A Successful Escape

Mission Details:

Hasumi awoke with a start, breathing heavy as she escaped some nightmare that had been plaguing her for hours. She gasped and looked about in the dark tunnel she’d been forced to reside in for the past few weeks, or maybe even longer. As she looked about, frightened,her mind began to slowly come together and remember her current predicament. After only a couple of moments Hasu found that she couldn’t even remember the dream or why it had frightened her so much, but the feeling of anxiety lingered as she slowly came back to reality.

As she began to fully wake up she remembered that this was going to be the day she would escape this place. The day prior she had managed to figure out the route out of these tunnels thanks to some bored monster men that had dragged her off to join them in a poker game, and she believed she had the route to the exit almost completely memorized.

The only thing that mattered now was trying to find a way to escape without being caught. She reached out to her creator and brother using her telepathic abilities to try and figure out a plan. Thankfully her brother and creator had both informed her of some special abilities that she had, that within her was a strange energy called chakra that allowed her to manipulate herself and the world around her. They informed her of a couple of moves that could be performed easily. Apparently the moves were basic, but she found them to be quite powerful in terms of their utility.

Thankfully her brother, Isamu, was able to rely to her a lot of important details on how the techniques would work against these chimera men that she would have to sneak around. Apparently the clone technique wouldn’t be much help against the mole men but was enough to fool the other types, while the substitution technique and transformation technique both seemed to be enough to fool any of them. Isamu also expressed a bit of concern about the idea working due to a fault of his, worried that by having used the ability himself he might have created an opportunity for their foes to learn about it. It seemed he wasn’t entirely sure if they had managed to deduce the functions of his technique however. They likely knew about substitution because he had to utilize that rather obviously in order to escape but he wasn’t sure if they understood that he had been transformed or if they had figured out the clone technique.

Isamu thanked her brother utilizing their telepathic bond, because switching frequencies and informing her creator that he was an unhelpful failure that didn’t deserve someone like Isamu. She didn’t get much of a response from him, he gave her a bit of additional info on the techniques in order to make sure she could perform them correctly but then asked if she would be willing to stay in the enemy encampment longer. Hasumi couldn’t believe his request and berated him further, not allowing him to explain his reasoning much at all as she mentally screamed at him for asking so much from her. As she began to lose steam her creator simply apologized and said he wouldn’t request something like that of her again, but Hasu had no intentions of forgiving the ludicrous request.

Taking a deep breath Hasu went over all of the information she had been provided, trying to come up with the best plan to navigate around the monster men without altering them and getting captured again. She believed that the first step would be to ensure that they didn’t think she had really left, and use the substitution technique to make a decoy. She wasn’t sure how long the technique could last but Isamu had said it had been invaluable during his failed rescue attempt, if she could maintain it until she had successfully left the ruins than Hasu believed it could prove the same for her escape as well.

Taking a deep breath Hasu would perform the hand seals for the technique, doing her best to perform the seals correctly as she made each one. Though she wasn’t experienced her chakra flowed as though it had a familiarity with the technique, instinctively expelling the necessary amount out of itself from Hasu and into a piece of rubble. The object changed shape and formed into Hasumi’s likeness, taking the form of her with her legs pulled up into her sweatshirt while she hugged them. It was hard to see the replica of herself in the darkness, but Hasu found it quite unsettling to hear herself breathing and crying from a different body.

Hoping that the technique would hold, Hasumi began the next phase of her plan. She quickly did the hand seals for the clone jutsu and transformed herself into a mole man with functional eyes. Now in a form similar to the mole men, Hasu found it easy to navigate through the tunnels without being accosted. She did her best to not draw suspicion as she moved, and either through skill or luck managed to make it to the end of the tunnel. As she reached the end however was when things started to get a bit scary.

The tunnel seemed to be under watch, a figure called out to Hasumi to stop as she made her way through the gate in her mole man form. As she continued she heard the mole man cry thief, and begin to call upon others to help catch Hasumi. As she ran she let her brother and creator know the situation, and was informed by Isamu that he had faced a similar situation when he had tried to enter the tunnel.

Not having time to muse on what that meant herself she’d let the boys figure it out while she ran for her life. It was difficult to move in this new body, but in all honestly she felt just as unfamiliar with her own. She moved slowly, worried that the mole men would catch up with her. It seemed the one calling for help hadn’t had anyone around though, and chased her until he stumbled and fell near the top of the tunnel.

For awhile it seemed like Hasumi might have been able to get away without further incident but some other types of monster men spotted her running and began to chase after her. Recalling her brothers advice Hasumi performed the hand seals for the Clone technique and created several copies of her transformed self. As she turned corners she had individuals break off from the pack until she was left alone again, but it seemed that all of the monster men had fallen for the bait. Successfully escaping the ruins, Hasumi would end her transformation and try and find a community of humans.
