It had taken months for Kaori to be approved to train again, to regain his strength enough to be cleared for more basic exercises and jutsu. But it had finally happened, and here he was getting ready to work on retraining his body and learning more jutsu. For now, he’d decided to keep it simple, working more on medical ninjutsu than the more combative stuff. This time he’d chosen to work on the simplest medical ninjutsu of all: the basic medical ninjitsu used mainly to heal bruises and small cuts. Since he’d be testing it on himself he’d let himself attain a few bruises when exercising, just to heal them with this. He remembered the handsigns, going over then in his head a few times. Slow and steady, this was the first time he’d be performing jutsu in several months. Finally, he moved his hands into the first seal, Boar. He couldn’t keep from trembling for long, so he moved into rat quickly. And finally, making the snake sign, his hands were glowing lightly with chakra as he then moved them to the cuts and bruises on his legs. To his immense relief, they started scabbing over quickly. Luckily, a fairly easy jutsu. After that, he moved on to his arms. There was less to do there, but he channeled his chakra into helping them heal regardless. He was shaking a little at this point, still weak, but he kept going regardless. He really wanted to get this down, since it’d help a great deal with his training and recovery.

That first try successful, Kaori sighed in audible relief. However, he knew that wouldn’t be enough. Sure he had healed his cuts and bruises, but he needed something stronger than that. In his current state, he was weak. Too weak to be of much use to the village, or any teams he ended up on in the future. Learning to at least heal slightly more serious injuries would make him more worthy of being called a ninja of Kumogakure. And thus, he moved into position again, this time ready to try the slightly stronger version of the jutsu. This time, he only needed to make two signs, boar and rat. Moving his fingers into the first sign, he couldn’t stop the slight tremors that shook his small frame. Was he pushing too hard on his first day back, to do combat and jutsu training? Probably. Would that stop him? No.
He took a deep breath before he moved to rat, still shaky but determined to keep going. He’d been inactive for far too long, it was time he remedied that. Grayish violet eyes narrowed in determination, he watched as his hands once more took on the slight glow that indicated his chakra usage. There wasn’t really anything left to heal that the jutsu could help with, so he let it dissipate just as quickly as he’d done the jutsu, leaning back a little and wiping some sweat from his brow. Too far? Absolutely. He should probably go back home to Takumi, he reasoned, standing up and dusting off purple clothes. He was resigned to a pissed boyfriend when he got home, knowing full well the other boy would be furious he’d exhausted himself.
