Nine and Five.

He chuckles at this leaning back into the backrest once more while tilting his hat upwards with his left index finger so his eyes are in clear view, his vulpine grin still in place as he ponders if the girl will allow him to place his arm around her shoulder...she seems shy but he's not sure.
He'll wait on that for a bit, he doesn't wanna scare her off after all.

As her blush simmers down she realizes that Echo has remained silent, even though she called him a Nibi impersonator. Well, he had laughed, but that was all. Perhaps she had succeeded in embarrassing him; she doubted it, but just maybe.

She tilts her head so that it looks as if she’s watching one of the other booths, but really she was trying to see what Echo was doing without just staring at him or something awkward like that.

The boy was leaning back, his hat tilted upwards and his eyes visible. Still grinning of course. He seems just to be sitting there, content with the food and atmosphere, probably mulling such things over in his head. The restaurant was nice, it seemed very laid-back, but Minorin was still feeling a little nervous. It was very different from what she was used to, even if the people seemed friendly.

He hums in thought his eyes flicking towards the girl sitting beside him staring off towards another booth, he turns his head and notes the elderly couple from before sitting there...he blinks once before turning back towards her "Hey, hey don't worry about them! Odds are we'll never see em again!" he states shrugging his shoulders "Sorry if I embarrassed you.." He states his grin turning awkward his right index finger coming to scratch his cheek once more...a nervous habit of his.

She turns towards Echo as he speaks, staring dazedly. She looked back over in the direction she had pretended to be staring in – that elderly couple!

“Oh! I hadn’t even noticed they’d been sitting there! Um, it wasn’t that embarrassing, don’t worry.” Her blush had returned from such a situation, and she hoped he didn’t figure out she’d been looking at him, but thankfully it wasn’t an intense blush in any way. She was totally lying about it not being very embarrassing, but she hadn’t worried about seeing the couple again so it probably wasn’t the worst form of embarrassment.

She noticed Echo scratching his cheek again, a nervous tick perhaps? She smiled at the boy, attempting to reassure him that it was fine.

Echo chuckles softly as she smiles reassuringly towards him his hand being placed on the table now as he returns the smile with one of his own.
His coal black eyes glimmer with content as take in the girls frame, he chuckles again before speaking "You're beautiful Milady." He states calmly no grin forming, no teasing glimmer entering his eye just a simple utterance revealing nothing but truth in his statement.

Minorin watches him as he laughs, watching his eyes. He laughed again, and then to her surprise he told her that she was beautiful. Her mother often said such things to her, and she always refused, but there was something different about a boy saying it. She supposed especially since this boy was saying it.

Her chest felt tight, as if the butterflies had decided to teleport from her gut to her heart. She calmed down a bit though, thinking about how odd and disgusting something like that would be if it were meant literally.

He’d said it so calmly; he didn’t seem to be teasing her at all. She realized that she was so shocked she had stopped breathing for a moment, and that her blush hadn’t even bothered visiting her pale cheeks. Echo, who seemed to be such a troublemaker, not teasing her? And saying something so… extremely flattering so seriously.

She feels like she can’t look at him in his eyes, she feels flustered – flustered in a way she’d never felt before. She looks down at her knees, not knowing what to say or do. She also feels like she should compliment him back, so that he knows she appreciates the compliment as well as his appearance. But gathering the nerve required seemed unlikely for her, a girl who’d never even thought of doing these kinds of things before.

She’d try her best, the words stumbling out awkwardly.

“Um, you’re.. very! Ah – Very handsome.”

But then she thought maybe she shouldn’t be so forward, even if it was a compliment and she had been the one that had forced her thoughts out so hurriedly. “But don’t think that means a lot to me or anything. Because it doesn’t.”

He blinks once in slight confusion at her quick dismissal of that not meaning much to her before he grins again, his tone is lighter as he speaks happy she finds his looks adequate if nothing else, he speaks again "So, what does mean alot to you? In a guy I mean?" He asks curiously his gaze still turned towards her, he ponders if he's boring too forward but decides against it..he'll apologize if that's the case...course he does wish to make it clear he's interested in a few more dates, possibly a relationship if those go well...he wants to take this one slow however.

The girl blinks, she hadn’t really thought about what she wanted in a guy, or what qualities would mean a lot to her if someone were to ever possess those qualities. She just knew that looks didn’t worry her. She lifts her head to look towards him as she thinks.

“Having a lot in common I guess, but not so similar that neither of us can learn anything. And, um, someone that doesn’t push you into doing things that you really don’t want to do. Unless doing that thing would be good for you, then I guess it’d be okay…”

She tapped the base of her drink with her left index finger, “I haven’t really thought about these kinds of things. Just that looks aren’t very important. Like, if you really liked someone just for their looks and they got into a horrible accident and they never looked the same so you didn’t like them anymore, or not as much - that’d be horrible. And if you’re going to like someone at all you might as well be serious, for the most part anyways. And since I’m a ninja, I’m probably going to like a ninja. And it’s pretty easy to get injured…”

Then Minorin felt as though she’d begun to ramble, something she was prone to doing. “But, um, anyways, I think that’s all I have to say about that.” She felt embarrassed, Echo probably didn’t want to sit next to someone as they just went on and on about such things. Maybe she should ask what would mean a lot to him in a girl… She’d wait a little while, not sure if she wanted to know just yet.

He seems to ponder her answer with a small hum of thought his eyes trailing upwards as he crosses his arms over his chest, his smile is still in place.
He thinks about her likes and what she described and finds it sensible enough, course he will neither attempt to conform or stray from her parameters..it'd be nice if they have a bit in common though he supposes.
"Shinobi and Civilian relationships are pretty complicated I hear, you know...what with us being fire spewing killers for hire and all that." He states with a bit of an amused gleam entering his eye as he chuckles at his own description "Course I favor wind..." He states but the most popular element he finds is often fire....he wonders why that is?

She hates to admit it, but she watches him closely to see how he would react, to see if he disliked anything she’d said mainly.

He didn’t seem to, and then he spoke to her. She couldn’t help but laugh a bit at his description of shinobi. “Oh, wind is very cool,” She nods, grinning at Echo, “I never thought it could be used to fly.”
She wondered if she should say that she held an affinity with earth, but if she remembered correctly one of his brothers had also held an affinity with it. So for now she was content with speaking about just the wind element with Echo.

The girl did think his description of shinobi was funny though, fire was probably the most popular. Most likely because people viewed it as the most destructive.
