Sheep (Kirino) and Wolf Apparently (The Princess)

When Kirino saw the eyes of the women begin to turn red, she instinctively looked away from them. Some genjutsu and doujutsu rely on locking gazes and I could already be trapped. The girl pinched her own skin briefly to see if she still had some feeling. Touch is usually one of the senses retained in a genjutsu. Looking around with only her pupils she determined everything was still how it had been. The color of the trees, the smell of the leaves, the feeling of the breeze, and the buzzing of the bees all senses checked out as normal and taste was unusual for genjutsu to target.
 
Each time Kirino struck this women seemed to read the attack before it happened and move to avoid. Even the attack she had made from an awkward position seemed to have been read through and evaded by the lady. There would be little gained by switching the attack pattern mid-swing it would only slow the strike and give the hyuuga a much wider opening. So instead of that the girl applied chakra to her feet, attaching leaves and fallen debris to her feet. Raising the leg she released the flow of energy letting the leaves loose as a distraction. Then punching forward Kirino was blocked by the woman’s fists. She has good eyes. She must be very experienced, as most shinobi of my level couldn’t have read that.
 

With her leg returning to the ground it seemed the Hyuuga member had other plans as she captured it and moved forward. Which then caused the Kaguya to trip and begin a descent to the ground, but it would seem Kiranomo had other plans as she held onto the leg and threw Kirino in the opposite direction. If this were an actual fight, I would die. The girl thought as she was tossed onto the ground of the forest. Kirino stood quickly readying for another attack not particularly worried about the dirt now on her kimono. By the time that Kirino stood and looked back it looked as though the Hyuuga was doing something odd. Should I let this hit me and try to over power with the bone armor jutsu? No way, out here if anyone were after the shikotsumyaku they would be able to take it without anyone being able to stop them.

"While it is important to practice the arts that you're learning to master I must let you know that in a sparring situation it's generally a bad decision to lead with it. I countered easily not because I was able to predict your movements but because you decided to in essence tell me exactly how you were going to attack. With a technique like that I also feel it important to let you know that you should set up first. There are quite a few flaws to the execution of the leaf rising wind if used as an opener. Those are reduced if your speed is greater but only by a little. Generally you want to open up their guard and slip past their defenses first, otherwise it will be you that's sent flying." her analysis was simple but a bit wordy, however it wasn't technically a lie. Of course she'd read the girl's attacks as they came, using her eyes and battle knowledge to wade through the possible responses and counter responses in order to set up a defense against generally anything the body could do to stop her counter attack, but in essence it was the wide open kick that had allowed her such an easy time.

"Come at me again, and this time think through your attacks. The goal is to put your opponent in a position where they can't dodge the kick because one you begin the coiling of your body to get enough power to push them upward eliminates your own guard and allows your body to be opened far too easily. Also try using levels, not just levels of your attacks but levels of your body. Look at the area around you as attacking and movement space not just what you can see at shoulder level. This is the fundamentals of the demon style I used to counter you. Next you will see the effects of the hyper dance style. "

So it wasn’t so much that she read through my attack pattern as much as I had told her. Well then I must certainly stop doing that. Hmm, a set up to knock someone off of their guard. Kirino listened to Kiranomo as she was clearly experienced and knew what it is she was talking about. The kick does leave me open to attack, which is why I shouldn’t start with it this time around. Still listening as the Hyuuga spoke Kirino relaxed her footing a bit as it seemed the woman wasn’t going to attack during her lecture on taijutsu. ”Thank you, Mrs. Hyuuga you have been very helpful.” Kirino said as the women finished.
 
Kirino didn’t attack immediately as her sparring partner said come at me again. The women had also said to find an opening so moving her eyes around she looked for things that could be to her advantage. Use the terrain, huh. I could use the trees to get higher up to create an opening. I should probably try that. Making a turn to the right side the girl began to move forward climbing to a tree with chakra placed into her feet she began to jump around onto other trees not letting the woman know from which angle the attack would come. Kirino was sure she would read the attack regardless though.
 
Springing from the tree Kirino’s leg took on a red aura as it went towards the Hyuuga. That is the dynamic entry, now to break her guard down just a little bit. Once the foot touched down she would feint a kick how while attacking low with the other. Leaf whirlwind now I should move into the rising wind if she either jumps out of the way or even blocks. If Kiranomo blocked the kick Kirino’s right leg would attack the thing used to block arms, legs, whatever. If she were to back up however Kirino would step forward and try the technique again once she had stopped moving. The leg would aim for the chin once more and try to send the girl up.
 

Through all of this though Kirino was wondering about the effects of the hyper dance style was it like her dances or were they something different all together? It was something Kirino wanted to find out, but not if it meant getting tossed around again.

Kira smiled seeing the girl turn her attention from her own form to begin her next attack. It seemed she was listening at least, but as the kaguya's feet began to glow Kira let out a sigh. There was another important lesson to be taught here. Fortunately for kirino she'd committed to the effects of her hyper dance style. Were she still fighting with demon style the counter would be too easy. Unfortunately for kirino however, she was currently fighting in the hyper dance style. her eyes shifted to and fro as she watched the girl high above her head, anticipating the point when she would strike again. A small shift in the child's hips tipped Kira off at the direction she would be heading, and experience letting her know the shift in her body's focus point meant she would probably now be coming towards herself. Kira Spun as Kirino began her final vault forward to attack her, dropping her height level in a mock sweep, her speed increasing just as the girl's did. With a flip forward she put herself easily out of range of the girl's strike, her ability to shift direction destroyed by the fact that she was in aerial combat, and with the fundamentals of her fighting style the attack would finally begin.

Three meters forward from her initial position Kira caught herself in what would appear similar to a back hand spring, her back bending to once more put her feet on the ground, and then she was off once more. Before the girl could touch the ground, Kira too was airborn, her lead shoulder curling inward to turn her body as she sent a string of attacks at the girl's exposed back. Three swift kicks would rain down on the girl's form, sending her sprawling away from kira's form to float towards the ground, inevitably hitting the ground fairly hard. With another flip kira would continue her own momentum, calling out silently for the cry of sorrow.

With a blood curdling screech the twin daggers of disdain formed in her hands, granting a very specific ability as she shifted their abilities. Her momentum stopped almost immediately, about half the distance that Kirino would fly assuming her attacks went through as explained, her arm reaching out as a large shield was formed. Her fingertips gripped the circular barrier, flipping her around the bottom of it and upward to simply land safely on the top of what would now appear to be a ledge created specifically for her purpose.

"Next lesson, Aerial combat. In general you shouldn't do it. Unless you have a way of shifting your direction in the middle of the air it's over all a negative to lose your ability to effectively react. Ways around this are of course the ability to fly or using a barrier style that gives you something to stand and vault off of if need be. "

Kirino got up, taking inventory of any damage before setting up to prepare once more. She seemed to at least be able to recoil from damage well enough. That was good. As the girl prepared to attack again Kira released the shield, dropping back down to the ground. She could hear the taijutsu user beginning once more to take to the trees as she bend down, picking up the small black weapon she'd been crafting. The kunai was set back in her bag, and one of the twin chained daggers set in a gap between the plating and chain mail of her armor where it would be safe from harm, both to the weapon and to her. With this done she searched the area with her chakra sensory, scraping off small bits of the wood to finish up one of the tips of her senbon. Her target was found fairly easily thanks to powerful sensory.

With a glance, she saw the small girl rushing.... down a tree? Hadn't she just ran u... ah. Her attack was fairly clear, if kira's positional change between my post and hers facilitated the same attack, and would he handled simply. Shifting on her heels Kira rose up, using her lead leg to shift around, flashing her back at the girl's for barely a moment before her counter was enacted. The spinning maneuver with the bulk of her body no longer upright allowed Kirino's form to easily foat over Kira, her attack meeting open air for barely a moment before their legs would clash. Assuming things went as described Kira's hook kick would find the girl's own leg, her leg wrapping slightly around the top of Kirino's knee to grasp the girl's body. The rest would be history.

The momentum of her spinning kick would simply throw the girl away from her, her hook kick opening up an eight of a turn after she grasped the girl's leg and sending her once more flying towards the ground. Kira's heels seemed to glide without friction as her lead leg touched down once more, spinning her body a full second time before her heel set down, digging into the soft dirt to stop her. As is natural, if anything changed between the attack position her powerful eyes would watch to respond in kind.

"A little better, but still Aerial combat. It really requires specific things to pull off. It's generally for the best if you dodge it. Were you facing a ninjutsu user who willingly used their techniques you'd be toasted by fire or drown before you got in range. Similarly were I to use the power of my blood you'd have been poked full of holes far before your attack could connect. Taijutsu is about being able to react in an instant to your opponents techniques. failing to be able to do so is suicide in real combat. "

It seemed fairly difficult to get past the Hyuuga’s defense every attempt so far had been thwarted and left Kirino rolling around on the ground. This time her invitation to the dirt was given by a leg that caught the Kaguya’s body. With learning about how to fight she had also learned how to tuck and roll along the ground to avoid making more injuries. One the final roll the girl untucked her legs, as her feet made contact with the floor of the woods and sprang up trying to catch her balance as soon as she had stood. She was dizzy for a moment, the images of the woods were blurry and the woman who was beating her up stood on the ground still working on her weapon. Even with the distractions presented by the bone spewing girl, this lady could just dodge and attack without so much as looking away from her work.

So it counts as aerial combat as long as I don’t have a wide range of mobility? She is right though for taijutsu to be effective I need to outmaneuver. ”Thank you again, Mrs. Hyuuga. You have been a considerable amount of help.” Okay, so what I need to do is try and out pace, she has experience and strength on her side. I’m sure those eyes have something to do with her speed as well. So, maybe I need to eliminate the eye factor. To do that though it would have to be dark, so it won’t work. The only thing I can do is try to outsmart her, but she seems pretty intelligent. Kirino looked from tree to tree mentally gauging the distance between each. Then she ran behind one and made the clone seal forming a look alike that appeared next to Kirino.

The real Kirino ran in the front towards Kiranomo while the clone took the back. When the duo got close the clone leaped up and came crashing down in front of the real one, but Kirino ran through her own clone and made a sweep with her leg to the Hyuuga’s head trying to send her up into the air. If the attack worked as planned she would follow the lady with the dancing leaf shadow and then tag the woman to let her know she understood the technique. If it did not happen as planned though surely Kirino would be spiraling towards the ground once more and would have to roll. Her body mostly felt like option two was coming as it screamed with anticipation for the girl not to run in the direction of the Hyuuga only moments ago.

The response was met with a wave of her hand as Kira once more put her concentration on the task at hand. Through chakra sensory she watched the girl's movements, until she noticed a strange anomaly. Her gaze shifted upward, the power of her sharingan eyes shifting between the two. Turning she seemed to set her attention on the clone, her lip curling upward into a smile as she watched her opponents movement, a bright glow of chakra shifting towards her. As the girl dropped downward the soft, almost melodic twhick of metal on wood stopped, the senbon sliding into the center of her palm. Once more Kirino decided to attempt to use the taijutsu technique they'd spoken of earlier, but without sufficient set up her plan would once more meet open air.

Seemingly without having a way to see Kirino's movements she rolled forward, Hands meeting cold earth to vault herself just out of reach. She considered once more counter attacking but felt the danger of combat within demon stance once more would potentially cause damage due to the sharpened weapon in her hand. As she continued, getting away from the taijutsu user her hands closed up, the weapons placed against the ground as she vaulted off of them once more drawin into her palm.

As her foot met with open air once more the girl wasn’t all that surprised. With doujutsu the ability to detect chakra is common, I would need to use a different kind of clone if I was actually going to confuse her with it. There was one small victory that Kirino had seemed to accomplish, she made the kind and lovely Hyuuga training her to stop working on her weapon as she jumped backwards in an effort to avoid the blow. She didn’t smile though, as they would give someone as strong as Kiranomo a read on her opponent. Kirino wasn’t someone who liked to be read, she liked to think her actions weren’t easy to predict.

She said I would need some sort of set up for the rising wind to work. Maybe if I try to use a few more taijutsu attacks I can catch her off guard. The woman was springing backwards at this point and all Kirino had to wonder was why she wasn’t spiraling through the air and rolling around in dirt at this point. She didn’t seem to be worried before about attacking. Maybe this is the time to try and attack.

Moving forward Kirino threw out a left jab to the Hyuuga’s midsection. Then jumping back to avoid any attack if one would come the Kaguya was ready to move forward once more. Stepping forward Kirino sent a low-kick towards the other woman’s leg, followed by another punch with the right hand to the woman’s left side. She then tried to knock the woman off of her feet using the leaf whirlwind. If Kiranomo would be swept off of her feet by the attak, Kirino would try to use the rising wind once more and if that worked she would try to use the dancing leaf shadow.

If the attacks went the other way, the more realistic way when fighting a much stronger opponent, the attacks would all miss and the Kaguya would be rolling across the ground. There was also one more way the battle could go from that point the Hyuuga woman could attack while the Kaguya was setting up her attacks and only end the assault after getting in a few good shots. That was only one of the ways the battle could have went at that point of course. There was also the fact that the Hyuuga was experienced in ninjutsu. As before the two had spoken the woman had pulled some water out of the lake.

Once more her hands broke from their task, her left hand releasing the block of wood which slid into her occupied hand, allowing her three apendages with which to defend. Their arms met for barelly a moment as Kira countered, Her free hand twisting downward to block the attack wrist on wrist, palm opened. She'd counter the girl's back track easily, turning her hand over the girls just after impact to catch the girl's attack and holding her, assuming this went as planned. WIth a shift of her hips she'd pull the girl's body forward, knocking her off guard and sending her sprawling forward once more, hip tossing her a few meters to meet the ground again.

"A bit better, though I must advise. My counter attack met reverse momentum about the time that I shifted to hip toss you. If you engage your opponent do not immediately pull back. Get inside their guard and continue the fight. If you allow them to completely reset then you have the issue of them becoming the aggressor. That is not an ideal situation." She was getting a bit tired of the Taijutsu, half because of the simplicity of hand to hand combat and part do to her split concentration.

Assuming these actions went as described she'd shift her items back into her bag, forming a single hand seal and thanks to her twin summoning tatoos causing two small puffs of smoke to appear within the bag hidden beneath her armor. "I'll just need a moment. Seems i'm a bit more out of practice then i'd realized." The twin drakes went to work without having to be told to, transfering powerful nature energy to refresh the girl. Maybe she'd show Kirino the effects of her incomplete sage mode. that could be an interesting trick she might enjoy, though quite the over kill. Either way the moment their clawed hands began transmitting strength into her she felt significantly better, refreshed by the incredible effect faewild energy had on her form, and allowing her mind to clear.
