Backstory: Black Lightning is a unique Lightning Release utilized only by the strongest of Raikages, who passed it down only to their most trusted shinobi. Not much is known about it, but as the name suggests, the lightning produced is black. Traditionally, shinobi who learned this element received a distinct '雷­' (Kaminari) tattoo to signify their mastery over Lightning.  Only a select few are ever allowed to receive this tattoo or wield this element.

How it is used:  At first glance, the element is no different in size and matter composition than that of regular lightning, the only clean and concise difference between them lying within the obsidian colored tone of this one. Although Black Lightning has no external change besides its hue, its capabilities are much more enhanced and refined. It is unmistakably a method designed to kill.

The advanced element takes many shapes and forms. Its lightning is said to be one hundred times more potent than Lightning Release. It is primarily an offensive method that takes the shapes of various animals or animal parts to signify its ferocity.

The potency behind the voltage in its electrical currents is much stronger than its base element, allowing it to paralyze with fear or even sever things with which it makes contact. It is able to slash, pierce and burn things in its path, causing both internal and external damage. When Black Lightning is being wielded, the area around the caster often becomes dark and ominous.


Special Traits:

1. Ride The Lightning Black Lightning can fortify Lightning Release techniques. Black Lightning amplifiers, infusions and enhancers can extend their effects to Lightning release techniques. Effected Lightning release techniques take up the Black Lightning element and appearance, and lose their elemental advantages and disadvantages.
   
   
2. Raining Blood Black Lightning release techniques are much sharper than Lightning release techniques. Techniques of this element that deal damage can inflict Impact Force damage and thus have dismembering properties when their power meets or exceeds 100. Techniques with this trait will make mention of which parts of the technique will have this property.
   
   
3. Shock and Awe Black Lightning Release techniques can attack a target's chakra system and inflict a sense of fear deep into its victims hearts. Certain Black Lightning release techniques can inflict various paralysis effects based on a stat check for chakra instead of strength. Lightning release techniques that carry out stat checks, when fortified with Black Lightning, can change their checked stat to chakra.
