Burning Hot! (Rae Homare Fire-Style Training)

Rae groaned as she was greeted by a couple of rays of sunshine. She hated waking up in the morning when she was on a free schedule. As she had just graduated from the academy a couple of days ago she really wanted to rest but the part of her that burned for strength and new knowledge was strongly against the idea. Running a hand through her long red mane, the female stood up from the bed and walked over to the bathroom of her small apartment. It only had two rooms a bathroom and a living room which was also where she slept and ate. Being disowned didn't leave her with a lot of money to spend, the fact that she worked a morning job barely covered her rent. It'd be a lie to say that Rae was living easy. She hoped that the ninja life would  pay more. As today was a Friday, which the red-head didn't have a shift on, she decided to train and grow as a kunoichi. After a nice warm shower and a quick breakfast consisting of muesli, the Redhead dressed herself and headed out of the door towards the training grounds. She stopped by a random bookstore on her way there and bough a book on Fire-Style Ninjutsu's called "Burning Hot." Rae payed the cashier and was quickly back on her way, book in hand. She wanted to train two jutsu's: The Great Fire Ball and the Phoenix Fire Jutsu. 

What should I start with... The fiery female wondered to herself as she exchanged greetings and smiles with the villagers. In her opinion the Great Fireball was probably going to be easier to learn so she decided to begin with the Phoenix Fire technique. As she arrived at the training grounds she sat down on the ground and opened the newly bough book in order to read up on the specific technique. The Phoenix fire jutsu was one which allowed her to spit out up to six fireballs which explode with a small radius whenever they hit something. The fireballs could curve their movement by only a 90 degree curve but could also be used to conceal shuriken. It seemed like an extremely useful technique to know to Rae due to its different uses. That and it was her in her chakra nature to use. 

Standing up from her spot, the red-haired kunoichi walked over to the center of the training ground and tried to find a target to aim at. To her extreme satisfaction she found a pile of stones tall enough for her to use as aim practice. Of course first of all she needed to see to what level of ability she would be able to produce fireballs, six of them nonetheless. The way in which she had to form her chakra definitely had to be different from her Fire Stream Jutsu. Fire Stream was one long spit of flames, Phoenix Fire was probably going to be several smaller spits of flame. Now what were the hand signs again? Rat → Tiger → Dog → Ox → Rabbit → Tiger? She looked back into the book just to make sure that she remembered right. Of course she was right, she was brilliant.

Rae's hands flew into position and practiced the hand-signs several times just to make sure she felt comfortable with the combination. Once it was okay in her eyes she immediately focused the chakra in her body as she decided that she would try the jutsu for real this time.   Rat → Tiger → Dog → Ox → Rabbit → Tiger "Fire Style: Phoenix Fire Jutsu" The red-head chanted causing two decently large balls of fire to escape her lips. The balls didn't fly far enough to reach the rock tower either.  Only two huh? She though to herself as she looked at the two black spots on the ground where her fire balls had fallen. For a first attempt it was definitely not brilliant but she was happy that she could at least get a decent enough shape to actually form a ball. She had three things that she needed to focus on for the basics- the flying of the balls, the amount of them and her aim. After thinking about it first she decided that she wanted to fix the flying first so she repeated the jutsu again. This time however she decided to put two fingers in front of her lips in attempt to control the flow of fire out of her lips better. This time the balls of fire did indeed fly higher but still not far enough to reach the target. The range for the phoenix fire jutsu was 30 meters and she was only capable of making it go as far as half the distance. She clicked her tongue and tried again. It would obviously take some time for her to get it to reach up to maximum distance. She felt like she was lacking something important in this area. Rae tried the jutsu a couple of more times with no progress on the distance what-so-ever. It made her cringe.

Stepping back she plopped herself onto the grass and looked up at the sky. This was not a piece of cake. Her stomach grumbled at the though of cake. She looked up and noted that the sun was almost at the middle at the sky. It was probably around 11:30 or 12 which said that she'd been out  studying for around an hour and a half. She decided to get a lunch break at around one so she stood back up and dusted herself off. "Fire Style: Phoenix Fire Jutsu." She repeated yet again this time however she twisted her head back in order to give her fireballs a boost in distance. Thankfully it actually worked. There was at least five more meters gained by the small trick that she had just figured out.  A small smirk ran over Rae's lips. It was obviously going to take a lot more work to get the fireballs up to their max distance. After several more attempts the female heard her stomach make another dying whale sound. She was starving. With a small smile the Homare girl headed into town to get some lunch. 

Ramen. Sizzling hot spicy pork ramen. Rae could barely hold back her excitement as the hot bowl was placed in front of her. Most people would get their tongues burned if they ate it this fast, but not her. The Queen of Flames had no intention to wait, she had no patience. If she wanted something, she would get it as fast as possible. Thankfully the people behind the ramen stand had recognized her and had thus quickly made her order. Quite a lot of people in Suna happened to know who she was. Maybe it was because she pranked them as a child, that or because her beauty was spoken for around the village all the time? It didn't matter. All that mattered at this moment was that she wanted more ramen.

The pile of rocks stood as it had been left- untouched by any attacks. The sun still shone high onto the blue skies of Suna as Rae returned to the training grounds and took her spot away from her target. She had decided that she would focus on the creation of more balls of fire for the duration of the next couple of hours of the afternoon. She assumed that if she wanted to create more of them she would probably have to put more effort into gathering more chakra inside her body: Chakra Control. It had never really been all that big of an issue for her before but now it was showing. The redhead cursed under her breath before inhaling and exhaling. She closed her eyes and let herself feel the circulation of chakra around her body. She tried directing more of it towards her lips. After around a minute of standing still and collecting herself, she opened her eyes and did the hand signs from this morning. Rat → Tiger → Dog → Ox → Rabbit → Tiger Rae noted to herself that she felt a lot more comfortable with the combination now than this morning, she could almost say that she was used to it. "Fire Style: Phoenix Fire Jutsu" She chanted and easily caused the appearance of four decently sized fireballs. The creations breezed through the air and landed a couple of meters behind her longest distance so far. When she had created two previously they were larger in size and traveled a bit more. There had to be a balance. The maximum of balls was what? Six? So it said in the book. But the more she made the smaller they god and the harder they seemed to be to aim properly. The fiery female tried practicing again, deciding to try and reach the maximum amount before focusing on anything else. She made several attempts, managing to get up to five decently sized ones before she sat on the dry ground for some rest. 

She knew that she wasn't doing half bad she had managed to make five medium-sized balls of fire that went around 20 meters in distance. Rae was running out of chakra for the day. There was only so much more attempts that her body could handle before she was completely out of it for the day. In the end she decided to go back into distance training with a maximum of five for the rest of her energy. It was around 5pm when crimson-eyed queen of flames had finished her practice.Cold swear was dripping down her now bare neck. She had taken off her white coat somewhere a long the way, although she didn't really pay attention to that small detail. A warm wind blew over her as Rae realized that she was definitely out of chakra for the day. She could still walk but her face was probably seven shades paler than before. 

The kunoichi didn't eat all that much for dinner that night. All she truly wanted was a hot shower followed by her hopping into her warm fluffy bed. As she proceeded to do just that Red head ended up snuggling up to the pillow and whispering little words of encouragement to herself as she drifted off to a blissful sleep. Tomorrow the training continued.

Another day on the training field, another day of smelly sweat, little words of self encouragement and hard work. Yesterday Rae was barely capable of reaching 23 meters out of 30 for the Phoenix Fire Jutsu. She was also barely able to create five decent-sized fireballs yesterday. Today, at around noon she marked 4 hours from her training. She stepped back and took a look at her progress. A small smirk slipped onto her lips in between her gasps for breath. The red-head had managed to get as far as 27 meters this morning! Not only that but the size of her fireballs had significantly increased. She wanted to practice a bit more before she went for lunch break. The girl had always aimed high and this time she wanted to manage reaching maximum length for her jutsu. She would not be satisfied at the bare minimum. You are the fire. You are wild. She though to herself as she concentrated on her chakra flow. The hand signs were followed, her rosy lips opened and released five decently large balls of fire which wove through the air one after another effortlessly. Rae's breath hitched in her throat as her crimson hues widened. The pile of rocks that once stood thirty meters away from her was now bearing a small black mark, proof the the edge of one of her fireballs had managed to hit it. The relief that washed over the kunoichi was unbelievable.

Lunch was wonderful. She had eaten dumplings at some small stall on the side of the street before returning back to her training. She had given herself a little time to recover but she was so pumped at her earlier success that she was bursting with energy. This time she had decided on making her fireballs tilt in the direction that she wanted them to. She turned 45 degrees away from the pile of rocks and repeated the same jutsu that she had repeated many times over the past couple of days. To her surprise what was supposed to be the hardest concepts of the jutsu wasn't all that hard at all. Maybe that's why she enjoyed fire so much. Her compatibility with is was immaculate. Somewhere a long the afternoon practice the girl had managed to max the number of fireballs as well- she could now spit out six large fireballs at will and make them rotate up to 90 degrees towards her opponent at will. The range of her jutsu had also been maxed out at thirty and while she was definitely exhausted and out of chakra, Rae felt that this was an extremely productive two days. The girl could now perfectly perform the C-rank Fire style Jutsu and would soon focus on the other one. For now, however, she just wanted to go into hibernation.
