Reviving a lost Jutsu
Tue Feb 21, 2012 3:57 pm
Amane strapped her leather belt around her waist and tightened the detailed wolf buckle at the front. She whistled silently through her teeth before closing the door, seconds after a four-legged figure stepped out of the shadow and rubbed its head against her leg. She smiled at it and ruffled it's soft fur as she shut the door. She tucked her key in her pocket and her companion ran around in circles. "Haha...we haven't been out together in a while have we? You miss it don't you?" The creature whined and nuzzled her palm. "Well, I have good news for you. We're going everywhere together from now on, okay?" She smiled and began to walk down the path from her home, her beloved friend at her side. He ran ahead gracefully, the moon glistening off of his silver coat. Odin was his name. Amane would never call him her pet, he was far too special. She had found him five years ago, a mere cub, surrounded by the bloodied remains of his pack.
He had been afraid of her to start with, and tried to hide behind what could have been his mother, though it was hard to tell with the state of the body. He had stepped in a puddle of blood and gave a loud yelp, splashing himself even more with the deep red stain. Amane had sat down at the end of the clearing, the sight too much for her innocent eyes. She had began to shake and tears were streaming down her face. Her walk in the woods had turned out to be a nightmare. The cub had moved closer, and nuzzled her arm. That was when it began. She looked up into his big, silver-blue eyes, his white coat caked in dirt and blood. She lifted a hand to stroke his muzzle, and he pushed into her, burying his head in her lap. The had slept like that, and she woke up to a severe face-licking. They had gone back to Sunagakure together, and haven't been more than a mile apart since. he always stood by her. And she never failed to return the favor.
As she approached the village gates, a scream broke the silence of the night. Amane's eyes opened wide but soon calmed as the cries turned to laughter. She rounded a corner to see Odin standing on one of the Gate Monitors' chest, licking his face. Amane smiled as the other stood, arms folded, shaking his head at the two. "Hiya, Amane!" The one on the floor, Takeo, (as Amane knew him) said between gasps. He laughed and tried to push the wolf off, but though he wasn't fully grown, he was still incredibly strong. The man who stood, Sadao, had known her for as long as she could remember, and never had any problems letting her through the gate. She was a good girl, in his eyes. Most of the village knew her as a good girl, but they also knew she was shy and quiet. A lot of things hide behind a quiet girl, especially when she is Uchiha. Amane waved at him. "You off to take Odin on a walk again? Or are you going to meet that fine man of yours?" He joked. Amane smiled. "We never know, Sadao! Though I don't think Odin would approve of me having eyes for anyone other than him! The little attention seeker." He wagged his tail and jumped off of Takeo with a loud bark, his mouth spread into a wide, wolfy grin. She scratched his chin. "You are aren't you?" Takeo stood up quietly and scratched the back of his neck. "Ever think of getting him a leash?" He grinned. He knew there was no danger in Amane getting a leash for this grand mutt. He smiled and fixed his headband. "So. What can we do for you, Amane?" She smiled. "May I pass through? Odin and I have some training to do."
Amane sat on the rock in the middle of the river. Odin sat at the waters edge, pawing at his reflection. She sighed and closed her eyes as she balanced herself on one foot, raising her leg behind her. She leaned back and stretched her arms out. She built up the Chakra inside of her and focused it in her heart and mind. she would make herself remember this Jutsu, The Inferno Canine Technique. Lost by the Uchiha centuries ago, this would surely increase Amane's bond with Odin, as well as their power. Amane's eyes glowed, and she stood, frozen into place. Odin did the same, and they looked deep into the past together, focusing their Chakra as one, willing themselves to revive this Jutsu.
