Denkiteki and Minorin do a mission (P, NK)

Denkiteki waited at the gate, in his hands an open scroll. He was reading over the mission briefing once more, making sure he memorized all of the information inside. A farm had been attacked, and the farmer who owned it was not found among the wreckage that had been his home. His mission was to go to that farm and find out just who had committed the crime.

Denkiteki wouldn’t be going alone on this mission though, he had sent a message to Minorin, another Genin who he had met recently, to have her come along with him. This was an A-Rank mission, and he couldn’t do it alone.

Denkiteki wore his usual street clothes, a grey shirt and black fitting pants. He had a kunai holster strapped to his left leg on the outside of his thigh, and a weapon pouch connected to his belt, resting above his backside. Also on his back was a medium sized Wakizashi, with the hilt of the weapon appearing over his left shoulder. This was not a normal Wakizashi however, but a special weapon his father had given him. From what he understood once unsheathed it would allow him to poison his opponents with a scratch, leaving them paralyzed.

At his feet was his ninjato, one of those sold at the Ninja Shop that made you faster. Denkiteki had only used it for one mission, and had now decided that he didn’t need it because of his new weapon. He would give it to Minorin once she arrived. The sword would be a little big for her, but it would definitely help her out on this mission if things got rough.

Minorin was running a little late this morning, her mother had turned off her alarm thinking that Minorin would like to sleep in today. Minorin had slept in on the day she had a very important mission with Denkiteki! She couldn't get angry with her mother because she had only meant well, but now Minorin was so behind. It was pretty frustrating to say the least.

She rushed everything; shower, clothing, breakfast. None of it mattered, she had to make decent time! She ran to the village gates where Denkiteki had told her to meet him, as she aproached she saw he was reading a scroll. She made her way over and exhaled. Her legs felt wobbly. She hadn't eaten enough. She touched her palms to her wobbling knees for support and looked up at Denkiteki, "Sorry I'm late!" She puffed with a smile. She looked down at her feet and attempted to catch her breath. She noticed a ninjato at Denkiteki's feet and wondered what it was for. Oh well, that didn't matter right now. Air was good.

As Minorin collected air she realized Denkiteki had a decent amount of supplies, he was ready. She had nothing, she'd have to change that soon. She hadn't realized just how unprepared she really was until now.

Denkiteki smiled at the younger Genin as she approached, running towards him. She was late, but that didn’t worry Denkiteki to much. It was only by about 10 minutes, so it wasn’t like they were going to make terrible time. Still, Denkiteki wanted to get on his way as soon as Minorin had caught her breath.

He put the scroll away, into a pocket in his jeans, and picked up the ninjato by its sheath. “Here, I noticed you don’t have any weapons or anything like that with you. You might need this.”

He held the weapon out to her, and waited for her to take it. “As soon as you have caught your breath we’re going to be moving out.”

Minorin had finally caught her breath and looked at the Ninjato in Denkiteki's hand. She nodded, "Uh, Thanks!" And took the weapon, she felt awkward taking it. Had he noticed how painfully unprepared she was? She looked at him cheerfully, ready to get going so that she wouldn't have to think on the subject much longer.

Minorin smiled as she took the weapon, so Denkiteki hoped she felt grateful for the gift. It wasn’t like it was some expensive weapon, but it was very useful. At least for someone who didn’t have a better weapon anyway.

“Alright, let’s get going. It is going to take a little while for us to get to the farm.” He said turning to leave. He quickly stopped though, realizing he hadn’t let Minorin look at the mission briefing. Reaching into his pocket, he pulled out the scroll and handed that to her as well.

“It’s the mission briefing, read that while we are on our way. We’re going to walk for now, so that you aren’t as tired when we reach our destination. I don’t want you exhausted incase there are enemies there. This is a high ranking mission, so stay on your toes.”

With that he began walking through the village gates, and on towards the farm that was their destination.

Minorin took the scroll and opened it, listening to Denkiteki while doing so. Then she felt the smoldering heat of embarrassment well up inside of her. She just nodded to Denkiteki; it was for the best that they were walking but it was horrible. She was doing so badly and the mission hadn't really started yet.

She followed him through the village gates and toward thier destination. She began reading over the map, before she hadn't been able to due to her intense embarrassment. Now that she was moving it wasn't as much of an issue. She sighed, a farmer had probably been kidnapped. She'd stay on her toes for sure.

It didn’t take long for them to find the farm. The building that had once housed the farmer was destroyed, the roof was the only thing even partially intact, and it was resting on top of a pile of broken wood. It seemed someone had torn down the walls of the house or something.

As Denkiteki approached the building, he looked back at Minorin and pointed towards the ground. “See if you can sense anything.”

Denkiteki approached the house warily, his left hand ready to reach for his sword if he had to. As far as Denkiteki knew, the report that the farm had been destroyed had been fairly recent, so there was a small chance that one of the criminals was still around.

Denkiteki didn’t find anyone however, and began searching through the rubble for clues. He continued until he found a headband, with the symbol of kiri on it. There was also a long scratch through the center, which meant its owner might have been a missing-nin. I have to report this back to the kage! he thought.

Despite feeling that he needed to warn the village of a possible missing-nin as soon as possible, he would wait for Min to get out of the ground if she had followed his orders. Once she got out, or if she hadn’t gone underground at all, he would begin heading back to the village with the headband in his hand.

They reached the farm in no time, once there Minorin was amazed by the destruction she was now witness to. Denkiteki didn't give her much time to think; he gave her orders to check the ground and she nodded. She'd do it. But it was really weird getting orders from Denkiteki.

She executed the necessary hand seals and channeled her chakra through her body and into the ground. Minorin was now underground. She could sense Denkiteki and the ruins but nothing else. She moved around hoping to find some kind of chakra signature. After a while she gave up, there was nothing to be found here.

Minorin released the jutsu and returned to the land above. She saw Denkiteki who after seeing her had started off in the direction of their village. Minorin followed him and stated that she hadn't found anything.
