A small grin etching itself onto the face of the scarred girl, amused by the fact that Typhon had some sense of humor when in a situation like that. Down with the taxes and expensive healthcare! Instead people should be treated for free in her mind. The money simply came down to whether or not the hospital should receive more funding from the kage and also the people who help make decisions for said Kage. Yet Ryumi knew full well that it wasn’t that simple, nothing could ever be that simple for someone to run an entire country’s worth of people inside of it and manage everything at once.
The concrete’s filling soon would be placed, Ryumi loved how her arms felt after the meager workout in her mind. Small bits of cement coated her fingers, keeping them rough and dirty, perhaps helping the lady had made the both of them a bit less presentable then what was thought of for shinobi. Yet they still had jobs to do like anyone else, there was simply no matter if they were wearing their normal clothing or some amount of professional attire. She’d shift her weight to her left, placing her hand right on her waist as she checked on Typhon for a moment, allowing the medical ninja to help himself. The information regarding his teammates was interesting, he was in a team with the prodigy Morio and also the Jonin Yamato. Those two certainly would make an impact on the world some day, just like she and Typhon would soon enough.
“Hmmm, is he someone who loves swords and weaponry? Maybe something that he could use to make some kind of armor? I’d have to ask Enishi when he gets out of the hospital more about those when I get the chance.”
She turned to him, eyebrow raised at the question of what missions they’d have to do next, checking the mission listing she was given, the scrolling text indicated that they should probably go over to the academy before anything else. Lest they smell even worse than concrete and oil as a result of the day they were having already.
“Next up, we have to go back to the academy and show off a little, inspire the kids to take up action and arms. Sounds like a whole lot of fun!”
Raven hair spinning with her as she brushed her hands together. The new white bandages provide a useful cover against most stains. Ryumi, hopeful that they could get the missions done, needed to make sure that everything was in order before she could simply go home and hope that Lloyd was doing alright. That’s why she was doing this, to help her own father most of all. He had raised her most of her life, he shouldn’t have to die because of the ones who went against the entire village.
“Hopefully you don’t end up scaring any kids right?” She said, a smug grin plastered on her scarred cheeks, teasing Typhon back from earlier where he asked if those muscles were for show.

Ty always enjoyed seeing the results of his hard work. As he looked down at the concrete that had started drying he would feel a little bad that they wouldn't stick around and help with the rest of the construction. At first he couldn't have cared less about the shop, but after spending an hour or so setting the foundation for the place he felt a small sense of connection with it. He would have to come back and see how it turns out once its all done. Looking at his hands he would see that his gloves were covered in grey powder and chunks of wet concrete. Luckily he had several pairs at home to replace these, but for the moment he would simply clap his hands together to knock off what he could.
Ryumi would list off their next destination which happened to be the ninja academy. The job was to show the new students some impressive stuff and help them get excited about the studying that they were in for. Ty wasn't entirely sure what it really was they taught the students who went there because he hadn't gone himself. He hadn't wanted to become a shinobi at all and only ended up where he is because of his need for money. He wondered if Ryumi had taken classes to get where she is now or if she had a similar story to his own. He couldn't help but laugh when she suggested that he not scare the kids with his demonstration. After a couple moments of thought he really wasn't sure what he could show these children that wasn't dangerous. His disease gas was definitely a no go, toxic sweat wasn't very visually impressive. Ryumi would probably be able to pull off something physically impressive, but Ty wasn't so sure about himself.
"I'll do my best, but most of what I can do is a little scary." He would cough out. He was already sweating from the work they did and now the sun was beaming down making the air even drier. He could feel his voice starting to get hoarse and would clear his throat before speaking again, "Sorry about that. There's no need to worry about me, this is normal." He would say lightheartedly while leading the way to the academy.
Once there he would try to follow Ryumi's lead this time. He would let her go first and if she needed any help with her presentation then he would happily give it. Once she had done her part in getting the kids all riled up, Ty would get ready to follow it up. He had a little idea that he thought might impress the kids while still being pretty much safe.
"Here goes nothing." he would say as he took his mask off and placed it gently on the ground. A few hand seals later and Typhon would begin sinking into the ground right before the kids' eyes. Once he was fully submerged he would perform a series of hand seals to combine a couple effects. He would feel his blood coursing, like it had in his spar with Sebastian, and with all his added strength and agility he would spring up from the floor as fast as he could. He'd launch up to roughly 10 meters in the air and begin breathing out a giant spherical cloud of purple poison. He would fall softly back to his feet and look up to see the sphere hanging in the air just like he had wanted. He'd then toss a couple branches off a nearby tree up into the cloud where they would never come back down. The poison was eating them up too quickly. He felt pretty proud of his display and hoped the kids found it at least a little interesting.
From there he would help his partner with her shift on trash day, something he had done before. The last time he had done this, the streets were piled as high as some of the rooftops with garbage bags. Today wasn't nearly as bad. It looked like a normal day with a reasonable amount of trash. Luckily Ryumi would definitely be strong enough to carry the ones he couldn't. Not to say that he wouldn't carry his fair share. The dump was a lot calmer than the last time he had come. He was glad to not have to spend a bunch of time surrounded by the reeking stink.
The next thing on their list was helping out with the gate guards. An absolutely mind numbing task that involved a lot more paperwork than one would expect. Once they got there Typhon would allow his partner to handle the personal side of things like greeting guests while he handled the paperwork. Admittedly he chose the position because the guard booth had a roof and he didn't want to sit in the sun any longer. He hated paperwork as much as the next guy, but he couldn't stand the sunlight even more.
The final thing on the list of jobs for the pair was knocking down a building that was set for demolition. This was also a job he'd seen before. The last time Youta made the warehouse disappear in the blink of an eye with a black hole. He would offer to take care of it with his decay, but if Ryumi wanted to he would gladly sit back and watch her tear it down. Admittedly that would probably be a fun sight to see. Either way whoever ended up taking their target building down they would be done for the day. Ty was happy to be done for the day at last. He hadn't expected to do as much physical labor as he had, but he was definitely lucky to have had an energetic partner through it all.
"You know, as much as it was a lot of work, I had a good time today. I haven't felt that competitive in a long time." He would look at the bandages on the girl's arms before parting way with a friendly, "I'll see you next time you need your bandages changed. Here's my address so stop by if you ever need any help. Later!"
With that he would head home where he could take a shower and pass out for a couple hours before he needed to make dinner.

Re: Get up the Ranks!

It was simply nice to have someone to help when it came to the missionary side of things. Typhon was certainly someone she could rely on when it came to getting the job done. Purple eyes staring at the concrete for just a brief moment, noting that it would be a bit of time before the entire thing was fully built… Yet it was a start, reminding her that almost every young shinobi had to be built from the ground up. The concrete representing that Shinobi needed to learn from their very roots if they wished to maintain any kind of presence within the world. Hard work was becoming the norm, the accepted part of life, that’s what made Ryumi feel such a fire to continue, pleased to know that soon there would be more like her, Enishi, Morio, Typhon, and their champion inside of the Nova exams. There had to be one child, one that had the brimming potential to succeed them all. Her and Typhon showing off inside of the academy to get kids excited, to make the children motivated to actually take up arms and help the village forced her to feel that sense of happiness, as well as the challenge of seeing who’d rise to the top. Just like she would soon enough in the presence of the world. Her confidence brimming with mirth, bandages now stained gray with her arms feeling so alive again, she could actually throw a punch without scaring the kids herself. That kind of medical prowess… Ryumi would have to see if Typhon wanted to meet Lloyd soon… He could use the help after everything that had happened to him physically. His spine had been fractured, leaving a grim reminder for those that also were to take up the thought of becoming a shinobi that accidents can and will happen. That people will die in the line of duty to protect their villages from the forces beyond their borders.
Typhon’s own laugh made her chuckle as well, nice to see the doctor give some amount of relief at her own witty little quips towards him. Best to make sure everyone is in high spirits before presenting themselves towards the students skill wise. Arms crossing underneath her bosom, leaving that wide smug grin towards Typhon while he coughed out his own answer.
“I’m sure it’ll be cool! You’ve probably got something that can help defend yourself right? You can’t just be all healing? Medical ninja gotta be able to save themselves,” She’d comment, giving a small raised eyebrow as his coughing increased for a moment, wondering if she’d have to run back towards the corrupted hospital to get him treated. His coughing was alarming, a doctor who continuously coughs.. Maybe that’s why he kept on wearing the mask, to hide what comes out of his own mouth. She’d stand there, waiting patiently before he reaffirmed her that he was indeed okay. A sigh of relief came out of the young woman, her hand raising up to then give a thumbs up towards her sickly friend.
“Just make sure you don’t do that during the presentation, the kids are gonna wanna see you at full throttle. I’ll be sure to show you what I got as well, just you wait.” Her eyes glanced up at the academy’s entrance. Thoughts peered into her as she had never come to the academy beforehand. Instead having been trained by Lloyd and then being given the rank of Genin right before the insurrection had commenced against the people of Hoshigakure. She remembered that the Hoshimura were somehow involved in it, mostly due to the people talking about Morio and Enishi that she could hear outside of the Arena’s walls. Even if people were proud of them, their clans seemingly hung over their heads. Would Atarashi have more information on the insurrection and revolt planned by that man, he one who’s statue is stained with graffiti and has cracks running along its very mantlehead. Teeth gritting against each other at the thought that someone like that could even be the kage of the village. Leading a revolt against the people? Why would they do that? It felt like a painful gut punch to know that one of the very kage, the ones who swore to protect their own people would be so blind as to try to lead a revolt against the people. Or towards the next Hogokage that had taken their position, it felt immature. The thoughts of people's homes being destroyed, Lloyd’s spine being snapped in two from a punch from her own mothers punch. How she had been able to somehow kill her mother… Her strength had finally found itself after all of those years of torment within the church.
When arriving in the academy, the wooden walls were sleek with polish, having been kept well by the staff or the janitors that had kept it clean. She nearly felt her hand slide on the walls without even a smidge of effort placed upon them. It felt nice to be in here, a place where the children would grow to become young shinobi and Kunoichi for their own village. The smell of peppercorns and sand filled her senses, Blackened hair flowing in the slight breeze as she beckoned Typhon to follow along and head to the class they were assigned to. It was Room H-2, the apparent Homeroom of some of the people there, however what she was not expecting was the sheer age difference between some of the people here. Some were of course children, yet others were bordering on the edge of adulthood… I guess whatever works in the academy to get people in it. She’d give a small flex towards them, Introducing herself with a small wink. Yet what her plans really were was to try and amuse them with something fun.
“Alright Young bucks! You wanna see what Taijutsu can do, then I’ll show ya!” She glanced towards one of the boulders outside, they’re usually kept there for endurance training of some kind. Mainly useful for training how to use the chakra walking skill that almost every shinobi knew how to accomplish after the academy days. Yet now she was going to use it to show the people what Taijutsu could REALLY do. Her arm suddenly was pulled back, waist twisting behind her as her arm rested parallel with her chest, her fist tightened as she could feel the blood flowing for a moment. She had a clear shot through the window, and would pay for the damages if there were any. Giving one small wink towards Typhon, Ryumi’s waist twisted back to place, Following with her leg taking a stomp forwards, a small crack in the wooden floor had splinters fly into the air before the punch itself. Her arm rocketed forwards, the wrappings hovered around her arm before the sudden blast of wind aimed right through the window, slamming right into and destroying the massive boulder that was used for endurance exercises. A few of the students gasped in wonder, Ryumi showing a good display of Taijutsu, a grin etched on her face as a few of the younger students let out sudden sounds of astonishment. Now she truly was cooking with something here if she could do that, and perhaps others would take up the usefulness of Taijutsu. Ryumi was able to show off a little bit, Atarashi would be proud, or hopefully anyways he would be. With that, Ryumi took a small bow before the group of Academy students, letting Typhon have the floor, expecting perhaps some kind of green glowing energy field of some kind that would make the kids feel much better physically. What she got instead was a marvelous thing that she wouldn’t have expected out of someone so nice.
Typhon’s own jutsu started off with him taking off his own mask, Ryumi nearly took a double take at him simply taking it off in order to showcase to the students what a proper medical ninja could really do on the front lines. Yet witnessing Typhon sudden;ly sink into the floor, it took her back a bit, just what kind of move was he planning. He must have been saving this for later if possible. Her smile never faltered or wavered as she witnessed Typhon’s display, waiting patiently for what he’d do next. A few of the academy students were confused or simply starry eyed with the simple display of Typhon’s control over his own chakra and body. He certainly was a force, that was something Ryumi could tell he had been honing for awhile. It made her eyes widen in surprise, the medical Shinobi launching himself from the ground in blinding fashion. Such speed was surprising for what most could see as a medical ninja and a guy who wasn’t all that physically built. Yet to have him jump into the air certainly was a surprise that Ryumi was not expecting to see today. Especially given that he had mostly been laxed with her, Typhon however was not finished with his simple display of medical ninjutsu mastery. It seemed if anything that he was just getting started on his own display of what he could do. The ten meter jump was followed swiftly with the spewing of a giant purple cloud just above the little platform they had to display their abilities without hurting the academy students. Certainly it was something useful for them, Ryumi could have potentially hurt someone if they were all up close and personal with the students. Yet the cloud would begin to form a spherical shape, her eyes wide in surprise at just how big it had actually gotten. What kind of Medical Ninjutsu was this? Some kind of Poison? It seemed to be that way due to the slight amount of weight the cloud of purple smoke had. Typhon was keeping something like this hidden, surely he must have known what he was doing to send out an attack like this to show off to some of the academy students.
“Alright! This is way cooler than what I was able to do!” She commented, yet that was before the display of what the cloud could actually do. Typhon, having grabbed some of the nearby branches that had fallen near their display, was snatched from the ground quickly, he seemed to want to get the show started. Ryumi liked it, she liked how when the branches came into contact with the cloud they never came back down… It ate away at the branches very bark and insides. That on an enemy would surely be lethal, unless that person had a way to ward off Poison’s… Although Typhon did not need to know about that juuussttt yet. In due time he’d come to know if they ever were to come to blows, yet she was excited for what the man wearing his masks was capable of besides sinking into the floor, healing, and creating clouds that decay objects down to such a point that not even dust seems to appear on the floor after consumption. The kids found the image of a guy who could create poisonous clouds that could eat away matter to be far more impressive than simply a punch of air. Ryumi watched as the kids all seemed to want to learn something from Typhon, with only a few going after her… Mostly that of the older people. Figures he’d get the most attention, that poisonous cloud was something that surprised her. She certainly would have to be careful. Typhon knew his shit, that was something Ryumi could only respect in the way of battle. Plus him healing her beforehand is one of the reasons why she believed that they were working so well together. The two of them waving a goodbye towards the Academy after the events of the Poison cloud and boulder breaking, at least Ryumi got to show off the physical prowess of Taijutsu, while Typhon got to show off the creative and also broken ways of controlling the battlefield with Medical Ninjutsu.
“That was a great display Typhon-San! I wonder if perhaps a lot more students will eventually become Medical ninjas like you! I think we’d need more, especially with how many are still injured right?” A small laugh escaped from her as she hid the pain of knowing that Lloyd was busy with trying to deal with his spine being fractured. She was trying to get enough money, any money at all to even so much as attempt to bribe someone to try and fix his spinal fracture. She remembered how battered and broken Enishi was after the fight with Tsunayoshi Hoshimura. Why couldn’t someone heal him like they healed Enishi? Maybe it was because he had a higher meaning to the village now that he was a Nova, it made her blood boil that Lloyd couldn’t be helped the same way… Why didn’t anyone do anything about it? It just seemed so unfair, even if life was unfair, there were so many chances for someone to check up on him and wonder if they should heal him, or to check on the small girl that he was left to basically ask for everything. She felt so hopeless in this state, yet the thoughts of Lloyd and a medical ninja were waved inside of her head when they had decided to do Garbage day… Of course it had to be garbage day right after going to the academy. At least the mission’s contents were how she was feeling, maybe Typhon could understand that much, if he too also had someone he wished to care for.
The bags of trash weren’t nearly as bad as Ryumi would have thought when taking a slight glance at them. Especially given that she could indeed change the size of her hand to carry more trash if necessary, that Hiyu clan dna inside of her was pretty damn convenient sometimes. Especially when it came to the menial tasks that everyone loves asking her to do for them inside of the village. She honestly would call herself the village's donkey, always being pushed to do everything physical for them, at least this time she was being paid to go and haul garbage towards the dump… Yet she wondered how they’d dispose of it after the few weeks it’s been sitting there. Perhaps Typhon could eat through most of the materials inside of the Bags besides metal, it honestly wouldn’t hurt if there was a way to cleanly recycle objects without having them just sit inside of your own house somewhere deep within where no one would be able to find it. Yet the Garbage day was simply just beginning, the smell was beginning to infect her very nose, Ryumi wishing she honestly would rather smell fresh blood again then ever have to smell the rotting carcass of a pig stuffed into a garbage bag. Luckily for her it didn’t get on any of her clothing or onto herself. Yet she knew that she stunk of garbage, sweat, and also the last remnants of blood and copper. Ryumi could tell that it was the least of their worries right now, as the one she had actually been dreading the most had just stepped into their list of things to even accomplish. That being the guard duty that she was being forced to do, grumbling from reading the mission description, she despised how out of order everything seemed to be, hopefully no one really minded the smell, It had actually been awhile since she had an actual nice warm shower without her arms being stung by the heat that the droplets caused.
“Y’know, of all times, it had to be now?” She said aloud, yet the mission would have to carry on like usual. Which meant that she’d simply go along with what she thought would be for the best. Noting that Typhon didn’t seem to be the talkative one, and also the fact that he practically launched himself towards the nearest piece of shelter left her as the only one outside doing her job while he decided to do paperwork. Ryumi had to put on a brave face, her scarred appearance did seem to offset a lot of people that she had come across, the cheerful girl that would come across a few travelers had a face that looked as though she had been run through by a shredder across it. Save for her eyes and a part of her own mouth. Her little expressions of wide mouthed smiles as she’d try and direct people to go while also making sure no one who was acting suspicious got through her unseen. She did spot someone who was causing a bit of trouble. Resulting in some involuntary fighting from her part, the guy didn’t stand a chance once she wrapped her legs around his head, perhaps that would be a dream of someone’s… To have their head be wrapped around by her legs. She’d have to try it on Enishi the next time they got into battle, that certainly would be a great way to scare him! Although the guy was quickly restrained by the Shinobi guards present near the walls of the village. She was curious, deeply so by how easy it was to even do guard duty, talk about how boring it was… Yet being a Shinobi wasn’t all about the fighting and adventures and drama, sometimes it was about the menial things in life. Like what she and Typhon had been doing for the whole day, she found it rather comforting that they could make a living doing the smaller jobs for people. It made her wonder though, would this… make her better… as a person. She remembered talking with Enishi, wondering if he would be able to become a protector or even a hero for the people right before his match with Tsunayoshi. That was the marking and showing of what a true Shinobi could become in the right hands. She and him had a great chat about masks and how he seemed to have a few masks… More like a lot of masks under him now. Perhaps it was for the best that the two sparring partners reunited when both were at their peaks. She wanted to become a mountain of strength, something that would never falter in the face of combat. The strong stallion that always clears the finish line no matter the costs!
That was what she was and always will be. She wanted to be someone that could fight, for her people, and for her country. Yet perhaps it was enough about the pride of her nation or trying to make sure that everything was okay. As Typhon and her were finally able to get out of the task of dealing with people that either wanted to play grab ass or to annoy Typhon with more copies of BS that didn’t matter all too much to the village. At least he got the nice roof and some amount of heat off of him, her skin was basking in that sunshine, as winter was slowly beginning to approach, and the nights were beginning to grow colder and colder as time went on. As it seemed that their, or at least Typhon and her’s final job together was about to begin in earnest. It was rather exciting actually, they were about to do some more demolition work, this time they’d practically be the explosives in this case. Ryumi’s smirk widened in complete and utter joy upon seeing the size of the building, and that they were allowed to tear it down to the ground.
They didn’t want to tip over the building and cause it to crash into anyone, as a result of this Ryumi understood she could just go and destroy it with her punches all willy nilly. She’d have to be precise, show that kind of control that Atarashi and Enishi wanted to see from her in the future. She had to be controlled about her own strikes, lest she be prey to her own wild ways of fighting. She couldn’t allow herself to be wild now, she had to show precise action. Her arm shooting upwards, the Hiyu clan's stretching ability allowing her to grab one of the ledges of the building. Her fingers dug into the hard concrete of the building, allowing her arm to return back into place with her now being launched forwards right into the building. It was showing off, but better than that then to show that she wasn’t even capable of anything without the use of chakra. When she was about 2 meters away from the building, her fingers let go, allowing the muscle bound women to land gracefully on the side of said building. Easily climbing up to the rooftops for the final part of the demolition. Her fists began to pull back, before suddenly barrage after barrage of punches were being sent towards that of the rooftop. Her fists loving the aching feeling gnawing at the skin. Her knuckles she knew were going to probably be bleeding if she didn’t apply chakra to it. So when they started to hurt, that’s when her arms blackened. She was using her own enhancement jutsu to complete the assignment given to them. Her fists smashing through the top floor with the rest coming down soon afterwards. She knew that Typhon had a good way of clearing up much smaller messes. As a way to not over exert herself, and to finally have a small break, The sweat beading off of her own head as she wondered how long Typhon would take to decay things, as she witnessed, he certainly was a force to be reckoned with when it came to touching him… It seemed to be a contact based thing, keeping your range was the best strategy against her fellow Genin. Yet it seemed like the job was done for him at least, yet she had one more thing she had to do when Typhon was able to finally leave. That being a small mining trip towards the borders. Which she was sure was indeed at least somewhat safe, judging by how even though it was a B-Rank they wouldn’t send random people into mines without a second thought.
She knew a change of clothing wasn’t going to be necessary, her strong arms on the other hand would definitely be necessary when it came to crushing the ore that they needed with her own bare hands. She decided to simply take a small cart up there beforehand, knowing that she had at least some money to pay for it, besides she’d be back before the carts began to close up shop for the night. It was dangerous to go alone out during these times, yet everyone was able to manage accordingly. It was times like these that made Ryumi simply relax, especially given the job she had to do was a bit stressful. When she had arrived she was given a ton of ores to crush and then wash away with Alkaline. She was practically the designated ore crusher for the night. People constantly hand her different ores for her to break and then wash away. She was able to get somewhat of a beat going, a tempo of how fast everyone was working and also everyone handed her the ores to crush. She was so close, she felt the last few pieces of rock leave her as the Tungsten was washed away into its own little separate pile. Considered to be her pile for the day, it was enough Tungsten to where she was actually able to get a bar out of the whole entire endeavor. Ryumi sighing softly, she had barely rested at all for the day, her arms felt sore from all of the work she had put them into from crushing to carrying to even so much as punching with them. Yet the blood rushing through her at least wasn’t coming out of her arms this time… It felt nice to feel the warmth. The cart took her back towards Hoshigakure with one more ingot under her belt. As well as gaining a lot of money from all of these small jobs that she had done throughout the day.
