(that’s ok ^_^ )
Whoops, Hysterio really needed to get around this whole thing about speaking badly, his words had not gone well it seemed. Hysterio, anxious to avoid any potential misunderstandings said “Actually, more of a… duck than anything Mitako, but yup he could help possibly as a scout. I would rather keep him around for a potential surprise attack though. What do you think Youta?”
Hysterio glanced towards the leader of the little troupe and then continued “Oh, and I am reasonable at using the surface walking technique, I have not fought much on top of the water though so I will need to be careful but I should be ok.”
He stretched a little while continuing to speak. “I should be ready to go if you guys are?” His tone was fairly light and friendly, at least, he thought it was, he was trying to relax to hide the jitters that were threatening to pervade his frame, he suspected it showed a little in his eyes though but hopefully nobody thought badly of him for it.
Meanwhile, up in the sky, the duck was getting impatient, doing literal cart wheels while it waited to begin its own evaluation. Hopefully the boy he was assigned to help did not take too long nor his allies, lest he get a black mark on the check list the duck had pulled out of almost nowhere. Coming to a glide in the air, the duck dove out of sight in search of food. If the boy and the others managed to disappear in that short time frame then the duck would finally have a some what interesting job to do. A massive duck standing a good 3.5 meters tall and 4.5 meters in wing span, he would certainly be able to carry the entire team, but only if they had proved them selves worthy first. Even he could be capable of stealth so he would watch from a distance to see what happened.

Mitako hated the water with a deep, deep blue passion. He sunk faster than a stone when he tried to swim, and could only manage to flounder about at best. He kept forgetting, however, that he could use the surface walking technique. Following alongside Youta, he plopped down on top of the water, being brought to the top by his chakra.
"So what exactly are we after?" Mitako was beginning to wonder what the creature looked like, smelled like.... tasted like. He wanted to know if it was big, or gigantic. Was it a bijuu? He didn't know how many existed, nor if they were infinite. Despite his curiosity, he kept it short because he is a quiet child.
Speaking of bijuu, his had been rather inactive lately. Daily harrasment was no longer an issue, and he had no problem keeping the beast's chakra under wraps, unlike usual. Rather than jinx himself and ruin it, he dropped the thought and just went along, content with the break that was provided.

If the two followed her Youta would make her way though the water and small waves. She would take them out of the village and towards one of the local islands. Slowly, as they walked, the mist that surrounded the village would begin to clear, or at least be not as thick. The girl could tell that the sun was shining brightly above it, but the mist made sure only bits of the light actually reached them. Eventually they go to the island and the female Jounin would stop. She was trying to remember the map and where exactly she had guessed the monsters were when the waves suddenly erupted. Grabbing the hilt of Shigure, Youta would turn around and see massive silhouette in the mist about 20 meters behind them. It was unclear what kind of beast it was, but it was not alone. A loud high pitch roar, more like a whistle, echoed around them when several more similar creatures broke the surface around them.
They movement would make the mist clear a bit more and Youta would recognize them being squids of some kind. Well, she expected a few, but not this many. At the moment there were at least five before her. Letting Shigure out of the sheathe the girl would smile. Finally, it would not be boring talking and walking, finally there will be some action. She would glance at the other two, if they were present. "Show me what you've got! And don't die..." with that she would rush towards the nearest one.
[Kay... really sorry this got held up like that. But my stuff mostly ended irl, I think we should just finish this. Go into battle mode, put many details of how you deal with these guys and lets end it in a couple rounds, ok?]

Hysterio was following Youta, and they travelled towards one of the local islands. Suddenly she stopped, sensing something. Hysterio noticed her grabbing the hilt of a sword, and he followed suit, drawing both of the Vibroblades he had bought while in Tengakure. He followed her gaze, and saw a number of giant shapes, which revealed themselves to be… squid. My goodness they are huge. And what could all those tentacles be for if not for grabbing unwary ninjas and pulling them below the water. On the plus side, there was a fair amount of space between each of the squids, it might be possible to deal with them individually. He began running off towards the nearest one as well, noticed Youta was already on it, and then changed course for the second closest, making sure to give the first one a wide berth, having calculated its approximate reach from the height at which some of the tentacles reached, and making sure to stay out of its way. Things would be easier if they, the squids, were unable to help each other. He had no idea of their intelligence but there was a fair bet they could work together, octopi, octupusses, however you called them, were very intelligent, and these were giant cousins. Literally, as far as he knew in terms of biology.
He circled around the first squid and rapidly approached the second one. Perhaps the duck that was supposed to over see this mission to determine whether Hysterio would be allowed to summon him, would be watching at this very moment… from some where… though where he was not quite sure. Keeping his eyes on the squid in front of him, he saw a tentacle rising up in front of him, with two more coming from behind the first tentacle. Shifting so that he was running forward and sideways, he was sprayed with water as the tentacle blasted its way out of the water, just a meter away from him. Changing his angle so that he was running on the water in a circle, he risked looking away from the squid, for just a moment, so that he could aim a swipe at the tentacle with the closer Vibroblade, moving slightly farther away to be able to swing fully. He managed to slice through the tentacle, the beast letting out an extremely shrill whistle, that appeared to agitate the other squid, their tentacles and arms starting to emerge from the water much more frequently. Backing away from the falling tentacle in case it was able to still hit him or try to grab at him, Hysterio noticed the water was starting to rise slightly. Looking underneath him, he saw a second tentacle or arm rising through the water towards him, it appeared the beast wanted to literally slap him, or throw him in the air. Back pedaling suddenly, Hysterio tried to get an approximation of the speed of the rising tentacle, bringing his swords around vertically throwing water and squid juice into the air, intercepting the tentacle, no, arm apparently, as it rose from the water. Thank god the arms were not much thicker or Hysterio would not be able to cut it up properly. This time the tentacle was cut into three pieces, one short section about half a meter long being the space between his swords, a long piece that began to flail around a little, and the last piece attached to the squid still, which was oozing what must be squid blood. Hysterio ran towards the main body of the squid, jumping over the flailing amputated section of the tentacle he had just cut off, being showered half way in blue liquid. He would really have to have a shower if he was able to get through all of this. It was too noisy now with all the water splashing around and the shrill cries of the wounded beast for him to hear anything Youta said unfortunately, and Mitako was even farther away last time he saw him.
He approached the main body of the beast, and, swords dripping in the blue stuff that must be the squid’s blood, started running around on the squid’s head? Or was that its body? Hard to tell when the squids have such big heads. Whils running around, he stabbed his swords both through the hide of the squid and dragged them around, running with his legs extremely bent so that the swords were able to reach about half a meter into the squid’s body. Hopefully the squid would die of blood loss. Jumping off after carving a jig saw puzzle into the squid’s body, and likely ruining a third of its organs, Hysterio began running around the side of the squid’s body or head instead, doing the same process with the swords held at different heights, stabbed in almost to the hilt. The shrill cries of the beast were deafining now and Hysterio was beginning to wish he knew genjutsu again just so he could make the beast shut up. That or ninjutsu so that he would be able to kill the beast from a distance. Having cut up most of the visible surface of the squid’s body that was above water, Hysterio jumped back on top of the squid and began jumping all over the squid’s body, landing with straight legs, hard each time. His swords occasionally had work to do, as arms began flailing at him rather predictably from the squid’s other end, the squid must not be happy about this as the impacts were done at his full strength, and his landing spots were randomly chosen each time, when he landed his swords would take a deep bite into the squid again. After about 10 such attacks, he jumped off the squid, throwing up a massive spray when he landed, the water spraying up and hardly removing any of the squid blood and guts now plastered all over his body from the squid’s convulsions. The beast wailed, the other squid rapidly approaching, only 1 tentacle and 3 arms remaining of its original limbs, its visible surface a mass of pain, cuts, and blood that seeped into the water. The blood must be the reason all those sharks were circling around under water.
Hysterio took several deep breaths, on his last jump the squid had managed to actually hit him while he cut the tentacle off, from the front, and he was still a little winded. He took the opportunity to try and shake off the squid blood that had not yet dried, hopefully the rest would be removable by wash. Running towards another outlying squid, he noticed sharks approaching the spot he had shaken off all the squid blood at. Meanwhile, the squid he had attacked was vainly trying to fight off dozens of sharks, some of the other squid now helping attack the sharks it seemed.
In the mean time, the duck was flying high, level with some low hanging clouds. Looked like there was going to be some fun shit going on down stairs, as all ducks called the water. Hopefully the humans proved worthy, if not, the duck was tasked to bring the bodies back for examination though he was certain there woud be other human ninjas off to pick the current group off. Watching one of the thre down below find the squids, and another struggling in the water, the duck did the duck equivalent of a human grin, quacking in mirth at the sight. Slipping on a pair of Ray-ban aviator sunglasses picked up from the body of a crow vigilante, Dude watched as the humans engaged in battle. How the one with glasses never lost his glasses amused him, the duck doing a barrel roll in the sky as he thought this. What was the most funny was that the paltry humans dared to pick fights with those of his caliber, when they often could not even beat them squids of the sea, those bottom dwellers, and yes he meant that quite literally, whom were often trounced by new duck ninjas. Himself, he could obliterate all the squids pretty easily, in fact this was the kind of job considered for the ducks to be equivalent of kitchen patrol to the humans. Perhaps the ninja below whom he might be helping would prove him self capable of the most menial of duck tasks. That would be quite a feat for a mere human, almost enough to make him an honorary duck. Almost. That would only happen if the paltry human managed to achieve some level of sage energy proficiency, like the ducks.
The duck watched more closely. Looks like Mr. Not So Cool Glasses over there managed to defeat the squid in what must have been a painful ending for the squid. Well, not yet. All those fins underwater could only belong to sharks. Sharks… the ants of the water. That would be a messy way to go for certain. The duck took a moment to destroy an oncoming dragon with a chakra bomb, half asleep now in the air, watching the raging battle below on the water’s surface and a few feet below. The dragon burst in a brilliant display of pyrotechnics, most of it not even close to Dude Duck, the intended target. Meh.

Mitako's ear twitched in response to the sound of the group of squid as they broke the surface of the water. He jerked around, and watched for a second as Youta and Hysterio took off. He sighed, and took off diagonally toward the right, hoping to get one of the outlying squid beasts, rather than charge into the middle and risk being food. Ultimately he found his target, a decent sized squid with red skin and dark eyes.
With his target in his sights, he ran within three meters of the squid and leaped into the air above it, yanking his katana out of its sheath. With both hands on the blade, he had intended to thrust it down into the squid's head/body. Unfortunately, the squid ducked down into the watery abyss, leaving Mitako thrusting his blade into the ocean. He activated the surface walking technique right as his feet touched the ground, causing the smallest splash.
The boy slammed the katana back into its sheathe, right before the squid resurfaced below Mitako's feet, wrapping a rather large tentacle around his ankle. The suction cups on the squid tentacles seemed to conceal some nasty hooks, which would show on Mitako's leg later. He was suspended into the air about three meters by the beast. Since his katana was too clunky for this situation, he reached for the kunai on his belt, the same one that Youta had nailed in the cheek with in Tengakure. Quickly, he attempted stabbing the tentacle repeatedly, but aside from causing a few cuts, the little blade made no progress in getting him down from hold of the beast.

With the corner of her eye the female Jounin would see Hysterio run off towards the second nearest squid. She would turn to her right to see Mitako start moving towards a squid as well. Smiling she would look straight at the sea monster in front of her. As she was closing up on the beast Shigure in her right hand would begin to faintly glow with chakra. Being but a few meters from her prey Youta's eyes would glance down and spot a tentacle moving underwater and coming straight for her. Side stepping to the right she would evade it as it breached the surface. Still with surface walking active the girl would spin on her left foot before landing her right, finding a solid footing and with a strong turn do a horizontal swing with her blade, lobbing half of the tentacle off. She would then jump into the air towards the beast. The whistle of another squid and the pain of losing what could be called a limb made the creature summon remaining of its tentacle in order to catch the girl. But it was unlucky. And it was the fact that Youta was that girl that made the squid unlucky. Shigure, the blade that was Yozora's but was now wielded by her apprentice, would flash and in an instant three pieces of meat would be separated from the squid's body. Youta's eyes now burning in blue glow locked onto her target. Landing on the beast's body, or head, she would sink the blade deep, all the way to the guard. Then with a swift swing she would slash at an incoming tentacle, chopping it off at the same time leaving a huge gash on the squid. But it was not enough. No, it was not. Starting to move sideways the monster's head the girl would put her left hand into her weapon pouch, while looking for the right spot. Her knowledge of squid anatomy was very limited, but she knew they had eyes. And that they had largest penises proportionally to their body. But let's get back to this eyes bullshit. Eyes would make perfect target right? So, by the time she had found one, her left hand would already hold a kunai with an explosive tag attached. I'm sure you can already figure out the rest, but I don't care, I'll describe anyways, because I'm a sick fuck and I like mutilating defenseless chubby wet japanese porn stars. So, diving down the female Jounin would prepare for her plan. She would infuse her blade Shigure with wind chakra, extending it ever so slightly. Then when she was finally by the eye, well crap, she had all these tentacles to deal with right? So yeah, tentacles coming for her sweet and everything, Youta would make like a big swing using flash blade and her blade would flash and everything and the tentacles were not like chopped into sushi and everything yeah? And there was this big ass gash on the squid head, his eye non existent because her sword cut right through it, leaving, as I already said, a big ass gash. Tumbling around Youta would send the kunai inside and push off. She had very limited understanding of squid anatomy, except for two most important facts, as you already know, but she made the right guess that exploding a bomb inside the thing's head would most likely kill it. After successfully landing on the water using surface walking technique Youta would detonate the explosive tag. With a sound that's too complicated to describe and a bunch of under cooked sea food flying around she created a major hole in the squid's head. And right about then she would look at how others were doing conveniently ignoring what apparently was a dragon versus a duck fight above their heads, with the duck owning the pathetic reptilian. Hysterio seemed to be doing just fine, following her example of leaving gashes on squid flesh and making the suckers bleed. Mitako on the other hand got caught was a scrub and Youta actually excepted him to scream like a little girl. But instead the boy was repeatedly stabbing the tentacle that held him, like a little girl.
So he obviously needed her help, yeah. Of course, he did. Unsheathing a ninjato from around the back of her waist and holding it in her left hand Youta would disappear in a blur of speed using the body flicker technique. The girl would appear once more a couple meters from the boy. This moment felt like a good opportunity to use the singing blade and momentarily freeze the creature but there was really no point and she would probably hit her student as well. So she decided not to do it, but proceed with the usual chopping instead. As she was flying by, her blade would flash out at the speed that the boy was most likely unable to track, making the whole move absolutely invisible to him. The result of it would be the tentacle that held him relaxing and begining to fall to the surface as it was severed from the main body. Landing nearby the Jounin would circle the beast making a few aimed slashed meant to blind the creature before running off, leaving Mitako to finish that one. At this point there were but a few remaining squids. Two in fact, if Hysterio and Mitako could deal with theirs. Setting her eyes on the closer of the two Youta would feel somehow relaxed. Like this was her normal state. She could feel the danger, but it did not scare her, it did not bother her, it was normal. And though she was excited with the fight, it was like her mind was separated into two. The first enjoyed the moment, smiled as she slashed away a tentacle and then smirked before thrusting forth the blade. The other part of her was absolutely calm, it was merely observing and it was like all the actions her body took were automatic. It was indeed a very strange sensation, as if her body was burning, blazing with fire, while at the same time a cool stream of water was running throughout it, as if she was standing under a waterfall. Taking a step back Youta would raise Shigure and momentarily focus some decent amount of chakra into is. There was no need to prolong this. With a swift swing she would unleash a vertical wave of chakra. The technique called rupture would head of the squid and make short work of it, actually splitting it in half. The girl would turn at the last remaining squid when she would spot a familiar creature in the air. It was Cael, her dragon, he would ram the sea monster and dive him into the water. There would be splatter of water, but Youta was not too concerned. Cael was a dragon of water and wind, he could fight under the sea just as well as in the air. In a few seconds the water would calm down and a blue liquid that was the squid blood would cover the surface. Looking through the water the girl could already see sharks doing their work with the dead squids that the shinobi provided them. She would wait, looking around, until a few hundred meters away the surface was breached and her dragon flew into the clouds, disappearing in the direction of the village. Should the fighting be done, she would sigh, with a swing throw the blood of her blades, then sheathe them and bring her team home. What they had done there was a massacre, really. But even if those squids had not attacked them, they were attacking ships. They saved people by killing the sea monsters. That's what she would tell her team on their way back.

So yeah, guys... I may have gotten carried off a bit at some point, got really bored typing all that. Let's just finish with one round okay? Spawn more squids if you need to.]

Hysterio looked up and saw the duck descending. In fact it seemed as if it was about to bombard him. The duck pulled to a stop though in front of him, flying in a small circle in the air, as the duck suddenly began to talk to Hysterio. “Seems like you have some capability, small fry. I still need to see some evidence of your skills though. Might be worth Considering you. As the duck flew off into the distance, it launched a chakra bomb, that blew up the 6th and largest squid, that had been stealthily rising up through the water following Youta’s exit, aiming to get revenge. The Duck adjusted his sun glasses mid-flight, though how remains a secret to this day. Down below, Hysterio walked over to Mitako and said “You ok?”
He had managed to watch the latter bit of Youta’s attack on the other squids, and frankly he could not help but admire the speed at which they were dispatched. Seemed like his cautious approach was a little too slow sometimes, he might not have been able to help Mitako in time.
If Mitako was fine, Hysterio would begin walking back to the main island. Along the way he took off his shirt, and was about to drag it in the water in an attempt to remove the squid blood, but realized the salt would ruin it, so he instead put it over one shoulder, and walked the rest of the way. His swords he swung quickly several times, as Youta had done, but the squid blood had partially dried on, and his results were mixed at best.
Arriving and entering the compound to receive his reward, he noticed he was not the only one who had been out killing squids that day. Apparently some had actually ruined their shirts, and some had sucker marks on them, most likely from arms, since those had more suckers than tentacles but who knows.
When he received his payment, he counted the money and noticed it seemed he got a bit of a bonus, about 800 Ryo more than he was supposed too. Sounds like not everyone made it back from the mission and the others split the remaining pay. Not too good a system, it might encourage infighting actually.
He walked down the streets again, towards his dwelling, as that had never bene specified. It fit in the building codes between a small town house, and an apartment building, the key issue being that the entrances all linked to a single door. If you knew the right password, opening one door would get you into any room you wanted. The following room he lived in was small but usable, scratches the first week from his sword training had used up his deposit though.

["Her knowledge of squid anatomy was very limited, but she knew they had eyes. And that they had largest penises proportionally to their body. But let's get back to this eyes bullshit." Your whole post is a gold mine, shit made my day.]
Mitako finally, and suddenly felt the the squid's grip relax from his ankle as he fell shortly to the the surface of the ocean. The surface walking technique, when applied to the whole body, made the water feel like one would feel if they threw themselves against something solid. Mitako hit the ocean as if it were concrete, and rose to his feet only to see his savior on the the run to defeat more giant squid. What a shame, the only thing the kunai he dropped got to cut was Mitako. He jerked his head toward his squid, which was pretty much squirming around in a blind rage at this point, and Mitako decided to finish it off. Taking a few steps, Mitako began charging the little skin colored device that was hidden in his palm and had yet to see the light of day, as he had never used it before. As he neared closer to the blind squid, (and as the adrenaline wore off) he realized he was in no way calm nor relaxed, and leaped forward like a frightened animal as he thrust his palm at the squid's mouth area. Right before his hand would touch the squid's mouth area, the chakra cannon went off with a rather bright flash, sending a decent size chakra blast into the squid, leaving little bits of the squids mouth cavity scattered around the ocean. Mitako even got a little blood splattered on him. Fuckin' gross. Like seriously, I bet squid tastes great on the normal occasion, but not when it's a giant squid who's mouth just exploded all over a young child. Then it's fucking gross. I only got like four hundred or so more words to go too. Damn.
After that, Mitako yanked his katana out of its hilt and tried to stab at the body as it sunk lifelessly into the water, leaving a blue diffusing trail in the water on its descent into the abyss. He then kinda just watched as Youta danced her way around the remaining squid, finishing them as if they were nothing, literally cutting one of them in half. She looked way too natural doing this, and it kinda scared Mitako. Not as much as he was scared of the life threatening squid, but he would certainly hate to be on the other village's side if the Kirigakure went to war with anyone. He also noticed Hysterio's duck for the first time... which was kinda weird... with the glasses and what not... BUT, in a world filled with people with giant beasts inside, talking animal summons, and people who could level cities in mere minutes, he'd let it slide without thinking too much about it.
After all was said and done, he replied to Hysterio with "I guess I'm fine." As they headed back, he'd thank him, "Thanks for asking, by the way." Aside from that, Mitako was pretty quiet on their way back, like he usually was. He didn't take care to remove his clothes or weapons of the squid's blood either, so when he got back to the compound with his teammate and leader, he gained a few sideways looks from some of the faceless ninja. The semi-dead look in his eye didn't help his case either. As the secretary (or whatever ya wanna call him/her/it) handed him his money, she (it's a girl, guys) placed it on the table rather than actually hand him the money, because she didn't want to touch him on accident. Mitako understood why too, sane people didn't just waltz around a place covered in squid blood and guts while equipped with swords and other ninja weapons like it was an everyday thing. OK maybe some sane people, but it was a rare occasion. Only like a hundred and fifty words now. The macho man Randy Savage approves, Oh Yeyuh.
After that, he went ahead and took it upon himself to leave for home without saying goodbye, maybe that was a dick move, but ya know. He was covered in blood and stuff, maybe he didn't wanna stay around and chat. And so he took off at a slow pace, back to the pier that he had arrived at this place on and waited for his team mates for the mission, and sat underneath it. But before he made his way home, he accidently bumped into a ninja on his way out of the area. Sure the ninja was pissed, and was about to start another two thousand word long mission that would entail Mitako fighting this dude, but the ninja held constraint due to the blood and bits of squid flesh adorned Mitako's clothing. Now, let's get back to Mitako, as he was homeless and had yet to be appointed housing. But besides that, the pier was at least good at keeping the rain off his head... sometimes. Which was good enough for Mitako. Mitako's brain thought of one goal while he drifted off into sleep, and that thought was to catch up with his team. Because he was pretty far behind. Like for real, he's probably being cut to bits by Hysterio on a different thread by now. All thanks to Xyxer and the suprise exam known as the Kirigakure chuunin exam.
