Change In Leadership

Merlin was tired of being apart of a place that had no guidance. No leaders. No progress. So he went to the appropriate building and put in his declaration to become the new Village Leader. Now according to procedure if no one challenged him on his claim he would be effectively the new leader of Sakuragakure but deep in Merlin's bones he hoped someone would fight him on the claim. The room this took place in was only 10m by 10m and had a single entrance which was in front of Merlin who stood 7m from it, the single door was shut but not locked as Merlin wished to hear anyone's reasoning on why his claim shouldn't happen or to challenge him in general.

Fate had a subtle way of pushing the envelope for people. Some had simply waited for things to change and others made things change. On the eve of this auspicious day he could be seen wandering the village as he usually did, but something had caught his eye. One of his friends, his only friend currently, had been walking somewhere as if he had been on a mission. Curious. He would decide to wait for a few moments before following behind Merlin, at least a full 5 minutes. Dressed in his normal attire, he would have his sword, Corpse Roller, tied to his back. Shortly after Merlin had made it to the room, Shitai would be standing outside of the closed door looking at it with a smile before turning the knob and walking in. At first no words were exchanged before Shitai grabbed a chair and turned it to face the door. Sitting with his side to Merlin's right and Corpse Roller on Shitai's left he would rock the chair back and forth for a moment as if in thought. He knew no words would need to be exchanged between the two as he sat there and watched the door that he had closed again. Merely waiting to see if the pacifist would say anything in exchange.

With no rebuke on his claim. Merlin had become the new village leader. He looked at shitai, "well old friend looks like the place is ours. Shall we make it an actual place to be reckoned with?" He said with a smile that spoke of great things to come. With his first changes merlin ordered the change of password on the seals that prevented teleporting in and out of the village. Named shitai orochi a jounin of the village and branded the former village leader Chiharu a missing nin for his failure of leasing.
