Road To Ame

With the pale meijin boy behind him the relatively new chuunin felt significantly more uneasy about the whole going to war thing. The pair was currently running down the small dirt road in the forest just outside of kumogakure, the sound of a babbling creek could be heard to the side of them if one listened closely, the water source ran all the way until it connected to a river a couple miles north that they could follow all the way to the village hidden in the rain. Komon’s byakugan would flicker on as he and the meijin continued to run, constantly checking for incoming chakra signatures, and he ensured that the two were running at a pace that would push sakana but one that he could also keep up with.

He’d turn his head to face the meijin to give him some information as to what they were doing today. “Sakana, me and you will be meeting up with a couple of squadrons to help set up outposts in the hidden rain, there's already a fight going on in the city, but they need more assistance. We will be helping with things like setting up war tents, collecting firewood, and helping move wounded until the rest of team purple shows up at a later date. Any questions?” He’d say as he continued to run.

Again Komon would place a hand into his pocket to make sure he still had the sand nessecary for his assimilate all creation technique.

They were making good time on there way to the rain, there was not much time for exploring. As much as he would have loved to stop and take in his surroundings he was on a mission. Since Sakana was behind Komon he could not see the expression on his face but the silence said enough. There was something that was making him uneasy but it was not the Meijin's place to say anything so he just shared in the quiet.

A little while later Komon finally broke the silence. He explained the details of the mission. Sakana was surprised to hear that there was already a battle going on at the village hidden in the rain. There was already wounded. This information made the Gennin have mixed feelings. He planned to go here believing in the process but while Sakana had basic medical training their team medic Hitori was not with them. Although it was not his place he had to voice his concern. 

"Komon, why did we not head out with the original team who went to the rain? We are the ninja, we are supposed to protect our people not let them get hurt or even killed. We should have went in the beginning and brought along Hitori. And Komori for that matter, if there is a big battle we need everyone here." Sakana voiced his concern, as they continued down the river towards the rain village.

Sakana’s questions were valid, and Komon would do his best to answer them, he wouldn’t turn his head to the boy however, with his byakugan giving him 360 degree vision he often forgot to do so. “The fact of the matter is that I am simply a chuunin, and you're a gennin, as much help as we think we may have been in an initial strike, there are countless more jounin better tasked for the situation, we are a second wave sent to help. And Komori and Hitori will be following close behind, Komori just had to wrap up a few things first, and I didn’t feel confident in my ability to cover two gennin at the same time in the event a fight broke out along the way.”
Hopefully that answered the meijin questions because it was all he had to say. His focus still on the road ahead he’d continue pushing forward towards the village hidden in the rain.

Sakana knew Komon answer the questions best he could, but they were not really good answers. Yeah, there were probably more qualified jounin to send in the first wave but they were extremely limited in numbers, and more people leads to less casualties. There was strength in numbers and dividing them up was not going help them only hurt. The fact that Komon did not want to bring along Hitori because he was a gennin was a problem as well. As he had just been thinking, there was strength in numbers, Sakana beloved he could handled himself and Hitori should be able to do the same. He knew the matter was finished and there was no use in arguing further so he keep the rest of his thoughts to himself.
