There have been reports that multiple people have had their paintings stolen from their homes or shops.
Find the thief and bring him in by any means, while at the same time returning the stolen arts, or what remains, safely back to the rightful owners.

Jiro could not believe his luck! He had gone to the mission board and had been assigned a D-Rank mission. Finally! Something harder than catching animals and delivering mail. He was getting tired of dealing with such simple tasks. Sure, he was not the most intelligent shinobi, but he knew when things were too easy even for him. Those tasks were for actual babies. Babies!

Once the red-eyed blonde got the mission, he was told that the newest art theft was at a wealthy couple's house and was given the directions. He was also told that he would meet a fellow genin who would be working and helping him figure out who had them and stop them by any means necessary. Any means necessary... The thought excited him and sent a shiver up his spine as he thought about the implications. Any means neccessary...

Even death, should they find the art or what was left of it.

Jiro made his way to the house and looked at it. Well, more of a mansion! His eyes widened. He had never seen anything like it before. The vampire knocked on the door and was let into the house by a couple that had the nicest clothes he had ever seen.

He walked into the house and looked around. They had paintings and sculptures all over the place and a bare wall where something was clearly ripped from the wall and taken. He looked around the room and his eyes widened. There was a few more things clearly missing here and there, but this was the most expensive-looking house he had ever been in. And he was still waiting for his partner to show up.

Being in the upper class part of town made Kaito feel weird, the result of a lifetime of living in the seedy underbelly of the Kumogakure. Even so, he swaggered through the street, confident in himself; a mask, to be sure, a mantle that helped hide the cracks in the armor. The mission for the day would be to find an art thief; someone had been sneaking away pricey objects from rich peoples houses, and it was up to Kaito and his mission partner Jiro Kyokosomething to figure out what happened. For Kaito, this would be like hold times: recalling his stories of bartending for crooks and criminals. Many had had basic ninja training despite not going through with graduating the academy, but still had the techniques that could assist in becoming a crook.

As Kaito made it to the address, he looked around for anyone who might look like a ninja; he didn’t find one and to be honest he wasn’t sure he knew what one would look like. Him himself was wearing jeans with a black hoodie, and the only identifiable thing that made him a ninja was the black headband of the Kumogakure which kept back his red hair. the fact that he wore two blades at his belt could help identifying him as well. Who knew.

He looked at the mansion; a pale gold paint made the house look glorious, the window sills carved in beautiful wood with a white paint kept pristine. The gardens surrounding it held roses, but also fresh soil. Kaito did a quick inspection of the surroundings as a butler followed him waiting to welcome him into the grounds. As he looked, in one section, he found two sets of footprints coming in, with only one going out. As he looked at the wall, located at the south wing of the house, he noticed dirt on the wall: footprints walked up the wall and into the second floor. “Surface walking technique. Cheeky bastards.” He was ready to go in.

As he went in, he saw a tall figure with long flowing blonde hair already in. The extravagance of the person made Kaito think it was the owner. “Hello there. My name is Noboru Kaito, and I’ll be helping in this investigation today, I'm waiting for my partner to arrive. And you are…?” He extended his hand to shake hands with the genin he mistook for the owner of the house.

[size=31]Jiro bit his lip in concentration as he examined everything in the room carefully. There was beauty in the art and he could not help but to admire it. Why him though? He did not know art at all. He could draw anatomically correct stick figures, but that was as far as his drawing 'talent' went. [/size]

[size=31]He was soon distracted from the artwork by a presence. He felt it before he saw it. The movement of someone opening and closing the door, quiet footsteps. Red eyes widened as he tensed for a brief moment before relaxing again, not giving any clues that he had heard someone else. His hand moved to clutch one of the kunai kept tucked in his wespons pouch. The vampire was soon approached by his mission partner, but the greeting did not go the way he thought it would. It actually took him aback a bit. He turned to face the stranger, grinning widely as he did so.[/size]

[size=31]"Jiro Kyuketsuki," he said, fangs glinting slightly before he stopped smiling. "The couple're in the kitchen. They didn't wanna get in the way of 'the help.'" He removed his hand from the pouch before using air quotes around the last two words.[/size]

[size=31]Red eyes rolled slightly as he explained the situation to the other genin. This guy seemed a bit old to be a genin. Maybe he was a jounin sent to monitor him? Jiro tilted his head to the side as he looked Noboru over carefully. Headband exactly like his, except his was kept wrapped around his belt like a buckle. But no flak jacket or any factors that would make him seem like he was anything other than a genin. "Why aren't ya a jounin by now?" he asked.[/size]

[size=31]But then he turned back to the wall and pointed to a few places. "The pieces were ripped from the wall. Probably chakra threads," he explained. "And they said we can capture whoever took these pieces by any means necessary…" Jiro looked at him again, eyes glinting excitedly.[/size]

Of course, Kaito would confuse his fellow Genin for a lordling. He pretended nothing out of the ordinary happened before looking into the wall. Given the difference in the pain of the wall, there seemed to have been a painting in the perfect painted area of the wall not affected by the sun as the surrounding. Closer inspection revealed no recent scratches to the wall; a perfect lift off. As he looked to the floor to try and find traces of dirt, he couldn’t help but feel the gaze of his companion. He turned his head to meet his gaze, upon which he was asked about his ranking. He retorted quickly, annoyed. “Shouldn’t you be in a coffin? It’s still day outside, after all.”

Just before things could get heated up, the vampire made sure to say more nonsensical nonsense. “No, they said to bring them in by any means necessary, not tear them apart by any means necessary.” However, the vampire did make a point. Chakra threads. “Hm”, the red head pondered. “I found footprints outside, going up the wall. I think I know what low life did this; he used to hang out in my bar. A dropout of the academy, but he always bragged he was able to do ninjutsu. Let’s go.”

As he made out of the house, he hoped the vampire followed. “Now, remember, we can’t kill him, but we can bruise him. He may try some sneaky stuff, so be on your guard.” After a while walking into the seedy are of the village, Kaito pointed to a brown house, a small and dirty thing. “I’ll go around. Remember, no killing.”

OOC Stuff:

As the duo approached the house of the supposed thief, the door to said house opened, revealing the messy insides of what was otherwise an art thief's house. As soon as he saw Kaito, an expression of confusion populated the wrinkles in the man's expressions. Looking at the two headbands with the Kumogakure's symbols on the two genin, the man realized what was about to happen, and ran back into the house. "Damnit, go in, I'll go around." Instead of going actually around, Kaito dug straight into the floor using his Earth Release: Hiding Like a Mole Technique. Due to the nature of the technique, Kaito was able to move to where he knew to be the back of the house where the thief would run out of in case Jiro did not apprehend him on the inside, and the sensory advantages the technique employed allowed him to avoid foundations and pipelines. Sensing someone running up above where the thief would've made the escape, Noboru surfaced in front of the man. "Stop running, you're going to force me to break something in you." The man consented, defeated.

Bringing him in, Kaito would thank Jiro for his participation, and walk away with the bounty for the man's arrest.
