Kozai reviewed the material that a survey team had brought back from the land of stone. His homeland, as it turned out. Kozai hadn't returned there in years, though it certainly felt like longer. The memories of his time there felt like a distant dream, now. H examined one of the rocks they'd brought back. Surveying for mining operations wasn't exactly his thing, but these rocks were from an area familiar to him. How long ago had it been, now, since he'd relaxed in the mountainous regions with Arcanis? What would Agito say if they were to meet now? The victim of Kozai's frosty cruelty would castigate him, no doubt.
He examined another one, this one with streaks and what appeared to be small pieces of crystal. The Iwagakure lifestyle had always been about being like a rock, but in Kozai's time the village had been mostly ruled by a foreigner, one whose personality was more in line with Konoha's Will of Fire. Kozai found both to be annoying, despite Echo's friendship and mentorship. Come to think of it, there hadn't been many others of note within the village that he could remember, now. That girl with the bizarre hair, but that was something he wanted to forget. The man who had fired the first shot at the confrontation with Maku? Kozai had seen him briefly at an assembly, but outside of that he'd never met him.
Kozai signed off on a form, then sent the batch of rocks to the Council with his recommendation. It had been a tiring day, and he had no desire to waste more time with oddly painful memories.
