Money to make, love to lose

Jocky Sabotage
Before leaving Suna, Taichi decided to take a walk through the village. He wanted to see all the sights, just the way they were, so he could remember them. He figured this would have helped his being homesick, to see it in the shambles that it was. He walked slowly through the alleys and roadways, sliding his hand against the sandy walls and feeling what had remained of the cool air that had came and went in the night of the desert. As he walked by the library, he remembered all the times that he had spent hours on end, reading scrolls and books, trying to learn all that he could about anything and everything. Nothing was to small that it wasn’t worth learning about. He read about amazing creatures that roamed the Earth and her seas, he read about all the techniques that had been created even before the destruction of the Earth that happened a couple centuries ago.
He felt that all of the books that he read gave him another edge against the other students because he was constantly feeding his mind information about Fire style, which was the element that he had already had an affinity for. Fire style was the traditional element for his clan, the Uchihas, so he wasn’t particularly surprised when he found that his first element was Fire. Taichi walked past the library and he went toward the village square, where the markets used to be held.
Taichi walked through the square, remembering when he was a child walking through the square with his father. His mother had died years ago when she was guarding the walls of Sunagakure, a thief was trying to escape and she got in the way. The way the story goes she was put under a Genjutsu, then during her trance, the thief had slit her throat as he jumped the wall and ran out of the village. She was found the next morning, and she was gone.
Taichi’s father was so depressed by this, he spent months trying to put himself in so much alcohol that he ended up going to the hospital for alcohol poisoning. After being in the hospital for almost a week, he came home even more depressed than he was before. For months after his return to hospital he was an angry man. He would come home from guard duty and would beat Taichi if he had a bad day, or if he had a good day. Taichi learned to dodge his father’s attacks and found a way to cheer him up with alcohol and food. It was no life really worth living, but he felt so sorry for his father, he didn’t know what to do.
Finally one night, when Taichi came home from his graduation from the Ninja Academy, Taichi walked through the front doors of his house. He was calling for his father, wondering where he may be if he didn’t show up to the graduation. He looked through the whole house, until he found him. He found his father swinging from the bannister on the stairs that led to the upper floor of the house by his neck.
Taichi sprinted over to his father and cut him down, but it was too late. In a panic, he tried to wake his father up, knowing what was actually going on, but refusing to face it, refusing to believe the fact that he had been orphaned by both of his parents. He tried using the little medical ninjutsu that he had learned in the academy, praying that for some reason it would work on such an extreme case, but it was no luck.
Taichi shook his head violently, trying to stop thinking about his past. He realized that the sun was coming up and it was time to hit the road. Taichi began walking toward the village gates, making sure to take the most direct path there, he had a long trek ahead of him and he wanted to make sure he reached his mark in time. He took a contract the day before, the contract was to stop a certain jockey from winning a horse race out in the borderlands of the nations. His job was to make sure that he stopped this “Anonio Carlos” from winning while also not leaving any signs of foul play and make sure to not get caught.
He took this contract without a second thought, it gave him a chance to do some more traveling and make some money while he was at it. Taichi was coming up on the village gates and he prepared himself for leaving. He had learned a good technique for keeping himself warm throughout the night using his fire infused chakra, so he should be able to walk through the night and not have to worry about dying when the temperature in the desert spikes down. So after ensuring that he had enough food for the trip, he headed out the gates and readied his mind for a few day trip.
He had one stop before he would reach his mark. He was meeting with a member of the Aburame clan, they specialized in dealing with different insects and used them in battle or for interrogation. He met a few members on his travels throughout the ninja nations, but there was one that actually created different types of poisons from the secretions of his insects. The Aburame had been telling Taichi about one certain toxin that he found that Taichi thought would be perfect for this mission. This toxin was completely untraceable, but was highly effective. It didn’t hurt the consumer of the toxin, but it would make them irresistibly tired and sluggish. If the horse was given some of this prior to the race, he would be surprised if the horse would make it to the finish line, let alone win first.
He was reaching the point that he could no longer see Suna within his vision of sight and he felt good about this trip. He had a plan in place, now he just needed to perform the plan and everything would hopefully go the way he planned on it. The sun was now at its highest point in its travels across the sky, and was beginning it descent back toward the horizon. The heat was getting to bother Taichi, so he decided to take a break underneath a large palm tree that was growing next to a smaller oasis. He leaned against the tree and thought about what he was going to do with the Ryo that he would be coming into once he finished the contract.
“I could benefit from some tools. Maybe I’ll buy myself a Tanto blade. Then maybe some books, that way I can read when I am on these long trips.”
While he loved the desert, his home. He did have a desire to go out and see the mountains. He loved the idea of a cooler climate, one that didn’t have such extreme temperature changes like the desert had. But he also realized that this is where the money was, robbing caravans and whatnot. While he didn’t know for sure if the mountains provided the same economy for him, but he knew for sure the deserts did. One day he would make the trip, but for now, he needed to get stronger with his body and with his arsenal, as of right now. There was no way that he could go that far away and not have an issue with people who may want him dead. Taichi was done with his break, so he hopped up to his feet, grabbed his backpack and went back onto the trail.
After a few more hours of walking along the path, the sun was beginning to fall beneath the sands in the Land of Wind. Taichi did love sunset the sandy plains did provide. He watched as the gorgeous magenta and oranges of the sky collided, overlapped, and scattered in the clouds throughout the sky. The palm trees gently swayed as the winds began to pick up across the sand. As the sun set, Taichi continued down the path. At the rate that he was walking, he would reach the Aburame by morning, then the horse track by the afternoon.
The terrain was beginning to change from the sandy deserts that lay in the land of wind. To the thick lush forests of the land of fire. The Aburame clan had a large population in the land of fire, which is exactly why Taichi decided to travel through the land of fire, so he could meet an Aburame and befriend them. If he was able to get in good with a poison/toxin specialist, then he would be able to take his assasinations or really any mission to a whole other level.
As Taichi was walking through the thick forests, he began to see large conglomerates of different types of insects, he smiled because he knew that he was being watched. The farther into the woods he got, the bigger the groups of insects. This is when Taichi decided to speak out about his being followed.
“Come on! I know you’re out there Come on down so I can get moving!”
As he finished his words, a giant clump of insects slowly repelled from the tops of the trees. It was Taichi’s contact. After a few words of greeting, Taichi told the Aburame that what it was that he needed. The Aburame smiled and nodded and began reaching into his bag. As he was looking through his bag, Taichi noticed that he was making good time based on the sun’s location.
When the Aburame handed him a small vial and he began to go over the instructions with him. Taichi felt confident that he understood how he was going to carry out his plan. While he didn’t want to hurt the horse or the rider of the horse, he decided that he was going to slow down the horse, and make it to where the rider of the horse wouldn’t win the race with first, if the horse made it to the finish line in the first place. Taichi thanked the Aburame, he nodded to Taichi and they split their paths. Taichi realized that he was going to be late at this pace, so he tightened up the straps on his backpack and he began running through the forests, jumping from tree top to tree top, picking up the pace the farther he got.
Taichi arrived at the horse track and he began searching for a way into the building without being noticed, or paying because he didn’t have much money. As he circled around the entirety of the horse track, he noticed that the barn was not being guarded at this point. Taichi decided to use this to his advantage and he went into the barn. He was searching through the pens, trying to find the right horse. Luckily there was a file in front of each horse so the hands that worked with bringing the horses out to the track would know which horse was which. Taichi read each of the files until he found the file with the mark’s name on it. Anonio Carlos’ horse was a beautiful black horse with slight feathers on the bottom of each leg. He admired the beauty of the horse for a moment, before he grabbed the vial out of his backpack and he poured the toxin into the water that was sitting directly in front of the horse and next to the gate that allowed entry into the pen.
When Taichi was done, he snuck out of the barn and into the stands to see if that toxin he got from the Aburame clan member had worked. As the horses got ready, the announcer began talking into the microphone telling the crowd that the race was just about to begin. All of the people got into their seats and waited for the race to begin. As the horn went off to signal the beginning of the race, all of the gates burst open and the horses were off. Taichi watched as the beautiful black horse that he had slipped in a little additive into its water slowly begin to drag one of its feet, then its head began to stoop. The jockey, Anonio Carlos, was visibly confused and frustrated. Until the horse finally stopped running altogether and came to a stop. The jockey was kicking his feet frantically until the horse finally laid down on its side and fell asleep.
Taichi was happy with his work and he snuck out the back door and started the long journey home and he thought for a while about the fact that the reason the people who put the contract together wanted an animal abuser to lose a race, but wouldn’t that in an of itself cause him to beat the animal even more than if he was to win? Taichi did not want to try and poke holes in the plan that the people had made, so he decided to just forget about it.

On his travels, Taichi walked under an archway that loomed over the beaten path that read, “Welcome to Bust.” Being already on this path and with the sunlight coming to an end, he figured it was probably the best time to call it a night. While walking under the wooden archway, he pondered the integrity of the beams that held the sign that was carved into a log.
“The only thing holding the sign up were these two beams made of weathered wood. Be a pity if someone was to be killed by this beam falling and crushing them.”
Taichi memorized the location and the positioning of the beams and sign, noting it for any further use it may serve him, if anything was to happen. He continued on the path toward Bust, and as he past the archway, he laid his hand onto the weathered wood, feeling the roughness in his hands.
The closer that he came to the town, the more people began to notice him, and the more they began noticing him, the more glares and scowls he received. He thought of the sign that he saw he passed as he walked into the town,
“Welcome to Bust? I don’t think we agree on the definition of welcome.”
Taichi shrugged off the glares, he was used to those, but he didn’t like the murmuring, not because he was worried about them talking crap about him, he just felt it was unmannered to speak in such ways. He continued to walk forward and when he saw a lit up sign, he got a little giddy. He ran up to the sign and began to read it aloud.
Karaoke Night!!!
Winner will receive
-1000 RYO-
He couldn’t help but feel a glimpse of joy in his heart, before the war, his fiance’s family would always drag Taichi with them to karaoke night. He couldn’t stand it then, but looking back on it now. He rarely had more fun doing anything else, and he always enjoyed spending time with his would-be family. While he was happy with the memories that were fleeting through his mind, his eyes began to shimmer with both excitement, joy, and utter depression. He thought about Hana often, pretty much his whole day was spent thinking about her and what kind of life they could have had in the village of Sunagakure. Taichi did his best to forget about her for just a moment, and regained his excitement for the karaoke night.
He walked into the bar that had the sign for karaoke night sitting just outside, and he walked over to the bartender to ask about information on the event that they were carrying. The bartender gazed at Taichi as he spoke, and he was constantly checking Taichi’s body language. Taichi could feel the man’s eyes on his body as he was asking him questions. When Taichi was done speaking, the bartender simply said,
“We won’t be having your kind here. You missing ninjas are nothing but trouble. Always coming, taking what you want, and killing anyone who gets in your way. I won’t have it, now you get out of here!”
Taichi’s mind began to race in both anger and sadness. He wanted nothing more than to just relive the memories that he had of his late fiance and her family, but just because of his lack of affiliation with any village, that was enough to brand him as unfit to be part of a karaoke competition? He had a hard time taking this news, and many of the patrons in the bar began to stare at Taichi as if he was a monster, someone to hate before even meeting him. This was the moment that Taichi had to make a choice. Did he shoulder the frustration that he felt against the people for hating him before even knowing him? Or did he take out his frustration on everyone inside the bar?
"I'd watch my tone if I was you. I could RIP your entrails out and wear them like a scarf if I wanted. I could find your family and hang them one by one and make you watch."
Taichi whispered into the bartender's ear just loud enough that only he could hear. He then walked away from the bar, heart utterly broken as he felt the memories of the karaoke nights with Hana and her family begin to slip away, farther and farther from his view. While also being so angry at the behaviour of the bartender. While he wanted to carry out his threat and make his life hell. He also didnt want to start a huge fight, causing the death of even more people.Even farther from his grip. He left the bar and he sat on the bench that sat next to the bar, unsure of what to do with himself at that moment. The memories were flooding his mind and he wanted to see them, but they only brought more torment.
As Taichi was beginning to get close to getting over what had just happened inside the bar, he noticed that the competition had already started, and they were on their final act. The one who took the stage was a petite man, looking to be only a little older than himself, maybe eighteen or nineteen. He listened as the man began singing a wonderful rendition of “I Dream a Dream” from Les Miserables. Taichi listened and was mesmerized by the voice the man on the stage had.
“This song being sung so perfectly by a female is already so rare. But to be sung this wonderfully by a male, that is absolutely something to marvel.”
The song ended, and he saw the bartender hand the money over to the boy who sang I dream a dream and they left the stage. As the bar patrons continued to party inside the bar, Taichi noticed the boy who won beginning to walk out of the bar. He met the boy at the door and congratulated him on his victory and praised him for how beautifully he had sung such a hard song to sing, especially for a male. The boy smiled and thanked Taichi for the kind words.
The boy stopped his smile and spoke softly toward Taichi, he apologized for the behaviour of the bartender. Taichi grinned and shrugged it off. He told the boy that it was something that was quite regular, and that Taichi just hadn’t learned his lesson about being incognito when he was traveling on the roads. The boy smiled back and handed Taichi the bag that held his winnings inside. Taichi was confused so the boy explained,
“I don’t care what you have done. You still didn’t deserve to be treated in such a way by a complete stranger who you have not wronged. I want you to have this, and continue on your journey, I hope you find what it is that you are looking for.”
Taichi was stunned, he hadn’t experienced such compassion for a total stranger, let alone a stranger who knew that he was a missing nin. He thanked the boy and they hook hands. As they parted ways, Taichi had received not only money, but a small glimpse of hope in what humanity could achieve one day. Compassion on those who are different than yourself. Compassion on those who have been dealt a different, most likely worse hand than yourself. Taichi put the bag of winnings in his backpack, and he began walking through the town towards the exit. He passed by another archway that said “Welcome to Bust.” Taichi laughed and walked away.

Taichi never really had a lot of money. Most of his life was spent trying to figure out how to make things work and how to make ends meet. This was something that he thought everyone went through. This naive belief was not very long for this world, for it would be crushed in a matter of seconds when his father took him out into the more wealthy part of Suna.
“Son I want you to remember something. Money means power. Money allows some people like these to live in a completely different world than people like us. We work so hard our entire lives, just so these people and can take it and spend it on themselves. This is why your mother worked so hard and gave her life to this village. So these bastards can have the nicest houses, while we live in a shack.”
Taichi didn’t really know what to say to this, he thought everyone worked hard throughout their lives and earned what they had. But his father would talk about the wealth indifference between his family and the rich quite often. He made it sound like the rich didn’t work for anything and just stole all of the money from the working class. This was something that Taichi didn’t inherit from his father, he was always quite indifferent to the dispersion of wealth. He felt that if he had enough to get through the day, he was satisfied.
Lately though, money was becoming a thing of interest to Taichi. This was mainly due to the fact that he had nothing left. He lost his family, he lost his fiance and her family, he lost his home. What was left? The words that his father told him, “Money means power.” At this point. Power is what Taichi felt that he none of. He had no control over his life, it was all being determined by other people higher on the totem pole than himself. They took his home and his fiance, they took all the family that he had ever known. The village system was the cause of most of his problems and he wanted to do something to try and rupture the still waters that they had been enjoying for as long as the sun started to shine.
Taichi was in his home, the home that he grew up in. No one had bothered it in the time that he was gone, which was lucky due to the fact that crime had been rising in the time that Taichi had been on the road, trying to forget about this very house. Trying to forget about all the ways that he had been wronged in this world. But every time he tried to forget, he continued to come right back to that short sentence from his father, “Money means power.” This made Taichi’s mind begin to fixtate. All his life, he had no money. All his life, he was under the direct pressure of the village system. This was his time to fix that and he knew it.
The desert sky began to fill with light as the sun was coming up from under the piles of sand that covered the terrain, the clouds in the sky were bright and brilliant in color. Taichi was sitting at the dining room table, contemplating what he was going to do that day, should he try and rob a few caravans? Should he make an honest living? Should he rob a rich person’s house? The questions continued to flow through his mind as he thought of each choice and weighed them in his mind.
He thought about who he would rob, would it be an innocent person’s house? He considered it, but he decided that he would feel as though he was stealing from someone like his mother. All she did her entire life was try her best to make an honest living, sure she didn’t make much, but she tried. This was enough to deter Taichi from the idea and he tried to think of another target. He thought about the once beautiful village of Suna. Even though he didn’t like the power system, he still loved this village and hated seeing it so filled with crime, both organized and unorganized.
This is when the idea hit Taichi, the evil people who ran the criminals became the powerful ones and they were the ones that had the money. This didn’t sit well with Taichi, he decided that he was going to rob a crime boss, and try his best not to get caught. If he was to get money in a dishonorable way, he was at least going to steal from those who are themselves, dishonorable.
Taichi stood up from his table, pushed in his chair and took another look through his house that his parents’ had purchased before they both left. He placed his hands on the cabinets that surrounded the kitchen, remembered cooking breakfast with his mother every morning before she went off to work guard on the wall. He remembered when his mother would take him to the wall when she was off duty, to show him all the different backways and alleys that would create all kinds of shortcuts that allowed Taichi to get to the academy when he was running late.
Taichi thought for a moment, he tried remembering all of the shortcuts that she had taught him. He thought of where he wanted to go in town, the man on the wall was right when he told Taichi that Suna had become a lawless place, full of degenerates. The fact that his home was not ransacked through was a complete miracle, or just pure luck. Because of the current state of affairs in Suna, he was going to need to sneak through the village, find a house that he felt was worthy of being robbed, and sneak back through the village, and then finally get back into his home to think about what exactly he was going to do with his newfound money or valuables.
Taichi walked up to his front door, ensuring his backpack was empty to make sure he had plenty of room before he got to the mark’s house so he could stuff all he could find. When he felt that he was ready to begin his journey, he opened his front door and he could hear screams coming from what sounded like a couple streets down. Taichi made sure that he was as quiet as possible when he began walking through the shortcuts that he could remember.
As he was sneaking through the burned carcass that could still be considered Suna to those who didn’t live here before the battle had happened. To those who had grown up here, this was no longer Sunagakure no Sato. The Suna that he remembered was full of good people, families even. Now the only type of people that Taichi had met was missing ninjas who only wanted to make money by any means necessary, and the man on the wall. He was the man that warned Taichi about the current state of Suna. Taichi was curious about the man on the wall, the man named Stark. What exactly did he do in Suna? Was he the leader of all the Missing Ninjas? Is that even a thing to be in charge of that kind of group? So many questions still filled his mind as he thought about how things were being run, maybe he would meet that man again. Then Taichi could actually get some answers as to what exactly happened after the battle in Suna that turned it from the wonderful village that it was, to being the lawless, foul place that it had turned into.
Taichi was weaving through the village, going down every shortcut he could think of, using the surface walking technique that he had learned in the academy by going up to the rooftops. He used the vantage points that was provided by the rooftops to see just what area of the village that he was looking for. He wanted to find a part of town that was filled with the type of houses that Taichi figured to be full with money or other valuables that crime boss would have in his home. As he neared the residential areas of Sunagakure no Sato, he was found a few houses that he thought that would make good targets. He found one house most peculiar and the most likely target for his misdeed.
Taichi leaped from roof top to roof top, he got closer to the target house and he continued to keep his eyes open and ready to flee from whatever fight that would come his way. While he was a ninja, he knew pretty much nothing in the likes of techniques and jutsu, so he was aware of his own abilities enough to know that he was not going to win in any fight that was with anyone of skill. Taichi was on top of the roof of his target house, making sure to look around for anyone that may be of worry, being anyone, and when he didn’t see anyone, he walked down the wall and began looking through one of the windows to see if he could find anything of worth.
He slowly opened the window, and crept inside the house. He looked through the drawers of the first room that he had entered, it was a fairly large room that had large portraits of the same person on each of them. Taichi figured this was probably the owner of the house, and he just so happened to be as vain as he would expect from a crime boss. He found nothing in the drawers, so he moved over to the closet. He moved all of the clothes out of the way and began looked to see what he could find. What he found was most interesting, a small corner on the back panel of the closet was loose.
Taichi pried the corner of the panel off of the wall, and he slowly pulled it off the wall. The entire panel came right off and exposed what looked like a safe that had just been installed. He figured it was still newly installed by there being a tag with the pass code still being written on it. Taichi was sure the code didn’t work or that there would be nothing inside, no crime boss would be that stupid. So Taichi tried the code and to his surprise the safe opened right up. He looked inside and saw stacks of money inside, probably only about two thousand ryo, but hey that was enough to keep this robber happy. He grabbed the money and just then, he heard a man coming up the stairs talking to some other people that must have been in his house.
This was the point that Taichi realized that he never searched the house before commencing the robbing of the house. Taichi quickly stuffed the money into his backpack and hurried toward the door. The man caught a glimpse of Taichi, but luckily only a glimpse. The man began yelling to the others downstairs about Taichi robbing the house. The man threw a kunai directly for Taichi, but he had just went up to the roof before it hit his location. Taichi looked at his options and began sprinting off the roof and going to the next rooftop to the house directly to the north of h. His heart beating as if it was just about to throb out of his chest. He knew that whoever would be chasing after Taichi would be stronger than he was, so he now knew that he needed to escape, but not lead them directly to his house.
The village was filled with criminals also, that was the main thing that he needed to worry about. If the man that he had stolen from was truly a crime boss, then he would have his goons chasing Taichi around the entire village, unless he found some sort of way that would lose them. Luckily none of the men had seen him, he was sure of this due to the fact that he was already out the window when the man had noticed Taichi’s presence and threw that kunai at him.
Taichi looked for a split second and he found himself a route that he believed would lead him safely through town, and directly next to some shortcuts he would use to shake whatever tails he had chasing him. He sprinted down the wall and leaped when he reached a safe distance from the ground. He ran around a building that sat on the corner and he continued to swerve around the buildings, taking what seemed like wild and unexpected turns. When he didn’t see anyone following him for almost an hour, he went to a random house that was empty for another couple hours to ensure they didn’t follow him all the way to his own house. Finally when he felt the coast was clear. He went home to stow his money away in a somewhat safe place.

Mission Details
Taichi was ready for a fight, or maybe he was ready to begin his first stab at torture. All he knew was that he needed some more money. He was going to need to get into a lot of money to buy the things he felt he was going to need to become a master ninja. He had been focusing so much on training and spending time with Bri. But now he was ready to get back to business for a day and try his best to make some money. He woke up on a beautiful morning in the lawless section of the Earth that was once called Suna. He got out of bed, albeit pretty slowly, but he was still ready to take on the world and make some money.
He got ready by putting on his black turtleneck and blue sleeveless jacket. Once he had his outfit on, he felt he was ready to leave. Once he was out of the door, he started thinking about what he was going to do to make money today. He decided that he was going to walk around the village for a while, wondering what he would find out, maybe he would find out something interesting about where he could find some money.
While Taichi walked through the village, he saw many different bandits, which after the last few days, they tended to stay away from Taichi much more often than they used to. He spoke to a few black market merchants that happened to be in town that day. When he spoke to them, they all had spoken about the same house on the borders of Wind Country. This house had quite a few guards, but nothing that was too much for a missing nin worth his salt. Taichi was very curious about this house, he decided that he was going to go and check it out.
Taichi had been spending much of his time practicing his techniques, mostly focusing on his ninjutsu and more specifically, his fire release techniques. He had learned two very powerful Fire Release techniques very recently. He learned Great Fire Annihilation and the Hiding in Ash technique. Both techniques he had already used successfully against bands of bandits and in training sessions. Both techniques were extremely lethal and power, not to mention the range that each technique was massive and could clear out large regions of forests if needed. The Ash technique was an extremely power technique that had both offensive and defensive uses.
But the newest bit of development that Taichi had been working on, has been Genjutsu. He knew that his Dojutsu, the Sharingan, it is feared throughout the world due to its natural affinity towards Optical Genjutsu, he figured it would show to be useful sooner or later. He walked through the village, getting himself mentally prepared to hit the road for what could be a couple day trip. He was watching the sun as it rose farther into the sky when he decided that he may have just found a use for his Genjutsu. He was going to use his genjutsu to find out just where the money stash may be. Taichi was excited, he was going to use his new technique and make some money at the same time.
He began heading back to his home so he could get all of his things ready for the trip, when he thought about what he was going to do with his Sharingan Genjutsu. He had never really tortured someone before, but he knew that sooner or later he was going to have to come to grips with the actual act of torture. As a missing ninja, that was going to be something he would have to do. As he thought of this step into the dark path, he was noticing that before the destruction of Suna, he was a bright eyed naive ninja. His dream mainly consisted of either joining the higher rankings of the village, becoming their elite ninja to become a tool that would be used in the worst of wars to turn the tide of battle. He had even dreamed of becoming the Kazekage of the village. He had realized just how far he fell when he had lost everything on that night. He lost his confidence, his soon to be wife and family, and all dreams had come to an end with the screams of his now dead fiance as the punctuation.
While the anger may have grown in his body and mind, he did his best to calm down. He didn’t like what he had become, not completely, but he knew that it was all worth it to become a powerful ninja that was someone to be feared. He wanted the mere mention of his name be enough for all of the Kage in the land quiver in fear. Knowing that at his level, he had a long way to go, he was ready to do whatever was called for him to accomplish this dream. He will lie along the way, torture, and kill. He didn’t care what it meant, he was going to push himself day after day, trying to get stronger and more powerful.
Taichi reached his house and walked through the front door. He brought the backpack that was in his bedroom and he opened it. He made sure that it was empty so he could begin to fill it up with all of the things that he was going to need on the trip to the mark’s home. He made sure to grab his fire starter, but then he quickly realized that that was something he was not going to need anymore, now he could just start a fire with his own chakra. He put the firestarter in the trash and he moved on to his bedroom, gathering all the clothes that he was going to need. He grabbed his black sleeveless vest. He was going to try and be a little more stealthy and the black would do a little better than blue in the middle of a desert, at least at night. He grabbed his boots and put his sandals back into the drawer, he was going to try a stealthier approach, so the clacking of the sandals were most likely not going to be very conducive to his contract’s success. Taichi laid out all of his things onto the bed to check and make sure that everything he needed was going to be in tip top shape for whatever battle he may get into. Once he was happy with the quality of gear he had, he was out the door and headed for the border of Wind Country.
He walked for what seemed like hours and he noticed that the sun was beginning to go down, so he knew that it had been a few hours since he left the village. He continued to check the horizons to ensure that he was not being followed to this point, the scuffle with the stranger and the bandits was still fresh in his mind and he was being sure to check all of the possible routes to his locations and coming up with counter attacks as he walked. He was getting close to the mark’s location if the intel he received as correct. The area he was in was torn between two different types of terrain, there was the desert of the wind country, then there was the forested terrain that was the land of river. Taichi didn’t really love the desert, so getting to be able to see a different terrain was very much appreciated.
Taichi continued down the road when he began to see small points on the horizon. He was hopeful that these would be the houses that he was looking for. As he got closer to the tips on the horizon, he did begin to see the rest of the houses. The size of the houses were not massive, but they were larger than most of the houses in Suna, so he was sure they were going to have some money. As he neared the houses. He saw one that matched the description that he was given, when he got the intel on the mark’s location. He walked up to the house and he noticed that it had guards on the outside. He didn’t want to get into a fight with a bunch of people, so Taichi decided to go about this in a stealthy manner. Much like he had thought before leaving Suna.He waited until night had fallen completely to have a better chance of keeping his presence a secret among the premises.
As darkness fell, the guards changed. Taichi watched as the old guards began to walk home. He thought that if anyone knew where the treasure that he sought would be, it would be them. He snuck behind one of the guards and sent a knee directly for the back of his head. Taichi then grabbed the guard and he drug him away into a more secluded area that was free from any bystanders. When he was done dragging the guard there, he laid him down and tied him up, ensuring he wouldn’t be able to run away. The guard had woken up shortly thereafter, this was when the interrogation began.
“Who the hell are you?” The guard yelled to Taichi.
“I would keep my voice down if I were you.” Taichi responded to the guard.
“I don’t take-” The guard began to speak, but was cut off by Taichi’s genjutsu he had initiated onto the guard with his Sharingan.
The guard was living a fear that Taichi had conjured up in the guard’s mind. The guard began squirming, then slamming his head into the ground. Taichi grinned as he watched his own work unfold into a marvelous work of art that was going to soon, bring in a good amount of bank. Taichi ended the genjutsu and the guard began to break down into tears, filling his face with tears and making himself look terrible. Taichi walked over to the guard, crouched down directly in front of him and told him.
“Tell me where the money is in that house. Tell me now, or this will only get worse for you.”
The guard at first resisted. But then quickly relented when Taichi reactivated his Sharingan. He began to babble.
“Okay! Okay. The money is in the master bedroom. That is upstairs on the West side of the building, the third room from the end.”
Taichi wanted to ensure that he was telling the truth, so just before leaving. He activates his Sharingan and placed him under an even more twisted Genjutsu. He walked away and let the guard go through his mental torture by himself. As he walked away, the guard’s screams became louder and louder. He screams turned into moans, then back to screams as the genjutsu continued to toy with his mind.
Taichi had all the info he needed, so he headed back to the house and was ready to get all the bank that he could bring in from this job. He walked up the wall, it still being night time, he had a decent cover by nightfall. He went to the room that the guard had said is where the treasure was in. He saw the window was unlocked, he opened the window slowly, as to not draw any attention, he got inside and he began looking for a place that he could have hid the money. He had his Sharingan activated, being sure that it would help in any type of confrontation that may arise to meet him. He checked the closet and moved all of the clothes, just like he did at the crime boss’ house in Suna. This mark’s money was not nearly as well cloaked as the crime boss. The money was sitting on a shelf in the back of the closet, out there for the world to see. Taichi grabbed the money and quickly leapt out the window, he could hear footsteps coming up the stairs and didn’t want to deal with any confrontation that could have come with the person coming through the door. Taichi put the money, and after counting it, he put it in his backpack for safe keeping for the trip back to Suna.
