You're only in trouble if you get caught (Pkyo NK)

Well this was quite the precarious situation. While heading off to the training grounds under extreme protest once more, convinced by the kindly old lady who ran the inn, she was stopped by a set of village guards who asked her "nicely" to follow. It was a long walk down the long roadways that led to the palace, and along the way she'd babbled appologies and explanations with the speed of a fourteen-year-old girl, but finally as the large structure was in sight she fell silent. It was brought to her attention that she'd broken a very important custom, namely that upon entrance to a ninja village it was polite(should be pronounced expected) to check in with the village leader to announce purpose and overall explain who they were. Once again she'd just barely missed the mark, and would now need to potentially talk her way out of it.

"Where am I...." She was stopped in front of a set of large doors that seemed to lead into an office... Or at least she thought it was an office. To be honest she had absolutely no clue where she was. What was important was that she had made the decision before going out to actually change to something a bit less fighty. She'd removed the small black cut off shorts that she usually wear to train, and traded out her grey tanktop for something a bit more formal. In it's place she'd worn a long flowing blue and silver dress that clung tightly to her form only to flare out just past her hips. The fabric was incredibly plush and made the perfect attire her her plans to walk the water gardens, taking the day to train in theory instead of practice. Her cloak was similar in look, long black and bearing the nara symbol across the center of her back but this one was clearly not meant for combat. The fabric looked to be almost velvet with deep dyed grey fur on the inside that the nara symbol was done in shimmering silver thread. It was rare for her to be able to actually dress up. In the past she feared wearing clothing that slowed her movement would potentially end in death, but slowly she'd gotten acustomed to the odd serenity of the village hidden in the stars.

As she waited for either someone to usher her inside or for whomever she was expected to speak to to show up and begin to reprimand her she clutched the nara symbol necklace tightly, rubbing her thumb across the black painted exterior. She wouldn't have noticed, but the position of her arm was such that the horible S shaped scar across her left arm was barely peeking out from beneath the warm cloak.

At the gates the Nara would be greeted by armed guards that would verify her purpose before being allowed within the walls of the palace.  The men had been instructed to let the person inside, as this meeting was called by Kyousuke to gather information on a new inhabitant of the city.

With Amber outside his office Kyousuke would say come in, loud enough that anyone beyond the door could hear. As the door opened the orange headed man wearing blue jeans and a black tank top would stand. His armor was placed on a mannequin within the room however, so that he need not wear it all the time.


“Hello, Mrs. Nara have a seat if you would like.” The giant would say indicating a chair before sitting back down at his large desk stacked high with papers. After that the man would merely wait for the girl to respond to what was said. The sooner small talk was out of the way the better and they could get into the meat and potatoes of the conversation.

She eyed the chair for several moments before finally coming to a decision. She was worried that she'd be in trouble, and more so that that trouble could cause her significant harm, but in the end being careful was not exactly something that she could afford to do. A sign of disrespect was less careful then taking a position that could leave her vulnerable. SHe called out to her chakra, drawing it into her solar point and pushing the powerful black energy downard to pool at her root, but didn't activate the power. This was a precaution, she thought to herself, A precaution she would not need. 

"Thank you for your time. I was um.... Summoned? Really it was more of a forceful escorting under the understanding that I'd failed to follow a very important protecall. For that I do appologize. "

“It is no problem Mrs. Nara. I just wanted you to come to learn of your intentions.” Kyousuke would say with a smile hopefully stressing the point that the lady was not in trouble. “With all the kumo ninja here, missing ninja getting cut down in the library, and rogue ninja robberies happening lately you can’t be too careful. Tea?” He would ask a fresh pot in a porcelain pot sitting on a plate on top of the desk along with two cups.

“If your intentions are to help us. Then awesome we could use the help, if they are neutral well then we won’t bother you.” He didn’t need to say anything about if her intentions were bad. Usually that was just a bad idea and no one would say it even if they were. “I’d also like to explain a little about the village. Maybe it will help you navigate throughout it.” If he could be of help to the lady he would like to.


If the Nara was okay with him explaining things he would tell her about the hostilities between the ninja and shinobi, nothing specific just don’t do this around civilians in blank area and the status of kumo ninja within the village. So, far he had not received many complaints about them which was good and the ones he did receive were minor at best. Nonetheless, he would let the girl know that she could be dealing with ninja of other cultures. Maybe she was already informed in which that part would not be necessary.

She refused the tea almost on reflex, raising her hand at the offer in the most polite way possible. THe action hadn't even registered as she responded out of habit, ensuring her own protection by dodging possible poisons and other nasty effects. Before the action, and it's potential consequences were able to hit her she'd caught what he said, and her eyes grew wide. "W.... Um. Roberies? Missing ninja?" She was thankful for the higher ranked shinobi at this point. She, and assumably the rest of the village who weren't of strength to know, had been spared the details of situations that could cause significant damage to them.

Shaking the surprise, and assuming that they didnt converse strictly about the situations she'd inquired suprisedly, she would nod at the next statement. "At the very least im here to be neutral. My focus is learning the ninja arts. I've spent a long span of my life running from the gifts of my clan and living as a civilian but the horrors of the past have forced me to take action. If there's any way I can help with village functions I'll gladly do so however. My goal is to make the world a safer place once I train this body to be strong enough to do it. " Her wording was wierd. At least it would possibly sound wierd to an outsider. SHe knew that this wasn't her true form, and more so that the strength she held within far outstretched the reach of her current situation, however having knowledge of power and having practiced strength were two very different animals.

"Please do. I've learned a little from the village through interactions, heresay, and the kind older lady who runs the keep along the outer circle but knowing more about what makes this village tick would be invaluable in allowing me to seem more like I fit in. "

Pouring himself a cup, the man would sip before continuing about what the Nara seemed surprised about. “Our ninja have been doing their jobs defending against rogues recently. It seems the hidden Haven village is not as hidden as it used to be.” He would add drinking some more and setting down the cup.

 “Huh.” The giant would say as a remark to himself. “Running away from one’s own abilities, I used to do that as well. I learned that facing it is the best method otherwise its easy to lose control.” Looking at the girl he would tap his fingers across the desk for a few seconds in silence. “I wish for something like what you want, but my focus as deputy kage is this village.” He approved of the Nara’s motivations, so he didn’t mind her staying in the least. If those were her true intentions of course.

With motives of peace Kyousuke felt like recruiting the lady into his ranks. Of course, he would let her act as she pleased, but if called arrive like any ninja. They could discuss that later however. Right now she had inquiries into the village that could be answered.

“Hoshi is a village hidden within a city. The city itself used to be so violent towards those with chakra, that they were killed on site. Like my…” He wouldn’t say the next words otherwise the focus of the information sharing would shift. “But then some ninja like Den and Akihana among others started a revolution. Those that ran rampant were stopped and Hoshi became a ninja village. The people still fear the use of chakra claiming it a product of the devil. Not all believe that though, some see us as miracle workers, and others as defenders. Either way it is best not to run around using chakra in the streets unless necessary.” With that bit of backstory Kyousuke would stand and move to a paper map of the village hung on the wall. Pointing to a spot on the map he would show her the training grounds. “Feel free to practice here anytime you’d like. Citizens avoid it, so you don’t have to hold back there.”


If Amber had other questions she would need to ask. The man would answer if capable.

"You can count on my blade to protect the integrity of the village as if it were my own. Of that you can be sure. " Her eyes wavered as she said the word blade, her thoughts shifting for a moment away from the topic at hand to the missing soul blade that had always been her greatest comfort. So much time had passed that she almost felt complacent. She wondered if this body would understand the subtly required to wield the unruly domia, and a small piece of her almost wished the blade would stay lost. That small part of her was easily silenced. She needed the scythe of sorrow, just as it needed her. It was through the avatar of the weapon that she'd become the person she was today, and without it it was far too easy to slip back into old habits.

She stayed zoned out for the bulk of Kyousuke's explanation of the village history, though her gaze met his intensely when he suggested the loss of a loved one in the war to bring ninja into the village. Even without the scythe in her possession the call of sorrow that linked the two could be felt. THankfully she had already heard from some of the locals that there were specific places in which she would need to practice her ninja arts.

"You know... In many of the old texts the devil was once the omniscient diety's favorite servant. " SHe purposely dodged the words god and angel. The terms were highly subjective, and having been considered a goddess herself on certain planes, it felt silly to give the power of that particular name to one she couldn't quantify the presence of. "I understand. I will follow your rules, and if there are any missions or otherwise you'd like my assistance on, I'd gladly follow the team sent. I will not allow what happened to Yuki to happen ever agian."

SHe left the statement clinging in the air, full of remorse, but more so full of suggestion. To any who might have known it would be all too apparent that she'd had more then just dealings with the village. Her eyes reflected both purpose and pain at the thought. For a fraction of a second she was an open book who's pages threatened to snap shut in an instant.

"Are there any particular resources that are off limits? I assume that training with any who seek to extend our power would be acceptable as long as its within the designated areas, and I noticed there's a library. I wouldn't dare suggest that I gain access to those areas restricted to only the ninja of the village for your own protection, and as such I find it important to ensure that I dont go over the line. Also, I'm looking for those in control of the Water element, and a place where I'd be able to train more large scale Suiton. I fear some of the jutsu I'm working on may do irrepairable damage to the training and water gardens area simply due to the remarkably high volume and volatile nature of the element summoned. "

"I do appreciate it. If there is nothing else to discuss, I will take my leave. There is far too much to do and train. Please feel free to send for me if you need anything. I'll be at the inn on the outer district." With that, unless he had something else he needed to speak about, she'd stand, sliding the chair gently back into place, and exit quickly. It was nice having met with one of the higher ups in the village, and to gain the validation of her purpose she needed.

“Yes, that is all I wished to talk about today. Have a good day and please enjoy your stay here in Hoshi.” Kyousuke would say standing to open the door for the lady as she made her exit. After she exited the room the kage would exit as well locking the door to his office behind him. He would place on his kage hat and walk about the building until his assistant stopped him in the halls.

” Lord hogokage you have three more meetings today with some of the noble families of Hoshi who wish to speak with you.” All Kyousuke could do was yawn at the prospect all they usually talked about was how they were glad that somebody not so skilled in devil magic had taken the role of kage bringing Hoshi back to its former “glorious” roots whatever that meant. Unfortunately, he wasn’t really supposed to speak on his own feelings about what Hoshi used to be, so he had to smile and non-continuously like a bobble-head. If only he could get a life-sized bobble-head of himself built to take his place.

Something to take my place… He would think before making a lightning clone of himself. “Clone me is going to a meeting while I hit up the bar.” He would tell the lady as he continued to walk along. “Just make sure it doesn’t explode otherwise there could be a problem.” The lady’s eyes grew wide at the prospect of that danger. ”I’ll find someone to guard the room for you.”

“Good, good. Clone me go with Tatsu and be well us at the meeting. I’ll be about a half-mile from here and no further.” The kage would then exit the palace nodding to the guards on his way out who had been making jokes about him prior to seeing him coming. Everyone makes fun of their boss. He would think as he crossed the duo who were now stone faced and silent.

Now out of the palace Kyousuke opened the fifth gate and headed straight for the bar. At this point people were starting to figure out who the red runner was especially with the hat on his head. At the minimum he was training his body to withstand the after effects of opening the gates, but on the other hand people were starting to know he really must like to drink to run that fast.

Stopping in front of the bar Kyousuke took a single deep breath and closed off his mind to the eight inner gates. Taking time in closing the gates aided the body in returning to its usual state as opposed from going to overdrive to zero. It is like when in a car going from seventy to zero typically results in brain trauma opposed to going from seventy to sixty and so on. The inner gates followed a similar principal.


With steam coming off his body the giant would open the doors to the bar and step inside. The room fell silent for a moment, but the talk and laughter continued. Kyousuke was a regular since before he was the kage these people knew him since his days as a jounin. It was one of the few places the man could go without feeling his burden. It was like a third home to him, someplace he felt entirely comfortable with the atmosphere and company. “I’ll have a double of whiskey.” He would say as the bartender placed the drink on the counter before the key in whiskey was said as if he knew what the man would order. I guess I have to change up my drinking patterns.”
