New winds

Old News, New Beginnings.

Merlin had seen the village reach its moment of peace, no longer were there random strangers showing up. The bandits had been culled to the point that even the common person could defend themselves from the random criminal. The point of the Village had been achieved and with it Merlin’s tenure as the Village Leader was no longer needed not in the capacity that it had been prior.

Merlin had always been someone who simply wanted to enjoy his life and help those around him and with that fulfilled in this place he felt it was time to move on and resume his traveling of the world like he had prior to joining Sakuragakure. He made the orders needed and begun the disbandment of the village in the regards of being a Shinobi Village and allow it to return back to being one held by the common people. His fellow Shinobi would return to their lives as they saw fit and he wished them the best in their endeavors. Once all that headache had been taken care of he had his eyes on this interesting bit of information that he had gained from one of his many sources of information. There was apparently a new Minor village building its foundation and influence out on the island of Moon. While he didn’t know the exact location of the place at least he had a place to search and as someone who use to wander day to day for the next adventure it would be a nice change of pace to return to such a life.

Merlin hung up his Village Leader cloak and bade the office of his that he had spent so many nights in trying to get things up to speed and functioning for the last time. He hoped that the new leader would enjoy it as much as he had, even leaving behind some of his favorite tea leaves as a parting gift to the civilian that would eventually have it as their own place of work.

With that done it was now time for him to pack what he needed from his home in the Village. He didn’t have much as he didn’t wish to clutter his life but he had gained more in the place that he had thought. With time he had packed up what he needed and started to head out the now freely open gates. No longer was there a Shinobi guard to check every person for a threat and no longer did he notice any Anbu moving in the shadows as he walked about the place.

It was a bittersweet moment but one that was going to happen regardless of his desire. Now he simply needed to make it to the coast and find a ship that was heading where he wanted to make his travel.

It took hours to arrive there but as someone not in a rush Merlin enjoyed the views and sights he saw on the way and with the view of the blue ocean in front of him a smile spread on his face. Now he found his ship and paid the captain the fee for the travel and settled on the deck ready to open a new chapter on his life.

Who would have guessed that fate and science could be so deeply intertwined? Numerous potential subjects for his experiments surrounded the ambitious, toxic king. As he considered the incredible opportunities before him, he pondered who his first victim would be. With an empire about to emerge, it seemed only right that its foundations be laid on the outskirts of the tranquil village of Sakuragakure.

In that peaceful setting, he spotted his first target boarding a boat. A sly grin crossed his face as he realised that everything he desired at that moment was within his reach. The toxic king set his sights on his first victim, scanning from deck to deck until he found the perfect ship. Without delay, he closed the distance between himself and the person in charge of the vessel, eager to set his ambitions into motion.

The man locked eyes with the captain on the shore and signalled toward Merlin.

"You there! Get off the boat now. We need to search for you right away."

Merlin watched this strange man approach the ship he was on. Merlin recognized the type, those that wanted to throw around their weight and try and order people around when they think they got an upper hand. Some thoughts ran through Merlin’s head on how he would approach any issue that could come up, would he fight this person if they caused a fuss or would he simply stay back and wait it out or would he just try and mitigate the problem if he is able too?

The decision came when the man approached the captain of the ship still on shore and yelled while pointing at Merlin himself saying something about they needed to search him. Merlin had lived in this area for quite some time and was once the Village Leader of the nearby village he had a good memory of who was in charge of the ports around here. Deciding that today is a day he would rather continue on without an issue and figuring this was a scam to try and shake him down for some ryo he simply took out a large amount of ryo from his wallet, tied it so it wouldn’t scatter in the wind and tossed it easily onto the shore at the man’s feet. The amount was of 150,000 ryo, more than enough to let the man do whatever he wanted and hopefully spare any others from the bother of being messed with as well.

Though Merlin did this he was more than ready for this to turn into a fight if need be and should the man push his luck further he would gladly engage.

Kansen couldn't believe his eyes as a large sum of money was thrown towards him. It felt like a dream come true. Although many ninjas had attempted heists before, this one would be remembered as daring and successful. This windfall was all his, and nothing could stop his plans. He bent down to collect the bounty at his feet - a staggering 150,000 Ryo, a fortune that would establish him as a major solider. With a sly smirk aimed at Merlin, he made a cutting remark.

"A loyal servant always obeys his master's commands. Bon voyage," he said, patting the captain's vessel, indicating the completion of his task.

Raising his voice as he took deliberate steps, covering a distance of 35 meters, he turned around and called out to ensure his words would reach to Merlin.

"Inform me if there are further opportunities on the horizon, my dear subject," he exclaimed, his laughter ringing out with a wide grin.

With determination in his stride, he began his journey towards the captivating lands of Sakura, bidding farewell to Merlin and the captain.
