Yuka could hear the screams and shrills of the children, the ringing in her ears made her look for the source; as she wrapped the large black puff coat around her body, zipping it up as she made her way out of the shop and down the street, the newly acquired coat giving a small amount of warmth to the young Raiten’no noble, her long locs of white hair cascading around her delicate figure as she moved down the street, her hands shoved into the pockets of the coat, the woman would keep her eyes peeled for the source of her ringing ears.
Yuka would eventually come across the source, her eyes beaming at the sight in front of her; two groups of children, some not much younger then herself, others as young as maybe ten years old… Yuka had never seen children interact with each other in ways as what was being displayed before her, the building of forts and trenches, as if they were preparing for warfare as she gawked on, there seemed to be two direct leaders, older children directing their corresponding groups… Yuka couldn’t help the small smirk across her lips as she watched the spectacle before her.
As the woman pressed her lips together, preparing herself to leave she would hear the shrill war cry for help would ring through the brisk winter air of the village, causing Yuka to stop dead in her tracks… She had never played a game like this before… She had never attempted to have much enjoyment throughout her childhood… Perhaps… Perhaps she could give it a shot? There wouldn’t be any harm in it at all.. Her father wasn’t around to reprimand her… She could use the excuse of it being some form of training… A soft sigh as she contemplated her choices, unsure if she wanted to proceed with the events taking place only a few feet from her position… It would be rather enjoyable… The children already partaking seemed to be having a lot of fun…
Fun… What a foreign concept… She had had fun during her time on the beach… She got to meet some interesting characters, and learn new things about herself… Could this be the same case as last time? Yuka would allow her bottom lip to be sucked somewhat in her mouth, biting down on it gently as she turned heel… Her eyes scanning the groups, if she decided to join… Which team a better prospect of winning? There was several options, and yet she wasn’t entire sure what she wanted to do or how to proceed with it. It wasn’t a long time that she spent contemplating her choices before she dashed out towards the right side of the fielding, opting for the team of kids with a higher mixture of middle-aged children, whereas the opposing team was more stacked along the lines of older children, few young ones compared to her team.
As much as she enjoyed to win, she also disliked unfair fights… And if joining the team that could potentially lose only in an attempt to even the playing field, she was doing so with honor, and would lose with honor. She knew this would bring shame to her father, but she didn’t much care… She wasn’t a Raiten’no Noble today… She was just Yuka, her ties to the noble family of Kumogakure, even her ties with Kumogakure didn’t matter today… She was finally getting the chance and the ability to play as a child… Something that she hadn’t been allowed to do for years… Since her birth, her life had been training, pleasing her father… Studying… Pleasing her father… Being the best at anything she ever did, all in an attempt to please her overbearing and over demanding father. Her success in life directly reflected on him… On her clan… On the village of Kumogakure… Yuka needed to be perfect at all times. Perfection was key…
But perfect was not something she needed, nor cared for today… No she wanted to live her life to its fullest extent, ensuring the more pleasure out of this interaction was vital. Her eyes would move towards the child that had deemed himself the leader of this team, listening to his instructions before the battle would begin to wage on, the group being told to use the newly made barricades for cover and to build up as many snowballs as humanly possible before the timer would go off and the battle would begin.
This was exciting to Yuka… The entire experience was overjoys… She couldn’t wait for the chance to humble the other team… And so she would begin, her hands making quick work of the snow surrounding her fingers rotating around the snow, packing it in tightly as she formed balls, placing one down in the large piling that was beginning to form as she and others quickly made a large pile before picking up and moving on to the next barricade and repeating the steps.
Yuka would continue to make these movements until she reached the last barricade, time had all but nearly run out at this point… Her eyes squinting as she inhaled deeply, her breath heavy with a large puff of steam, the coldness had completely escaped her mind, she had certainly forgotten all about it as she was on a mission… It wasn’t until she took a moment to relax, that she realized the temperature had continued to drop… The chillness of the air taking over her.

Snow.
How…quaint…quiet and calm. Soothing as the coolness would clash against coolish skin. Pale, also acting as a mirror to the softly, slowly falling wintery weather. It was a refreshing feeling. One that hadn’t been experienced in quite some time. Somewhere around the 2ish century mark for Ayuna Kyuketsuki. The Sanguine Seer had fond memories of the occasional and rare times when this would happen back in Volcano. And, while it was basically a once every 20 or so years, if that even, this time of year just always brought those kinds of fond memories. She’d relish and relinquish in the moment while it would still last, savoring every last drop as if dining on a fine meal.
But alas.
The moment would eventually have to pass.
There was a game to be had.
Snapping to from the serenity of her daydream, the robed kunoichi would be back to reality and noticing that the snowball fight was about to begin. It was just the first of a few series of tasks that was poised to her. And the vampiress had a keen and caring approach when it came to helping the likes of mortals. Although most in the clan didn’t have similar regards to those who weren’t amongst them, the pureblood always had a soft spot since they weren’t simply well received enough to be blessed by Lord Jashin. Sometimes, it would feel like a bit of a curse, but that was besides the point. The countdown would end, and it would be off to the races for the lot of them.
On the opposing team of two of the older looking ones who stood out a bit from the rest of the bunch due to them having shinobi headbands, Ayuna’s eyes would be casted directly at them. One sported her own village’s headband, so in good fun she couldn’t prioritize them as the first target. However the other had one on which symbolized their home village which was hidden amongst the clouds. Kumogakure. A rather glorious place, or so she’s heard, but couldn’t say definitively. She had never visited after all, so in this case it was all a matter of hearsay. A reasonable conclusion could be drawn from that, albeit. Certainly a person from a village with such great renown, must make for a fine opponent, even if it was just a fun snowball fight. Plus, there was the benefit weighing in; the other kunoichi was being distracted by building a small blockade of sorts.
But.
Ayuna had a trick up her sleeve for a moment just like this. To start with the tactical maneuver, the lass with the flowing pearlescent hair would start packing snowballs. But, she’d do so while keeping them stationed on the ground. Kneeling down, one would be made. Then two; three. Four, five, six. All the way up until a ninth was formed to top off the pyramid like formation. Using the newly created stack as a shield of sorts, some handseals would be formed behind it; sneakily, both working in tandem with one another to not make it overtly obvious that it was happening. And upon the last one being formed, 2 portals would appear. One directly underneath the snowball pile. The other…4 meters above Yuka’s head.
And they’d all fall down on top of her, unless in the off chance that she had managed to take note of this in time.
