Keep One Eye Open

Mission:

The bright sun of Otogakure shone brightly through the window on the face of the young Uchiha who was still sleeping. The red haired Uchiha woke up with sleep in his eyes. He wiped both of his eyes and from his bed he could feel the extreme heat of the weather. It wasn't a great morning to start off with, but still the young Uchiha had to rank up soon. His ambition to join the Sound Ninja 5, the elite group of shinobi of his village and to be the Otokage's bodyguard gave him the motivation to get up from his bed. When the young Genin completed the required amount of missions, he would be considered for the Chunin Exam, which wasn't far away. The Uchiha had recently completed one of the B Ranked Mission with Tatsuya and Mubu, which means he only had to do 2 more in order to reach his goal.

Appearance:

The young aspiring Genin took a cold shower to wash off the heat from his body.  After taking his shower, he started drying himself and wore his usual attire of black clothing with purple belt. Then he would adorned the purple scarf left behind by his late mother and wrapped it around his neck. Not only that, he could see the earring shining upon the mirror that he received from the Otokage during the Team Sonata meeting. He had the urge to be steps ahead of his two other teammates, since Hanzo was a cautious person he didn't want to have any loose ends. He also felt that it was a mistake to show his Mangekyo Sharingan during the introduction, even though it was unexpected as he narrated his tragic past. Nonetheless, the cat was out of the bag. Now his aim was to become stronger and keep the reputation of being the adopted son of the Otokage, thanks to his kind nature.

With conviction in his heart, the young Uchiha left his house and walked towards the Otokage Mansion, where the Mission Board is located. Hanzo stood 1 meter away from the Mission Board that was filled with requests. He scanned through the Mission Board and one of the mission sheets captured his attention. He ripped the mission sheet to have a closer look. As he read through the details, he understood that it was a reconnaissance mission to check on a nearby bandit camp regarding the level of danger it is for the local population. The mission also required multiple shinobi as the mission rank was higher. Hanzo ripped one of the mission sheets and kept it within his pocket. He knew that this mission would not be easy and that battle was impossible to avoid. This made the young Uchiha excited but he promised himself not to use the Mangekyo Sharingan or show it to anyone else, to keep it a secret and to avoid being a target.

As he reached the nearby bandit camp, he was about 100 meters away. He ran up a tree for a higher vision and waited for his mission partners to arrive. He wondered “Who else would be joining me?”.

The morning affairs of the Forgemaster were standard upon this day. Waking up, getting dressed, grabbing their mace and headband for the affairs of the day. There was much to work on and towards within the business realm of Otogakure but there was a presence most foul that needed addressing and Quinn was acutely aware. The problem was that there as a need for assistance to the original task from what Quinn understood. They had seen the posting of it the day before and saw that it was likely to be grabbed the next morning. With their hunch correct, Quinn asked the standing official which direction did the person who grabbed the mission went. Making their approach as stealthily as possible, Quinn made sure not to spoke the mission members that they were going to be coordinating with in this effort. Simple and easy was the task with multiple avenues of approach. Once Quinn neared the location described, they noticed a familiar figure standing in a tree getting a better line of vision for the objective. Hearing the question with the unsuspecting Uchiha perched up above, Quinn gave a sly grin.

"I shall Hanzo." Quinn chirped out quietly enough for the boy to her them. Upon his recognition of the voice, the Forgemaster would give a wave as a hand rested on the head of the mace that they had on their hip ready for action if needed. "Figured anything out? What's your current assessment?" Quinn pressed the young genin who had been ambitiously eager to start without leaving much indication of what was needed of others back on the mission board. Listening to whatever Hanzo said, Quinn would ponder greatly before adding in, "Likely should wait. One or two more. Better options. Better chances." The Blacksmith added in as they positioned themselves behind the tree that Hanzo was in respect to the bandit camp located 100m away. It had been some time since Quinn last saw the greenhorn Uchiha. It was back when they themselves were only a student at the academy but now they stood equals to him. Knowing it had been some time, Quinn made a mental note to try to connect with Hanzo a bit more after this potentially. They knew those with ambition were always likely to need support.

As Mubu woke up in the morning, he did what he now does each morning: check his mail for missions. Now that he took life a bit more seriously, hew wanted to be part of the actions, to go in adventures and feel alive by being a core element of the hidden sound village. As he got ready in the morning, Mubu got to his mailbox and saw a letter, the paper pale green with a note printed on it! Yes! A mission! He read it quickly, standing in briefs outside right at the mailbox, seemingly attracting the gaze of the teens and young ladies of the neigborhood, but concentrated still on the letter. The mission was to investigate a bandit camps and a patrol that previously was missing by taking this very mission. This would prove to be chalenging, as bandits can be numerous, easily overwhelming the ninja. He would need others shinobi of the sound. Hopefully, later in the letter, it was marqued too that both Quinn and Hanzo were already hired for the very same mission! Mubu got ready in a hurry, and left.

As he arrived after travelling the road for a few hours, smile all the way up, playing his flute as he walked the way towards the camp, Mubu looked around him to be sure he wasnt followed or walking into an ambush. He carried on his back the little girl's shaped puppet, his favorite instrument of the Ninja arts. As such, he delved into the woods, and saw from afar Hanzo and Quinn talking, up in the trees. Mubu always being one for spectacle and theather, as well as entrance with panache, he climbed into the trees, higher than Hanzo, and, sneaking to get close, jumpscared hanzo by hanging upside down above him, only his head popping in Hanzo vision to say: ''BOOO! AHAHAHAH! Hello red eye boy! And you too grandma Quinn! Hope you are all ready for that mission cause I am PUM-PED! WHOOOHOOOO! Quinn, hope you brought lunch like a good parent, im quite hungry pleassseeee.''  would say Mubu in a funny tone, laughing and messing with them, this time without the sarcastic arrogant face, but with a big smile of a clown, trying to mess with them in a friendly way instead of mockery.

As Hanzo was camping on the tree, he heard a familiar voice that responded to him. "Hey Quinn, good to see you joining the team!" the young Uchiha exclaimed. "As per my assessment, it looks like there's quite a bit of bandits around the camp. I formulated a plan, we have to deal with the bandits, help the injured and scout around to check if there are any other threats left, but that means we would need one more person".

Just as the Uchiha was saying that he could hear someone playing the flute, and all of a sudden Mubu appeared upside down and as usual was ecstatic and loud. Mubu has always been quite noisy and dramatic but since they had prior experience together in mission, he knows that he can count on him. "Hey Mubu, I was just telling Quinn that we each have a path to take regarding our mission. It would be easier to complete it separately than together. I'll be dealing with the bandits while Quinn will help the injured. That means Mubu, you will be scouting the bandit camp. Let's do this and meet up here again in two hours!".

Hanzo gave a moment for the rest of the team to adjust to his plan. Just as the Uchiha was ready to move out, he could hear multiple ambushers coming towards them. "Quinn and Mubu, time for you two to move out. I'll handle these guys. Get back safe!" the Uchiha voiced. Once his teammates headed to their part of the plan, Hanzo activated his Sharingan and took out his Tanto from his back with his right hand. “I should get a new weapon from Quinn” Hanzo thought to himself. Five shinobis clad in black appeared before him. “Shall we begin?” Hanzo taunted them since he could see that they were strong, but not as strong as him.

The five of them in unison unsheathed their sword and came in a formation to slash Hanzo one by one. The Uchiha thanks to his visual prowess was able to swiftly and elegantly maneuver each and every strike at the last moment to conserve his energy, in case any more of their friends joined it. While maneuvering around the strike, the Uchiha would slash the ambushers as soon as he evaded their attacks. Hanzo managed to incapacitate four of the attackers successfully. As there were two still remaining, the Uchiha would cast his Sharingan Genjutsu on both of them simultaneously and slash their heads off while they were under his nightmare. He would then deactivate his Sharingan. As the ambushers were now dead, he would place their bodies behind a bush and wait for his comrades. Once his mission teammates were to arrive, he would explain to them on what happened during their absence and acknowledge their actions taken upon the path decided.

Hearing Mubu show up gave a small smile to Quinn's face, "Looks like mayhem." They simply stated as Quinn offered a knuckle sandwich to Mubu in response if they had brought lunch for the group. It was nice to see one of her teammates active in the village outside of their standard responsibilities as team members. There was much to do to help secure the Land of Sky and handling banditry near home was a huge priority for everyone involved. Hanzo lighting up when Quinn spoke also brought a smile to the Forgemaster. It had been some time for the two to have met and Quinn was excited to see the young shinobi's capabilities. Taking on a more forward and leadership role brought Quinn a genuine smile, as seeing growth from the younger ones was great news to see let alone hear. Even Mubu who was like a week-old sandpaper left in the sun covered in dirt had started to become more cordial in his own way, less abrasive and more friendly.

Although discussions were likely needed to make a full determination on what to do for the mission, Quinn did not have an idle mind in that matter. There were a few things to be wary of with this situation which were the possibility of an Ambush, some extent of scouting would likely also be needed and required, then there was the shinobis that still needed to be attended to by the group. Mentally assessing the capabilities last they checked of the trio, none of them were medical shinobi so whoever navigated that route would need to be able to help move them. Knowing this knowledge led Quinn to believe the best avenue would likely be to have them take care of the injured. From there it left Hanzo and Mubu to handle the likely ambush and scouting. Each had their own strengths and merits with their approach to scouting. This left a small conundrum that would need to be handled as outside of the ambush there was high chances and likelihood for more to be within the area. Between the two, Mubu would likely be best to handle a scouting situation due to their puppetry allowing them to sweep the area a bit better than Hanzo. On the other hand, Hanzo's sharingan would prove useful in scouting as well as should he choose to use the ability of his clan's heritage. Translating those thoughts towards the alternative route as well would give them both a leg-up and credit/merit for either option.

With the determination of action called by Hanzo, Quinn nodded as they too sensed the incoming attack. Without skipping a beat or saying anything more, the Forgemaster darted out concentrating on their breathing to help heighten their abilities for this. Handling the rescue side of the mission, Quinn assessed the other shinobi that had been on the original mission and checked on their wounds first while Hanzo dealt with their ambushers and Mubu handled operating the area to get a feel if there were more and handled if that was the case. Leaving their captives alone boded well for the older shinobi of the bunch. Throwing one of the three over their shoulder, Quinn grabbed the other two by the waist and started darting away from the area. Handling the three, two of them protested as they could have walked but by the time they started moving, it was obvious that Quinn was going to be their fastest ticket out of their failed mission and accepted their fate as luggage.

As soon as Quinn moved to leave the area, a lone rogue bandit decided it would be best to handle Quinn the moment they picked up the other shinobi. It was a sudden war of attrition with Quinn on the losing side due to being unable to use their arms with the two. "Apologies." They stated immediately dropping them as a blade came swinging for Quinn, their reflexes allowing them to draw their mace as a loud metal clang occurred and echoed in the small clearing. A swift kick and then an approach by Quinn allowed follow-up strikes to meet their intended targets on the bandit. Refraining from expanding their opponent's injuries beyond what was given, the Forgemaster made it clear their intent was not to maim or kill the man. The intent was clear to capture as the Red-Headed Genin aimed for joints and a swift swing to the skull giving the man a solid concussion as his awareness of the world slipped away. Quinn would need to relay this to the group once they came back together later down the road. Grabbing the two who were much more cooperative to the genin, Quinn set their sights on getting the trio a safer distance from where they were currently located, well beyond the initial range of where Hanzo, Mubu, and themselves had initially met. This way there were fewer chances to be caught up in another skirmish or risk further injury to the individuals they were tasked with saving. Quinn gave them a thumbs up.

Once they were a safe distance, Quinn helped the abled-bodied to assess injuries more properly and get them ready to fully move out and back to the village proper. "Stay low for now. Too dangerous without others." They whispered to the trio and they nodded in affirmation of the course of action presented by the Red-headed Genin. With that done and set, all that was left was to get them to regroup with the rest of their team and then proceed back to the village by escorting the team they rescued. It was not difficult and Quinn agreed that the best course of action for the trio who came today to save the other was to split their capabilities. It was efficient and proper and as such they were able to get through some of the difficulty without overstepping or getting in the way of each other. It would be a different time that they would learn to cooperate in combat, especially with Mubu as a teammate. From there with the three patched up and ready to move after some time, Quinn lead them back to regroup with Hanzo and eventually Mubu.

Once the three were gathered, Quinn would report back to the other two about the status of the missing shinobi alongside their ability to return on their own feet rather than a need to be carried. It was a simple trek back to the village and Quinn was certain if any of them dragged behind that they could help get them back faster. Assessing the other two's abilities from the first few times of interacting, it would appear to them that Quinn was in a good mood for the day. Even with the blood that was shed and saved, the Forgemaster seemed to not mind any of the extra antics that were ongoing by Mubu or Hanzo should more occur. Once back to the village, Quinn offered to escort the three back to the hospital to help get them fully checked out and not just bandaged up by shotty field medicine. Leaving the other two to report back on their findings and completion of the task at hand. There was not much else for the blacksmith to do upon that day and such left shortly after dropping them off.

As Quinn offered a punch in the mouth to Mubu who jokingly asked if she had brought lunch, he immediately started to laugh. Even if Mubu and Quinn where totally different, they still had fun together,and made a good team. Hanzo too worked well with Mubu, the two young man having previously done a mission together before. As they each got their specific assignements to the mission, Mubu was kinda disapointed that his only assignement was to scout the camp. Oh well, it could always be worse, at least he was out there doing something for the village, living a part of the action. 

As he nodded to agree, he quickly rose back into the trees he came from, and started to run towards the camp. Jumping from branch to branch, Mubu had his puppet following him beside him, jumping from the branch too as if it was another ninja accompanying him. As the camp wasnt that far away, Mubu arrived in advance, seeing the seemingly empty camp bellow, himself highly perched up in the trees. The camp wasnt really active, and Mubu scaned with his eyes what he could see. There was a tent with a campfire, and boxes of stolen goods around it. With the quantity of gear and camping stuff, these bandits and criminal couldnt be more than 10, thats for sure. This was a small force, nothing too serious. Mubu stayed there a few hours, waiting for the gang to come back, or to signal anything to obad to the group, who in that case would gather around again to reformulate another plan of attack. 

There wasnt that much, but Mubu noticed a single bandit still there waiting at the camp to guard it, should his camarade comes back. This was about to get funny. Mubu dropped from above, performing the handseals in the air, and landed beside the man, right in front of him. The man tho, was totaly paralysed by Mubu jutsu. Having fun with this, Mubu got out his flute, and started to play annoyingly to the paralyzed man, all smile and giggle, traumatizing the poor bandit caught off guard. Mubu then stoped playing the flute, and started to talk to the man. ''So so so so soooo! Guess you are all alone now huh ? ahaAHAHAH! What a terrible idiot, to separate yourself from the group. The others are probably kicking your friend's ass as we speak by the way! Not as 'we' speak in fact, cause I am the only one technicaly speaking, but you get what I mean right? RIGHT? ahaAHHAH! I would present you to friends, but I have a way more interesting friend here with me that I want you to meet!'' Said Mubu to the victim in a maniac laughing voice, breaking his deep and suave normal personna to reveal a crazy and cruel maniac, ready to torture and torment his victims only for his own entertainment. As he got his puppet from the sky, the man still paralized, Do would land right in front of the man, between mubu and him.  At the end, Mubu brought his puppet close to the man, and activated his mechanism. As he was no more paralyzed, his body unfroze, only to get totaly wrecked form inside, the horrid sound waves hurting him from inside, making his whole digestive system rebel, as he fell on the ground convulsing and throwing up blood and bile alike. Laughing away at the misery of the man, Mubu left and got back to his team mates, telling them his part of the mission is done. They would then walk back towards the village, Mubu telling to his camarade what he did, proud of his horrible doing.
