A Tree Among Thousands

Koaru held a kunai knife in his hand as he stood before what could have been the largest tree in the Konoha forest. Koaru had his neck craned to look up the entire length of the tree trunk. Forming chakra at the base of his feet, Koaru would climb after dashing towards the massive tree. Koaru scaled about 20 meters of tree, before back flipping and landing firmly on the ground once more, but not before marking his place with a slash of his kunai. Koaru stood up straight and observed his performance. 'Okay, Koaru. Now let's double the results!' The boy charged forward once again, mimicking the same movements. This time, with more chakra control and precision, Koaru climbed 40 meters with ease. This time, when he back flipped off of the tree trunk, he would land on one of the tree's branches. It was there that Koaru would rest for a moment and enjoy the breeze at his new altitude. From here, Koaru could see the entire village. From here, Koaru could also see someone approaching...

Kyte was walking around the forest which was one of his favorite place's because it's usually peaceful. Walking through the forest Kyte marked his surroundings to not get lost since that had happen before. after thirty minutes of walking Kyte approached a tree that seemed like it was the tallest tree in the forest he would then rest under the tree's shade. Looking up at the tree Kyte notice a mark that seemed 20 meters above he then notice someone on the branch but couldn't really make out who it was he simply waved at the person.

Koaru watched another leaf genin approach the same tree he was resting on. As Kyte drew closer, Koaru recognized him. He was one of the ninja Kenzo had called to spar in the village a few days earlier. Though his memory was not the best, Kyte fought quite exceptionally as Koaru recalled. Kyte took refuge under the giant tree's shade, then waved. Koaru stood on his tree branch, 40 meters above Kyte, one hand resting on the massive tree trunk, and the other hand waving back at Kyte. Koaru would descend from his position in the tree tops, but not by simply jumping. Koaru formed the snake hand seal and mustered his chakra fluently. The chakra manifested in every dread on the young genin's head and within a matter of seconds, grew exponentially. Koaru's dreads were now a large, tangled mess, quite visibly enhanced by his own chakra. One of the dreadlocks moved on its own accord, acting as a tendril. The dreadlock slithered like a snake and wrapped around the trunk of the tree, pulling Koaru along with it. As Koaru swung around the back side of the tree, a second dreadlock would become animated and slither around the tree at the same time that the first one released its grip on the tree. Koaru would find himself swinging from branch to branch of the same tree, all while maintaining the snake hand seal. The dreadlock serpents carried Koaru to a distance from the ground that was safe enough to drop down from before releasing their hold on the nearby tree branches and reeling back into the large mass of hair of Koaru's head.

The boy with the mangled dreadlocked hairdo now stood directly in front of Kyte, who was resting under the tree. Koaru slowly released his hands, breaking the seal, and the massive hairs on his head shrunk in response. When the jutsu was fully uncast, Koaru would shield his eyes as he looked up the length of the tree before looking back down at Kyte.

"That's gotta be at least 40 meters. The trees here never stop growing.....Hey, I'm Koaru. You're Kyte, right? Nice to meet you"

Kyte watched Koaru swing from branch to branch with his dreads and landing in front of him. Once Koaru once in Kyte view he recognized him from the time at the village and the time at the hokage`s rock.Kyte stood and offered Koaru a handshake.

" Yeah my name is Kyte, if I remember correctly your the one that was flirting with the Hyuga, Midori ,when you was fighting that blonde haired guy. Well nice to meet you Koaru."

Koaru rubbed the back of his head with his hand and laughed nervously, shutting one eye as if winking. With the other eye, Koaru finally took in Kyte's full appearance now that he was up close and personal. It had occured to Koaru that he had seen Kyte, not once, but twice before now. In their first encounter, Koaru had rudely skipped introductions and stormed off. He accepted Kyte's hand shake as he said,

"Eh heheh, yea that was me. This makes the um.....third time we've met without actually 'meeting'. But, it's nice to meet you as well! Are you here for a little mid day training?"

Koaru said his last sentence almost invitingly, with a small glint of sunlight shining off of his teeth. A warm spring breeze blew over the forest, scattering a shower of leaves over the two shinobi. Koaru would release from the hand shake and place the hand on his hip, waiting for Kyte's answer.

"You might have kept your own against that Green kid, but can you keep up with me?"

"Umm..."

Kyte wasn't in the mood but if it was a way to get stronger, he smiled

"I guess but I'll need to switch first..."

Once done Kyte simply closed his eye's and took a deep breath. He asked Ky to switch and Ky was eager too. Once he opened his eye's they were blood red the eye's of Ky.

" Alright ready"

Koaru stared at Kyte, unsure of what it was that he was doing. He had no idea what he was talking about when he was talking about “switching”. An eye brow raised when Koaru noticed that the color of his sparring opponent’s eyes had changed. From the change in tone of his voice, Koaru deducted that there was some sort of change in personality within the genin. A sort of battle mantra of sorts, perhaps.

“I can do that too…Okay, let’s start!”

Koaru’s feet slid apart so that he was now assuming a secure fighting stance. With what looked like a simple blink of an eye, Koaru awakened his visual jutsu, the Moringan. His eyes changed from a dark black to a breathtaking jade green. Koaru formed the tiger hand seal with only one hand and vanished from sight. His entire figure blurred away at a speed that would be completely beyond Kyte’s comprehension. By the time Kyte realized what had just happened, and that Koaru was in a tree about 10 meters to the right of Koaru’s original position, the dreadlocked genin would have destroyed a branch of the tree with an ax kick. The branch would split into 5 wooden splinters, falling along with Koaru toward the ground. As they descended, Koaru mustered his chakra within him. He translated the nature of the chakra to wind style. By now, Koaru was a skilled wind style user. He considered using his new technique, Wind style: Dust Coud against Kyte. Just as he was about to form the hand seals necessary, he hesitated.

‘No…this isn’t the right amount of chakra for this technique. I need to use more chakra to maximize the range of the jutsu. I’ll use Wind Style: Gale Wind Palm instead…’

Koaru relayed his strategies in his head all in the few seconds it took him to fall from the tree. Before reaching 1 meter above the ground, Koaru clapped his hands together and executed his Gale Wind Palm. A large gust of wind carried the splinters with it so that they were in a direct collision course with Kyte. Though wooden, the splinters had a sharpness of 20, which could hurt Kyte if he was not careful to dodge the attack. The splinters were incoming at a speed of 30, and they were rotating rapidly, almost mimicking the nature of a shuriken.

Koaru would land and see how Kyte will respond with a smile on his face. He clearly showed pride in his wind style techniques, for he knew that fuuton was not a common nature in the village. Only a rare few could use it. The wooden stakes were moving fast, but it was not impossible for Kyte to dodge, after all, it is instinct to want to move the hell out of the way of things that are threatening to impale you. If Kyte successfully blocked or dodged the attack, Koaru would go on to say,

“That was just the warning shot. Show me what Kenzo has taught you!”

Kyte was surprised by the speed of Koaru but he didn't get to distracted before he knew it Koaru had already began his attack. Kyte watched as the splinters came down rapidly. Kyte had no time to think of what to do So he dashed backwards dodging the some of splinters. As he moved backward one splinter grazed his right cheek, a little cut was left there and a little blood line of blood appeared. " Hey that could've killed me. Can't you take it easy on me my body is still sore from when I fought Kenzo"
Kyte had said.

Backing away from his original he was at Kyte had then started to think of a plan of action. " I can't attack head on he's more skilled than me, but if I were to do a hit and run..." Kyte had thought. Kyte then looked around at his surroundings. Dashing towards Koaru Kyte would then perform a sliding kick. Of course if he had landed the attack he would hide himself behind a tree or even if he missed.

As Koaru descended toward the ground, he watched Kyte carefully to see how he handled the situation. Koaru could see that his opponent was skilled enough to dodge his attack, though not unscathed. He grinned at Kyte’s remark, though that excuse would not be enough to stop Koaru from attacking with full force. Koaru believed he could one day be better, even then Kenzo, and he planned to make Kyte believe it too. In the few seconds it took Koaru to drop down to the ground, Kyte already made his counter attack. Koaru’s opponent chose a frontal leg sweep, Koaru could see that he was trying to through him off balance and tip the scale in his favor by using taijutsu. Koaru however, was not the best close range fighter. Koaru would not let this turn into a taijutsu battle if he could help it. Unlike his experience with Green, or even Kenzo, this fight with Koaru would need a bit more strategy. Koaru would make it hard for Kyte to even get within 5 meters of him, let alone use taijutsu against him.

Koaru’s hair reanimated like serpents on the very head of Medusa. One dreadlock whipped upwards and wrapped itself around a tree branch nearby. The hair pulled Koaru out of range of Kyte’s attack with grace. Koaru swung with a speed of 40 completely around the tree his hair was latched onto. The hair serpents alternated between themselves when travelling around the tree for maximum flexibility, so as to not let his movements be stopped by simply cutting a single bundle of Koaru’s hair. In the exact moment that Koaru was behind the tree, with he and Kyte on opposite sides of the tree, he knew his movements would be hidden. Koaru formed a hand seal and created a shadow clone with discretion. The clone appeared and clung onto the side of the tree using its chakra based at its feet. The original Koaru would continue to swing as if nothing happened, and he would finally land on top of a branch, looking down at Kyte. He clenched his left fist close at his side while Koaru’s right hand signaled for Kyte to come at him. The clone would remain hidden for the time being.

Kyte watched as Koaru dodge his attack. Watching Koaru hair turned to something like snakes Kyte moved back three feet from his original position. " He's faster than me plus he can do that with his hair" Kyte thought. As Koaru made his way to a branch not so far above Kyte which seemed like three meters above Kyte. Seeing as Koaru signaled Kyte to come at him he didn't dare to move just yet he was thinking of a way to attack Koaru. " So let's try something new" Kyte said as he stood at the ground. Kyte then moved away from the tree and hid himself in the bushes that surrounded the tree.
