Re: Meeting with the King of Snakes (Den)

His first Wood release technique? Well that had certainly put the biggest smile on the males face and when he had heard that it didn't deter him from learning the technique in the slightest. Sitting down he watched earnestly he listened to the instructions of Den on how to complete the jutsu without failing though hearing that it took a certain amount of concentration in order to grow them in a specific area rather than everywhere. When Den had made the staff with the jutsu, the little blue haired male scuttled on over to pick it up before sitting back in his original position and continued listening. Seeing that there was a bit of complications with the jutsu, he began to listen slightly while drawing what he had originally wanted his weapon to look like, a simple bokken would do enough for him.
Now that he had a general idea he began the process of mixing the earth and water chakras together to create the mokuton element within him, feeling it mix in the depths of his stomach which had been step one. The second step had been imagining the weapon coming out of his stomach which had been where he had first started to focus the chakra and as such began to slowly push the chakra out slowly. At first he could feel the chakra pushing out but at first it came as a small twig in which he looked at it oddly for a moment, and succeeded to chop it off. With that he looked at the small nub and sighed sticking it into the ground and slowly trying again. With each attempt he only succeeded in making small branches which actually started to frustrate him. With the large amount of effort that he was putting into it he was not getting good results.
So for a moment he picked up the staff that Den had and looked over it slowly, his eyes scanning over the construct until he had sighed and sat it down. With a small breathe he began to try it again, slowly pushing out the chakra into a tangible form until the bokken had formed though it came out deformed. Cutting it slowly he looked at it though it was far from perfect even if he had barely managed to form the technique. Sitting it down he would keep trying at it, slowly making small perfections in the sword until after his tenth try it finally came out the way he wanted it," Yay!"

As Dusk practiced Wood Release Cutting Den would continue with his own training. Satisfied for now with his progress with the simple Earth Release technique Den decided he'd practice a wood release jutsu while Dusk trained. It’s complexity was about on par with that of the wood clone technique however it’s combative uses were similar to that of World of Trees.
The technique was known as Wood Release: Foo Dog Heads and it was a wood release technique that created wooden statues that the user could manipulate and that could even steal chakra from those who were touched by the technique, though from Den’s theoretical studies of the technique so far it seemed that the technique wouldn’t give him any chakra. Den knew of the techniques existence from the memories of a Senju whom Naoki had shown to him during his stay in Shimagakure, between that shinobi, Minorin, and Kokou Den had quite a bit of knowledge of Senju techniques.
Den walked away from the Senju as he practiced, taking a seat 5 meters away from the boy. He’s given the boy the knowledge he needed for the technique, now he simply needed to put in the practice. Taking a deep breath Den allowed his chakra to seep into the ground beneath him, feeling it makes its way through the earth easily. Techniques that channeled chakra into the ground had always been easy for Denkiteki, he’d learned earth techniques that utilized the ground beneath him since he was a young genin.
The only difference between this technique and those that he used as a child was he had to create water chakra as well in the ground, combining it with his earth natured chakra and creating life within the ground beneath him. To Den’s left and right he began the process of creating the Foo Dog heads. He performed the hand seals for the technique and channeled his chakra through his left hand and into the ground, noting the symbol that grew upon his hand as he did so.
In the ground beneath him the statues shifted, Den finding it somewhat difficult to create the right shape. He was used to creating normal trees, sometimes weapons with wood release not statues. He had made a statue once on the island of Shimagakure but that had been with a technique he was very familiar with, not one that was new to him like this one was.
While he practiced he would watch Dusk as he attempted to make a sword. There were a few moments that Den thought Dusk may need more guidance but the genin made more progress with each attempt. Prodigies just seemed to have a knack for intuitively figuring things out. While Den was a quick learner he felt it was because he had spent so much of his life studying chakra, while those who were prodigies had the same results through simply trying again and again.
As Dusk made the sword Den stood up, leaving the unfinished underneath the ground for now, “It seems you’re getting the hang of the technique. Let’s see how strong your new weapon is. Try and hit me with it, after that I want to see how you fair at creating constructs while under pressure, that’s something you’ll have to be able to do in order to use the technique effectively.” As Den said he wanted Dusk to cut him he’d roll up the sleeve of his robes on his right arm before extending it out so that Dusk could make a vertical swing at it.
If he seemed to hesitate Den would smile and reassure him, “Don’t worry about breaking my arm, honestly if you managed to I’d be impressed if anything. There’s a power in our blood that makes us more resilient than most shinobi, and I’ve progressed that ability beyond what most people in the clan are capable of. I really just want to see if your sword wont break when it hits me.”

The longer Dusk had looked at the sword he had made he came to the sudden realization that he did not know how to actually use a sword. He stared blankly at the blade before looking over towards Den to see what had been doing this whole time. Absentmindedly he began to grow accustomed to the new join affinity within his body, holding the wooden sword in his hand was a testament to that. When he had wondered what all he could do with the element itself, he didn't want to bother Den from what he had been doing so he decided to do more training with the current wood technique he had been practicing. Sitting down he began to quietly focus his chakra into the palms of his hands, slowly creating branches within the palms of his hands he began to feed them chakra slowly so that he could learn how to measure when he had wanted to stop them.
While doing this he had also tried to create a small circle of sharp branches along his back going down his spine, each a an inch in length and three inches in width. The test was to see if he could grow them from multiple spots without hesitating and losing focus. For a moment the ones in his left hand grew at a slower pace than his right while the ones on his back stayed the same. For some reason he couldn't push them out all at the same time without probably looking really weird.
In that instance he instead went for control over power, pushing them out until he had felt until they had been at a decent length before surging his chakra out in order to cut them from his body. Once the small branches fell from him, Dusk collected them and built a small house beside him before turning his attention to Den. It would seem that the male had wanted him to cut him with his sword, though looking at the sword and then back to himself....Was that a good idea? Taking the sword into his hand he hesitated for a moment until Den told him something not even he knew about himself. Still worried but comforted none the less, Dusk took a crack at his arm, surprised to that it didn't quite go through. Cutting with a sharpness of 53 did not break his skin, but then again Dusk wasn't that physically capable of cutting through people just yet...not like he would be able to do anything of the sort yet since he wanted to focus on learning his new techniques.

He stood there like a tree looking and smiling at the male as if he had been stuck in stasis for so long. For this he smiled and hugged his sensei calmly before letting him go and grabbing his plant seedling and walking off," Thank you Den-san for helping me learn more about my clana dn my bloodline. If I can come back and learn more please allow me to meet you here," with that he nodded and walked off or rather waddled off towards his home where he put his plant up and ranted to his parent about how much fun he had.

"I'll let the guards know you're welcome on the university grounds anytime." Den would say this as the boy waddled off. After he left Den decided rather than focus on practicing the Foo Dog Head technique he'd practice the wood dragon technique a bit longer. Fortunately the two were similiar enough in function that he believed the short amount of practice he'd already done with the technique would help him withhis understanding of wood dragon.
Returning to his seated position near the wooden statues he had created, he'd begin channeling his chakra into one of them, trying to transform it into a wooden dragon.
