Festival Preparation!

Hasumi was nervous, she'd never been to a festival before in her short life. She wasn't sure what to expect, or how to go about preparing for such an event. She was dismayed when she had discovered she couldn't simply wear the same simple outfits she normally went about in, and that she'd actually need to get some formal attire to be able to attend the festival without being judged. Hasumi wasn't sure what she was going to do, maybe Junko or Michiko could help her figure out what sort of outfit she should wear.

Leaving Junko's home in her normal attire, baggy grey pants and a simple blue t shirt, the young girl made her way through the village and toward the marketplace. She knew that preparations were going to begin for the festival soon and figured if she wanted any hope of understanding what to expect she'd want to help with that. Her village headband rested on her collarbone as she made her way to the village, giving a soft nervous smile and waving to the people who recognized her.

It didn't take long for Hasumi to arrive at the marketplace, surprised with how much work had been done already to convert it into a lavish festival grounds. Finding some of the workers, Hasu quickly got herself assigned to setting up some of the lanterns that would be lit up during the festival. Being rather short Hasu ended up having to find a ladder to carry around and make sure she could reach all of the places that needed a lantern hanging from them, dragging it along much to the amusement of some of the other workers. every once in a while someone offered to help her but occasionally the young girl could hear a few of the others laughing at her struggle.

Hasu continued despite her embarrassment, trying not to dwell on it as she continued about her task. As the young kunoichi continued working she tried to keep an eye out for Junko or any other fashionable woman walking about the area, hoping she could find someone who could give her some insight as to what she needed to wear. Unfortunately, the two men she was telepathically linked with were no help in that department, so she'd have to seek outside help if she didn't want to make a fool of herself.

Rather early in the morning, before the sun rose Junko climbed out of bed and quickly did her morning routine. She had a rather busy schedule ahead of her and didn’t have much time to awaken as she got ready for the day fully. Junko would pull on a black sundress with red roses embroidered around the bottom, it’s straps would sit comfortably around her shoulders, exposing her collarbones slightly. As usual, she’d adorn herself with various red and gold jewelry though she’d attempt to keep it “minimal.” Her long black hair was tied neatly into a high ponytail, though her bangs continued to frame her face and a small purple diamond could occasionally be seen on her forehead.. She’d take a moment before leaving the apartment to make two blood clones of herself. Junko needed all the help she could get and absolutely wouldn’t be doing that technique out in public.


As she left her office, she’d collect a pair of sunglasses and a black parasol and head out into the village. A festival was rapidly approaching and there was still quite a bit left to do. Thankfully multiple people had signed up to help set up Sutageiza Koto for the upcoming event. Soon she’d enter the market square, just as the sun was rising in the sky. She found some people who had already gotten to work assembling the stands and hanging various decorations. Though she didn’t intend to do any amount of physical labor, she would be in a more managerial position.

Once she was noticed by one of the people she had instructed to put together the event, she was handed a clipboard with a list of tasks that needed to be completed before it got dark out. Quickly she’d get to work, ensuring that every detail could be as perfect as possible. This was one of the things Junko truly wanted to do in the village and she loved every minute of it. Around noon, she offered to buy everyone lunch as a thank-you for their volunteer work. Briefly, she gave a speech about how honored she felt by their aid and how she looked forward to their bright futures.

Time ticked by and now it was nearly sunset, most things on her list had been taken care of, mostly just finishing touches. It was then that she noticed a rather short, familiar-looking young woman. Upon further inspection, it was in fact her dear Hasu. Junko would immediately stop whatever she was doing and move her full attention to her. She looked to be carrying around a ladder and a few lanterns, which Junko would be confused by. Who in their right mind would have a child hang lanterns with a ladder when there were far safer tasks she could do?

Junko would sigh a bit before approaching, but once Hasu noticed her Junko would have her normal cheery demeanor. She’d offer her a hug, and as she pulled away she’d begin to speak.

”Oh Hasu I’m so happy you came! What do you think of the decorations and everything? It’s been kinda crazy here for the past few hours so excuse me if I seem a bit tired.”

Though she felt utterly exhausted and her head throbbed slightly, she knew she had to maintain appearances at least until she got home.

Hasu was finished with her task by the time she ran into Junko, dragging the ladder around as well as some spare lanterns as she looked for a place to store them. The work had been somewhat difficult for the short girl but she had persevered, not wanting to let the jokes of the other workers get to her. When she saw Junko though, Hasu gave up on finding a storage area and simply deposited the ladder and remaining lanterns on the ground as she rushed over to meet Junko and return the hug the woman offered. The young girl smiled as she embraced the woman who had taken her in and given her a home within the village, and listened as she began to speak after leaving the embrace.

"I've never seen a festival before but it looks nice as far as I can tell! I'm really excited to go to this one and see what it's like.. I just have one concern though. I have no idea what I'm going to wear, all I have ever worn is clothes like this." Hasu motioned to the blue t shirt and baggy grey pants she wore. Thankfully the young girl didn't look as grime covered and pathetic as the first time Junko and her had met, but her sense of style definitely hadn't improved since her arrival in Moon. She'd been learning how to style her hair and keep herself clean after missions but had been to nervous to stray from the simple tomboyish style she'd adopted since her creation in the ruins of Tengakure.

"Is there any chance I could get you to go shopping with me, and help me figure out what sort of outfit I should wear? I'd really appreciate it. I know you said you're tired, but we're already in the market and I just finished putting up all the lanterns I had to place. Please?"

If Junko gave in to Hasumi's vain plea the excited teenager would grab Junko's hand and lead her off toward some of the clothing shops, asking her a thousand questions on how the hell fashion worked.

Junko was a bit taken aback by her simply releasing the various things the young woman held in her hands. Regardless, she’d still go in for a hug and inquire about how she believed the festival had been coming along. Hasu then informed her that she had never been to a festival before, though she was excited to go. Continuing on she’d explain that she was unsure of what to wear since she really only had the attire she was currently wondering. Junko couldn’t help but feel bad for the bad girl and would reach out to pat the top of her head gently if she allowed.

She’d offer the young girl an empathetic smile as she tried to decide what to do next. The funny thought of Hasu borrowing one of her dresses crossed her mind briefly, though she would refrain from mentioning it as she continued speaking. Junko would nod slowly as Hasu asked if she would take her shopping to find something fitting the occasion. The exhaustion would immediately leave her eyes as she now beamed with excitement. She often forgot that Hasu was a clone, and hadn’t exactly had the same experiences as a girl her age so she was more than happy to help guide her through life.

”You know I’m happy to help when I can my dear, so please ask anything of me. Let me quickly pawn this off on somebody, then I’ll show you a few of my favorite shops. I believe Nariko also does some of her shopping in this district.”

Thankfully she was able to excuse herself for the rest of the night without much issue, though a handful of people weren’t happy with her early exit. As the two of them began to leave, Junko would allow Hasu to take her hand with no issue. Any questions the young woman proposed would be answered with honest recommendations, suggestions, and excitement.
