Backstory:  Sun Release is the Advanced Element of the Shibasaki Clan, and is deeply connected to the clan’s bloodline, having the same “nebulous” past. The gift of manipulating the aspects of the Sun and the unique chakra nature of Sun Release were passed by a mysterious stranger to young Honoka Shibasaki offspring. Over many years, members of the Shibasaki lineage studied and practiced the control, mastery and connection of this unique element via the clan’s doujutsu, the Tengan. Lots of that knowledge was lost due to the clan’s demise in the old Funkagakure no Sato, but Sun Release, its many techniques and the clan knowledge over it remain alive in the Shinobi world, as the Shibasaki clan survived, being now scattered all over world.

How it is used: Sun Release, also known as Solar Release, embodies all that the Sun is capable of and what it represents, having techniques inspired by the Sun's temperature, light, radiation and moniker as the "source of all life" on Earth. Primarily, they revolve around the creation and manipulation of “Solar Chakra”. This form of chakra although has some shared properties and visual similarities to Fire chakra techniques (as Fire chakra is part of Sun Release composition) it differs from Katon in its very basic composition. While Fire Release techniques are obviously about the use of fire and its variations through the fire nature of the user's chakra, Sun Release techniques utilize this advanced nature transformation by reproducing the same mechanism as the Sun uses to generate energy, heat and light. The Sun contains a lot of hydrogen in its composition, being held by strong gravity. As a result, the pressure and temperature inside are very high, causing hydrogen atoms to collide with each other, in what is called nuclear fusion. This process releases enormous amounts of energy in a non-stop chain reaction. Taiyōton chakra nature pretty much mimics this process, on a way smaller scale obviously, by combining Fire Chakra (Temperature) and Yang Chakra (physical energy control, in a molecular level) the user is able to replicate the process of nuclear fusion that occurs in the Sun and generate such "Solar Chakra", characterized by intense temperatures, huge ammounts of UV radiation and a very bright shine, having all the same unique characteristics as the energy generated by the Sun itself.

This Solar Energy and the aspects that make it up (temperature and energy manipulation) can be used in a variety of ways, as Sun Release is a very versatile Element. It's mainly used in ninjutsu  techniques using the Solar Chakra destructive high temperatures, said by legends to be "as hot as the sun", to damage, burn and sometimes disintegrate foes, being able to give many shapes and forms to this energy. By manipulating the Solar Chakra, the user can also use the Sun Light created by their Solar Chakra and its properties in a variety of techniques. Sun Release can also be applied in infusion techniques of weapons and/or taijustu, in addition to enhancing-type techniques, using the Solar Chakra energy generation for the user own benefit. Lastly, it can also be applied in Iryojutsu techniques, due to the "life-granting" properties of the Yang Release and all the "life-granting" properties inherent to the Sun itself.
