Chuunin Exam Part 2

Mission Link
Senshi awoke earlier than he had planned, but it was due to his excitement at being passed onto the next exam. He had known he had passed the first exam, even if just barely, but he had not been expecting a summons to begin the second exam for several more days. Earlier in the day he had been at the training grounds to better prepare himself for the mission and yet it was a decent surprise to find that it would be happening today. Well tonight to be more accurate. The scroll he had received had detailed exactly when and where he was supposed to meet his proctor. So he had quickly left the training grounds, despite not accomplishing everything that he had wanted to. He needed to be prepared for tonight and tiring himself out with training would have been a bad idea. As such he had cut the training short and returned to his home to prepare not only his gear, but also to rest his body for the mission that would start tonight. Once he had finished preparing his gear he had gone to sleep. Now that he was awake he quickly dressed placing all of his weapons in their assigned spots and throwing his long flowing black cloak over himself. He pulled the scroll he had received earlier out re reading it.
Genin Kobayashi Senshi –
Despite your lackluster performance in the last Exam, it has been approved and you shall be conducting the second Chuunin Exam Mission. It is a combat mission, in which you will be required to kill your enemies and show your true faith to Kumogakure No Sato. You will report to training ground 17 at twenty hundred tonight to meet with your Chuunin Proctor. There your mission will be explained to you. Do not fail in your tasks, lest you bring dishonor to the Proctors in apporoving you to move on.
Senshi frowned at the missive before placing it back on his desk and sneaking out his window. He wouldn’t fail. The Proctors had determined him good enough to pass al the missions up until this point. He had battled the Raikage himself in one of his preliminary missions. He would not allow himself to fail, and bring dishonor to his family, himself, or most importantly of all his village. He did not look forwards to being forced to kill again, especially after his talk with Akihana-sama. She had told him that kill was not required and yet here he was on the precipice of his second Chuunin Exam being told he would have to kill. Not to mention the memories of his C rank mission where they had to kill the guards of some temple robbers. Once Senshi had reapplied his locking seal to his window he set off towards the training grounds.
The city streets were fairly dead and Senshi looked around at the few people moving through the city looking around sketchily. Kumogakure had improved throughout his time as a Genin, but everyone still felt the need to watch out for themselves in the event a bad thing may happen. It didn’t take long for the fast moving Genin to arrive at the designated Training ground. As he landed in the training grounds he could see a rather large building, some of it crumbling. It vaguely reminded him of the building from his first Chuunin Exam Trial. Looking it over quietly he was surprised when four Chuunin walked out of the building, one of them motioning for him to approach. Senshi moved quickly running over to the chuunin and Saluting.
The lead Chuunin motioned for him to drop the salute, and as he began to speak Senshi moved to the position of attention standing as stiffly as he could for his superior officer. “Genin Kobayashi, we are only four of the proctors assigned to watch this mission. There are several more inside, plus surveillance devices so we can see everything that happens. We want you to understand just how carefully watched you will be.” The man paused eyeing the tall Genin before him, to ensure that the boy understood the gravity of what was going to be happening here. Senshi realizing this gave a very stiff nod before the man continued to speak. “Your mission will begin once you enter the building. Inside are several rooms, and a maze of sorts. Inside are also five prisoners, some of the strongest ones we currently have incarcerated.”
The man didn’t quite know why such strong prisoners had been selected for this Genin, but he presumed it was because they didn’t quite want him to pass. It was rather unusual for a Genin to face five such strong opponents, but he had his orders and he would obey them. “You are to kill these five prisoners. They are armed. They may kill you, if they succeed they will be granted a pardon by the Raikage himself, as an incentive to get them to fight harder. If we decide that you are worth saving however we may intervene via the explosive neck collars each Prisoner is armed with.” The man highly doubted that they would be given that order. He based this idea on the fact that the enimies this genin were facing were so strong. It was likely that he had barely passed his previous exams and rather than allowing a Genin like that to continue they were planning on killing him off to make a point to future Genin who wanted to try out the Chuunin Exams.
Senshi nodded again showing that he understood what he was being told. “Don’t plan on us saving you however Genin. It is a rare occurance when we do. You will not be allowed to leave the building once you have entered, no matter how long it takes you’ll be in there till either you or they are dead. Good luck Genin.” Senshi gave another curt nod and a salute as the four Chuunin turned as one to head back into the building. He stared at it for several seconds noting windows on higher floors. He decided that he wouldn’t enter through the normal door instead he walked up the buildings wall suppressing his chakra as he did so. If the inside was like a maze and he would need to find the five prisoners in there he didn’t want to be detected. He was quite used to using stealth to get things done and the way he had operated in his first Chuunin preliminary mission came back to him. He prepped himself to jump releasing a small pulse of chakra from half way up the building.
As soon as he did he moved quickly and as quietly as possible putting all the training he had done towards moving stealthily to land on the roof. He would not the positons of any chakra signatures he felt before creeping in through the rooftop door. He quickly noted how dark it was inside and the solid steel walls that were making it into a maze like structure. He began to move towards the closest chakra presence he had sensed near him. He was moving slowly and quietly his black cloak and dark hair blending him in with the walls. As he approached closer towards the signature he noted that their was a doorway down the hall. This must be one of the few rooms that were in the building that the Chuunin had mentioned. He also noted the amount of cameras that were around, clearly to ensure that everything that happened inside this building could easily be recorded for later viewing.
If he did manage to pass then it would allow these Chuunin to decide if he truly deserved it. Senshi didn’t think for a second that simply killing all five prisoners would result in a pass. No doubt it would also determine how he worked through it al. His hands moved down to his tantos sliding them quietly from their sheaths, he wanted to be as prepared as possible in the event he stumbled on one of his opponents. His primary goal was to kill them all before they even knew he was there. He knew he was quite stealthy and all of his reading and instructions had told him that when outnumbered dividing his enemies up and conquering them in smaller groups was the best tactic. His eyes narrowed as he crept forwards, he knew he was close to the first signature and he didn’t want to give himself away.

Senshi released a small pulse of chakra, it wouldn’t travel nearly as far as his usual chakra sensory pulses but he was not concerned with that. He was approaching the door and he didn’t want to give himself away to anyone. As such he wanted to check the door before continuing on. As he released the pulse he received back the largest chakra signature he had ever felt. He wondered if he had even needed to release the chakra pulse in the first place. He felt the over whelming power of the who ever was behind the door. Whomever they were, their chakra potency was rather frightening. Senshi felt his breathing pick up and his own heart rate increase. It was clear that he would need to go into the room, but since he knew that who ever was behind that door was incredibly strong chakra wise he needed to be more careful.
He cracked down on his chakra suppression moving along the wall looking for a weak spot. As he did so he was disappointed to find the walls were hardened steel, not something he could easily breakthrough without making a lot more noise than he was comfortable with. He was just coming to the decision that he would have to kick down the wooden door and come into the room through the most likely approach when his eyes looked up at the ceiling. It was not made of solid steel material like the walls, or even wood like the door. Instead the tiles looked to be made of some type of cardboard. Cocking an eyebrow the boy sheathed his tantos before he jumped tapping one of the tiles as he did so and using his chakra to stick to what looked like a metal beam that ran down the center of the ceiling.
As the tile moved up and backwards slightly from his light tap he gave a slight grin pushing it quietly to the side. He used pure physical strength to heft himself up into the small alcove that existed in the ceiling. As he waited for his eyes to adjust to the darkness he looked around seeing that the false ceiling had enough room for him to crouch and walk along the steel beam. He looked down calculating where he needed to move so that he could drop into the other room. He crawled along the false ceilings beam until he was sure he was over the room now instead of the hallway. He let loose another, even smaller pulse of chakra and kept moving along the steel beam until he was sure he was standing over the prisoners chakra.
He reached to his sides pulling out his two tanto’s as quietly as possible. Taking a deep breath he lept from the steel beam to jump on top of the cardboard ceiling tile. He crashed through it charging his chakra into his two tanto’s before swinging both forwards towards what he now recognized as a woman below him. The Hadan: Rupture technique was something that he had learned not too long ago. His intent was to end this fight immediately. He didn’t want the woman to be able to call out for help from any of the prisoners, and he most definitely didn’t want to create a lot of noise. This technique was incredibly powerful, though not the most powerful move he knew. It would be incredibly enhanced by his own strength and the power of his blades.
He could only hope that she hadn’t sensed his own chakra when he had released the small pulses, or that she had not heard him moving through the ceiling. He had moved as quietly and stealthily as he could, and despite the amount of training he had done he wasn’t sure he was fully capable of sneaking up on someone so strong. As the chakra blade lept from his own blades he felt his own feet connecting with the ground. He immediately brought the blades up dashing the few feet that remained between the two. He couldn’t be sure that the attack would kill the woman and as such he needed to ensure that he finished the job. He brought his right tanto forwards in a vertical slash while his left tanto came across his body in a horizontal slash. The right tanto was aimed to go from the womans groin to her neck while the left tanto was aimed to go from her right boob to her left boob.
He wanted to cause the most damage that he could, and though she was slightly taller than him Senshi could tell that she had a lean build. She didn’t look to be nearly as strong as he was physically but then her build looked as though she could be incredibly fast. He knew that this meant that he had to move as fast as he could and ensure that she couldn’t escape to warn the others that he was in here trying to kill them already. Part of his mind noted where the broken ceiling tile now laid on the floor and he prepped his chakra to switch with the tiles in the even that she managed to survive his initial salvo of attacks. He would need to get some space so that he could attack again, and the best option was to switch with the ceiling tiles with his mastered substitution jutsu.

The body falls to the ground, dead. Your crashing does cause enough noise that you hear two different foot steps converging on your location. What do you do?

Re: Chuunin Exam Part 2

Senshi gave a pleased grin as he saw the sudden blood sprout from the female, his two slashes casuing even more blood to splash against the back walls. He knelt down giving another quick stab to the womans heart with one blade and slashing her throat with the other. He wanted to ensure that she was dead. Before he could check her body for any materials his ears perked at the sounds of foot steps. He ignored the blood now dripping from not only his blades but also the walls. The room looked as though several people had been slaughtered in here. He jumped up into the ceiling alcove again slinking down the steel beam that ran vertically and horizontally through the false ceiling. He immediately cracked down on his chakra with the chakra suppression.
He couldn’t afford to fight another person without knowing who it was. He moved through the false ceiling letting loose small chakra pulses as he moved to check and make sure he was far enough away. Once he was sure he had put enough space between himself and the chakra signatures he knelt down moving a ceiling tile slightly to check the where he was exactly. He could see down into the hallway and as he poked his head slightly more out he could see that he had moved around a corner and the door to the room he had been in was no longer in sight. He flipped himself around hanging from the beam, the tanto’s still in his hands.
He dropped to the floor quietly and began to creep forwards again, his ears peeled for any sign and his eyes watching cautiously. Once he reached the turn in the building he poked his head around slightly checking around the corner to see if any of his prey was nearby. He wanted to see how many there were and if more than one was there he would need to evaluate his next plan of attack. He hadn’t yet managed to master the summoning jutsu and as such he couldn’t call on anyone to assist him. His spar with Max had taught him a little about learning to fight multiple opponents but he didn’t want to risk it here. Not when his life was truly on the line and he needed to ensure he was good enough to pass. If he saw any person down the hall he came to the conclusion of what he would do.
His hands flashed through the hand seals at his best speed, Dog, Rat, snake, dragon, and finally ending on dog again. A chirping sound and light would light through the area and he with drew one of his Kunai and would throw it at whomever he saw. The blade crackling with electricity as he did so. The Raiton: Sift Cutting technique was rather dangerous especially at the level he was using it at. He would only attack if he saw someone down the hallway, if he did not see anyone he would release several pulses of chakra trying to see where his opponent was and move towards them stealthily in order to take them out.

A person rounds the corner a tall male, possibly 6 foot 5 inches, the weapon hits and punctures the man before a plum of white smoke envelops the area as the clone disperses.
"Found him."
Is what you hear as the rushed foot steps of the two figures now round the corner as well. you note the same male from before now rounding the corner looking at you but you do not see the other body that goes with the second pair of foot steps. What do you do?

Re: Chuunin Exam Part 2

Senshi frowned as the clone popped, he had really been counting on that being a kill shot for his plan. He had wanted to kill one of the two men then give the other just enough time to call out a warning for the final two remaining prisoners. While that happened he would finished off his third prisoner and then reenter the room that the first prisoner had been in. While in there he would have prepared the room by knocking all the ceiling tiles down and then waiting just out of sight of the door while releasing his chakra suppression. So then as the two new enemies attempted to enter the room he would be able to use the twin rising dragons technique on them. They would be in what was commonly referred to as the funnel of death. Unable to move easily, due to the enclosed space and easy picking for Senshi’s sniper fire like weapons attack.
It was too bad that this wasn’t going to work out like he had wanted it to. That would have been a relatively quick end to a rather tiresome exam. Still Senshi found that despite all the killing and his new found confusion on that topic that this was by far his favorite exam. The first preliminary exam had been his favorite before this because he had been able to truly be a ninja. But this was even better. It was incorporating the stealth and infiltration skills of the first prelim exam with actual combat. Senshi felt more alive than he had in a while. More like when he was on a true mission than ever before and he loved that feeling. He was doing the work of his country and these prisoners would not make it out alive. He would not be the reason that they received a pardon even if it meant committing a double suicide like attack in the end.
Dying to ensure his opponent was killed and that his village was still safe was the best option if he thought he would fail. These people didn’t need to know the innermost working of his thoughts like that however. They would merely get to see how he adapted to this new change in the plan he had originally laid out for himself. Senshi thought for a moment as he heard the footsteps approaching him quickly, he didn’t have long to make his change in plans but as he heard the footsteps he began to take several steps backwards. It would be best if there was just a little bit of room between him and the approaching prisoner so that he could move quickly to execute his attack. He placed his weight on his back leg and started releasing several pulses of chakra. He had come up with a new plan, to turn this new situation into his favor.
He waited for the prisoner to round the corner before he moved using the body flicker to speed up his legs and arms. His legs didn’t really need it as he was easily within tanto stabbing range of the man already. Senshi was relatively sure that his sudden increase in speed and power would result in the death of the extremely tall man before him. He was short enough that the man would have to bend down to make any truly devastating strikes at him. Senshi was going to use his height to his advantage to make this man spill his guts all over the floor. As such when he began the opening style of Cloud Style Deception beheading he aimed his right tanto for a solid diagonal slash at the man’s left hip up to his second rib. His left tanto came following up the right one as he drew it back into a defensive posture to block any counter attacks.
The left tanto was aimed for a solid stab, between the fourth and third rib in an upward angle in order to pierce directly into the heart. If he would succeed in his two attacks he would be quickly covered in blood from the man’s arteries spraying them onto him. Regardless if the attack would succeed he would instantly move several meters back, ensuring that he used the turn in the wall to guard him from any attacks from that man. He gave himself room in the hallway to move easily to either side or his chakra sensory pulses continued to be sent out at full strength. His adrenalin was coursing through his veins as he used his ears to listen carefully for any approaching sounds.
He almost hoped one would try and sneak up behind him so he could use another one of his Cloud Style sword techniques. His eyes darted around carefully inspecting the area in front of him, including the ceiling tiles above him. If he could use them to sneak up on someone else then they could be used to sneak up on him. Senshi was counting on the second prisoner he had sensed actually using the ceiling tiles as a method to sneak up on him. He was also hoping that whoever this third prisoner was would call out for the other two to bring them to him. His plan was rather reliant on this fact and if not then he would need to come up with another way to attract their attention. It was why he had stopped suppressing his chakra.
Despite the strength of his foes, he had come up with a plan to deal with them without needing to use all the stealth necessary. Taking out one opponent with stealth and calling the other two to him due to the crashing sound of her death throws had given him a rather good tactical plan to follow. It would put him in more danger than using stealth but sometimes a shinobi needed to put him or herself at risk in order to accomplish the mission. The risk versus reward scenario was one of the most basic things any shinobi wanting to learn tactics or strategy had to learn. Senshi had read about it long ago and using the matrix had determined that the level of risk was more than worth the rewards he would gain if his plans worked out. He was also counting on his ability to adapt to any scenario he was presented with. He was a rather versatile shinobi after all, with a good amount of stamina. With his quick mind and skills he should be able to figure this out and make the situation work for him.

"A weapon user too ay?!"
Is what you hear come from behind the male as two katana formed around the taller man. The first Katana had been held awkwardly using the pommel of the weapon to crash down on the boys right hand distributing the weight of the attack and offsetting it to the other prisoners side without causing damage. The other blade swing comes with a gust of wind from the strength at which it was swung inwards under the males side seeking to rip into your skin and force you back. From behind the tall male a woman only two inches smaller than you appears slender in frame. She stands in front of the male.
"I'll take this one, you know this area doesn't fit well with your style."

Well that was decidedly unfortunate, Senshi decided. He didn’t know how the woman had managed to hide her chakra signature so well even if she had been behind the man. He had been sending out a pulse of chakra every five seconds so he should have felt her approach with the man that he hadn’t was worrying. Not to mention that in this hallway using Bastuodosodo was not an option he could go for. It was entirely too cramped for him to make use of the large sword, maybe if he had been in a room like he had wanted to be he could have used the overly large blade, but not in a small corridor. He let loose a sigh as the woman spoke giving her only a slightly raised eyebrow in return.
His eyes ran over the length of her blades with a practiced eye. He really felt that he should have been warned that the prisoners would be armed with such good weapons. Even he didn’t make enough to afford katana’s of that quality easily. It seemed that maybe the proctors really did want him dead, or else they truly wanted to test him. Either way Senshi wouldn’t let a criminal like this kill him and be allowed back into the world. A pardon would bring more shame then his death could atone for and he wouldn’t put it past these criminals to attack Kumogakure or to create further havoc with more criminal deeds. He wouldn’t let that happen, especially since most missing nin or wander would attack trade caravans in order to increase their own money.
Frankly he didn’t think the Raikage or the proctors should have allowed these prisoners to have weapons. Despite the explosive collars they were, it was incredibly risky with prisoners at this level. Judging by the strength and speed she had parried both of his weapons he could easily surmise that she had to be at least as strong as he was and slightly faster to be able to knock both his tanto’s away. That fact was rather disheartening in itself. He knew he was strong and fast for a Genin but to have both of his attacks so easily handled was rather ridiculous. His eyes sharpened on her blades and arms watching the muscles in them in case she moved to initiate an attack. Senshi wasn’t sure what she meant about the man’s techniques not being suited for this area.
He didn’t carry a large blade like Senshi, and he was so large and strong that honestly Senshi was ready to believe that he was a taijutsu user. But taijutsu would be easy to use in these hallways. Dodging would not be easy. If he was a ninjutsu specialist then his attacks would probably greatly damage the walls and area but would be highly effective since it would be hard for the Genin to dodge or go anywhere but up. He knew that the turn in the hallway was around ten meters behind him. He needed to evaluate his options, fighting two opponents of this skill at once would be highly risky but would he have enough time to get away and hide? He honestly wasn’t sure but he built a plan in the back of his mind in case he needed to do so.
The bend in the hallway and the false ceiling would allow him to get out of sight quickly if he was fast and careful enough. He had trained extensively enough in stealth and chakra suppression to feel decently confident in his abilities, but still it would be better to attempt his first plan before enacting his escape plan. It was there if he needed it and that would just have to do. Shinobi didn’t progress and gain skill without at least risking somethings and this was the time that Senshi needed to learn that. Putting himself at risk when he would rather not would likely teach him a great deal. Hopefully he would be alive at the end of this to learn from it. He tightened his hands around the blade keeping his eyes on both opponents.
His mind had worked through everything fast enough that by the time he had completed his thoughts his hands and blades were still ringing with the power behind her parry. Less than a full second had passed after all. He decided to go with plan b, but altered slightly. His right hand came forwards wind chakra already flowing down his arm and into the blade. The blades design was made to enhance not only his wind chakra but also sound based techniques as well. Due to this the decapitating air waves technique would be a good initial attack to further test this woman, but also it would be likely to hurt the male as well since it was a rather large area attack. As he was swinging his blade forwards he took several steps backwards to at least begin to bring himself closer to the bend in the hallway.
As his right tanto came forwards sending the blast of sound based air forwards his left was moving forwards as well, however it wasn’t the tanto that was the danger here. In his hand was both his tanto and a wind arrow that he had created. The arrow ran along the length of the blade as he had used the blades properties to create a stronger arrow than normal. He changed his chakra so that the blade stuck to his hand and as his hand came swinging forwards he released the wind arrow the tanto sticking to his hand with the chakra he was channeling through it, an odd way for him to use the tree climbing technique and yet in his brain at least slightly ingenious. He cut the chakra holding the blade to his skin off as soon as his hand had reclosed around the blade.
By this point he had managed to backpedal half the way to the bend in the wall and he brought his blades up squaring up with the woman prepared for her counter attack. His hands were bent slightly at the elbow the hilts of the tanto almost touching. He was prepared to make a quick seal to use the body flicker technique in order to run away if need be. He didn’t know what she was capable of but he knew that if she unleashed a wide enough area technique that he would be able to make it around the bend and avoid it in time. Even if she was fast the boost he gained from a wide area move should be enough to get him away from it in time. OR so he hoped.

You note that as you draw chakra from your body it is quickly siphoned from your blades and the wind chakra from your arrow disperses. A smile appears on the womans face as she closes distance with you. You now know why you couldn't sense anything coming towards you. You can assume this area blocks chakra from being expelled.
The range you had hoped to gain might come to bite you as she lunges forward with one katana in an attempt to impale you through the stomach. You see the second katana has been replaced in it's scabbard. The male prisoner stalks behind the woman attempting to get past you both if the chance is given to reach the hall and connecting rooms opposite of you. What do you do?
