The two living clones were on another mission. This one was one where they were supposed to go to a beach. Wasn’t that a bitch and a half as it usually was? Well that meant that she was going to have to put in some extra work to learn some jutsu while she was out here doing the lord’s work. Madara walked up to a mine that just skirted the edges of the borders of the sandy area. The only reason anyone came to this particular area was to relax. Thhe clones had no affiliation whatsoever. They weren’t shinobi from this area, they weren’t even missing nin. They were nothing but living clones created with the sole purpose of going out and fulfilling her creator’s will. But she was far from home now. She was so far away that she couldn’t even telepathically talk to Madara. Not that she wanted to, because Madara was always one to drive her to do something because her safety wasn’t really something that Madara cared about. But whatever. The clones sighed and looked all around with disdain. She didn’t see anyone in this flat landscape. Not a single person above her either. Even using her mind’s eye she couldn’t sense anyone. She was also wearing a hat that shaded her face but there were holes just big enough for her mouth, nose, and eyes to function unhindered. It would suck for people to find out who she really was right?
Was she on the wrong fucking part of the beach? They grumbled and looked around some more. They were at “A” beach but there was no telling if there were others in the area. She walked down into the mine and tried looking for someone, anyone that could help guide her. She didn’t sense anyone, but she did hear a sound. They were industrial sounds. She got excited upon hearing said sounds and took off at full speed while looking around for someone who might be able to help her out. She soon came across a man. His pants were dark green instead of black and decorated with gold color, partially torn. A white coat covered his imposing build despite his age, and he wore a chest protector made of an animal rib cage. His hair was loose, jet black dotted with a dazzling gray. His face displayed all his experience through numerous scars. He looked at her with an odd look and said, “you here to help me?” He looked unsure of himself, like the living clones could actually be bandits in disguise. “You don’t have a gear on you. Can’t be too careful.” He was right to worry. There was no telling what kind of schenanigains a bandit could get into down this deep in the mine.
Eternity said, “no. We are just here to help out.” She let out a sigh when the man reached for his blade. She grabbed his wrists which held the blade firmly. Her blood ran down the blade to his hands. But it was just an illusion. Strange. There was no sign of the man after that.
Eternity spotted some people by the water who looked very distraught. There was a lot of what looked like paper and black powder strewn across the beach for several dozen meters. Everyone seemed to have a problem today. She would have just walked around them but Snow had been so outgoing today which motivated Eternity to take initiative.
“What happened here?” she asked who looked to be in charge.
“It’s a disaster! We were setting up for fireworks tonight but they got all wet because we forgot about the tide. We’re supposed to put on a massive show tonight but now it’s ruined! There’s no way we will get all these fireworks dry in time. Also the shells tore up most of them anyways so we need brand new fireworks. You two look free, are you up to help us out? If we all spread out and try to buy all the fireworks we can we might be able to pull of the show!”
“We’d be happy to help!” Eternity shouted as she threw her fist into the air. She grabbed Snow’s hand and the pair briskly walked off to town.
As they walked Snow couldn’t help but ask, “do you know how much fireworks cost? I hope you brought enough money.”
Eternity hadn’t thought about that. She had money, but there was no telling if it was enough. Also, she had no idea if she was going to be reimbursed. She said, “we can worry about that later, let’s hurry! We have a job to do.”
“If you say so,” Snow said with a giggle. She liked it when her friend got all worked up over something silly.
The two walked from store to store and asked to buy all the fireworks they had. Not many of the stores carried a large supply so at most they got a handful from each store. Fireworks were cheap which was surprising. Eternity had no idea how fireworks worked but now that she held them in her hands for the first time she could tell that they were little more than powder wrapped in paper. Now that she thought about it, she had never actually seen fireworks set off before. She’d only observed the explosions from a distance. She was excited to see just how it was done.
Within an hour both of the women held ample amounts of fireworks in their hands and they delivered them to the people back at the beach. They hadn’t brought very many fireworks compared to how many were lost but at least they’d given an honest effort. While Eternity and Snow were tired from walking already, many others went back to town and kept fetching fireworks until the sky darkened. Then the show started. Hundreds if not thousands of fireworks exploded over the course of a long hour down by the shore. The fireworks served as a great closer to what had been an already awesome day. Eternity wished that these good times could last forever.

Eternity and Snow entered themselves into some kind of race. They weren’t the most athletic shinobi out there but they thought they had a chance if they resorted to underhanded tactics. It didn’t take long for them to find other people that had similar tactics. There was one guy who basically tackled them both into an alley and tried to knock them out.
Snow saw in his pupils, the white of his eyes which were blood red from the stress. She had to finish him off and take care of herself. His face displayed all his experience through numerous scars. In a surge of anger and limitless determination, she threw her neck back, to send it back without delay, violently towards the man which she used as support. With her element of surprise, she had just crashed into his skull, hearing instantly the crunch of it. She let go of his hands at the same time, letting him be thrown away by the power of her blow. He struck the top of a tree and found himself leaning against it. The katana was staying with her. She looked him straight in the eye. “I didn’t want to do that, but if you’re going to attack me you should know that we are pretty capable.”
Telling him her thoughts about the meanness of the acts he intended to perform, she hoped that he would understand the origin of her motivations. The man started forming handseals but Eternity wasn’t going to stand for that. She took the sword from Snow and then pulled the man’s blade in front of herself and then stabbed it into his stomach. There was a splatter of his blood as a result of a clean blow that cut through the air. “See, we could have just done this nice and easy. Now don’t you worry, you’re not going to die,” She scolded him as he slumped down. “Now let me just find this shortcut and be on my way.” She picked up some map the man dropped along with a cleverly stashed pickaxe and started swinging her new pickaxe at the wall and tore away at the material. This old abandoned alley was basically a shortcut she needed to hack through to get to the end of the race quickly. She was able to keep her focus and take out a considerable chunk of the wall in question.
Snow helped as well, but there was only one pickaxe. She noted that they couldn’t just walk over the wall because then everyone would see that they’d cheated. Snow helped by clearing away the debris and keeping a lookout to make sure nobody was onto their plan. She was glad this wasn’t an actual mining mission because they would have to refine or do whatever it was that people were supposed to do to ore. She had never had to really do it before. She’d imagined that she would just have to bring it to the resident smith but that didn’t seem like an option for this two man crew she was working with.
She performed the transformation jutsu to assume the appearance of the man laying beside her. This was a safeguard in case someone else came looking and suspected something was off. The real version of the man managed to flip over and crawl over to a first aid kit. He was already treating his wound, consuming chakra to heal himself but none too quickly, the injury was only secondary in the end. She rushed on him, as if nothing had happened he was already using chakra to heal the wound. He could feel his veins beating fast especially at his temples. He was crushing the ground and attempting to gain his bearings back. His muscles were tense. The moment dragged on, eyes crossed, closer and closer. The handmade katana that he did not master as a practitioner but that he still knew how to handle. It’d been taken from him like he was nothing but trash by the superior shinobi. The tip of the wet blade cut through the ground on its way to the side as Eternity worked. The man debated reaching for it but thought better of it. He was hoping he could cut a deal with those two and get out. Then they could all avoid a deadly conflict.
As Eternity mined away the man on the ground was left to think to himself. He wanted to hate them but he couldn’t. You didn’t get to cheat because you were a great person. Not only did he intend to defile his soul by executing one to several people in cold blood for winning this race. But he was ready to kill as many as he needed for it. He had cheated death many times before and it was obvious that he would do it again. But his satisfied air only appeared for a second. Time for him to realize, too late, of Snow’s presence in front of him. He thought back on his many mistakes and why he had come to be here in the first place. It was money. It was always money. That was probably why she was here too, because why else would she risk coming here if not for the money? He remembered a fight where someone had hit him powerfully with all their momentum and all the elastic propulsion of their body with the guard of his katana. Now that had been a fight that he had gone down favorably in. Not being stabbed by his own weapon. But how could he try to turn the tables? Dare he even try?
Before long had mined away all the wall she really needed. The only thing left to do was push through it and run to the end of the race. She didn’t know what to wash her body with. She kicked the man on the ground and demanded to be told what to wash it with. He pointed to a large bucket of water. Snow shared the water bucket with Eternity to wash off and look sweaty and then they waited for a while to make the run time believable. Then they just ran through the hole that was made and won the race!
