Sachiko's E- Rank Mission: Toys for Orphans
Wed Aug 08, 2012 3:15 pm
Word Count: 670/300
A small nine year old girl with fiery red hair and beight sky- blue eyes skipped to her house happily, for she had recieved her first mission today! The misssion pamphlet stated that she was to build a bunch of toys for orphans-- something that Sachiko found both noble and wonderful.
She would love this mission; it may not be the most well- paying one, but the young girl was elated at the prospect that her services were going to help out the orphans of her village and make a difference. ... However, she had run across a problem. What in the world could she build that the children would like? Well, it couldn't be too hard to think of something-- after all, she was practically a child herself. How hard could it be?
The young girl grinned brightly as she leisurely walked into her comfortable house, going to her room to brainstorm for some ideas on what to make.
--Later--
The young girl had cheered inwadly at finally arriving to a conclusion, pumping her fists in the air as she sat on her clean, crimson red bed; she would make stuffed animals for the orphans, and not just any old and boring stuffed animals, ones with ninja enhancements that could protect them!
Suddenly, Sachiko had a depressing thought that caused her to cease her cheering and instead want to sulk.
How was she going to make the stuffed animals? Sachiko had no idea on how to sew and didn't know anyone who could... at least, she didn't think so. Maybe her mother would?
At this thought, the young girl came to a decision, her sky- blue eyes lighting up with determination. I'll go ask Mommy if she knows how to sew or knew anyone who could. Decidedly the head- strong red head searched for her stern but kind mother, finally finding her in their spacious backyard punching an invisible foe, in front of the large tree, undoubtedly to be shaded from the warm rays of the sun as she practiced.
"Mommy, can you teach me how to sew?" Sachiko asked loudly, bouncing up to her mother.
At hearing her daughter's request the female shinobi reluctantly stopped attacking her invisible foe, turning to the young girl. "Sure, dear. However, why do you want to learn to sew in the first place?" the red- headed woman asked curiously, her eyes filled with confusion. Her daughter had never shown any interest in sewing before (deeming it too 'girly'), so what could be with the sudden change of attitude towards it?
"Well, you see, Mommy, I just got a mission today that requires me to build a bunch of toys for orphans to play with, and I was thinking maybe I could make some stuffed animals with some ninja enhancements to defend them!" the young girl explained happily, grinning at her mother's consent to her wish.
If the woman was shocked, she didn't let it appear on her face for she merely nodded in understanding and walked inside the house and opening a wooden door that revealed a small room filled with yarn, needles, designs, stuffing, scissors, glue, wood, strings, and ninja weapons/ equipment
"Holy cow... how long has this room been here and why haven't I been in here before?" Sachiko asked in awe, gaping at the contents of the room.
Sachiko's mother merely smiled enigmatically at her daughter's awed response and stated enthusiastcally, "Now, let's get to work, dear! Those toys won't make themselves, you know!"
Sachiko released a wide grin and nodded enthusiastically in agreement. "Yeah! Let's do this!"
--Later--
After many hours of stitching, cutting, gluing, stuffing, sewing, and other types of work passed, the two woman finally finished the stuffed animals.
Now all that was left was delivering them to the orphanage.
Sachiko's mother offered to do it for her daughter, but she declined saying that this was her mission. In truth, the girl merely wanted to see the smiles of the orphans when they got the new toys.
Mission Complete.
