New day new mission. Today Madara had to help with some kind of demolition project. She had no idea why she of all people was given this mission. It was called “building blow up” which was exactly not what she was about. She read more into it and it looked like she and some other shinobi were just going to help take down a building and clean up the mess. She assumed that she would be more a part of the “clean up the mess” part.
Madara was of course, paired up with other shinobi at around her level. She met up with them at the destruction building site. Before she could even get a word out, the thirteen year old teammate of hers pushed her to the ground with surprising strength and waddled off like some kind of evil demon. The other teammate was nowhere to be found, and the last teammate just stood there and cried. What a baby. Well, this is what she got for being a genin as an adult. Madara squinted her eyes and looked around but she knew this place a lot less than the workers did.
She couldn’t see anything, but she could hear the sense something sneaking around in another room. She was going to deal with that one first. She ran over and scooped a stray dog up before she put her fingers where they didn’t belong and then ran back to grab some of its pups. They both were held in her arms so she tied them with some fabric to a lamp post a block away. They weren’t getting away anytime soon. And if they did, she would simply tie them up again so that they didn’t get into any more trouble.
Madara turned around and saw that people were going around and setting up explosives. Then she saw one of her teammates running after some kids. Kids? What were kids doing in this place? It was due to blow within the hour? It turns out the foreman had brought his kids to watch and they were now getting in the way. Madara groaned and started to look for the kids, hey what could be so hard about handling such a young kid? The next thing she knew was that she was on her side, coughing, her sweat marking the ground. She couldn’t believe that a kid could be this strong. The overwhelming power that he possessed was enough to force her to her knees. Now she knew what to expect, she need to control this one’s actions or she’d be just like this. A strong hand was placed on her head. her eyes dropping, but she forced to stay awake. A fijre burned within her, her body feeling like lead, her head was swimming with starts and bright colors due to the loss of consciousness and now she need to force herself to fight back with this kid.
She acted quickly and swiftly. She swept the seven year old off his feet and tied him up like the dogs earlier. “Okay you bunch,” she announced, “since nobody here wants to behave, you’re all going to sit there tied up until it’s time to eat. Then, after lunch we are going to take a nap. Is that clear?” They all whined and hollered but it wasn’t like they could do anything about it. Madara had been perfectly fine just supervising these kids but they had been a hassle so she was done with them.
The three sat there, just as bored as the kids until lunch came then they fed them by hand. It wasn’t like there was much to talk about. As much as these three might have looked like friends, there was a much different dynamic. The new teammates didn’t really have anything to say because they hadn’t really lived for very long. And of course they knew that Madara had some control over their actions because she older. Madara hadn’t invested hardly any time into them so replacing them would be nothing but a mere afterthought in the grand scheme of things.
Back on topic, the eldest child simply refused to eat, so Madara was going to let her sit there hungry until she complied. The younger ones were easier to force feed. Madara knew all about forcing stuff down into a human throat so it was easy for her to make the kids eat. Then she just sat there. Feeding only took thirty minutes and they had an hour until nap time. Eventually the eldest got hungry and asked for food so Madara fed her as well. None of them had managed to wiggle free, so Madara was somewhat satisfied with how things were going.
Madara looked over her shoulder when a loud BOOM resounded throughout the area. The building had finally been detonated. Thankfully she’d put the vulnerable out of harm’s way. She could go help clean up after the dust settled. Nap time came and Madara ordered the kids all to sleep. None of them listened and just continued to squirm around. Madara couldn’t blame them because she had tied them vertically and it was pretty hard to just fall asleep like that. She had her teammates take them one by one and put them on a bed before strapping them down snugly. There was no way they were getting out of this binding of hers. Madara laughed maniacally as they squirmed around even more and she turned off the lights. It was time to take her own nap. God supervising these kids had been a headache. She couldn’t imagine what it would have been like if she had let the roam free and do whatever they wanted all day. Madara plopped down right next to them on this monstrously huge bed and took a nap, ignoring the constant whines and complaints that the kids had. She could care less if they wet the bed or whatever. The rules were, put them to sleep and that’s what she was going to do.
But for now? It was naptime. Later the smell of smoke woke Madara first from her slumber, and then the violent coughing happened. The sky was a blood red, and at first she thought she was in an illusion or worst death, but then once the sounds zoned into tune, she soon realized that it was late in the afternoon already. She groaned, her head throbbing painfully. She rolled onto her knees and then when she hit something hard, she gasp and shot up until the whole world was spinning. She looked down and the first thing she saw was a fire dying by where she was laying. And then she saw all the ground. As she bent over to try and stop the dizziness, she vomited and fell to the ground landing in the thick contents. Why was this so painful?
Her vision flashed and then she remembered that she actually was in an illusion. She turned her head and saw the eldest kid holding a hand seal and laughing like crazy. Madara woke right after and realized she had been put under a genjutsu that made her smell fire and that had given her a mini panic attack. You know, being told that the kid could perform jutsu would have been a really good thing to put in the mission description. Thankfully, the mission was over and Madara left the kids in the care of the next sucker who took on this mission. Making sure the teammates tidied up the place a little before they left, Madara bid the kids farewell and left to collect her money.
Unfortunately reality set in when the foreman came over to her as she walked away. He told her that there was so much to clean up and that she couldn’t go yet. She groaned but she went and started hauling away debris. It was a very strenuous mission, she hated it. She talked to one of her teammates, the one who was crying at the beginning. She asked about who she had lost, and she suddenly wondered where to start. Should she start chronologically? Should she just be vague about it, but this man had given her details so she should really let her know what she had lost, besides it was not something that she kept a secret, a lot of people within the village knew about his family situation, so with that in mind she told the man everything.
"My entire family. My father went Missing In Action when I was a boy, my sister was killed by her team-mate when I was sixteen and a few years back I lost my brother and mother to the missing nin from Hoshigakure. They... they were beaten to death by people who were trying to help them.." she said, his face turning to one of anger once again, she always seemed to be furious whenever she thought about the wrongs that had been done to his beloved family, but she snapped out of it almost instantly - she could not be seen to be a loose cannon, that would just get people concerned about her again and if she had to deal with one more ounce of falsely sympathetic bullshit then she would probably drown in the stuff. If you're going to feel sorry for someone, fucking feel sorry for them, don't pretend to! Hell, she was annoyed at them for the way that she had insulted his dead family, claiming they deserved it, but she was only a little bit less annoyed by those people who claimed to be sorry for his loss but were, in fact, far from. Bloody biased people, hating folks just because of the specific clan they were born into.
The shinobi admitted that she was a descended from a monk family, although Madara had already guessed that the moment she mentioned that their master worked in a monastery, and gave her his name. Her name meant "steel". It was a good name, but something more akin to a soldier than a priest. For a priest, she expected something more along the lines of divine, so there was probably a story behind that. A story that, quite frankly, she couldn't care less about. Right now, she cared more about avoiding any potential awkwardness by giving out his last name. Since confrontations with people who wanted to steal eyes, she had taken to simply calling herself by his first name before she got to know people. The one time that she broke his cover was when she used his Sharingan in battle, and that was pretty unavoidable. After all, if she was going to have to fight to protect herself for having something, she would bloody well use it.
The conversation made the cleaning go faster. Within a few hours the biggest rubble pieces had been cleared. All there was left to do now was the small stuff. It’d take hours but it wasn’t very mentally difficult. Trying to find a way to dissuade this kid’s paranoia about being laughed at like that, she decided to say some lie about how she was not judging her by his clothes. Besides, she was only going to hit a stereotype for people if she admitted that she was looking at her clothes. “Trust me, until you go around wearing bright orange, I'm not going to be surprised. My friend goes around wearing a porcelain mask at all times, despite that being more conspicuous than simply wearing different clothes than when on duty." When the man answered, the first thing that she said was not to forget that shinobi were not all monsters like the people that had killed her family. She felt a stir of irritation when she discovered that that was the answer she got. Not that the kid was sorry for his loss, not that she understood the pain, but actually criticizing her for the way that she might feel about that lifestyle. This girl was making a judgement on her without even knowing him, that was stupid and rude and so damned wrong! Besides, she had never believed for a second that all foreigners were all guilty of the same wrong doing.

Madara woke right after and realized she had been put under a genjutsu that made her smell fire and that had given her a mini panic attack.
