Journey to Shimagakure! part 2
Wed Jan 21, 2015 7:10 pm
Mitako was about to head into Konoha for a quick rest, when he remembered the wrath of Xyxer. The Tenkage wasn't a very nice man (well... he was, but he wasn't to liberal with his affection), and a there was a decent chance that if Mitako arrived later than the rest of the village, he would be branded a missing ninja, and likely be killed on the spot. So he took off, painting in tow, to Shimagakure no Sato. His feet pounded against the dirt trail like pistons, leaving deep foot prints with every step. His heart was pumping almost faster than his legs were carrying him, and his lungs were swelling and deflating at short intervals. He ran like the dickens because of the tail of one Tengakure genin. The genin was beaten by a B rank missing ninja, losing an eye and a kidney in the process. Xyxer then preceded to give him the boot and told him to s find another village to take his sorry ass. Mitako was unsure of how the tale concluded, but he was pretty sure the genin died.
The sudden change of pace invoked the wrath of the one tail yet again, whose boisterous demeanor was starting to make Mitako sick. "I liked that place, go back boy!" For now, Mitako tried to block put the sound of the beast focusing solely on the road ahead. His ability to protect the painting while running was a stroke of luck. He continued west, eventually reaching a coast. Somewhere in the great ocean that lay before him, floated the island country, home to Shimagakure. He had hoped the current villagers and ninja would accept him and the rest of Tengakure being there, as Xyxer pretty much forced them into servitude. Well... not servitude, but he was the villages new Kage. Getting across the ocean proved to be a challenge, as Mitako was left with a farmers rowboat that he procured. He left a note in the sand where the boat was, simply stating 'sorry'.
Setting the rolled up painting on the biggest bench aboard the vessel, Mitako hopped in and started rowing. His arms were autonomous as they pumped back and forth, forcing the boat to glide through the great blue sea. He was starting to wear out, sweat pouring rapidly down his face. Mitako's fragile little brain started hurting, due to the exertion of the past twenty four hours. His biggest hope was that he wasn't late getting there, as he began to fear the consequences far more than the tailed beast that lie within him.
Upon arriving at the shores of the island country, he would crawl out of his tiny vessel, clutching the now slightly battered painting, and make his way up the shore. His heart both dropped and started fluttering, as there wasn't much of a commotion happening outside of the village. This meant that he was either among the first to arrive, or one of the last. Time to find out...
