Gōka beats Hiyu (Nk, io, Akemi)

One night when the sun was down and all the lights were out, Nano decided something. Sleeping was for nubs. With that train of thought, Nano got up from his pile of rags he called a bed and got changed into his shinobi attire. What he called a shinobi attire was actually just a simple white shirt and brown jacket. How exciting. Dressed and ready for whatever it was he was going to do, Nano sprinted out of his little area in the woods and headed for a nearby clearing. Since he had nothing better to do, Nano decided to train. How normal, training his shinobi skills out in the woods in the dead of night.

After punching trees for a couple minutes because why not, Nano finally thought of something slightly less retarded. He could practice his new element! He had figured out how to use it but at this point it was practically useless because he hadn't trained any jutsu with it. At one point he was able to create balls of Scorch with it but for some strange reason he couldn't do it anymore. He thought it might have been because at first it was just beginners luck (or the fact that it was removed). Regardless of whether or not he could make the mini toned down sun, Nano really needed to practice. From what he had heard about advanced elements, they were meant to be more powerful than the average basic element as well as much rarer considering they only ran in certain families so he was determined to utilise that fact and become stronger to help the population of Hoshigakure.

Getting ready to train his Scorch element, Nano would then sit down on the grass of the clearing directly in the centre about 10 metres from the outline of the circle to begin meditating. Meditating supposedly assisted in focussing Chakra so he thought he may as well try it. While he didn't expect anyone to pop out at him, Nano would still have his Chakra sensory up and running while meditating, prepared for someone to become within his radius. Should he sense someone he would jump up and prepare to use some sort of fire jutsu to burn their arses, literally.

Sleeping sucks, seriously, who even sleeps anyway?

Was the phrase which the blue-haired Hiyu was currently repeating in his head, over and over again. Sleep deprivation tended to make Akemi slightly mad. Alas, in his slight madness he was currently training in the woods, stumbling and fumbling through the overgrowth due to the lack of any light.

That's when he heard it, the sound which would've inevitably been made by a strange human punching a tree. Punching a tree? Akemi found that quite strange. Akemi was not one to judge though, he had learned an a-rank through fighting imaginary opponents after all. A crimson tint replaced his usual pinkish complexion when he realized that someone had probably heard or seen him learning it.

What kind of person would be out this late? Punching a tree no less. Well, at least it was something to do, might as well see how this goes!

So, whether it was his sleepy stupor or his general curiousness, Akemi started the small trek to where the sound was originating from. The teen Hiyu was praying that whoever was making the noise, wasn't stupid enough to shoot fire at him or something. I mean seriously, That'd just be silly and unnecessary!

Eventually, after a few minutes of maneuvering and tripping through the overgrown wildlife reserve, Akemi stumbled upon a clearing. Stepping into the clearing, Akemi would see...

PS-Scorch Sucks, Cell Manipulation FTW

While focussing his Chakra and meditating, Nano felt a person approaching. Jumping up to meet the person, Nano would channel Chakra to his stomach to produce a fire technique. Holding the Chakra there, Nano would evaluate the threat. It was a boy about his age quite a bit shorter than him with strange yellow eyes and blue hair along with some strange scarf covering most of his face. Seeing as he basically had no fashion sense he was in no space to comment on their appearance (low key insults). Noticing a familiar headband equipped on the boy's face, Nano pushed the fire back down but kept up his guard. For all he knew this could be some sort of transformation or if it is actually a Hoshigakure shinobi, they could be crazy or something. Either way, Nano made sure to keep his distance of about 10 metres from the person. He would then wave his hand up in a lazy sort of way while still keeping up his guard and say, "The name's Nano. Nano Gōka. Whatcha doin around these woods at this time of night?" While waiting for the response, Nano would pull out a large piece of gum from his pocket which magically appeared and stick it in his mouth.

Chewing it for a few seconds while taking in the sweet strawberry flavour, Nano would then wait for it to soften. Once soft enough for his liking, Nano would then proceed to press the gum to his tongue using his teeth and would mould it around his tongue like a child would put a sheet over themselves on Halloween to dress as a ghost. Once done moulding it, Nano would then take in a deep breath and exhale into the pink gum covering his tongue. The resulting bubble would then grow to a massive diameter of 3 metres before Nano bites into it, popping it with a loud sound. After popping it, the leftover pink gum from the bubble would be creating a pink ring around his mouth. Pulling it into his mouth with his tongue and teeth and hand if necessary, Nano would then continue chewing the gum, draining the flavour from the lolly.

Kind of proud of the massive bubble he would have created before the boy could speak, Nano would keep making more and more bubbles, each one bigger than the next. He would only stop if he was required to speak. All of the time he spent chewing the gum, Nano would have also been multitasking in his head, trying to focus his Scorch Chakra. He wasn't planning on using it on the person in front of him because it was stupid to try an unfinished technique on a possible enemy but that wouldn't stop him from trying to accomplish what he came here for. He came here to train and that's exactly what he was going to do, whether or not it was a friend or a foe infront of him.

"The name's Nano. Nano Gōka. Whatcha doin around these woods at this time of night?" Asked the child in front of him.


Akemi was slightly confused, a child who was significantly younger than him was still up this late at night? Didn't he know it was dangerous? Though it seemed that the child was training some kind of technique, being a ninja sort of negated the need for age safety. While also being confused, Akemi was somewhat embarrassed that this child, who was quite a bit younger than Akemi, was significantly taller than him. Despite this, Akemi was quite thankful for his short height, it meant that he was difficult to spot in a crowd.


Akemi also noted that the young boy in front of him had his guard up, that was usually a good sign, a ninja slacking normally meant the difference between life and death. It was still slightly sad that everyone lived in a world where even children constantly have to keep their guard up. That reminded Akemi about the taijutsu block he had heard about, cycling through the motions for it in his head, Akemi would respond to Nano,


"M-m-my n-name is A-akemi Hiyu, it's n-nice to m-meet you..." Akemi would slowly trail off at the end, slightly baffled as the young boy, seemingly from nowhere, pulled out a piece of gum and started chewing it. Hidden beneath his scarf, Akemi's mouth would gape open when the boy blew a bubble to the massive size of 3m. Practically dousing Akemi's sight of the boy. Akemi suddenly realized he had forgotten to answer the boy's question.


 "O-h, umm, I-i c-c-couldn't sleep, so i'm j-j-just out for a m-midnight stroll," Akemi managed to stutter out. Seriously, his shyness needed to be dealt with, he was currently shy in the presence of a, what he presumed was a, 12-year-old. It would only serve to be a liability in combat, perhaps this could be a valuable process to deal with his shyness problem?


After answering the question, Akemi was unsure of what to do next, last time he had spoken to people, it had ended in a spar. Though Akemi did not feel like sparring with a child, especially this late at night. This was for two reasons.


One: If the child was accidentally hurt, Akemi would never be able forgive himself.


Two: If he lost to the child, it would be rather embarrassing.


Akemi would then walk past the child and sit down on a (Dry) log, a log which had several other logs surrounding it. With a small flourish, Akemi would then produce two heat-proof mugs out of nowhere. Mugs filled with tea! Akemi had developed a small obsession with tea you see, a result of drinking it like water on the mornings when his fatigue refused to cooperate and allow him to sleep.


"Do you drink tea?" Akemi asked, offering one of the silver heat-proof mugs to Nano. If Nano accepted, then Akemi would give Nano the tea and gesture in a friendly manner towards one of the logs surrounding him. Obviously meaning for the boy to sit down.




If Nano refused, then Akemi would, rather awkwardly, settle the mug down on the log next to him.




Regardless of whether Nano accepted, Akemi would then start to speak to Nano.


"So, errrrr, what brings you out here Nano?" He would ask, taking a huge sip of his tea afterwards, looking attentively at Nano for an answer.

Akemi inwardly cringed as the small boy in front of him - for whatever reason - decided to completely neglect answering Akemi's proposition about tea. Had he said something wrong? Had his complete inept social ability somehow rubbed the boy's anger the wrong way?

Akemi crept into a complete, mulling silence. Unsure of where to proceed. Why did social situations always go wrong for him? Perhaps he was more terrible at them than he thought. Well... Akemi already thought very lowly of himself and his skills. It probably wasn't even possible to thing less. Nonetheless, he needed to get out of this disastrous situation.

"Errrr. I need to go... Umm, cya. I guess?" After saying this, Akemi would quickly stand up from the log, pick up both of the mugs of tea, and quickly walk out of the clearing.

Once he was out, Akemi allowed himself to breath a sigh of relief, tension removing itself from his shoulders. Talking to people was a no-go. Much better to stay by himself. He continued to walk away from Nano for about 3 more minutes, mulling over potential solutions for training. He had noticed that he always grew stronger quicker when he was with other people, when he was by himself, it solidified his mistakes, made them harder to correct in the long run. Training with others allowed him to spot those mistakes, and correct them before they could fully settle into his system.

Once he was content that he was far enough from anyone to be seen or heard, Akemi settled into a professional looking stance. He looked straight ahead, blew out his mouth slowly, closed his eyes, and quickly jabbed with his right hand. Using his maximum speed and strength. He pulled back the jab immediately, using the backwards momentum from drawing his arm back, he spun counter-clockwise, and performed a high kick.

He settled back into stance, there was a technique he had recently learnt, a taijutsu technique called 'Taijutsu : Block". He had only learnt the basics, but he felt like there was more too it. More potential to block even more powerful techniques. A small smile grazed his face as he thought about blocking everything. Being unable to be defenceless again. Akemi had a hunch that it would somehow boost his social confidence.

Still in stance, Akemi imagined an opponent charging towards him. He then imagined the opponent forming a fist and push it towards Akemi's face. Acting purely on instinct, Akemi lifted his forearm towards the punch, absorbing the lack of impact to protect his weak body.

A flash of annoyance flashed across his face, it wasn't good enough. Anyone with a decent amount of strength would be able to push through it and completely obliterate him. Akemi's body wasn't flimsy per se, it was just not enough to protect against the vast magnitudes of strength that most shinobi possessed.

He tried again. Settled into stance, imagined an opponent punching him, blocked the punch with his forearm. It only felt marginally more effective than before. If Akemi wasn't as polite as he was, he would have no doubt cursed at his. But the only word of annoyance which left his lips was 'Buttons'.

He tried again. And again. Then again. His aptitude with the technique increasing slightly each time. Until, he felt like he had achieved a new level with it. He still felt like there was more ways to improve the technique. But right now, he was too tired to even continue.

As he began his short-trek back to his apartment. Akemi's mind was a whirl on all the different ways to improve the technique.
