"No, my grandfather is still alive," the blonde managed, getting to her feet from beside Fenn and making her way across the room. He seemed to be emmersed in his book but she figured he would be listening anyway. The kunoichi moved towards the lone window a few feet away from where Fenn lay, contemplating the waning sunlight outside. Fenn was right, she had loved her grandfather greatly even if such words had never been used inside the Akari compound. Relationships had always been an extension of duty, care an obligation. There had never been time to contemplate people in terms of love. And yet, as she stood there she realized that he smut have loved her even if she was far too young to see it.

Wherever he was today, and the young woman still held true to the fact that he was alive and well - it was no easy task to bring down Akashingo Akari - she hoped he had found the strength to forget her in the end. Of everyone she had left behind and let down, the feeling of disappointing him was the one that hurt most.

Her golden eyes left the window to return to Fenn still engrossed in his book. She supposed he was not pushing her out of consideration for her feelings and she was grateful for that much. Still she had to help. Her golden eyes glowing softly, the blonde began to create a light construct two feet away from her to use as a demonstration tool. The construct was rectangular in shape and glinted slightly as a sheet of glass would where it stood between the two ninja in the small office. Standing behind the three foot wide and tall construct, Akihana raised a finger to the object, not touching but tracing out patterns only for Fenn to follow on the makeshift chalkboard as she spoke, her eyes continuing to create and add detail to the construct with her words.

"This," she began, pointing to a strand of genes appearing on the construct. "Is the DNA of a Senju, looks like any normal DNA strand and yet do you see the markers along the ridge?" Her fingernails ghosted over the small bumps sparsely spaced. "These show how receptive a gene is to mutation and implants. Similarly, this is a normal strand, a civilian's," Another strand appeared beside the Senju one, this time generously littered with makers. "A civilian has lots of room to implant, shinobi bloodlines are more resistant, Senju bloodlines are a feat of nature's most stubborn design and a successful implant is a miracle... But if you'd like, I can try again."

Fenn would watch the lights she she was making and closely examining each thing she pointed out, listening to each thing she would say to him about the dna, then came the question about her trying again, and Fenn would shake his head no and look up at her " No Akihana, Thank you, but I do not need you to try again, not so soon, but in time, maybe, so lets get to learning more jutsu shall we?" Fen would swing his legs over the side of the table in preparation to slide down off of it, he was not going to push himself just yet, but he was going to start on the more physical part of the recovery process now, and as long as Akihana did not stop him, he would slowly, and slowly push himself, Next he would slide off the table, and would slowly walk over to Akihana, and if he reaches her, he would smile at her and Say "Well Anything else you think I could Learn from you Akihana?"

When Fenn asked if he could learn something else from her, the kunoichi contemplated for a moment before saying "I can teach you the basics og the water beast technique if you like." The offer was made with the blonde moving towards one of the shelves she had placed all the table's contents on in order to prepare if for surgery. Picking up a dusty glass that likely hadn't seen use in a while, the medic first used her water nature to channel a little bit of plain water into it, watching the glass fill to about two thirds full.

"This should really be done in better settings but I find trying to make such techniques while controlling and suppressing your chakra makes you master them faster," she explained as she set the glass down on the shelf once more. "If we were doing it near a river, lots of water for you to draw form, it would require less chakra control on your part and though your beast would be huge, it would not be as obedient or well controlled as you'd like."

With that, she made the handseals over the clear glass, smiling to herself as she watched the water contained within start to shake and then form into the shape of a tiny beast, banging its little limbs against the glass walls around it. For good measure, the ANBU operative made it do a somersault, jump a foot out of the glass only to land back in without wasting a drop and then dissolve back into a pool of still water.

"See, minimal raw material means better control. Now you try."

He would nod softly as he watched her every move, if only he could see exactly how her chakra flowed to make the beast happen, Fen would copy the handsigns she made, and a shaky looking... Dorkfish was the only way he could describe it, would be made, and then quickly fell apart, Fen's wounds still effecting his ability to use jutsu, but he would not let that get in his way, as he would try again, this time it seemed like a needle, useful, but not what he was looking for, let alone it also fell apart rather quickly, he had to grab his side as he almost buckled over, but he caught himself on the wall behind her, and he would attempt the jutsu once more, and it would form a tiger for all of a couple of seconds before it too fell apart, and Fen had no chance to catch himself, he fainted from the exertion

Akihana watched the redhead struggle to form the jutsu in his weakened state, a precautionary warning on her lips that never left her mouth completely as her golden eyes watched Fenn's continual attempts. She could see the toll it was taking on his strength and yet, if she told him to stop, he would just exert himself even more.

The natural body needed rest, it needed to sleep. And Akihana would never forcibly induce sleep on anyone unless it was for surgery or offensive techniques. As it was, she simply watched him make a third attempt, watched his muscles slacken and his eyes flutter closed as his body crumpled to the ground in a heap. The body's natural defenses under extreme exertions in play.

Moving Fenn to the table once more, the kuoichi resumed her position by his bed where she stayed for the next few hours, letting her teammate rest and recuperate before seeing him home.

Fen had passed out and Akihana seemed to have kept a watch over him, cause when he awoke he found her there still, and he was on the desk he was on previously, he would smile softly as he now felt more rested, and would encourage her home, and he would rest at her place for the night, so she could keep an eye on him, Arata did not give him to much trouble as he was explained the minor details of basically Fen over exerted himself, and so there for he would get some more rest and good food, as Akihana always made the best food in town
