look to see what the other two did. Would they accept such a lofty challenge?

Ren clicked his tongue at the shorter..guy?... Whatever... The pale person next to him had approached and admonished him for speaking with the giant man. They seemed familiar in a way that he hadn't felt before. He was certain they'd never met, but something about them was similar to himself. At least they seemed amenable to a fight. The giant muscled man was also down to clown. See he's fine with it short stack...If you wanna go too then... He started to speak when he heard someone approaching the group from behind. Even Ren, in his all powerful ambivalence to authority that wasn't himself, would recognize the man with the funny hat. The Raikage... Ren knew very little about the Raikage, but he did know this he was the strongest in the village. From the way he talked and the reverence the giant gave him Ren could tell at a glance he was the type of guy he'd want to fight. A wicked grin spread across his face and he immediately started weaving hand signs. Hearing the man invite all three of them, filled him with such pleasure. he couldn't stop himself from charging straight in even though he'd already learned that wasn't always the best idea with powerful opponents. His body electrified and his tenketsu points opened in one side of brain. Those who could sense chakra could tell he had opened the very first gate. 

Ren finally bent his legs before surging forward all smiles. Yes, sir Lord Raikage~ Even though he had said the words in a monotone fashion the excitement and brightness was unmistakable. He would close the distance and try to land a normal punch on the man from his straight forward angle. He had learned his lesson from the first time he charged a kage level opponent. He had his defensive technique read along with a surprise when he was inevitably sent backwards. He would use the bones he now had some control over to send forth an attack with the technique alder from his ribcage if his punch failed to connect or at least that was his plan. A straight punch and ten electrified bone spikes from an unexpected place. Let's see the difference between a deputy and a kage! His thoughts were filled with the wonders of violence.

It seemed the giant on the water holding the massive boulder was fine with the random person bugging them for a spar during training which was surprising to Karro but the more he thought about it the more he realized what village this was. Everyone liked to fight, guess Karro just enjoyed doing his training alone when possible. Karro didn’t have time to shrug or walk away as a man approached the trio of shinobi, Karro instantly knew who the man was as would any Kumo Ninja worth their weight in salt would. It was the Lord Raikage Noboru Kaito, and he had just told them to come at him. “Yes sir.” Karro replied without hesitation as he watched the other two prepare their moves with Ren moving ahead first to attack.

While Ren did that Karro activated the The Gate of Opening enhancing his strength and speed by +50. Once this was done Karro would then begin to channel the chakra needed to grow his bones correctly for Claws of Bones having two of the claws form on his fists with the last one growing out of his forearm at a 45 degree angle away from his fist to act as improtu arm guard if needed. Karro was waiting to see how the first interaction would go with Ren and was starting to move his bones as needed to start the Kaguya Technique of Armor of Bone.

The Raikage stood at a distance of 25 meters from Duncan. The giant would quickly make his way off of the water, his own inability to utilize it in any meaningful way made in nothing more than a liability since he hadn't been fully aware of what all the Raikage was capable of. The large man wasn't too far out, only a mere 5 meters from the shore and so he'd make his way over to relatively solid ground (the sand), all the while untying the boulder from his back during the travel. It was still secured in the rope, and how he had it now it could be used as a makeshift weapon of sorts. The boulder was three meters in diameter, secured to a rope that had about 7 meters of extra to work with. While he did this, the others would also begin their offensive efforts in this exercise. 

Duncan would witness what could only be said as pure, unbridled ferocity as the one that wanted to challenge him originally had made a mad dash to the Raikage and immediately aimed to launch attacks at the man. The Raikage didn't seem concerned at all. Their capable leader would have no issues defending, though Duncan was more intrigued by the techniques he was witnessing from these two Kumo shinobi. Both seemed to be able to manipulate their very skeletal structure, weaponizing it in a way that came as a surprise to the giant. The bloodline this pair had at their disposal was one that was fairly uncommon and one that he had little experience with firsthand. He had heard rumors of such capabilities, but seeing them in action it was pretty impressive. 

The Raikage now stood only just shy of 20 meters from the giant, and Duncan would lumber his way over, aiming to put only 9 meters of distance between the two. His speed was practically nothing compared to that of the others it would seem, but perhaps the speed difference wouldn't play much of a factor. The agreesive Kaguya that started things off seemed to make a direct approach, and the other was off to the side opposite of the giant and now several meters stood between Duncan and the more cautious Kaguya. 

Should Duncan get to his new position, the Raikage would be on the large man's right as was the aggressive Kaguya. With a mighty swing, Duncan would launch the boulder in an upwards arc, an attempt to drop the rock right on top of the kage, positioned in such a way that he overshot the attack by a bit which meant that the center mass of the object wasn't going to be what would make contact. This would hopefully allow the aggressive one the room he needed to both not get caught in the attack but also possibly work towards a combination effort to land a blow against the superior shinobi.
