Dat Iron Cross Dou [solo,nk]
Tue Mar 18, 2014 9:00 pm
Flinglass got up from his nap, falling off the couch. Ouch! It's too bad he was a little bit clumsy. He got up and dusted himself off, for appearances, if nothing else. He shook his head rapidly to clear the fog of sleep from his mind, so that he could think about what to do next. Well, he didn't have any obligations as of that moment, so he made up his mind to go out and train again. After all, there was no harm in it. All he had done last time was practice his moves, he needed to do a little more back-breaking training (ok, not literally, that would be suicidal and stupid). He stepped out of his front door and into the sunny afternoon. Streams of sunlight pierced through the thin and insubstantial clouds and illuminated the village pretty well. He spread his arms and laughed, spinning around and around. When he stopped, he jogged off to the indoor training grounds that he had found some time earlier.
He walked inside the grounds, and saw that strangely, there was no one else there. Well, that was a good thing. He could practice his skills here in peace and quiet. As he walked in, he also noticed that there were several things that he could choose from for his practice that day. Now then, what should he start with? Maybe he should just do pushups, he felt somewhat awake. He moved to the center of the floor and got down in the proper position. Oof! One.... two... and so on. He did about fifteen before he got up and sat back, catching his breath.
Flinglass decided to stop doing push-ups. Those would probably be the death of him someday, and he should probably not do many more of them. He stood up, and did a set of jumping jacks, coupled to some reps of sit-ups. Yeah, this was much more strenuous than the other training he had been doing. This was much more physical, much more painful too. Sure, it hurt, but he knew that in the long run, it would do him a whole lot of good. He then stopped what he was doing, and walked around to cool off and take a small break.
After wiping the sweat from his brow, Flinglass decided it was time to do some endurance training. He stood a little off to the side and spread out his arms perpendicular from his body to the sides. This was the "iron cross" endurance exercise, and he absolutely hated it. Nevertheless, he kept going. Two minutes later, he had to stop. He just couldn't continue anymore.
He headed home, arms aching. He could barely lift them , and regretted doing that iron cross, knowing very well what effects it would have on him. Well, this was all for the best.
