Fellow Mellow (P,Nk,Jace)

The stars were beautiful brilliant diamonds in ocean of black that was the night sky. The moonlight seemed to wash over Jace as he walked. That's right, it's the middle of the night and the most socially awkward genin in Konoha is outside walking around, heading toward the training grounds. Why you might ask? Because the first post of this topic was made by Kyo, thats why. Anyway back to the walking in the moonlight. 

Jace always liked the night time. It calmed his mind and let him feel comfortable when he usually wasn't. For someone so socially awkward it was certainly a welcome reprieve. The cool night air engulfed Jace, the silvery moonlight elongating his shadow and giving the village a luminescence that Jace found beautiful. He had had trouble sleeping tonight and decided he would take the time to walk around the village and enjoy the stillness. The village was always so teeming with life that it was hard to really enjoy the beauty of it during the day. 

He had been aimlessly wandering around the village for about an hour now, letting his mind wander as he walked. His thoughts tended to lean toward his meetings with the Ita and what Jace would do next. He hadn't been assigned to a team yet and hadn't found one himself either. He wondered how he would get along with his future teammates. How well would they be able to work together? He was still trying to be less awkward and shy around new people. He had been that way for as long as he could remember so it wasn't easy but he had promised himself he would work on it. Eventually Jace found himself at the training grounds, close to the spot he had first ran into Ita when he was practicing for his Genin exam. 

Jace blinked his eyes as he realized where he was. The training grounds were empty as far as Jace could see. It made sense since it was the middle of the night. Most of Konoha were probably asleep in their beds, like Jace should be. If he were more experienced, he would probably be able to sense the boy sitting in a tree a few meters away from him. Unfortunately Jace hadn't quite learned how to do that yet. So instead of introducing himself awkwardly, Jace would just walk over and sit with his back to the very same tree that the other boy was sitting in.

Tears slowly fell from Kyo's eyes as he stared up at the night sky, it looked as if the moon was red but it was only a illusion from the tricks his mind was playing on him. It had been only 30 minutes since he was away from home. He knew his mom did not have very long to live and he was sure that from the way she looked now the longest he could give her were up to two days. He would wipe the tears from his eyes as he lay his back on the long thick tree branch while keeping himself balance. He had slowly begun to drift off into a endless sleep when he heard the crunch of dried up leaves from the winter snow. Quickly getting up from his lying position he would see a kid who looked to be 14 slowly walk over to the tree he sat in, Kyo did not know whether or not the boy just did not see him or if he did and was just to shy to introduce himself. He saw that the boy sat up under Kyo's branch and lade his back to the tree. Still in his sitting position Kyo would look down at the boy and say " How you doing mate ". Kyo could see that he had messy black hair but something he did not notice until now was the very familiar red and white fan of the Uchiha clan on the kid's back. 

Kyo did not know whether he was an Uchiha or just one of those fanboys he occasionally met in the city. Deciding to go with him being a Uchiha he would say " Well it seems us Uchiha think a lot, I occasionally come here and sit in a tree to ease my mind seeing as I have a lot of things going on in my life right now " said Kyo as he continued to looked down at the boy. During his life Kyo began not to get close with many Uchiha unless they were his family seeing as when a Uchiha wants to get stronger they kill the one closest to them. Kyo did not see why power was so sought out among the Uchiha. Unlike the rest of his people Kyofu longed for peace but was always up for a fight.

No sooner did Jace sit down that a voice broke the silence of the night air. "How you doing mate" It had come from directly above Jace. Thinking he had been completely alone, the statement completely startled him out of his reverie. "W-where did you come from?" Jace stammered in response. "I thought I was the only one here. Did you say 'us uchiha'?" Jace seemed to be meeting quite a few members of his clan the past few days. 

From what Jace could see, the boy had longer black hair than he did and it was sort of spiked in the back. He was definitely a few years older than Jace, but he didn't see any headband on him which meant he was probably still a student. It was odd to see both a boy younger than him at a higher rank and a boy older than him at a lower rank than he was in a span of only a few days. Jace had heard the boy say he was out here thinking because he had a lot going on in his life. Indeed when Jace took a closer look it seemed the boy had been crying. Jace wasn't very good in these situations, he never really knew what to do.

"A-are you ok? You look lie you've been crying."

Kyo looking at the boy would see that he was quite startled when Kyo began to speak to him." A-are you ok you look like you've been crying " . Kyo would nod as he wiped the rest of the tears away and said " Do not worry just have some thing going on at the moment and crying is the best way to express your feelings " said Kyori as he continued to look at the boy. From the way the boy kept stammering Kyo would realise that he was shy. It was not often that he met Uchiha who were shy. Well correction he never met an Uchiha that was shy. Continuing to look at the boy he would say " By the way no reason to stammer and be so shy around me, we both are Uchiha family you might say so you should feel safe if not anything when you are around one. " however Kyo was only telling the half truth. Not all Uchiha were safe, he was not sure of the boy even knew about the Mangekyo Sharingan and if he did how did he know. Most Uchiha parents did not tell theur children of the clan's most powerful stage of the doujutsu until they came of age. But Kyo sort of figured out their was a stage beyong the 3rd Tomoe when he saw people within his clan begin to go blind.

He had figured that much strain was being put to their eyes from the new mutation." So what is your name " asked Kyo to the young Uchiha as his eyes went back up to the moon.

Jace watched as the boy wiped his eyes in response to Jace's question. He had said not to worry, that crying was a good way to express his feelings. Jace felt the warmth of blood flooding his cheeks at that. He couldn't help blushing. He wasn't comfortable talking about his own feelings let alone hearing about someone else's or seeing an older boy crying. This boy was certainly more open than Jace ever was. To Jace, it kind of seemed like they were opposites in a way. Jace was shy and awkward and hated to show his emotions while this boy was openly crying and telling Jace he had something going on in his life. He didn't seem to have a problem being the first one to introduce himself to a stranger either. It made Jace a little envious if he was being honest with himself. 

"Um, my name is Jace. What's yours?" he said to the boy, deciding now was as good a time as any to work on his shyness. He was determined to get over it one of these days. Maybe he'd get lucky and become good friends with this boy. 'It would be nice to have more friends from the same clan as me.' Jace thought to himself. He gave the boy a weak smile as he waited to see if the boy would tell him his name in return for Jace's.

Jace? Well that sounded like a really cool name thought Kyo as he continued to look up at the moon. He did not know many people names Jace, well correction he did not know anyone named Jace until now. Smiling Kyo would look down at the boy and say " My name is Kyori but mist just call me call, fee free to call me either " said the Uchiha who was now almost an adult. His face had turned from the boy and back up at the night sky looking at the moon. He could see dark rain clouds coming from the distance. But rain clouds this late in the winter? If they were not rain clouds it was sure to be a snow storm." it was be nice to have more friends from the same clan as me " said Jace causing Kyo to come out of his thoughts and look down at the boy. Deciding to give him some advice Kyori would say " Jace was it, let me tell you a little bit of advice my old man told me " taking a deep breat he would fall slowly off the not so high up tree and hold his gand out dor young Jace to grab. If Jace was to grab his hand he would say " Do not always seek friends because in the end they are the ones who hold you back ".

However Kyori was not telling the complete truth, sure if you can find someone who would not kill you for power you found yourself a nice friend but he knew amongst his clan there were many backstabbers and what he would do to stop them. But of cpurse he can't read minds to figure out who is who so he saw no case in looking for them. Looking the now standing Jace in the eyes he wpuld say " How bout we do a little spar and after that go to a ramen shop or something ". Not many people would agree to his offer seeing as it was late at night and kinda wierd.

Jace was still looking up at the boy when he responded. The boy had been looking up at the moon and then turned to face Jace as he spoke. He said his name was Kyori and that Jace should call him Kyo. Kyori. Kyo. It was certainly an interesting name. He had never heard one quite like it before. The boy, Kyo it would seem, seemed to have heard Jace's thoughts when he was thinking about how it would be nice to have more friends from the same clan. Kyo said to Jace that his father had told him that friends held you back. The small smile on Jace's face fell slightly when he heard that. Did it mean Kyo didn't want to be friends with him? Jace hoped that wasn't the case. He didn't have many friends and was hoping Kyo would become one. 

Kyo slipped down from the branch he was on to land on the ground next to Jace. Then Kyo held his hand out to Jace, seemingly to help him up. Jace hesitated for a moment but then grabbed the boy's hand and let him help him to his feet. They were looking at each other in the eyes now, something that was usually very hard for Jace to do and this was no different. He had to fight the impulse to look away. 

"How bout we do a little spar and after that go to a ramen shop or something." 

Jace thought it was kind of an odd request. It was the middle of the night and Kyo had just been crying. He thought about it for a moment. Maybe asking for a small spar was his way of trying to distract himself from whatever was bothering him. Finally, after a few moments of silence, Jace finally decided he would take Kyo up on his offer. He liked helping people after all and it would be good to get in some practice. Besides, after the spar he could get some ramen and he was certainly hungry. Maybe he would even get a chance to learn more about Kyori. "Alright. Yea lets go ahead and have a quick spar. It might be fun."

Jace turned and walked away from Kyori until they were exactly 3 meters apart. Jace didn't have any weapons on him and didn't really think they would be necessary in this fight anyway. "Taijutsu only. No weapons. I'll make the first move if you don't mind." Jace said to Kyori after turning back around to face him. Jace took a deep breath as he prepared for his first move. He had never really sparred against anyone before. He played small scale war games with his father as a type of training but they never really sparred. He wondered how he would do against Kyo. Opening his eyes, Jace came out of his reverie. He began to run straight at Kyo, aiming a punch straight at Kyori's face using his right arm.

Jace acted quite fast surprising the boy that the young shy one would act so quick. He seemed to be the same speed of Kyo giving Kyo the idea that maybe he could take the kid on. He knew the kid was not a pushover from him wearing his Konoha headband only given to those who have graduated from the academy. He saw that the Jace was running straight at him in a line not even attempting to form a zig zag. He saw that he was aiming a punch at Kyo's face with his left hand. Jace's punch was coming at 15 speed giving Kyo just enough time to react. If Jason would continue his punch to his face Kyo would raise both of his forearms to cover his face 6 inches out so he would not deal damage. If the kid try to go for anywhere else on his upper body he would use his forearms to take the damage.

He could tell from how the kid moved that he was a trained strategist. He knew that the kid would not move in a straight line for a reason, he was a Uchiha he was trying to figure Kyo out trying to see what he was made of. He knew that in that shy shell somewhere was the will of fire in Jace that could be brought out to destroy many.

Jace kept his senses peeled as he began his attack. His dad had hammered into him the importance of staying observant at all times. The smallest thing could give away an opponents thoughts, show their next actions, reveal their weaknesses. It was strange. Jace seemed to be a completely different person when he was focused on an opponent like this. It was probably because he had been playing small scale war games with his father since he was five years old. This was something familiar to him, something comforting. It was the unknown that made Jace so awkward and shy. This, however, was not unknown. This was as familiar to Jace as his own reflection. 

It was clear to Jace almost immediately that Kyo didn't have much experience in fighting or strategy, not like Jace did, not when it came to strategy anyway. Jace could clearly see Kyori raise his arms to cover his face. That was probably one of the worst things he could have done. With his arms in front of his face like that, Kyori wouldn't be able to clearly see what Jace was doing. Jace decided to take advantage of that fact and made a split second decision on how to follow up his attack, or rather how to change his attack. Just when Jace's fist was an inch away from making contact with Kyori's forearms, Jace would drop into a crouch instead of finishing his punch. From the crouching position, Jace would immediately begin to spin counter clockwise, aiming a kick with his right leg to sweep Kyori's feet off the ground while balancing on his left leg. 

If Jace was successful in getting Kyori off the ground, he would continue his 360 degree spin at full speed and stand up when he was facing Kyori once more. From his standing position, Jace would aim a punch with his right hand at Kyori's stomach, probably sending him to the ground directly on his back and knocking the wind out of him. If this happened, Jace would finish by standing over Kyori looking down at the boy, poised to respond to any counterattacks if necessary.
