Final trial take 2

As Renji tried to push off from Komon and create some separation using his palm bottom technique, he would quickly realize that Komon was not about to make this easy for Renji. Komon’s grip on Renji’s leg was just as tight as ever. a bit of pain would surge through his leg originating from the spot where Komon had used his Tengetsu needle earlier in the fight. “damn it.” Would be all Renji could muster up as a scowled look would cross his face.

Standing there jumping about on his one free leg, Renji would give a few more pulls at his trapped leg; in an attempt to free it from Komon’s clutches, but they would all be to no avail.  Judging by the look on Komon’s face, he was starting to get serious, and rightfully so, Renji had landed two hits on the veteran shinobi, and caused some damage. And Komon probably wanted pay back for the elbow that Renji had just fractured.  “man, how are you still going as if we just started, don’t..you..get tired big bro” Renji would mumble under his gasps for air, though Komon would probably be to focused on the fight to hear or respond to Renji.

The fight had been going on for a few minutes now;. Though it seemed like a month at this point. Renji was more exhausted at this point than he had ever been in his life. He would be breathing rather heavily through his mouth as he tries to catch his breath. He had never fought against someone of Komon’s level, and had to use a lot of his stamina/chakra reserves in order just to keep up with the veteran shinobi.  Judging by the way the fight was going, Renji knew that if he wanted to win the fight he would have to do it soon otherwise he would probably collapse from exhaustion.  

Just as Renji was planning out his next course of action, he would see through his byakuganed eyes as Komon, who was still on one knee, would tuck Renji’s leg under his arm and tightly against the veterans side; the same side that Renji had previously used his palm bottom on. Assuming that the area may still be ginger to the touch, Renji would try to kick at Komons’s  in order to get Komon to release his grip on Renji’s leg. But Komon would do a good job at pressing down tightly on the leg, giving Renji little room to move his leg, certainly not enough to allow Renji to hit Komon in the side again from this angle.

Renji would still be jumping around on his one free leg when all of a sudden, he would see Komon begin to do what looks like a barrel roll. Luckily for Renji he had damaged Komon’s leg and opposite are; this would cause Komons barrel roll to be a bit telegraphed; at least enough for Renji to see what it was that Komon was trying to do (reaction time of 155).

As Komon, is doing his barrel roll, but before he could apply enough pressure to injure Renji’s  leg to detrimental, Renji, who had been bouncing on his free leg this whole time, would take one final bounce on his leg, before shooting his leg aggressively straight upwards into the air at a speed of 155. The kick would not be intended to cause any damage, but to crate a wind vortex, around Komon.  If the kick was successful, and Komon did nothing to stop it or move from with in 1 meter of Renji, then a vortex of wind would appear surrounding Komon; the vortex appearing at a speed of 155, and having a power of 85 (after scaling).

Once the vortex was formed, Komon would be sent flying upward at a speed of 77.  Being that Renji knew the flow of the air in the wind vortex, he would be able to work his leg free from Komons clutches, as both of Komon’s arms would be sent up straight over his head and locked in and extended position; this allowing Renji to fall effortlessly to the ground in front of Komon. (All of this would only happen of Renji was able to get off the initial kick.

As he lands to the ground Renji would be excessively breathing as he was nearly out of stamina Chakra. He would be looking at Komon, as He plans out the execution of the second half of his full-moon elephant jutsu.

Since Renji decided to hop around, and was clearly planning to use his leg komon's plan would adjust as he was moving the boys leg to his armpit, and instead of placing it there and letting renji jump around for a little, he'd act while the boy hopped and before his roll had ever started or renji's kick had ever begun to initiate. While Renji had one leg in the air and one leg captured in Komon's arm, he was effectively jumping and helpless to resist the motion Komon had chosen to do instead of rolling.

He'd pull backwards at his max speed of 110 and max strength of 70 with the arm holding the leg. Now that both renji's feet were off the ground he'd have nowhere to place his weight, and no time to react before hand to stop it, as the attack was initiated while he was in the air. Renji's body would move towards Komon as the hyuuga powered through the pain of his free and fractured arm and sent an open palm into Reizo's chest sending the boy flat on his back to the ground. If the attack landed, it would hit with 70 strength 110 speed, and have a 40 power tenketsu needle attached to it.

Renji would most likely be momentarily stunned by the impact of the blow, and his body slamming against the ground, Komon would use the time to get back on his feet. And he'd allow the boy to get back on his own as well before motioning to continue. His father had taught him honor at a young age, and he'd never hit a man while he was down.

As there fight continued on, the clear difference in experience level would begin to show between the two Hyuugas. Being completely consumed in landing his full moon elephant technique, the genin did not realize that while he was hoping up and down to gain momentum for his kick, he was also jumping in a Manor that was very easy to time and exploit, and the veteran shinobi took full advantage of this.

Just as Renji was about to begin his kick, while his foot was just about to hit the ground, he would feel a hard tug on his trapped leg, causing his entire body to jerk forward. “awe crap” Renji would think to himself as he is making the short flight towards Komon. Through his byakugan Renji would also see as Komon was readying  his injured arm for yet another strike attempt.

While he was able to see the strike coming, there was not much that Renji could do as Komon’s arm was moving faster than the younger Hyuuga could hope to match. “what to do what to do what to do.” He would quickly ask of himself as he watched Komon’s fist inching closer towards his chest. To top it off, it looked as if Komon was looking for another chakra restraining tenketsu needle strike.

Seeing that his chances of blocking or evading the attack where slim to none. Renji would revert back to his old thinking of trying to power through his opponents attack. Since he could not get out of the way, he was going to try to make Komon take some damage in order to land his blow.

At this point, the fight had been going on for a few minutes, however having to fight a more polished and experienced fighter had taken its toll on the young genin. He knew that he did not have much left in his tank and this next attack would probably be one of the last that he would be able to muster up, so he would try his best to make it count.

As the boy was still flying towards his opponent, but before komon’s strike had landed, Renji would shoot his right arm forward and to an angle at a speed of 115 and a power of 70. Because he was rushing to get his attack off, Renji would not fully extend his arm. This leaving his punch to fall short of his opponent by a few inches. However, the goal of the punch was not to hit Komon with his fist, but instead to hit him with the 3 inch sphere that would come shooting out of Renji’s fist. The sphere would be created a few inches away from komon’s shoulder. Renji would try to position the sphere in a way that it would hit Komon should he not do something about it.. The sphere would move at a speed of 60 and have a power of 50.

Renji would not be able to see the success or failure of his attack however, as no soon as he shoot out his fist, would Komon’s fist come in contact with Renji’s chest. The blow would be strong enough to completely halt The Hyuuga’s forward momentum and sends him flying backwards. He would land on the ground hard, skidding backwards a few feet. The impact of Komon’s attack would momentarily stun Renji, he would be so stunned that his byakugan would switch off.

The young Hyuuga would lay there for a bit as he tries to regain his composure. It seemed as though Komon was not going to take advantage of the downed genin, and was going to let him get up. While it was very noble of the jounin. Renji knew that had this been a real fight, he would probably be dead.

Almost fully out of stamina, Renji would struggle to get back to his feet almost falling over from exhaustion a few times before finally standing up to his feet. Once he was back on his feet, he would start to feel the pain In  his chest from Komon’s tenketsu needle. The pain from his strike was more intense than the previous tenketsu needle the genin had taken earlier in the fight.

Despite being completely near exhaustion, Renji would look to his opponent before taking back up his fighting stance and activating his byakugan . And with a deep breath, Renji would slowly inch his way back towards Komon to resume the fight (speed 40). Having taken the earlier strike to his leg, Renji would be walking rather gingerly on it. And the shot he had taken to his chest had knocked the wind out of him and may have broken a rib or two as with every inhale the young genin would feel a sharp pain coming from the area. As he’s dragging his body towards the jounin, Renji would keep his eyes and byakugan closely attached to Komon, ready to move should the jounin try anything.

Komon's reaction time and speed gave him plenty of time to see the sphere coming and his shoulder would drop accordingly, letting the sphere graze his shoulder so gently that it ripped his shirt, but failed to harm his flesh. His hit would land and renji would be sent backwards.

Komon would take that time to brush the dust off of what was left of his shirt, before looking back to renji, who was already in the process of getting back up. Komon's hand would rise, motioning for him to stop. "That's enough. You've kept me on my toes all fight, I think you're more than ready to move onto your next exam." The hyuuga would say.

"Besides, I gotta get this elbow checked out" The words were truthful, Renji had been a much tougher opponent than he had expected, and in a tai match.. He felt the boy outmatched him. If he let this go on much longer he might just embarrass himself. He'd sigh before sticking up his thumb and using it to point to the door behind his shoulder, "Go on, get out of here and start training for the next one, They only get harder from here" He'd say as memories from the prisoner exam began to flood back to him.

As he inched his injured self ever close to the jounin instructor, the instructor would raise his hand signaling the end of the sparing match,  it seemed as if he had seen enough and was pleased with what he saw as he would pass Renji; even complimenting Renji on his skills in taijutsu. Renji would be extremely happy that he had passed the exam, though he would not be able to show it. He was still heavily beaten up from the shots landed by Komon during their match. Renji would follow Komon’s directions and limps to and through the door behind the veteran Hyuuga.

As he is passing Komon, Renji would turn to him and thanks him for the intense training session, it was easily the hardest the young boy had worked in his life. And while he got his but kicked it would serve both as a wake up call informing him that he needed to push harder in his trainings and stop slacking off, and it also showed him where he was lacking and on what he should be working. Renji knew that he would want to test his skills out again against Komon once Renji had gotten better as a shinobi. But for now, he just wanted a bed, and an ice pack. “thanks again, see ya later Komon sensei.” He would bow his head before turning and walking out of the back door of the room.

Once he had made it out of the door and was sure that Komon was not around anymore Renji would rest his back up against the back of the door and let’s out a deep sign of pain. He had been trying this whole time to put on a fact for Komon and not appeared injured from their battle. But now with no adrenaline coursing through his body, he could feel all of the pain both in his leg as well as in his chest. Running hid hand along his mod section, Renji could feel where Komon had broken a few of his ribs. “well it could be worse.” He would say to himself as he slowly lowers his body to the floor before continuing on “I could have failed the test too.” Renji would jokingly say to himself, as he tries to make light of his injuries.

The boy would sit there with his back up against the back of the door for a few minutes perhaps even a half an hour before he was finally in good enough shape to peel himself off of the floor. Grimishing  with pain, renji would make his exit from the academy, heading in the direction of the hospital “I hope Saya is working today.” He would mumble to himself as he heads down the street.


“hey Saya, I have good news, and bad news.” Renji would jokingly say to his teammate over the telepathy seal.
