Element Training.. to the max! [P, NK]

Kojin looked at Leander with wide eyes. "Take them out of your body? Doesn't that mean you can, like, take out your spine or something? Does it just grow back?!" he rushed. He definitely needed to look in the library for a book on the Kaguya clan. Being able to control your bones sounded super cool! Now that he thought about it, all his friends were from a clan that gave them some kind of power. Sometimes it made the boy feel left out. However, since he was an optimistic one, it also made him notice that he was the unique one! The boy grinned at the small thought and turned his head to see his shadow clone returning with 3 leaves. "Perfect!" he said as the clone handed him a leaf. The clone went up to Leander and handed him one as well, leaving one for himself.

"Well Lea, we are going to cut leaves" the clone replied with a smile. The original didn't say anything for a bit just to make Leander wonder about the exercise. "But we aren't going to cut it normally. We are going to use our wind chakra!" he finished with a giant smile on his face. He had given Leander one as well since he wanted to see how he did it. There was a possibility he could achieve cutting the leaf the same way. "I say you start first since you already have wind" he said.

"Hmm?" Lea said, partially raising an eyebrow as he took the leaf. He held it up in front of them both between his index finger and thumb on his right hand. 'I guess I just,' Lea thought and pushed some of his wind chakra to his hand. The leaf cut about half way up then stopped. Lea just looked at the leaf, a little annoyed.
"Like that?" He asked Kojin. 'Stupid leaf' He thought to himself.

Kojin stared at the leaf Leander had in awe. He had already cut it halfway! "Yea yea! You're supposed to do it like that..." he replied. He knew it was going to be easy for the other genin since he already had wind. Of course, that's the reason why he wanted Leander to go first. 'Alright, now to remember his advice' he thought. The boy took a deep breath and started to try and cut the leaf. His clone had started to do the same once he saw the original trying it out. 'Like.. breathing..' the original thought. Kojin kept the leaf in between his two palms, it looked as if he was attempting to squish it. He kept attempting to cut the leaf while taking deep breaths, trying to use Leander's advice to try and cut the leaf. A few drops of sweat formed on his forehead as he focused.

"Oh look! I cut it a little!". Kojin quickly turned his head to face his clone and saw a small cut in his the leaf. The boy made a face and sighed. 'I guess I should be happy, he is me after all' the genin thought. This exercise was going to frustrate him a lot. Still, he just had to keep on going! Kojin was positive that he would get it eventually. He just needed to be a bit patient...

Lea watched as Kojin and his clone attempted cut their leaves. He wished he knew something else to say to Kojin to help him understand how to use wind chakra a little faster. 
"Maybe..the spiral ball was a poor example." Lea said, half to himself half to Kojin.
"Instead of breathing.. picture the air as a blade almost. Wind can cut almost anything." Lea walked over to the small bush and grabbed another leaf. He concentrated more this time and let his wind nature flow to his hands. The leaf split in half.
"The sharpest thing you can think of, wind can make sharper. Now Kojin, " Lea thought maybe he would work harder with a push.
"Cut half way up the leaf, before your clone does!"

Kojin's ears perked up as he heard Leander's voice. His eyes followed Lea when the other genin went and picked another leaf. He looked on as the leaf in Leander's hand had completely split in half! The boy looked down at the leaf he had. "There's.. barely a scratch on it. It looks as if I haven't been doing anything" he scowled. 'Like.. a blade. Like a blade' he chanted in his mind. The genin went back into his previous position and tried again. In the corner of his eye, he saw his clone attempting the same thing. "I.. I have to beat myself!" he mumbled. Kojin then closed his eyes and pictured the wind cutting grass, trees, even weapons. Even more sweat rolled down the side of his face. Concentrating was very hard since he never did something like this.

Once Kojin felt something in his hand, he stopped immediately and opened his eyes. The boy opened his closed hands and started to grin like a mad man. "Hey! Look! Look!" he shouted pointing at his leaf. He had already cut nearly halfway! 'So, that's how it's done! Take that clone!' he thought with a triumphant smile. "You're advice worked Leander. Thanks a lot!" he said to his teammate.

Lea smiled, feeling like he was really helping for the first time. It was really an awesome feeling, helping his teammate achieve his goals. He was glad he had stumbled down into this cave and found Kojin. 
"Thats great Kojin!" He said happily. "But, you're only half way there." Lea reminded the boy, not in a mean way but in an encouraging way. He knew that Kojin could get it, as long as he stayed focused.

Kojin nodded in agreement with Leander. "Yea you're right. Well, not exactly halfway. Only close to it." he replied. He turned to his clone to see how he was doing it so far. It seemed the shadow clone heard the advice as well since he cut the leaf at the same point the original had! The genin made yet another face and went back into position. "Okay, like a blade. Picture a blade again" he mumbled to himself. He did the same procedure he performed before to cut the small leaf and started to concentrate. The boy could feel it, he was close to mastering this element! He shut his eyes and closed his hands once more on the leaf. It took a lot out of him to do this simple exercise. Kojin wondered how other people were able to train their element and not get as tired.

Maybe it was because wind was the best battle element? There was a possibility that was why it took to much chakra. He furrowed his brow as he could feel the leaf getting cut. Kojin opened his eyes to see his progress and gained a small smile on his face. The cut had made it past halfway and was now close to being fully in half. "I can't believe this is really working. Hehe" he commented while wiping some sweat off his forehead.

Lea listened to Kojin, happy that his friend was understanding even though Wind was a difficult element. Lea decided to practice his water element while they were there. He opened a jug of water he had brought with him and poured it out. He caught the water and made it form into a whip. (Water Whip) He walked over to the bush and started splitting leaves with the whip, practicing his aim.

Kojin saw Leander practicing with a water jutsu in the corner of his eye. He turned his head to fully see the genin practicing on the bush. "What? Even Leander got his second element?" he mumbled with a sigh. He glared at the leaf in his hands and went back to focusing. He was running out of chakra, but he wasn't going to stop, ever! The boy started to sweat even more than he did before as he concentrated. 'I bet even Raijin and Yukio have a new element! Everyone is getting ahead of me!' he thought with a scowl in his face. Kojin tried to get under control be taking a deep breath. This wasn't the time to get angry. He wasn't falling behind, in fact he was positive he was on par with the rest of the genin. The boy should be happy for his teammates gaining new elements instead of becoming jealous.

Things like that were a ninja's downfall. He wanted to succeed as a ninja, not fail. Silly emotions like those were unacceptable! The boy turned his head to look at his clone again. He even got jealous of himself during the training, it was ridiculous. Kojin went back to focusing on cutting the leaf. 'I can do this' he thought, encouraging himself. He closed his eyes once more and pictured a blade of wind. Except this time he was the one controlling it, making it cut various things in his path.

Kojin seemed to catch a second wind after Lea displayed his second element. This was what he had been hoping for. He stopped what he was doing and brought a new leaf over to Kojin.
"Cut a new leaf all the way" he said and handed it to him
