The owl named Pakuun flitted off her arm and landed on her desk with renewed energetic twittering energy, nearly tripping over his words as he thought them into her mind. “Point your index, middle and pinky out so your ring finger is pressed against your palm.” She did as she was instructed with her left hand and the metal claws unhooked instantly as one unraveled from her arm and was held out as if poised for attack. The chain felt alive and in rhythm with her heartbeat which was several paces above resting now.
