A Man at the Market Empty A Man at the Market

Fri Aug 30, 2024 5:05 pm
Joro woke to the sky casting a bright blue all around, with the sun's rays lighting the streets of Hoshigakure. Below his bed, he could hear the beginning of the markets, with the vendors selling all their services and goods. He knew he needed to go to the market for a few things. He mostly wanted food for the upcoming week but had an inkling for peaches and apples. He almost made a note to get treats for Stout. Although, he hunted for himself. Joro still likes to give him the occasion treat as he is currently his life companion.

Joro quickly got dressed in something more casual for this Saturday morning market. He hoped to remain low-key in his travels through the village as he didn't plan to do much else for the day besides some writing and reading. He fiddled with his bracelets, counting each bead as he tried to decide what to wear for the day. As he fiddled with his bracelets, he picked out some soft tan pants that were slightly baggy and comfortable while he planned his walk through the markets. To finish it off he threw on a soft white shirt and a slightly bigger long-sleeve shirt that was blue. Joro ran down the steps, grabbing his bag, saying bye to Stout and Ryo in hand.

He put his ryo in his pocket, and as he walked out the door he took a deep breath. He looked back above at his newfound home, which he had just recently purchased. He had finally made his way out of the small studio apartment he had been in ever since his parents died, or left him. He wasn't completely sure on which at this point and time. He looked at the list in his hand and made his way to the first stall he needed for his apples.

"Mr. Kobiashi! How are you today?" the young man said, happy to see the local fruit vendor. The vendor responded to Joro in kind, going over his prices for the day alongside the new fruit that he had been trying this summer. Joro hadn't had a chance to try them yet, so he snagged a few of them. And a dozen apples. With those in tow, he waved goodbye to Mr. Kobiashi, turning his direction further into the market around the corner from his home.

As Joro walked a little farther along he saw that the street split with vendors placing their temporary establishments in the middle. Joro took out a Ryo and flipped it. So he could decide on left or right. Heads for Right, Tails for Left. The coin landed on Tails, so Joro headed left. His bag was on his back and he walked with a calm atmosphere as his brain was occupied figuring out his schedule for the next week. He knew he had to prioritize training as the Nova Tournament would be right around the corner. And he wasn't one to want to be caught lacking when it came time to show his skills in front of the village.

As he walked a little farther down the street looking at the local vendors. He saw a man with dark black hair fast approaching him, with bright lavender eyes. He hadn't seen that color in his eyes since his one mission with Natsuki. A long while back. Interesting, the young man thought. The other man seemed slightly older than him no more than a few years. He seemed to be quite strong as he carried an air of strength but how. Joro could not say. As he walked towards the man he tried to figure out what to say as he had caught his curiosity. Until finally, he found something.

"Hello, names Joro. Lovely day we are having, right?" he said, putting on a simple smile so as not to come off too childish but enough to show he was a rather joyful individual. He extended his right hand out in greeting.

A Man at the Market Empty Re: A Man at the Market

Mon Sep 09, 2024 5:04 pm
Ayato strolled through the bustling market of Hoshigakure, his gaze shifting between the raucous preacher lamenting the gods' neglect and the myriad vendors hawking their wares. The preacher’s earnest, high-pitched voice sliced through the ambient clamor, denouncing the Kage’s plight beneath the avian shadow of corruption—a timeless, if jarring, spectacle.

In the heart of the market's chaos, Ayato moved with an air of restrained authority. His robes of stark white and deep black whispered elegance and control. The absence of the Kage hat and other regalia stripped his appearance of ceremonial grandeur, leaving only the raw simplicity of his attire.

A figure on the periphery caught his eye as he navigated the lively street. A young man with orange hair approached, his lavender eyes stirring a distant memory of a past mission with Natsuki. Curiosity sharpened, and Ayato shifted his focus fully to the approaching stranger.

The young man’s understated strength was palpable, though its source eluded immediate clarity. He seemed slightly younger than Ayato, yet the age gap felt insignificant against the backdrop of his presence.

When the young man greeted him, Ayato’s lips curled into a faint, amused smile. The directness of the approach was a welcome contrast to the usual market din.

Indeed, it is a fine day,” Ayato replied, his tone laced with a subtle warmth. He regarded the proffered hand with a mixture of curiosity and bemusement. “ It seems fate has a way of weaving paths together in the most unexpected ways. And here you are on this rather splendid afternoon. What brings you to the heart of Hoshigakure?

His eyes, sharp yet not unkind, met Joro’s with a mixture of intrigue and guarded interest. Ayato extended his hand to meet Joro's, but before their palms could clasp, the preacher’s voice rose in a sharp crescendo, slicing through the moment with its fevered cry.

Mark my words, good folk!” he bellowed, his gaze fierce and unwavering. “Tojo Yomiyama, the treacherous Lord of Aiso Island, shut his doors tight, waiting for fortune to favor him in the Hoshimura Rebellion. Now, he sits at the head of a long table, looking down upon us all with disdain.

The preacher continued, his voice dropping to an ominous whisper. “And what of his wretched grandson, Seto? A demon worshipper lost to the darkness gnawing at his soul! Beware, for the true enemies lie at our gates and within our ranks.

His gaze turned dark as he continued. “And let us not forget the ravenous vulture perched upon our Kage’s shoulders, its cruel talons stringing him like a puppet. The vulture’s shadow looms large, feeding on our fears and uncertainty. Its presence signifies that our struggles are far from over, and we remain pawns in a game we barely understand.

The preacher’s fervent warnings elicited mixed reactions—some market-goers frowned unease. In contrast, others shook their heads and returned to their errands, their attention waning as the preacher’s dire proclamations became another murmur in the bustling market.
