The time between now and the incident that happened in the northern region that is known as the snow country still haunted the Chinoike. He could still see them in his dreams. Those demonic beings. The mutated creatures that ripped innocent lives apart. Akaime could still feel their nails grabbing at him trying to consume him. The adrenaline was the only thing pushing him to survival after his muscles could not work with all the fatigue that took place in them. However, those fragmented memories didn't stop him from doing it once again.
He received another scroll with an invitation to a new destination. A casino of all places. Maybe this time it won't be so horrifying. Akaime longed for a new destination with relaxation, exotic food and tempting beverages. This could be a perfect opportunity to experience those things. Hopefully, his curiosity doesn't kill him this time. Gathering a few of his belongings, he activated the seal and then he was teleported to an unknown land.
Unlike those previous times he teleported, he didn't feel queasy and nauseous. The Ketsuryugan user must be getting to those feelings. Looking around, he found himself in a rather large building. Tables and extravagant settings flooded the place. A thrilling excitement started to overtake Akaime as he witnessed the marvelous scenery at hand. Grand pillars of gold and silvery metals supported the layers above. Serving wenches and game attendants were dressed from head-to-toe in a bunny attire, using their sex appeal to draw in more consumers. A massive chandelier of bright lights hung like an obelisk in the center.
Taking his first steps forward, he noticed that the tables were filled with people playing some type of card game. Excited cheers and disappointed groans came from all directions. It seemed that they were betting on the cards with ryo. Akaime has never seen such a thing like this before. How exciting it was. Maybe later he will have a chance to learn about these games. Continuing forward, he sees a massive bar lined up against the wall with bartenders tirelessly working, giving both customers and the serving wenches their beverages. From here, he could tell that some of the bottles lined on the wall he has never seen before. How he wishes he could try them at the moment.
That will be for a time much later. Unfortunately, this trip didn't come for free as it had indicated that they need help with several things. With the first being to locate a suspicious individual on the casino grounds, but before that, apparently, he would be positioned with a team, and they will act as an extension of the security of the casino. However, the texts didn't say who or where they would be, but to meet up and investigate. Much easier said than done, especially with a wide area like this. Akaime sighed in defiance as he began to scout the area for any persons that would look like they were a part of this quest.
It took him quite the time to locate any individuals that looked like the right person, but everyone that he questions left him at a dead end. This was starting to work Akaime's nerves, and he could feel himself fiending for drink to help him relax. Rubbing his temple, let his back rest against the wall behind him. Looking down at the ground, he sighed once again before looking up. Well, just his luck. He saw someone that could look like they were a part of the security team. He was holding a large polearm that could intimidate anyone that got to close. 'This has to be one,' Akaime thought as he wondered towards the individual. Akaime studied him. A unique shade of purple that descended into another was the color of his hair. Attire to match. That was all he got before he was upon him.
"Erm. Hello, I wouldn't suppose you are on the extended security force? If so, I am Akaime. A pleasure to make your acquaintance." Akaime said with a grin as he extended his hand to shake it with the small individual. He would take notice that there was supposed to be four of them, so they would have to wait for the others to arrive. Until that, Akaime would try to make small talk to not let an awkward air drift in.

"And it came to pass that the traveler, who had been granted egress from the Hidden Sand to make pilgrimage to Jashin's Temple, wandered into a casino in Tea Country on his journey. And there, he saw the prophet called Blood Seer, who had crossed his path before.
The traveler approached the prophet, and said, "I have seen thee before, and I believe that thou art a messenger of the Lord. What message dost thou have for me?"
And the prophet replied, "My message is the same as before, my son. Seek the truth, and follow the path of righteousness. For the Lord is with thee always, even in the midst of the temptation and distraction of this world."
And the traveler pondered the prophet's words, as he looked around at the flashing lights and sounds of the casino, riddled with men and women in bunny suits. He knew that he was in a place of temptation, and that he must be careful not to lose sight of his true purpose.
And so he prayed to the Lord Jashin for strength and guidance, and he resolved to keep his focus on the path of righteousness. For he knew that even in the midst of the chaos and distraction of the world, the Lord was with him always, and would guide him on his journey. Amen"
Jupiter used three fingers to then touch his heart then his temple, then his shoulders left after the right to sign a cross symbol on his body before he kissed his necklace at the end of his prayer. A few of the casino workers whispered behind the tall young man in his black robe. They pointed suspiciously at him but he did not take notice. Instead, he kept pulling on the lever of the slot machine trying to roll three sixes.

Times were strange for Ban. Not long after the events in Winter Wonderland a new casino had made its way through the nations. Similar to how Santa was able to transport everyone to his domain, the advertiser for the event gave everyone access to the countries using space-time ninjutsu. It was remarkable and would bring in diverse revenue for the company. From a business standpoint, it was genius. From a shinobi standpoint, it was the breeding ground for work and trouble. Lots of money would be moving around in a large casino with high volume, meaning extra support to security. That's where shinobi like Ban would come in.
Ban wasn't much of a gambler. Her experience was that people would gamble on her during fighting events. She was raised to be more financially conservative and keep as much money in the bank and savings and invest in her own future. It worked out for her lifestyle since she wasn't much of a spender anyway, using most of her money on equipment to do better on jobs. Initially, when she heard about the casino, she figured she would use the time to train and avoid it altogether. However, there were offers to the village shinobis from the countries that they were going to be marketing to work as extra security. Not only was it paying a lot for protection but it also offered them free casino slots as a reward for their hard work. It was the perfect way to try gambling for the first time and also keep money in her savings. Ban saw no downsides and took the job.
Right away, Ban was in work mode. Even as she was just making her rounds and checking in, she was making mental notes of everyone. There were a couple of shady figures, like a tall man seemingly praying while playing the slots. It was odd and not normally a cause for alarm but there was a hint of combat experience in his body figure, much like Ban. There were also fancy-dressed men who weren't playing any games and were just watching the winnings of others. Ban couldn't figure out if they were casino officials, but it could mean scheming from men with an eye for lots of money.
The Hozuki wasn't alone in her security job. The casino was hiring from all over the world to get the best security from the nations they were visiting. She was instructed to work with them. She saw two of the three people that she was supposed to meet up with, Akime and Chiharu. Ban approached them and bowed respectfully. "My name is Ban Hozuki. I'm a chunin of Kirigakure. I was hired to work with you." Ban was short and brief with the introductions because she didn't know them. It was her default to be business first.

It wasn't soon after Akaime was followed up by another individual. A tall female with glowing white hair and lilac-like oculars, that resembled the other figure's one eye that stood before them. The male in front of him soon indicated that he was not from a village and the contents of their mission. However, what really caught his attention was that this Ban said that she was from Kirigakure. He felt his heart skip a beat and intensity flood his body. He despises that village for he feels they were the ones that had the direct hand in destroying his home and killing everyone he knew. The reason why he came to this point. He noticed the village emblem on one of the attackers before he could flee. At the time, he didn't know what it was until he started the academy and learned about the other countries and the villages that are held within.
Akaime quickly threw on a facade and kept up a warm smile, "I'll head over to the snack station and see if I can pick up on some inquiries about the dubious activities. Once I hear anything, I'll let you both know," Akaime told as he gave them subtle wave off and headed towards the entrance.
The Chinoike found himself at one of the snack stands that had an assortment of sweet and sour candies, and several types of desserts. While the stand was relatively simple, the snacks were far more sophisticated and apparently free upon entry. He didn't know why they just didn't have them on a shelf for the players to grab once they came in. Maybe it was that many of these individuals could be greedy and take more than their fair share.
A few moments went on and Akaime gave away mostly dango's and mochi's with little to no chocolate type sweets. It wasn't too bad doing this except from the undressing of eyes that the a few of the newcomers did to him did give him a boost of confidence. While he did enjoy the attention, he acted as if he was shy about the constant gazes and compliments. It was similar to how his life back home was. Sometimes, it could get annoying. People only really know him on surface level and thank he had it easy growing up with a noble family in Ketsu, when it wasn't easy at all. In fact, let alone the trauma from his past, when he arrived there, he couldn't speak their language and had to learn it.
Through his thoughts, he almost missed overhearing the conversation that was happening in front of him. Apparently, creeps have infiltrated this place are leaving random, unsolicited notes to individuals. He figured a place this size would bound to have people like that, thus why he was hired. He supposes it is time to go find the others and tell them about his findings.
As he was walking back to look for them, a transaction caught his eye. Well, it was more one-sided than both parties giving something in return. A man, quite attractive, but also very suspicious as he gave a girl a note and then fully disappeared. Upon witnessing the girl's reaction, he could tell that it was another one of those notes. So, this man must be the culprit, or one of many. He needs to put a stop to him. But where did he go? Now, the search was on.
Well, the search has ended. He thought it would've been harder to find this guy, but it seems he has no shame and doing it without a care. He was giving another person a note, did he have replicas of the same note and just passing it around. Just gross. Giving out a sigh, he walked up next to the man and softly laid his hand on his shoulder. The man's reaction was surprisingly calm as he turned towards the blonde.
"Ooo, what do we have here?" He said in a deep, raspy tone.
"I...erm...I'm not very good at this," Akaime said as he formed a blush upon his cheeks and looked at an adjacent angle towards the ground.
"Awe, pretty thing, you don't have to be shy. Tell me what you want. What you really want," he said as he carassed the Chinoike's face. Akaime could feel his Ketsuyrugan activate as he gave a smile towards the ground as he felt his face being touched.
"O...okay. I want you...want you...want you to look at me." Akaime said as he showed his blood-like eyes towards the man, locking him in a stare. Upon contact, his genjutsu was already in full effect on the man. Digging deep into his mind. His memories. Akaime began to alter them into what this man should be doing. That is going home. It didn't take long for the influence to take hold as the man completely forgot what he was about to do and why he was there.
"Uh, what's going on." The man said in a confused state.
"It seems you've had too much to drink, and you said you were heading home." Akaime enlightened him on false pretenses.
"You must be right; I don't even remember being here." He said as he was scratching his head before taking off and leaving the premises.
"Hm. Well, there's one. I wonder who the others are holding up." Akaime said to himself as he went to search for the team.

Security wasn't the only thing Ban was hired for. Apparently, they needed the same stuff that was spying on suspicious individuals they also needed to run a snack bar. This was one of the things Ban was the least excited for. It was good for information gathering to play a part, but as a minimum wage food service worker?! This was beyond Ban's work and a waste of her talents.
Ban was forced to place her hammer behind the snack bar counter to not spook any potential casino guests from getting a snack. She huffed and leaned on the stand, placing her head on her hands as she waited for people to start lining up for snacks. She wasn't the only one working the snack stands, Akaime was also working one. No one was showing up in Ban's snack lines. They would briefly look at the snacks she had but after they saw Ban, they quickly turned away from her to another snack stand. While Ban's body language showed off more aggressive tones, Akaime's was warm enough for people to actually approach him. Unfortunately, it made some people too comfortable.
The Hozuki noticed that a man approached him, clearly intoxicated, stumbling towards the young boy. He harassed and assaulted the boy's face. Akaime played along for a moment, but it was obvious to Ban that he was uncomfortable. She leaned down and gripped her hammer, ready to slam the creep's face into the ground. As she continued to watch, Akaime's eyes changed from a normal iris to a strange divided one with a red hue. Ban had never seen something like that before. The man, already under the influence of alcohol, seemed to be placed into a trance and walked away from Akime. Ban placed down her hammer and went to Akime.
"What was that? I saw that guy come over to you. Did you do something to him with your eyes?" Ban contained her questions silently with just Akaime so no one could eavesdrop. "I was about 10 seconds from slamming that creep's head into the ground." Despite being a Kiri Shinobi, Ban attempted to show no aggression towards Akaime approaching him. Instead, she was sympathetic and tried to check in on him.
The Hozuki was a woman, and with that, she got her fair share of harassment from men trying to get with her. She never had the patience to deal with those kinds of creeps. Back in Kiri, the barmen that would try that with her ended up waking in a hospital by morning.

It wasn't long at all. Only mere seconds before Akaime was approached by the Kirigakure ninja known as Ban. It seems she was watching in the distance...watching him. Maybe not. The interaction between him and individual from before was one they were looking out for, so maybe he shouldn't be over thinking it at all. What happened to his family was over a decade ago and she wasn't much older than him. He definitely would've remembered a child running around, murdering his clansmen. He shouldn't detest all of Kirigakure shinobi, but how could he not? Maybe in the future, he will find some answers. Right now, he is squadded up with her, so she is his comrade as of right now.
"Ah, you mean my Ketsuyrugan, my family's bloodline limit. All I did was erase his memories and told him to get on home. Nothing too serious." Akaime said with a smile towards the female.
"Well, I'm glad I have protector when I need it." Akaime soften his eyes while letting out a soft chuckle at his response.
"Anyway, that was the only tip I got from working those stands. However, the party is about to begin for the night. Shall we head to the bar, and then mingle our way around to keep watch of the party and see if we will have to intervine with anything that is creepy or disturbing?" Akaime asked his fellow party member. To him, it sounded like a logical plan of action, but he was wanting to see if she had anything to offer. Hopefully, she would join him into heading to the bar.
"I will have the yuzushu," Akime requested to the stationary bartender behind the counter. Giving a quick nod, he quickly made his drink. The citrus liquor is one of his favorites. While he fancied more traditional homebrewed sprites, this mixed one is in the top. A soft smile, and generous tip, the Chinoike took his drink. The liquid inside the glass was that of a faded yellow. Taking his straw, he swirled the ice cubes in a circular motion before taking a small sip. A warm sensation made its home into his abdomen as the sour flavor engulfed his tastebuds. Giving a subtle moan, he turned his gaze to onlook the crowd. Akaime didn't prefer to drink on the job but if he were to blend in with these people, he had to act the part. While his drink was definitely alcoholic, it was that of a softer tone. So, he wouldn't get drunk at all, maybe a little buzz if he drank it fast enough.

Re: Do shinobi and casinos really mix?

Jupiter pulled the lever on the big red box that was the slot machine. He had put in a rusted coin he picked up in the streets of the Hidden Sand. To his amazement, a unique message displayed on the rectangular screen above the slots, and the machine began to blare alarms. 'ALERT! FRAUDULENT COIN DETECTED. PEASANT COIN FROM SUNAGAKURE STILL DUSTED WITH SAND' A spinning red light popped up on top of the machine, and sounded sirens as it blared loudly. Jupiter cringed, panicking a little as he held the machine, shaking it. When nothing worked, he used his ERF - twitching the muscles on his fingers with unparalleled force to break into the ether, and subdue the machine from a different realm of physicality. He stopped the lights and its blaring horns, and scrambled the message on the screen into a static white noise. The slots began to spin wildly, sounding cha chings. Then a hand attached to a lever extended out from inside the box, and Jupiter shook its hand with a firm handshake. 'I MADE A NEW FRIEND' The message read on the screen turned green when it came back to life. 'FRIENDS GET THE GOOD SLOTS. WOULD YOU LIKE A WINNING STREAK? YES OR NO'
Jupiter's eyes rolled into the back of his skull as he began to recite prophetically, speaking almost in tongues as his tongue seemed to move on its own, guided by the words bestowed upon him in real time by a revelation from above. "The faithful find friendship in the most unlikely of places, even in the cold, metallic grip of the red slot machine in St. Valentine's Casino. They shook its hand, feeling a strange connection to the inanimate object, and as they play, they share a bond of trust and goodwill. But when the machine offers them a winning streak, they refuse, knowing that such favors would be unjust to the other players in the casino. For they live by a code of fairness and integrity, guided by their faith and their respect for the lives and deaths of their fellow men. And so they part ways with their new friend, content in the knowledge that they have made a loyal friend, and that their creed still compels them to do what is right, no matter the cost, no matter how much time has past. Amen." He formed another cross on his chest as a boy with a weapon much too big for his frame began to speak rudely to him.
"My son, what compels you to make such violent threats to your fellow man? I am but a humble pilgrim, seeking to find the essence of my vices so that I may overcome them. Do you have a minute to talk about our lord and savior Jashin?"
Before the man in the black robe could spit out another revelation to follow up, the metallic arm of the slot machine placed its hand on his shoulder. When he looked back, a message on the screen now read. 'HELP ME.'
Jupiter scratched his beard, and placed his hand on the metallic box. Try as he might, he could not use Psycho Mind Transmission to read its mind. Perhaps its sentience was of a different breed, or the ascetic simply did not have the capacity to read the metal box. He grabbed the lever, and twitched it a couple of times, getting the slots behind the panels to spin.
The first panel came to a stop, sounding a loud cha ching. It showed a caricature of a figure wearing a bandit mask, with a wicked smirk on its face. The second spun even faster, before ringing louder. It showed a very obvious black bomb with a lit fuse. The third one spun the fastest, and when it came to a screeching halt it was a self portrait of the slot machine. The message above now kept blinking. It read in bright red, 'EVERYWHERE.... EVERYWHERE....... EVERYWHERE....... "
