Save the leftovers

The loner was feeling quite exhausted after his time working in the kitchens at the elderly home. He had cooked almost fifty pounds of vegetables, the whole time he was standing directly above the flames of the hot stove and the piping hot oil that he was cooking the vegetables in. He was asked to leave so they would be able to do the clean up processes. Hamako nodded and as he was about to leave, he noticed that there was a sack of cut up food, food that was trash because of leftovers. While it wasn’t a whole lot, it would have been enough to feed someone’s pets, so he decided that he was going to ask if he would be allowed to take it with him.
He walked up to the head cook and he asked if he would be allowed to take the sack of food with him instead of letting it get thrown out to be a huge waste. The cook looked at Hamako and said that he would be allowed to, only on one condition. When Hamako asked him what that condition was, he would help the wait staff clean up the dining room area. Hamako nodded his head as he put on some gloves and walked out into the dining room.
When he entered the dining room, there was a couple inside already and they all looked at him wondering what he was doing in there. His face went from pale white, to a blush red when he noticed the people were all staring at him. He did his best to speak, but the pressure was proving to be a lot for him, “H-Hell-o……Can I h-help?” He hated their looks, all he could feel was their eyes staring at him, weighing on him like cannon balls strapped to his feet.
The people in the dining room must have noticed that Hamako wa a nervous mess around people because they all began to talk to him like he was a victim, which he didn’t like any more, but at least they weren’t staring at him. They gave him a few tasks to perform and wheh he finished them, he went back into the kitchen to tell the head cook that he had finished performing the clean up work. The cook nodded and motioned for Hamako to take the bag of food.
He walked out of the elderly home and as he walked out of the door, he ran into a child who was looking through the dumpster behind him looking for food. Hamako asked what the child was looking for. The child responded he was hoping to find some food for the former Mizukage’s dogs. Hamako thought the former Mizukage was dead, but who was he to argue. He nodded and handed the child the sack of food. The boy eagerly accepted and thanked Hamako again and again before he continued to jog down the street. Now that the light was almost completely gone, he was going to need to hurry if he wanted his path to be lit on the way.
Hamako continued going down the road in the opposite direction, hoping to get to the market before the next morning.
