Quelling the Flames [Hunter, Mission]

Miu had spent most of her morning marveling at the destruction she had caused in such a short amount of time since arriving at the village hidden in the Mist. Despite her seemingly innocent face, she was truly a rebellious teen and found joy in utilizing her fire jutsu in arsonist ways. Being an Uchiha, fire was a natural affinity of hers and she did not intend to waste such a gift on being a servant to some major village and wasting her life doing the bidding of some old hag. No- she would use her god given gifts to stick it back to the man and cause mayhem.

 

A few blocks away from where the buildings she had already burned down once stood (100 meters from Kikuko’s current location and obscured by several buildings in between), a girl could be seen marveling at a modern building so tall that it appeared to be scrapping the sky. She was 5 foot 7 inches and had a slender build. Her skin complexion was fair, and her hair was jet black and reached down her back to her waist. She was clothed in a black skirt with long black leggings and a white button up shirt, fitted with a blazer on top.

 

“Time to create my next masterpiece! Take this you stupid elitist gerks.”

 

Miu would wait until the coast was clear so no one would see her committing the crime. She was rebellious- not stupid. Now standing 1 meter away from the front door of the building, Miu would form 1 hand seal (Tiger) and take a deep breath, kneading fire chakra within her chest. She would then exhale a thin cone of fire that would lurch outwards, catching the building and causing a fire to start. The fire would begin to crawl up the building slowly and Miu would take the chance to relocate to a more favorable location so that she could admire her work. Miu would then turn away from the building and walk 10 Meters away so that she could observe the fire without being put at risk in case the building collapsed.

Miu had been minding her business, standing 10 M away from the front door of the building as she watched the fire begin to creep up the building’s exterior. Her fun would be interrupted as a pesky shinobi would catch her off guard, creating two large walls (25 M wide and 5 M thick) directly to the right of Miu (5 M to the right) in a ‘V’ formation to corral her. The walls would rise from the ground, but due to their positioning, one of the walls would find itself about 15M into the same building that Miu had attempted to burn down, causing the building to begin to rumble and the integrity of the buildings support to begin to give way, signaling signs that building was beginning to collapse in on itself due to the damage caused by the fire and the large wall that was now ripping through it.

Alarmed civilians on the first floor within the building would begin exiting, however a large dark sphere would begin to materialize 5 meters in front of Miu near the buildings entrance, consuming her, and anyone who exited the building in a desperate attempt to escape the collapse.
 
Fortunately for Miu, she was a shinobi, and her vitality was stronger than that of a normal human, but unfortunately for the civilians exiting, they would succumb to an unpleasant experience brought on by the devouring spear. If Miu was not in the process of being banged up by the Mist shinobi’s Space-Time jutsu, she would commend her on her destructive nature and congratulate her on creating more destruction than she herself was capable of- in a much shorter time.
 
With no where else to go other than left where Kikuko was (15 M away now) and based on the 15M Radius Devouring spear that she was maintaining, Kikuko and her summon would find themselves just on the outside, if not touching, the same sphere that she had spawned. Due to the dark color of the sphere, there was no way for Kikuko to determine Miu’s current location due to her lack of a chakra seeing dojutsu, and Miu, unaware of this fact, would now formulate the Ram hand seal, and body flicker 20 Meters to the left of her current location, putting her just 5 Meters outside the sphere.
 
Upon arriving at her destination, she would be able to determine the source of all the destruction, a woman like herself. If she had not been trying to kill her, Miu may have tried to be friends with her, but she was now in a life or flight situation and she preferred to fight than run. Miu’s sharingan locked onto Miu who was 5M to her right and very close to the dark sphere that just did a number on her body and performed 2 hand seals at 75 speed. (Dragon – Hare). Upon completion, she would wave her right hand furiously 5 times, releasing 5 invisible blades of wind at waist height (5cm thick, 2M wide) towards her opponent in succession. Miu spread the blades out, releasing each blade 1M apart from each other so that they would effectively cover a 20M line of assault in an attempt to rip through her opponent.
 
Miu watched as the blades of wind would travel towards her opponent in hopes that it would strike her down so that she could flee before any other village shinobi could show up.

Kikuko would blanch as she realized the destruction she had caused, the crumbling of the building alerting her to the screams of civilians entrapped by the jutsu. She would curse under breath, staring hard at the inky darkness before her. Just a little bit longer, and she could go help them. She could do this. She might have messed up a little, but she could still make things right.


‘Kikuko! She’s moving towards her left rapidly!’ While the Kunoichi would be unable to confirm the current whereabouts of Miu while within the sphere, Gafas’ passive perception methods would be able to sense Miu forming the seal of confrontation and flicker. However, as Miu had flickered to her own left, she would appear five meters outside of the sphere, leaving her 5 meters away from Gafas’ location in the air. Having already prepared her hand seals beforehand, Gafas would release her technique at 65 speed and power, the needles traveling the 5m distance to strike Miu just as she emerged from the orb. Due to it being 5m away from the ending of Her Body Flicker, this would leave her completely defenseless as the needles pierced her flesh.


These ten needles would pierce her at various points of the body to hopefully be the proverbial nail in the coffin- four in the torso, two in each arm, and one in each leg. Being 1foot long and a half inch wide, this would undoubtedly hurt immensely, enough to render her unconscious. 


While this was happening, Kikuko would immediately dispel the sphere technique with a sound of chakra being sucked into a vortex before moving ten meters closer to Miu at 75 speed, maintaining a 15 meter distance between the two. Gafas would also retreat a similar ten meters higher into the air, keeping herself safe from trouble as she surveyed the situation with mounting worry.

Up to this point, Miu was under the impression that she was up against only one opponent so upon arriving at her destination and targeting the woman she perceived to be as the only assailant, her body would be pierced by several needless of air produced by a butterfly that was not currently on her radar. The needles would pierce her body in several locations and the only thing that Miu could feel was a sudden sharp pain. For a moment she stood in place, her eyes on the girl wondering what had just happened. Her eyes then flickered around, finally finding the butterfly that did her in. “You bastard…” She muttered. Next, she fell to her knees as blood was beginning to pour from the wounds inflicted and her eyes then diverted to the building before them that was now ready to go- just as she. Miu would struggle to raise a singular hand, pointing, not at Kikuko or Gafas, but the building. The building was now fully ablaze and Miu was happy that in her last moments she could lay eyes upon such a sight. There was a loud rumble and then the building collapsed on itself, a large portion of stone falling upon her body followed by additional debris, fully crushing her body.

Oh. Oh Kami. She had done it.


This hadn’t been her intention. But it had, hadn’t it? She had attacked this arsonist, the person threatening the village, with all of the fervor and tenacity as expected of her as a shinobi of Kirigakure. In doing so, she had proved her training had bloomed and helped her blossom into an expert practitioner of the arts that she so coveted.


And all it cost was one human life.


Gafas landed on her shoulder, fluttering gently as the building blazed before them. They would need to put it out, soon. Quickly, before those inside burned. And the girl. What had she seen in those last moments? Why were these flames giving up everything for? Did she have to die?


No. She didn’t. It was her fault she was dead.


“I’m...I’m sorry.”

The flames would crackle and burn. And with them, a part of Kikuko would surely burn as well.
