Kenshin was an enigma Ayato could never figure out. This person, one of those who helped clean the Land of Haven of filthy contaminated degenerates known as Jaws of Grima and establish Hoshi as one of the Great Villages, had turned his cloak and fled to Suna. Kenshin’s record had always been impeachable. The man had always been bad news for anyone pitted against him in a fight. Also, it seemed he had figured out how to bathe and not dress anymore like like a peasant living under a bridge. Better late than ever, Ayato figured.
Ayato would deal with him later, as another matter entirely seemed to be the opening for this meeting. One that concerned this Byakugan heir's village of origin. The one he was born and raised for the first years of his noble life. Before being shipped off to Hoshi as a ward of Akihana Akari. As it happened, it was the Ragdoll’s ancestral home, too, for the most part. His blood descended from a clan who were not from Konoha originally but from that of Uzushiogakure. Then again, the Kenshin could be some baseborn filth who came up with the name after looking at a blade and the last name of Naruto.
As Ayato rested his noble back on the chair made of dark oak, he tried to search for a serious posture. His lord father’s stance. Placing the rectangular hat at the table in front of him, both hands would rest underneath it, his left thumb rubbing the soreness of his inner right wrist. This was what the desert was missing, a nifty spot to relax.
The woman had revealed herself to be the Lord Kazekage, Ayato had written back to. She sat on the chair opposite of him. Those white eyes of his watched in excitement, and later to what uncomfortably felt like a relief when she had ended up addressing the man sitting to his left, two meters away. The disinterested one. She was the vanguard in this meeting for the Hokage, it seemed.
“A warrior princess in the frontlines, this Kazekage. Not the kind of woman to wait in a tower for a prince to save her.”
And once the first wave of attack against the Mizukage was well and done, it was the Hokage's turn to take up arms. Of course, he had to do with a death stare filled with killing intent. Followed up by a beautiful, very inspiring motivational speech of the will of fire. Ayato had wished it didn’t take him what felt like two hours to finish. Say more with fewer words was something this particular Hyuuga Prince would not see much of today.
Ayato thought that one was the most dangerous in the room, save himself, of course. Because the Raikage’s eyes betrayed nothing, so it came as a surprise when the Raikage, one leading the village who only a couple of years ago was feared as the Kumogakure empire, agreed that the vassal ruling of Konoha seemed unjust.
Initially, Ayato had looked south and dreamed of returning and restoring Konoha and his clan into its former glory. In his childhood years, Ayato believed in a hero who would save the world. Him perhaps. As years went by, Ayato began to focus more on Hoshi, the village he started his own clan in and today was leading. Seeing all this today removes any shred of a doubt. He hadn’t made the correct decision.
Then it was the Mizukage’s turn. And he was nothing liked the reports said of the Leviathan, this Xyxer Gyojin, the one who ruled with one hand open for fealty and the other clutched around a weapon. The same one who had strong-armed that traitorous scumbag Valen Akari into killing one of our own shinobi. An innocent man -whose bones Ayato was going to get back- named Kotetsu. The shinobi world was better without abominations like Xyxer and Valen.
In truth, the current Mizukage, disinterested as he was, could have coasted in peace and tranquility for thereafter, His major mistake not just falling in line, doing what a leader is supposedly good at — negotiating — and getting into “office politics” with the rest of the people present. Ayato considered if he should address each person in the room separately before addressing the elephant in it. But not cutting to the chase instead of keeping up with easy mannerisms and flattery wasn't the Byakugan's heir way.
“Lord Mizukage, you could have paid respect to the Hokage’s demand and keep collecting your own village income for perpetuity. Why stir up drama with demands bound to be shut down?”
In truth, the perceptive Hyuuga believed he understood why. To accepts such demand now, after the humiliation of being attacked in this meeting by three of the Kage present, would be viewed as a showcase of weakness. This is why he refused help from Hokage and Kazekage. Saying yes would have accomplished the original goal of this event, which was peace. The Mizukage’s nonsense demands were, by all indications, a mistake made out of greed, lack of foresight, and the belief that inferior minds shouldn’t hold down his own power if he were single-handedly ruling two villages by himself.
“Weaponizing one’s past against them, as good as a strategy it might sound, I’m afraid it won’t find any success here. Lord Kazekage, whose charm you are admirably immune to, wouldn’t have gone as far as to summon us in the middle of the desert if their endorsement of the Hokage was not absolute.”
Recognizing any hints of truth would mean returning to the hand-holding, the coddling, the hate-inducing, and overwhelmingly condescending mediocrity of a former life of Hoshi shinobi not too long ago. Taking the side who caused so much trouble for Hoshigakure in the past is to admit defeat, to say with definitive cowardice that he cannot succeed as its leader.
“ If you force yourself out of this summit, then it is highly likely next time you meet, the people in this room will be as sworn enemies on the field of battle.” Ayato wanted to add how this might lead to countless young men and women to their bloody deaths, all for the sake of this valor and glory this Leader of the Mist had inherited from his predecessor.
“Lord Mizukage, letting go of your power and pride might be difficult. But quitting while you are still ahead is not the same as admitting defeat."

The expression of impassivity would hold over her face through-out the entirety of the following events - each Kage chiming in them as they saw fit with their own anecdotes. Starting with the hand off to the Hokage; of whom was glaring with open hostility at the Mizukage. She would close her eyes in frustration for a few moments as she quickly realized that she had handed a well balanced argument - holding emotion and logic at a homeostasis - over to an overly passionate man with too much to say and no time to prepare it. When was she going to realize that not everyone had the same outward emotional control as she did, but nonetheless the man was as much involved and had as much warning as the Mizukage had; Their words wouldn’t have come across as genuine had they any warning.
Where she had been concise and thorough he was bringing too many emotional points into a highly political sphere and she could feel the finish line being pulled further from her grasp the longer he went on - but she made no move nor expression to stop him. Instead she sat with perfect posture, having drawn her hands back onto her lap to idly tap out the most steady heart beat in the room to allow herself a baseline as she spied on the inner workings of those around her. An unavoidable tell unless you actively knew someone was listening in, or you were actually a sociopath who believed with full confidence in your own words. She stared with unchanging expression as the words continued to spill from the Hokages mouth - phrases that took her initial standings further than she intended, calling the Mizukage a tyrant was giving him far too much credit honestly - a seedy loan shark perhaps.
Though the game really started to heat up at the Hokages last statement, or rather declaration, that if the settlement was not agreed upon in these walls then ancestral ways would be the last play to be made. This statement had finally brought a raised eyebrow out of the Kazekage as she stared at the Hokage that so relied on the military might of her village that hearing him make such decisions of her own people left a bitter taste in the back of her throat. No… let's not forget who is backing who in this scenario. The moment passed as he sat down and her eyes flicked over to her immediate left, the sudden uptick in heartbeat calling her attention as the initial spike of nerves that public speaking brought, hit the Raikage. His speech was more of a parrot to the sentiment already brought to light and simply brought the affirmation that a settlement in these walls would be more preferred than anything of bloodier nature.
She ran her tongue slowly over her teeth as she started to realize the trajectory of understanding the room was following - and trouble was rising… and it came in the form of the Mizukage. With his initial statements she knew with positivity that all those in attendance had grossly misunderstood her intentions - Giving up? Whims of leaders? Peace?! - The very notions made her want to laugh but she held firm, even when the man laid out his only hand on the table like the amateur gambler he was. To ask for secret techniques from the village of Konoha would be a logical and just claim, especially given the fact that if the man didn’t have the techniques already it showed further how much of a waste his ruling over another country was. That, would have been reasonable, but to throw down your best chips so early was just… boring. Of course following his big reveal came personal attacks on Wan, as if taking a jab so low wasn’t also showing the level of maturity that the lancer held; What was that old adage again...something about a pot calling the kettle black?
During the entirety of his speech her eyes were held directly over his chest, focusing intently on the steadily rising heartrate of a man at stress. With a tongue that sharp you would think his heart would share the sentiment.. Kazekage, you say you care for world peace, this line broke her mask for a moment as a sardonic smile cracked her façade before fading into a polite expression of intense listening. Surprisingly as the Mizukage sat back in his seat, sneer only barely disguised by the veil, the silent Hogokage finally spoke with some of the most direct words spoken thus far, words that sounded closer to advice rather than arguments against the man or his actions - playing just past middle ground.
Over the course of the Hogokage's additions she had begun to gather her thoughts into as direct and clear a message as she could - since the first attempt fell off the rails so quickly. Once the man was finished she nodded in acknowledgement of all who had spoke before raising her eyes to stare with an expression of pure disappointment at the Mizukage, “Allow me to clarify a few things for you, Mizukage, as I’m sure the veil you wear has impeded your ability to hear. Not once did I state I wanted world peace nor did I ever claim to expect Konoha to be released without a price. Consider listening to understand rather than listening to respond, maybe then the words you say will be worth hearing.” as she continued, a true smile would blossom over her lips, the expression turning from disappointment to mischief. “My price would have been reasonable, but you’re a gambling man and you went all in on your first hand. We all know that your “offer”, was laughable at best and that you hoped my drive for “world peace” would back us into a corner. No. My concern is for the young moldable lives you are so ready to gamble with for the sake of your ego - I hear you, lot at stake here, what Kage could return to their village having conceded to a few well constructed arguments with any dignity.”
She was leaning forward on her elbows now, propped against the tabletop - an unfamiliar glint of sadistic intent flickering at the back of her eyes. “So here's the offer - forget your village forces, leave the fodder out of this - Fight to the death with the Hokage, Lord Mizukage. Settle this in the most pure form. If you choose not to accept then you will be escorted out of my village with insured safety to my gates, your travel home is on you and your guard. If these terms are accepted we can set a date and settle this once and for all.” Her eyebrows would raise with a look of concern as she leaned back away from the table and back against her chair, “Unless you rely on those in your village to do all the heavy lifting for you?”

Re: New World Kage Summit

There were many things that Kisergai had heard, listened and even comprehended from the round of responses from each Kage. From the Kazekage he could understand the issue that was put on the table and where she (and her village) had stood. The passion of the young Hokage could be felt albeit there was a lack of tact in his words, his meaning was receptive and even heard. The Hogokage's sentiment and worse came with some wisdom and of course a neutral standpoint. It was however when he heard the words of the Mizukage that the mental gears had begun to grind to a halt...and the proverbial hamster had left the building. The amber eyes of the Raikage remained on the Mizukage, searching for any form of sarcasm, even the smallest of morsels of a joke. Where he tried to find one he would find none and quite honestly it was at this point that he was done. He would of course wait quietly, even patiently to listen to the demands of the Mizukage and that was fine. It was when the man had flashed the trademark eyes of the Uchiha to all of the table. Now to many that would probably not bother them, but as a pureborn Uchiha this was a mistake especially considering the fact that he pilfered them from someone. Whether or not the original owner of those eyes was an Uchiha or not was neither here nor there, it was the fact that this man so proudly and brazenly flashed them in front of him. As if on cue his hand clenched the sword that the Mizukage so boldly claimed to have wanted, his amber eyes turning a deep shade of crimson revealing his own, natural three tomoe sharingan. As he finished and many others that spoke before the Raikage, his anger turned to amusement as a small chuckle escaped his lips. His posture relaxed as the sword slowly pressed against the arm that had been holding it as if he was merely letting it rest, it wouldn't see battle today nor would it be leaving its current master. With that he would clear his throat to speak, looking at the Mizukage with his now amber eyes instead of his sharingan.
" A man who thinks he holds all of the cards demands something from each village in return for one being set free.. It seems the boldness of your predecessor flows strongly through you but you see in a game of chess or even shogi one does not think they are three steps ahead without knowing for certain and you sir? Have just made a fool out of yourself. I don't think you understand what non-negotiable means in a sense. While you might have Konoha in your palms, what stops them from...just killing every messenger you send to collect? Or cutting off your so called money? You see in the world of business when one thinks they hold the cards, they really hold nothing. I find it amusing honestly that you think anyone would give into your demands when the answer is simple. Lord Kazekage has given you an honorable out...though given your less than honorable methods here currently, I don't really think you'd be man enough to stand up for it. Kumogakure doesn't negotiate with tyrants nor do we find it favorable to play into such a shallow request. So if a death battle is what it takes to set Konoha free? So be it. I wouldn't mind seeing one of you die for your ideals. Especially since you seem so keen to flash someone's eyes to their leader," he'd make it plain that at this point he did not care what would happen...he was not going to give into the demands of Kiri and more importantly...he was pushing to see whether or not they would take the challenge.

Re: New World Kage Summit
Fri Dec 18, 2020 3:10 am
After the Mizukage had said his piece, he leaned back into his seat in order to relax himself. He was a bit excited at these turn of events and was slightly hoping for some kind of conflict. After all, he was quite confident his nation could hold its own against any other threat the world had to offer. But that was enough for his own amusement. Hopefully, they realized the weight of the request they had asked him for, for free no less. As he pondered to himself slightly, the Hogokage seems to have finally joined in on the summit festivities. It seems he too, thought he should simply give into the demands of the Hokage without some sort of compensation. He wonders just how daft most of these leaders were when it came to negotiations. Then again, it seems the Hogokage has been held captive by the charms of the Kazekage that he thinks may or may not be clouding his judgement at the moment. He was surely hoping he was thinking with his brain instead of with his other 'head'. As pretty as the Hogokage might think she is, the Mizukage still thinks his own wife was still pretty high up in regards to the standard of beauty.
Listening to the rest of what the other Kages had said, the Mizukage simply rolled his eyes and figured he wouldn't get too far with these types of people. He would however give his opinion on the matter. "Why should I pay respects to demands that don't benefit me or my nation, Hogokage? What do I owe those people? You're saying weaponizing somebody's past is a good strategy as if I hadn't stated truth on the matter that a masterless vagabond didn't wander in, murder my vassal and you think I should all of a sudden give into his demands because he said so out of respect? Alright, how about this, if I went to your nation and murdered your current deputy Kage or future deputy Kage, do you think you should give me a reward or a punishment? Just because the Kazekage has decided to side with this criminal doesn't mean I shall do the same. If I am 'forced' out this summit, it just means I couldn't be coerced into giving up what is rightfully Kirigakure's spoil of war. If it comes to war in the future, I'm not adverse to it. It would be amusing to see how most of you fare in battle as well as pitting myself against the other leaders of this world."
This was his response to the Hogokage before turning his gaze back to the Kazekage who seems to think because the rest of the Kage were guests in her village, that she would call the shots of how things played out. It was amusing to let the woman play 'Queen' but even he had enough when she went from careless demands to petty remarks. The Mizukage would respond to her in kind as well with hostility. "Listen woman, I don't know about the rest of these fools who would like to think themselves as leaders but I'm not going to dance to your tune. You used words like 'blood filled world', meeting fleeing villagers from Konoha and leaving a nation to die but you claim you don't care about world peace just because it hasn't directly left your lips but here you are trying to spearhead a discussion about matters that do not concern you nor does it fall under your general interest. You're giving mixed signals and implications here, state whether you care or not about the lands that aren't your own to govern. I'm tired of your mixed signals. You also claim you wouldn't have demanded the release of Konoha for free yet you've put no offer on the table in order to sweeten the pot for me."
Clearing his throat, the Mizukage had continued, "My 'offer' was nothing more than a mirrored reflection of the weight of stupidity the demands you and this, 'Hokage', have given me, if you haven't realized it just yet. Is this your first time negotiating with other human beings or are you just the wind country's pinup girl making a feeble attempt at trying to woo and sway the other leaders to your whims? If the real Kazekage is present, could they please stand up? Please, stand up. On another note, who are you giving deals and offers to me of all people, last I checked, your offer still gives me nothing that I would benefit from. You think me a fool to just fight the Hokage to the death for no gain? If he truly cared for the release of the Konoha, he would have simply sent me a letter or came to Kiri to negotiate the terms one on one instead of hide behind the others. I cannot BELIEVE he so easily accepted these conditions. It would have been reasonable if you had allied with them in order to take down Kiri but to have you put on show for them, the mere thought of this is wild. So foolish. But now, I have a better idea. Since you seem to care so much, why don't YOU fight me to the death for the release of Konoha. if you win, obviously, Konoha is free to go since I wouldn't say in the matter, heh, heh. But if I win, Sunagakure becomes a territory of Kirigakure. Put your money where your mouth is and all that. Your wit is sharp, let's hope your blade is sharper. What do you say?"
The Mizukage had said, attempting to bait the woman into mortal combat with him. He wasn't much of a public speaker himself but even he can tell when somebody was attempting to try and make a fool out of him. With that, he's said all he needed to say to the Kazekage. The Mizukage then turned his attention towards the man calling himself Hokage. All he could do was shake his head in disappointment as he threw himself at the mercy of the Kazekage and used the illusion of freedom for 'his' nation to make him more like a reputable man. If he truly wanted freedom, antagonizing the person who makes the final decision wasn't the way to do it. All he saw was vermin standing in front of him and if this setup happened any other way, the Mizukage might have considered the deathmatch. Lastly, there was the Raikage who seemed neutral about all this. He didn't have any ill will towards him as he doesn't seem to openly be against him other than to his 'condition' to free Konoha. However, the Mizukage did smile at one little fact they all seemed to misunderstand. He did hold all the cards. He turned towards him with a rather sinister smile.
"You seem to be mistaken about something, Raikage. I don't think I hold all the cards in my hand, I KNOW I hold all the cards in my hand. You've all demanded something unreasonable from me, I've returned the favor in kind. If you still can't see the folly of the terms of 'negotiation' that is being provided here, I pity you. Tell me, what do you think, is stopping them from killing off my messengers and collectors? Fear. Fear that a second war will occur where every individual who refuses to pay would be hunted down and used as an example as to what happens to those who would resist. Fortunately, I'm not so crass as to do such a thing in hopes somebody will take it off my hands for a reasonable price; but of course if a rebellion were to be mounted, I'd have no qualms about squashing it. The Kazekage hasn't given me anything but an insult and tried to schedule two men to fight without even chances of gain, so once again, I've given a demand equal to what I feel I've been given." The Mizukage had said before his smile disappeared. It seems so far, they're off to a good start which is what ran through his mind as a joke. He didn't expect it to be this frustrating but alas, it was. Hopefully, they could actually get somewhere or he'd feel like he wasted his time coming here.

Re: New World Kage Summit

“This squabbling will not serve. You see, good sir; I don’t answer to imaginary scenarios about my village that have a very slight possibility of occurring. We are talking about a genuine thing here.” The man who was the Lord of Hyuuga and 7th Hogokage of the Stars responded. In the first years of his life, he was a political hostage of Hoshi sent there by Konoha as a goodwill gesture. However, life was full of surprises, so this particular Hyuuga rose to be the leader of what once was his village of imprisonment.
Ayato Hyuuga rubbed at his thin lips. “You seem to be entirely offended by Hokage’s disrespect of not parlaying with your esteemed presence. Only to proclaim the next moment you had killed the last emissary from Konoha that requested an audience with you. Taking their eyes after. The ones you went to exhibit with quite the presentation. Much to Lord Raikage’s understandable eerie. That would make anyone wary of meeting with you. “
These days, you cannot have a Kage Summit without a Sharingan or two getting activated. Those Uchiha never change. The eyes of that clan of theirs were spice that brought the flavor of this world out for the rest of the ninja to enjoy. Ayato believed his own Byakugan was superior until proven otherwise. Unlike those who based their life and abilities on top of personal tragedy or genetic superiority, the Hyuuga Clan, who was thousands of years old, did it through hard work.
“Lord Mizukage, if you mean to disassociate yourself from those who you perceive as missing-nin, then perhaps you might want to consider not acting exactly like one as well.“ This was the negotiation table between the men and women who made the top of the food chain atop the shinobi world. Meetings of that level usually highlighted the weakness of its participants. Not weakness in the traditional sense, but more so little patience for this verbal sparring, the fight with words. The way of the sword might have been, perhaps, their better profession. Ayato could not speak of the exact battle prowess, but this Hyuuga could immediately tell that every individual could handle themselves in a fight. It took one fighter to know another.
Maybe he would find out. The Kazekage offered for the Mizukage and The Hokage to settle their differences in single combat. Her way was the old way, it seemed. The practical way in this case too. Many young men and women would perish if a war were to come. This was an opportunity to save them from such fate if the challenge. A challenge that this particular Hokage was keen on accepting. Will of Fire speech and the like yes. Ayato hadn’t heard about the last two minutes and was beginning to miss it. These people. Only if they could do it with fewer lines of dialogue, it would be far more pleasant.
“There is no doubt that the entire shinobi world would love to see you battle at an open field while at the same time you argue about your ideologies, " Ayato said in response to the Hokage's proclamation, only to be cut short by the Armored Shadow’s denial. Though perhaps that was a blessing in disguise, had the Mizukage accepted, then these two might have tried to talk to each other to death.
It was not the first time today that the armadillo owner had hinted at a desire to get the meeting over and done with. A strong proclamation was made—all the cards in my hand. However, the thing about power resides only where others think it lives. It was safe to assume that the Mizukage was not convincing anyone it was residing with him.
If the Armored Shadow was correct, they had replaced his man with one of their own. Then his presence here would be of no necessity. They could proceed without him. This meeting was the opportunity to wrestle back control of Konoha in his favor. Without any unnecessary bloodshed. Instead, he had introduced himself and then proceeded to disregard their case, trying to talk himself out of the negotiations. The Hyuuga understood what would follow next. Another nonsense demand.
When it was done, Ayato would speak again. Hopefully, making it in time to defuse the situation before it spiraled out of control. "A few men long for conflict. Your predecessor, whose spoils of war you are so eager to enjoy, was known to be the same. Last I heard, his army was defeated by that man, sitting behind the Lord Kazekage you are so eager to fight instead...right outside these very walls. ” It would be somewhat poetic, for a new conflict to begin, in the very same spot that the previous one had ended. If Lord Mizukage were eager to follow Xyxer Gyojin, he would meet no resistance from Ayato. Giving credit to Kenshin publicly hurt more than he had expected. But if he did not, it would be a lie.
“An observation would be that it does not sound very respectful to address Lord Kazekage by her gender. For somebody who believes they are so diplomatically savvy, you should know this is not how one wearing the Kage Mantle is supposed to act.” Ayato was not going to let Mizukage off the hook that easily for doing that. One would only need to open a history book of the shinobi world to read of Tsunade, Mei Terumi, Hinata, and Hanabi Hyuuga of Ayato’s clan women that did a just as good -if not better- job than men, in usually male-dominated roles.
“Now unless Lord Kazekage here is under a Genjutsu that would somehow make her accept your request then…” The taijutsu expert would revert to his earlier tone. From a very young age, the manner drilled to him to deal with the living and working within the subterfuge and perils of noble courts. Clearly, he would still need a lot more of it today. That and patience. Lots and lots of patience.
“I do believe your presence is no longer required here, Lord Mizukage. Thank you for your time, and allow me to be the first to bid you farewell until we see each other again.”

Re: New World Kage Summit
Sun Dec 27, 2020 10:32 pm
Her offer was immediately met with acceptance from the man sat on her right - another emotional declaration as expected but, when someone’s home is on the line one would expect some emotion to surface. Still with her back pressed into the mahogany chair she would return Wan’s gaze with a side version of her own in acknowledgment; but truth be told she had a feeling he was going to be the willing party, from their interactions before this day she could tell he had more of a soft spot for the people of Konoha than he wanted to let on. A man made to lead a village he wasn’t born to, filled with passion and altruism to degrees even he might not understand yet. The Raikage on her left had had his own interesting reaction, it was getting rather difficult to tell the difference between heartbeats with this many people in a room - all of which were rising in either anger or excitement respectfully - but the way he gripped the hilt of the weapon that was requested led her to believe the man was soon to double down on a rejection. Kumo doesn’t negotiate with tyrants, that’s an interesting choice of words, more aggressive than she would have chosen for the setting, but it had some footing.
Seemed everyone was having some sort of emotional reaction save the Mizukage - which only made his reactions more fascinating honestly - this whole time he has come across… bored and even put on upon, as though this conversation was beneath him. The quick motion of eyerolling caught her eye as the man in question first addressed the Hogokage directly - a hypothetical scenario laced with several seemingly rhetorical questions - the first sign of exasperation. Her face had reverted back to it’s mask-like expression as she listened with more respect that he deserved - at least far less than he showed anyone else in this room save himself. Siding with criminals.. How out of touch was this man? Had he no idea how many of those who sat in this very room could be labeled as such. The man continued on though and this time was fully directing it at her - ‘Woman’ as if stripping her of title and basing her down to gender was meant to hurt. Oh and that wasn’t all, it seemed it was time to pick apart her words even further. Correct, why would I put up an offer when one given is so out of the realm of possibility that it tells everyone here how level headed you aren’t. He wasn’t finished though and she made sure to remain unmoved so as not to disturb the heated flow he was on. A pinup girl, how quaint and.. specific, hmm wonder if that's what he’s used to in Kiri, cultures are so interesting. Oh, and now I’m not even the Kazekage at all, hmm for a man with so much to say you’d think he’d realize when he’s repeating himself… or is it a speech impediment.
It took everything in Mizuki to hold back the laughter that was dying to burst - this was just brilliant - the stoic façade was cracked; Irritation is a hell of a motivator. While this was never going to end in agreement she would at least hand it to him for making it interesting; Refusing to go against the man who killed your place holder in Konoha but instead directing your sights on little ol’ me. Tranquil would be the most apt way of describing the expression that was settled on her face as the man went in for a third dig. For a man who so brazenly flashed the eyes of a deceased Konoha nin to then sit there and claim himself ‘not crass’ had to have been her favorite sentence uttered thus far - but he chose to top himself only seconds later. If a rebellion were to be mounted… this is why you have someone placed in Konoha as an informant at the very least; a rebellion has been building under your nose and you have been so flagrantly blind you don’t even smell the stench when it's sat directly across from you - and your opportunity to squash it? You just threw it away in an attempt to put me back in my place. Short sighted aren’t you.
All it took was a shift of her eyes to adjust her attention to the Hogokage who was ready to weigh in once more - the only change in posture Mizuki would show was the slight tilt of her head as his spoken words echoed her internal thoughts. Every comment or remark she could have said he did it with a detached elegance that she found herself admiring - not cold as she used to be in her years before Sunagakure, but it still held an edge that came from some sort of trauma. Being spoken for was something Mizuki disliked deeply, but this occasion was an exception, he nearly took the words from her mouth as he pronounced the Mizukage’s presence no longer required. If anything was clear from this short but excruciatingly drawn out exchange, the Mizukage was certainly a few things - Impatient, Assuming, Inattentive, Fickle, and Crass. It takes one to know one though so it only made sense the two butt heads so thoroughly.
Folding her hands in lap she would slowly nod as she looked from the Hogokage to the Mizukage, the tranquil expression staying as she spoke in a tone unfazed by the obvious disrespect thrown at her multiple times. “The answer is no Mizukage, I have no reason to fight you yet. If you really wanted to squash your rebellion you would have taken the first match up and demanded something added to sweeten that pot, but you have a hard time seeing past your own nose. Lord First will be escorting you and your company to the gates personally to ensure your safety, I have a strong feeling this will only go in circles and I have other things to attend to. Safe travels Mizukage.” She would look over her shoulder to make eye contact with Kenshin; the look given to him and only him would tell him to use whatever means necessary. She would return her gaze to the man once Kenshin stood - watching as the group left- whatever fashion that be in; making a scene, cussing her out, maybe even with a shred of dignity by gathering himself and leaving without issue.
----------------------------
Once the group had left Mizuki would seem to brighten a bit, taking a short deep breath and giving a polite smile to those remaining. “Thank you all for maintaining civility, I know that wasn’t the most productive discussion, but I do hope we can finish this on a better note. To promote international relations I wanted to propose the idea of an intervillage Chuunin Exams with a bit of a twist. The traditional exams being proctored by a mix of participating villages’ higher ranked shinobi of the respective Kage’s choice. The twist would be for the individuals who wish to test themselves against neighboring shinobi of their class for prizes and prestige. This can be held at any village of choice and I want to make clear that whether you choose to participate or not does not alter the relationship Sunagakure has with your respective village.” Sitting forward a little to show she was wrapping up her words for the group, “Lastly, if the idea of the exams seems promising to you I wanted to propose a travel agreement. Using a passport system to allow safe travel, tourism and intervillage trading to help grow our civilians’ lives and shinobi’s experience.” As she allowed the offers to settle in their minds she would turn her face to Wan and address him more personally, though her voice wasn’t hushed to hide what she was saying.
“Wan, I’m sorry this didn’t go as you wanted, I didn’t intend for my words to be taken so out of context and had I chosen my words with more care at the start it may have turned the tides in a different direction. I cannot ask my people to lay their lives down for your country’s freedom, but I can offer you a secure place to ready yourselves for war. My walls are open to you and your villagers, I fear that being so far from your allies leaves you open to attack and truly I don’t know if we would be able to get there in time if you needed us. We can help train you, be your support, and when you deem your people ready - depart from the borders of Wind Country. It might be a longer trip by boat but you can cut through Tea Country, possibly even land at the point near the land of Iron. The choice is yours my friend.” She would reach out and grip his upper arm, leaning in a bit with a serious expression, “Don’t let me down.” Releasing his arm she would lean back, looking around to hear the thoughts of the group on her proposals.

Re: New World Kage Summit

Kenshin had been watching and listening quite intently the entire time, despite the fact that he hadn’t intervened yet, and it was for good reason that he hadn’t. Like it or not, he was still a Sunagakure shinobi, and if he were to intervene when the Mizukage went on his little tirade it would only make the meeting look biased against the man. Truthfully, that couldn’t be further from the truth… something that anyone with half a brain would realise, but apparently expecting that or more from any of the Kirigakure entourage had been expecting too much. It was amusing really, both the Raikage and Hogokage knew that the Mizukage just made a fool of himself, and in a matter of minutes all of the respect that Kirigakure had built under the reign of Xyxer had been lost… much like Hoshigakure in the last summit, with the actions of Valen. Really, if Sunagakure wanted Konoha there would be very little that the neutered village of Kirigakure could do to stop them from taking it, and this little chihuahua seemed to believe that he held all of the cards… it took all of his self control to stop himself from laughing in the face of the man. It seemed that the heavily armoured mutt misunderstood something very basic but also very important… they sat at the negotiation table not because they had to, but because they wanted to.
This was a fact that made all the difference, they were trying this in a peaceful way to spare lives and prevent unnecessary bloodshed, but that didn’t mean that they were about to let some unduly arrogant brat make stupid demands. Honestly… it was a very good thing for the foolish Mizukage that Mizuki was the one commanding Sunagakure… if he had remained in charge for this meeting it would have gone much worse for the headstrong fool. Hell, there was every chance that it would have ended with him personally travelling to Kiri at the head of an attack force… he was quite lucky really, because Mizuki was a lot less inclined to simply kill those that posed a problem… something that he considered himself quite good at. Heh… he was even luckier than he may have realised, because it was only Mizuki herself that was staying his hand right now… he held a great deal of respect for Mizuki, so much so that he had been willing to step down from the position of Kazekage in favour of her… because he knew she would be a better leader than he was. This child that stood in the shoes of The Leviathan… he was insulting not only Mizuki with his words, he was also insulting Kenshin… and the sheer audacity of what he was saying had The Ragdolls blood boiling with a fury he hadn’t felt in a very long time.
He was quite glad when Ayato spoke, and in a very diplomatic way told the man to fuck off… heh, The Hyuuga Scion had always been better suited for the diplomatic route than he was, and this only went to show that he had only grown more in the field since Kenshin had departed from their former village. The next to speak was Mizuki, who outright told him to expel the Mizukage from Sunagakure… although he was unfortunately tasked with ensuring their safety in the process. How… disappointing. Without a word The Reaper would softly push his chair out, allowing him to stand and gently brush his hands over his pants, before focussing his almost burning crimson eyes on the Mizukage
“It’s amusing really Mizukage… you call this man a criminal for killing your vassal and declaring himself the Hokage of Konoha… while at the same time referring to Konoha as your spoils of war. Your own words make his claim on the village valid, because this man did exactly what your predecessor did and took Konoha for himself. Did you forget that Konoha is not yours by right? Did you forget that you only have such a claim because your predecessor took the village by force? You are trying to refute the validity of his claim and call him a criminal for his actions… and yet here you are, unwilling to fight this criminal yourself.” The Reaper would say, chuckling lightly at the end, before continuing. If Kizmaru spoke, Kenshin would simply speak over him and continue.
“To me… you come off as little more than a scared child that is trying desperately to hide behind the ghost of your predecessor. Let me be the one to inform you boy… The Leviathan is no more, and you are little more than a pale shadow of what he was. You are trying so desperately to hold onto what he took without being willing to fight for it as he did… why is that? Are you so afraid of defeat and death that you will allow yourself to look so craven in front of the entire world? That you are willing to allow your people to fight and die so that you don't have to? You are only pushing for a full scale rebellion so that you can send your shinobi to fight in your place… so that you can hide behind someone else yet again. Tell me Mizukage… how exactly does it feel to need others to fight all your battles for you?” The Ragdoll would then ask, a small smirk on his face as he asked the rhetorical question. With that final piece said, Kenshin would turn to Mizuki and give a light bow, before walking to the doors of the chamber and opening them wide.
“Follow me Mizukage” The First Kazekage would say, waiting for the man and his guard to exit the chamber before closing the double doors behind them, and walking to the teleportation seal. Kenshin would gesture towards the correct seal, before activating it and allowing himself to be transported into the lobby of The Spire. The Ragdoll would take a couple of steps back and await the two mens appearance.
Provided they appeared, Kenshin would wordlessly begin to lead the duo towards the gates, walking at a reasonable pace and ensuring that neither of the duo got separated from him in the process. Once they reached the gates The Ragdoll would turn to face the duo.
“And here is where we part ways. Before you leave I will need you to return the Visitation Permits you received when you entered. You will have 1 week to leave Wind Country before you are considered to be hostile, and if you’re still here after that… well, I doubt I have to spell out what will happen.” The former Kazekage would explain in a somewhat bored and monotonous drawl, clearly not wanting to be here and holding no respect for the so called leader that stood before him.

Re: New World Kage Summit

And just as he had thought, his counter offer was declined which only served to make the current Mizukage chuckle under his veil. It was exactly as he thought, just as he wasn't keen on dancing to her tune, neither was she to his. Hopefully, they'd see the error in their ways on how they negotiate. Nevertheless, the Hogokage responded in a manner as if what he had just said was a fairytale, insinuating a man wasn't murdered in cold blood. Maybe one of these days, he'd pay Hoshi a visit in order to reenact what might have happened in Konoha and see if the man would truly reward him for what normal human beings considered a crime. "Well, I thought you might have had a reasonable head on your shoulder but it seems you too are a fool, Hogokage. No matter, I wasn't here for your opinion either way. If that's how you operate your village, so be it, in Kiri however, there's punishment for taking another man's life. You have the wrong opinion of me, I don't expect anybody in this room that is not one of my subjects to respect my presence nor do I expect anybody to blindly follow my demands. While I have no doubt people would love to see me on the battlefield, its not something I'd rather do every chance that rises. Unlike my predecessor, I'd like to consider my options more carefully than try to brute force my way through every situation, though I'm not adverse to doing that way if it comes down to it."
Chuckling quietly to himself, he continued to speak as the next part tickled him a little bit. "Respect? You expect me to "respect" somebody that has made demands of me and insulted me to my very face because they don't know the implications of their own words, laughable." The Mizukage's chuckling now only grew louder into more of a sinister snicker so the people present in the room may hear. "I'm done with this farce anyway, good day to the rest of you as well. Oh, one more thing, Kazekage, this isn't a rebellion. this is a usurper attempting to deceive all of you with some honeyed words. You'd be wise to pick who you make friends with in the future." With that, he had nothing left to say. getting up from his chair, he picked up his companion, Ram and placed him on his back, using the furnace from his armor as a seat to carry him around. The little armadillo put its claw in its mouth briefly, suckling it as a sign it was hungry again. He was to be escorted out by the former Kazekage out of this summit which seemingly had some words. It was no surprise he would be on the side of his current Kazekage, as he too might be blinded by physical appearance but who's to say. After the man had finished, the Mizukage simply rolled his eyes and responded in kind "Spare me your jeers, taunts and your disapproving opinions, former Kazekage. We both know what you want to say and your thoughts. You're as big an open book as the rest of these leaders. Instead of projecting your own personality upon myself of being a child, just show me the way out so I can be done with this, I doubt you have anything sensible worth saying other than parroting what the others might or might not have already said and childish opinions. I do find it interesting you think you might have defeated my predecessor however, I don't recall hearing anything like whatsoever. I'll keep that in mind but with a weak statement such as that, it might have just been you were lucky or the story was embellished."
The Mizukage tuned him out afterwards as he wasn't worth his time at the moment if that was all he could contribute to all that has transpired. He was only interested in the man's prowess in combat if he defeated Xyxer in combat, nothing more and nothing less. Afterwards, the former Kazekage had instructed him to follow him to which he had gladly done so if it got him out of this place sooner. He motioned to his bodyguard, Keita, to follow as they were done here before being led to the teleportation seal. Watching the man go first, he followed his lead and ended up back at the lobby of the tower. Following him, they had arrived back at the gates of Suna to where they had parted ways. Before he could leave, he had to return his visitation pass, which he did so happily. He originally came here with a different purpose in mind but after what transpired today, it is most likely not going to happen which only made him scoff. It was no huge loss however as it simply means he'd have to look elsewhere for the things he craves. With that, he proceeded through the gates of Suna in order to go back to his village.
