Jace v Ita[p]

Waiting to get on with the second part of the exams, Jace had sent his summon, Ro, to send a letter to his friend Ita. He knew Ita was also here in Sunagakure for the Jounin Exams same as him. In fact, Ita and Jace were in the same group this round so they would end up fighting each other anyway. He figured he would invite the other Uchiha here today to see how things might play out during their fight. It had been some time since he last went up against the boy and he wanted to make sure he was up to the challenge. After all he didn't come this far just to lose now. 

He sat on a medium sized boulder waiting for his friend to show up. The hot desert sun was beating down on him, something he still hadn't become accustomed to yet. It would really drain his stamina during his bouts if he left it unchecked. It presented more of a challenge for him and that was just fine. His goal was to become stronger so that he could protect the Leaf. Not only that, but he wanted to really work on becoming a good leader and teacher for Konoha's future shinobi that would take his place. His thoughts wandered as the warm air drifted past his face, flecks of sand getting trapped in his blonde hair. Hopefully Ita would show up soon.

Ita was sitting against one of the few trees in the area under the shade trying to stay cool. The climate of Suna was a lot different from that of Konoha. It was going to take some getting used to. While enjoying the day, Ita could hear a familiar ‘caw’ sound in the distance. Looking towards the sky, Ita squinted as he attempted to make out the black bird that was beginning to make its decent towards the young shinobi. The black crow turned out to be bearing a message.

The bird dropped the piece of paper onto Ita’s lap and with flap of its wings, the black returned to the open sky. Ita snatched the piece of paper and opened it. It turns out that the letter was from his friend Jace. Jace happened to be in Suna as well for the exams. Ita was also aware that they were in the same group for the current event and eventually they would need to fight. Jace was requesting Ita’s presence at the training grounds. It had been some time since the two have met. This would give Ita a chance to gauge the young Uchiha and see what kind of progress he had made in his absence.

 

Without wasting anymore time, Ita picked himself up off the ground and brushed himself off. Ita’s hands patted down his clothing freeing himself of any sand. Ita was wearing black pants along with a long black shirt over. Draped around him was a gray cloak. Attached to his belt were two ninja weapon pouches along with his leaf headband. Now that ITa was standing he made his way towards the training grounds to reacquaint himself with a familiar face.

 

Once at the training grounds Ita body flickered into sight of his friend Jace who was currently sitting atop of a medium sized bolder. Ita had positioned himself roughly 5 meters away from the bolder in direct eye sight of the other boy. As soon as Ita materialized in his exact position he would lock eyes with the boy with blond hair.

“Long time no see, I hope I haven’t kept you waiting too long.”

Ita began as he studied any apparent changes in Jace’s appearance that would be a sign of growth or change from the last time the two had come into contact.

“It seems to be we have been paired up in the same group for this next part of the exams. I’m looking forward to our match together.” Ita proclaimed as he took a deep breath, the sun catching the boys deep dark eyes causing them to sparkle. “This looks like a perfect time for us to become reacquainted before the exams.” Ita smiled getting ready for their impending spar.

“It’s said that the only way for shinobi to truly understand each other is through combat. I’ve changed since we’ve last met. Can you read me Jace?” Ita placed his left foot forward, assuming a battle stance with his left hand forward in a ‘come here motion’. “Ready when you are.” Ita’s eyes now crimson read, his 3 time sharingan activated waiting for his friend to make the first move. By exchanging blows, the two friends would soon find out how they really felt.

The flapping of wings and an audible 'caw' signified Ro's return from delivering Jace's message. The boy hadn't asked her to wait for a response and she wasn't one to do so anyway. Not that it mattered. Jace was certain Ita would accept his invitation and now that Ro was back he knew his friend would soon follow. "Thanks, Ro." he said with a smile. His body shuddered with anticipation of this spar. He had a lot he wanted to practice here on top of testing himself against what he could only say was his one true rival in the Leaf. "He should be here soon." 

"I stuck around long enough to see his reaction. It seemed to me he was just as excited to see you as you are." the crow said in an amused tone. She was always with Jace lately. The two had really become quite good friends and, though she would never admit it, Jace could tell that Ro really enjoyed being around him and out of the Forest. 

He sensed the boy coming long before he saw him. Actually, he hadn't seen Ita arrive at all. He simply appeared before Jace out of nowhere. That was some intense speed. "Yo." the blonde Uchiha said in greeting as he slid off the boulder that was his seat and stood to face his friend. It was obvious the boy was trying to make direct eye contact; being an Uchiha, Jace knew better than to allow that so he made sure not to allow the two to lock eyes. "Na, not long at all. It's good to see you!" The words came out with all the enthusiasm he had been feeling as he thought about the upcoming fights in the exams and this chance to see how much the two had grown. 

Ita certainly didn't waste any time getting into his stance; even without Jace saying anything it was obvious he had asked the boy here to spar. Why else did shinobi meet in the village training grounds? "I guess we will have to find out." he answered. 

The blonde almost completely mirrored his friend's movements, sliding his left foot forward and pulling a kunai out of one of his weapons pouches with his left hand and raising it in front of him in a reverse grip. At the same time his right hand slid back and reached into the other weapons pouch to grab two shuriken. Ita had already activated his sharingan; the boy probably relied on his eyes too much and not enough on his mind. Good tactics were what won battles, not simply having an ability such as the Uchiha clan's doujutsu. Jace would wait to activate his own eyes until he needed them. "Alright. Let's do this!" 

In one swift motion Jace first threw one shuriken aimed directly at the center of Ita's face in his clear line of sight and the second shuriken was launched simultaneously along the same flight path so that it would be hard to notice behind the first(110 speed). Then, without skipping a beat, Jace began to dash forward(50 speed) trailing the ninja weapons he had let fly through the air. His eyes scanned his opponent carefully waiting for any sign of the boy's response. Meanwhile the kunai he had pulled out earlier was held at the ready in Jace's left hand.

Ita watched Jace as he secured his first kunai, as he did so did Ita, with his right hand sliding into his back-ninja pouch in unison with Jace, both retrieving the kunai at the same time. Ita’s keen eyes watched as the first shuriken left Jaces right hand and fly towards him. Immediately as the shuriken was thrown, the flight path of the shuriken became apparent due to Ita’s sharingan. Ita would immediately take a step to his left, two feet to the left out of the flight path of the first shuriken and sequentially the second. As the shuriken passed by Ita’s person, Ita would release his own Kunai towards his friend Jace who was now gaining speed towards him. As the kunai cut through the air towards Jace, a tag would begin to unravel, revealing an explosion tag. The tag would present itself fully only when it was half way towards its target. Ita’s plan was obviously not to blow his comrade to pieces, but to force him to act quickly in a moment that required split decision thinking. Once the kunai reached within 1 meter of Jace, Ita would ignite his chakra stored within the tag and cause an explosion which traveled at 50 speed with a power of 50 and range of 1 meter.

 

As soon as Ita ignited the explosion he jumped backwards while remaining facing towards the explosion, putting 10 meters between himself and the explosion. As he did so, Ita formed three hand seals at the speed of 110. Rat-Dog-Ox. Ita watched the explosion carefully to see how Jace would react.  Because the explosion wasn’t large, the amount of smoke it created wouldn’t be enough to completely mask Jace’s movements. This gave Ita the opportunity for a follow up attack, if Jace was able to evade the explosion that is. If Jace would emerge from the explosion, a stream of water would release from Ita’s right hand in the form of a whip flying towards his opponent at the speed and power of 40 in hopes of grabbing onto one of his limbs, or coiling the water whip around his opponent thus binding his arms or legs.  

 

It had been so long since the two had exchanged blows that Ita couldn’t help but feel excited. This wasn’t just a simple spar. It was more than that. It was two comrades letting each other know how they truly felt. Ita just hoped that Jace would understand.

Jace watched as his friend played right into his hands. Ita had seen through the shadow shuriken technique easily, which wasn't surprising since he was using the famous sharingan. As the two shuriken that Jace threw made their was past Ita who had sidestepped to be 2ft away from the thrown ninja tools, he let fly a kunai of his own directly at Jace. A smirk came across the young Uchiha's face as he picked up his speed(now 100). When the opposing kunai was roughly halfway between the two boys a paper tag began to unfurl. 

'An explosive tag, hm? Not bad. But not enough.' Jace thought to himself. In an instant he disappeared, only to be replaced by one of the two shuriken he had thrown earlier. That technique he had learned from Ita was being used against him. 

Now behind Ita and roughly two feet to his left, Jace snatched the remaining shuriken out of the air in front of him and threw it full force(110 speed) at the small of Ita's back. He maintained his momentum even with throwing the shuriken, curving around to stop at Ita's 4 o'clock. As he made his way to this position, Jace formed two hand seals as fast as he could(100 speed). Horse-Tiger. When the Tiger seal was finished, a large 2 meter diameter fireball(40 speed and power) made its way from Jace's mouth toward his opponent who was now standing less than 1 meter away.

ITa’s eye’s widened and his pupils dilated as he watched as Jace disappeared before his eyes. His friend was using his own technique that Ita had tought him against him. “Very good.” Ita thought to himself as his eyes widened, the young shinobi’s brain began working swiftly to put the pieces together. Ita spun around quickly to try and ascertain the situation and while doing so thrusted his hand into his back ninja weapon pouch as fast as he could (125 speed) and retrieved a shuriken of his own. Catching just a glimpse of his comrade, he would release his own shuriken towards the blur. With the help of Ita’s sharingan, Ita’s shuriken would collide in mid air with Jace’s shuriken and they both would ricochet into the sandy terrain.

Now Ita watched as Jace began to form one of the more famous Uchiha clan ninjtusu. The Great Fire ball. Ita’s eyes zoned in once more and fluently he would reciprocate his friends hand movements and produce the same technique. Horse – Tiger. Just as Ita produced the Tigre hand seal, a large fireball 2 meters in diameter would erupt from Ita’s mouth and towards Jace’s fireball. (power 40)

The two masses of fire would meet each other and cause the two shinobi to skid backwards 2 meters each putting 5 meters between the two of them once more. The two shinobi’s techniques seemed to be of equal caliber as neither of them could get the upper hand, ultimately searing the other into a burnt crisp.

 Just afterwards, Ita would perform three hand seals at the speed of 125. Boar – Dog – Bird. “Lets see how he’ll deal with this.” Ita thought to himself with his friend in mind on the other side of the blazing fire which was still struggling to gain control. The ground would tremble for just a moment beneath Jace’s feet before crumbling beneath his feet before crumbling downwards. The ground bellow him would begin to fall at the speed of 40 and two massive clamps would begin to rise on Jace’s left and right side from underneath him in an attempt to trap him in an iron prison. The clamps would both be 15 meters in length and 7.5 meters in width. If this attempt was successful, Jace would be sealed within the Iron Neko that ITa had summoned. Ita now took a jump back putting 5 extra meters between himself and the iron neko (10 meters away from the trap) so that he would survey the battlefield and determine if the fight was over or not.

Summoning: Iron Maiden

Ita had matched Jace move for move. Their shuriken clashed in midair before both Uchiha unleashed one of their clan's most famous jutsu: the Great Fireball technique. The large masses of flames collided in between the boys, the force of the impact causing them to slide backwards in the sand. With the fireballs still battling it out and slowly simmering into nothingness Ita had apparently taken the opportunity to make his move.

The ground beneath Jace's feet began to crumble as two metallic objects came up from underneath him in an attempt to cage the boy in. As soon as the first signs of metal showed through the ground Jace began his counter. As fast as his body would allow him, the blonde Uchiha bit his right thumb to cause a small amount of blood to appear and then performed the seal of confrontation.

A large crow appeared in a cloud of white smoke underneath Jace, a sand cloud had formed from the summon's sudden arrival. The crow spread her wings quickly and broke the metal neko cage before it could finish closing, the crow rising straight up into the air and out of the sand cloud that had formed. A loud 'caw' came from the creature's beak as she continued to rise, quickly reaching 15 meters above the ground below. "Jace-sama are you alright? That cage looked dangerous."

The boy smiled at his friend's concern for him. The crow had developed a motherly affection for the boy. "I'm fine thanks to you, Shiora-san. It's just a fight between friends, but it looks like he's taking this pretty seriously so I thought I could use some help." the boy answered as they rose even higher, now stopping at 25 meters above the ground below. The entire time Jace would keep his sharingan trained on Ita for any sign of another attack.

Ita watched as Jace’s pet destroyed his cage with its powerful wings then take flight into the sky. Ita was unaware that Jace had any type of summoning like that in his arsenal. Ita then allowed for the neko cage summon to be released so that it wouldn’t continue to take up space on the battle field. Ita peered upwards towards the sky and specifically towards Jace who was now roughly 25 meters away.

 

“That’s cute” Ita thought to himself in reference to Jace’s summon and in reference to Ita’s lack of summons, something that Ita would need to address at a later time. Ita continued to stare at the boy without blinking. The sunlight catching Ita’s crimson eyes as he looked onward emotionless while thinking of a plan. It seemed that Ita was on the offensive. Without any further contemplation It a would reach into his back ninja weapon pouch and receive another kunai fastened with an explosion tag. With Jace watching the boy from above, It would most likely be clear to him what was about to occur, however would the boy be able to evade it?

 

Ita now gracefully and precisely released the kunai from his right hand in one fluent motion towards the boy and his pet bird in the sky. As the Kunai followed its directed path, Ita began to form several hand seals at his max speed. Ram – Rat – Bird – Boar – Tiger. Just as Ita finished the last hand seal, the Kunai which was now 15 meters from Jace, would begin to multiply into 500 copies of itself. All 500 kunai which were equipped with exploding tags would now be flying towards the blond boy. Once in range, Ita would ignite the exploding tag causing a chain reaction of explosions lighting the sky above up like the fourth of July. Ita watched carefully to see how Jace would manage to escape this ordeal.

When Jace reached his height of 25 meters, he saw Ita reach into his weapons pouch. Shiora continued to maintain her height, circling the younger Uchiha from above. Jace watched as Ita let fly a kunai, his sharingan tracking it's projected trajectory and allowing him to notice the explosive tag fastened to it. It would be easy for Shiora to avoid from where she was in the air. However the blonde's eyes picked up a surge in chakra from Ita as he began to form several seals. When the kunai was only 15 meters away from it's intended target it suddenly multiplied into 500 copies of itself. 

Thinking quickly, Jace performed a series of four hand seals as fast as his body would allow. Tiger-Boar-Ox-Snake. A surge of lightning chakra immediately enveloped the boy's body, which he extended through Shiora as well. The jutsu was activated just seconds before the first kunai would have come into contact with the large crow. "Don't worry Lady Shiora. Just continue flying as normal. Neither the kunai nor the explosions will effect us while I have Molecular Shift active." he said, a smug smile appearing on his face.

"Thank you, Jace-sama." was Shiora's soft reply.

All of the kunai passed through both Jace and his summon without any harm. The explosions that began to light up the Suna sky also had no effect on the pair. Due to his new jutsu, nothing would be able to reach the two since he had effectively sped up the molecules in their bodies to a point where everything would simply phase right through them without effecting them in any way. 

When the explosions finally finished and the smoke cleared, Ita would see Jace standing on Shiora's back with his arms folded. Jace was looking down on his friend with a smug smile on his face, the crimson of his sharingan seeming to glow bright as he did so. 'I bet he wasn't expecting that.' he thought to himself. Shiora continued to circle as Jace simply watched his opponent from above, waiting to see what else his friend would do.

Ita watched as his lone projectile bearing only a mere explosion tag multiplied into an army ready to ignite the skyline for miles to see. Motionless himself, the boy with black hair watched as his friend began to try to save his life, but it seemed to be too late. Just as bird boy completed the last hand seal his body was enveloped in flames. A massive explosion rippled through the sky above him (Ita) that could be seen and heard from miles away.

 

Ita’s eyes scattered around the aftermath above him frantically looking for a sign of his friend. “Did he really not make it out?” Ita paused a moment longer making note that there was no debris. Moments later the truth would reveal itself in the form of a ‘smug smile’ which had slightly irked Ita. Regardless of how over the top Ita had gone on that last attack, it didn’t make up for the fact that Jace had been able to evade it without even moving a muscle. Ita’s ‘bitterness’ subsided and he smirked at his friend. “He’s not so bad after all. Might even be as good as me. Though I’d never let him know it.” Ita thought to himself as he looked towards the sky, impressed at Jace’s new techniques. Ita had a lot of questions, but more importantly hoped that Jace would come down from there so he could get to learn a little more about this new technique of his.

 

The wind was beginning to pick up and Ita’s patience was beginning to wear thing. Ita’s list of super long ranged attacks was short if existent at all. Another thing Ita would need to solve. Ita sighed as he waited, hoping that Jace would retreat or at least make a move inside Ita’s range so that things could get interesting again.
