Max Stats or Bust! [solo thread] Empty Max Stats or Bust! [solo thread]

Mon Jan 13, 2014 10:27 pm
Kyo Uchiha was an outright failure. He had failed his friends, his family (or at least what remained of it), and even people he didn’t know. He had become an absolute disappointment to everyone in the village, and he felt it. Everywhere he went, he felt it: the burn of the other’s eyes on him. Oh, sure, some might call him delusional, but he knew better. He knew that because of his actions, he was not accepted, even by strangers. Oh, the stigma…. Oh, the pressure… HE FELT IT. But…. It wasn’t even his fault. It had been the stupidity of the other townsfolk. As most others would say, smart businessmen went “where the grass is green and the people greener, friend.” Then again, most didn’t get the opportunity to do that every day. The day before, however, Kyo had. He had reached out for the opportunity and seized it. Of course, now, he suffered the social consequences.
Wait, hold on, what really did happen yesterday? Well, here’s what happened. Kyo had fooled a

ton of villagers into giving him some ryo. He claimed to be an amazing

investor, which was very easily believable thing, indeed. All he had to do was

appear professional enough, and people would mistake him for what he was not: a

truly clever investor. However, that was not all lie either. He was truly

clever, just not an investor. He was that day what many might call a “con man”,

one who ripped people off. Although that may have been true, in the end, it

really didn’t matter. He had suffered the consequences anyway. What he had done

was take people’s money…. And saved it instead of invested it. He had conned so

many people that he was able to pay people back at first, but then he ran out

of money, so he spent what thousands of remainder he had to pay his father’s

alcohol bills. He knew he shouldn’t have, but it was really whatever. In the

end, all that mattered…. Were the results.

However, even

people who were unaware of the scandal appeared critical to Kyo. He had become

suspicious of all mankind at this point. However, he was going to proceed

onward and outward. Ever onward, and ever outward, that was how he needed to

proceed. And finally, he needed to proceed with caution. “They” awaited him.

Who “they” were, even he did not know, but he knew he needed to be watchful and

careful. Was he being cynical? Most certainly. Was he being unrealistic? Most

certainly not. He knew that the Uchiha clan had many enemies. Since he was a

male member of the clan, people would be out to murder and destroy him. The

Uchiha clan was known for its legacy of hatred…… very well, if they expected a

hateful child, then they would get one. After all, as an ironic guardian of the

leaf, it was his duty to oblige the people. If it was hatred they desired,

well….. wish granted.
           Now,
he

needed to get going. He needed to get stronger. So, he began to walk to the

training grounds. As he started, he began to “see more things around him like

he never had before”. He saw that people where more evil than he thought, he

started to notice the people in the back alleys and the women who lurked in

corners, hoping to lure in the rich and the desperate. This was Konoha? This

was what the Fire Nation had fallen to? Hm, an interesting thought indeed.

Could Konoha really have fallen far?
            Kyo
arrived at the training grounds, where he sat on a bench, thinking about his
workout today. What would he do? He didn’t want to over-stress himself, so he
started out with a quick run. He was probably weaker than most genin, so he
didn’t put up much of a performance. He wasn’t a sickly boy, just not the most
physically fit. You know, more of an ectomorph than a normal mesomorph.
Although he wasn’t the strongest of shinobi, Kyo was thankful that he was at
least both massively intelligent and emotionally sane. Many boys and girls had
their minds broken under the harsh ninja regimen. Many didn’t make it to genin,
even, but Kyo had. He may not be qualified as an actual “survivor” per se,
but….. well maybe he was, compared to civilians. But…. as Kyo ran, he
grimaced…. He was the weak among the weak…. And the Uchihas were supposed to be
strong! How could he uphold the family tradition if he was so weak? And as he
slowed down, that’s when he remembered: his particular family had no tradition,
no honor. So, thus he resolved to find someone else. Another Uchiha, of course,
not just any inferior clan member, and especially not any Uzumakis or Senju
with their pathetic “Will of Fire”. He would see how the “Will of Fire”
competed with the black flames of Amaterasu. Strength and power made the world
turn, not sheer force of will. To believe that was naivete of the most idiotic
order. It was only in stories that people won by sheer willpower. But the
Mangekyou Sharingan…. That was a force that could destroy willpower. AND KYO
WANTED IT. HE WANTED IT BADLY. All he needed to do was find out how to achieve
it, and at what cost. He needed to talk to the village elders about that…. And
then he needed two friends. One of them had to be an Uchiha, to be the brother
and trusted companion he never had. And the other…… had to be support. He
needed a team. He needed friends to make him stronger. And if he couldn’t be
the strongest, so be it. He wanted to live up to his own expectations. Not the
dreamy sort of thing that the Senjus blathered on about, but a purposeful goal.
He didn’t want to be “God of the World” or even “God of Konoha”…. He just
wanted to be “God of Himself”. That was all that mattered right now, and the
rest would come later.
            By this
time, he had already started doing the standard push-ups and what not, as well
as the cardio and the rest of the workout that he had made. He was sweating and
gasping for breath, trying to fill his tissues and bloodstream with valuable
oxygen. “Yes…. Yes…. I can do it. I can get stronger.” He then decided to take
a break, and went out to stand by the riverside.  This was a very
peaceful area for him, but he couldn’t stay long. He knew he had to get back to
his residence soon.
He jogged back from the riverside into town. Everything was just the same as always, dissolute and corrupt. But the place he was headed to was one of the worst of all. He headed to a house in the slums…. His house. Or rather, his parents’ house after his father insisted that they move out of the Uchiha district of town. The house was a filthy, disgusting affair. It was only about 4 rooms large, and had poor plumbing and electricity. It used to be a simple beige-white color, but was now a dirty brown-maroon from decay and neglect. He walked inside. Even without noticing anything visually, any visitor would immediately notice the stench of alcohol and vomit. That, of course, was not Kyo’s fault, but his father’s. Still, Kyo wasn’t one to complain. Unless his father was in some kind of range, they stayed out of each other’s way around the house. Kyo studied for whenever the chunin exams would happen, and his father drank, yelled, cried, vomited, shat, and slept. That was pretty much it, Kyo didn’t see the old man eat very much throughout the year, he didn’t know how the geezer pulled it off.
Today, however, was not one of Kyo’s lucky days. His father was in a rage about the neighbors something-or-other (probably their raucous music) and he was venting his rage on everything. The furniture, the house, some girl he rented from a local “storehouse”, and now Kyo.
“Wha…. Wha ya doingng ya….. AHGHAHGAHHGH!” His father’s eyes burned with the power and fallen majesty that was the sharingan. It would be fearsome in the head of any other man. But not this one. This man was a profligate drinker. He was not of the proud composure of the Uchiha. He did not deserve those eyes. Kyo promised himself that someday would be the final day. After his meditation, he would destroy his father’s eyes by which he claimed his own inheritance. On that day, he would purge the clan of this curse and move on. But for right now, all he had to do was avoid the clumsily thrown whiskey bottles and various household odds-and-ends that would come flying at him all day. It was exercise in and of itself.
A vase came flying at his face. Heh, mere child’s play. Even though he had failed to develop his sharingan as of late, he knew how to dodge projectiles. So, he leapt and dodged throughout the house, using the surface climbing jutsu to walk-run and avoid any flying objects. He jumped out the window and landed in the backyard. The old man and his arthritic joints couldn’t compete with Kyo, even if the geezer had the Uchiha eyes. Kyo laughed and ran up the wall on a nearby apartment building, and disappeared from sight. He needed to become more powerful…. Even his chakra level was sub-average. But by harsh and inhuman conditioning, he would be able to catch up to his peers. He headed out to the training ground again and sat down to think.
How to unlock the sharingan? He knew from listening to the elders when he was a small child that at least one of the stages required some emotional trauma of some kind. Well…. He needed emotional trauma, huh? In that case, he truly needed friends. But in order to do that, he had to socialize more. Well… he needed to make a better first impression. In that case, it couldn’t hurt to train more. After all, it only made sense.
He got up, and began to jog as he had before, but slightly more aggressively. “I…. must…. Reach my bloodline limit…. Then I will know my true power. Only then, can I know whether or not I am fit to live, or if I am mere trash for the border ninja to tear apart.” He kept going, around and around; before long, he began to use the surface climbing jutsu to run on the fence. After he was finished, he straightened his appearance. Well, that was a good workout. He got a drink and headed over to the slums again. This time, however, he went to a small courtyard where young men like him were fighting. He would sit on the roof and observe their fighting techniques. They were crude and simple, and he would probably not be able to use them much, aside from their dodging technique. They always had a counterattack. Perhaps these vile bumpkins weren’t so stupid after all.

However, the mantra that was going on in the back of his mind was more important. “I am a ration user. I need to learn ration jutsu. I am a mid-range fighter. I need to learn ration jutsu.” This kept going, so on and so forth ad nauseam. He knew he needed to, but how? He went to the library to study up on jutsu. He picked up a book, and began to read about chakra, and ration, and about famous ration users. The current and former raikages, huh….. all had…. Some kind of armor. Kozai slowly felt himself drifting off to sleep. He dreamed of lightning storms and of an enormous red eye… a sharingan. But whose was it? His own? His fathers? Or perhaps…. Someone else’s? When Kyo awoke, he felt inspired. He knew what he had to do.
