The flow of seasons

Yamato walked around the fairgrounds, the different stalls held various little trinkets, foods, and offered up some games for one and all.  He quickly found a place to grab something to drink, the stall offered various fresh, hot teas that were all spring themed and flavors that only accentuated the taste of spring.  He ordered a kettle of cherry ginseng oolong tea and sat at a table and took in the sights of people all dressed in similar garb all partaking in the events.  Soon the tea arrived and he would breathe the aroma in fully before thanking the attendant and pouring his cup. He sipped the tea while meditating on his journey so far.  He was happy with his growth, but still he felt as though he was dumb and not maturing fast enough.  He sighed with satisfaction and meditated there at his seat as people came and went while the day passed.  This was a time of reflection and breakthrough for him, he felt as if this event…getting to this place and being away from his usual stomping grounds allowed him to forget about his troubles for a while.  A smile crossed his face as he continued to drink the tea and enjoy the day.

After the tea break he took his time moving around the fairgrounds before finding a place to lay his head. It was a bunk tent set up for those that did not want to go to the village. He found out also that the main currency inside of the fairgrounds was made up of tickets and voucher cards…when he put the festival garb on he was happy to find that there was a small amount of tickets ready for his use…likely anyone that arrived in this place received the same patronage and he happily gave 5 tickets for a nights stay. It allowed him to keep 30 tickets after the deduction and he found a clean bunk to rest in. As soon as he laid down he noticed another peculiar thing in that a seal activated and he was given a private space…something that was likely for any that visited this place.

He slept without worry that night as his little “vacation” had started, and he was alone for the first time in a long while. He dreamed of the family he shared a home with, his missions in Hoshigakure, and his training…he would need to get back to it eventually but for now…it was nice to just have some…rest

The next day he took some time to wander through the fields, outside the tents…away from people.  He wanted to meditate in this chakra rich environment, so he found a spot where the grass was not too tall and the wind was not too fast and he breathed before taking a seat in the cool grass.  Warm rays of the sun bathed him and he was fascinated by the area…he could feel the nature energy swirling around him and he decided that this place was perfect.  He closed his eyes slowly as the chakra revealed itself to him, he could see it with his eyes closed as if he had been looking without any hindrance.

“Yes this is it, my cultivation speed can increase several times faster as long as I remain here.”  He said to himself as he began to take in the nature chakra, breathing slowly and feeling his body fill at an accelerated rate was completely new.  A satisfied sigh left his lips as he could foresee his body moving faster in this environment.  He wanted to jump up and begin shadow boxing, but he did no such thing as he was only a third of the way through his breathing exercises.

After meditating for some time out in the field. Yamato stood up, his expression was light and his body was primed with energy. Seeing as he had nothing better to do he began his shadow boxing workout, it was slow and methodical as he moved with purpose and calculated each move. From an onlookers perspective it would seem more like an artistic dance while to Yamato it was a way to continue to use the nature chakra to its fullest as he took it all in. He took sharp breaths before each strike, exhaling at the end with a small gust of wind every so often to keep his senses sharp and aware of his surroundings.

An hour of shadow boxing was good for the brain and gave some insight on matters that he could not see. He came to the conclusion that the dimension in which these fairgrounds occupy is attached to multiple pathways…hence the comings and goings of various people who…while seeming like they came from the same world…did not, some even had mystical abilities not seen in his own realm…he was beginning to wonder if he could even go home at this point. He knew that in order to figure out how this passage came to be or what was the “catch”…he would need to think on it heavily.

Soon there was a disturbance as someone else entered the field. They were not from anywhere he recognized so he tried not to put too much thought into it, but there was an aura about this person. If they wanted to cause problems they would even give Yamato a hard time. He gave a wide berth as he moved to exit the area, but he quickly found out that this character in question not only came here for the same thing as he did…but was looking for a spar.

Yamato was not ashamed of his willingness to withdraw so that he did not harm such a place but this other person had come ready. They launched a kick at the back of Yamato. The shinobi of the village hidden in stars was no slouch however and he quickly spun and countered with a simple downward slap. “This place is too nice for me to destroy using your face…stand down if you do not wish for your blood to be spilled.” Yamato warned the unidentified person but was given only a snarky smile in response. Yamato let out a war cry as the two charged at each other as a small fight would break out.

Yamato was quick, and despite the attackers best efforts the Hoshi shinobi was also better versed in combat. Using the terrain to his advantage Yamato the Senju arts to create wooden armor around him so he could fight easier. The one attacking him continued on, even going as far as to utilize their own chakra to summon forth a cane of earth. The two continued to fight in close quarters with neither side gaining a proper upper hand. Soon though the flaw in the attackers plan presented itself in the fact that he was fighting against a man that was now full of nature chakra. A soft exhale and the attacker charged with a killing intent in his eyes, yelling loudly at Yamato.

Yamato took the hit with the cane before bringing his hand to the throat of his attacker, lifting him up before slamming him down on the flat of his back, knocking the air out of him as spittle was released from the mystery assaulter. “It is unfortunate that you decided to come and attack me after I had a chance to meditate…had you waited or been a little more smooth…you might have been able to get a leg up on me.” He said before knocking the attacker out. After the fight was over he took his winnings…5 tickets from the man.

With his new tickets in hand he took his leave for the fairgrounds when there was already a new tent being erected near the edge of the area that was already built.  More arrivals no doubt as he used some tickets to get some information from an informant inside the fairgrounds.  He was now privy that there are some forces that have been here long since the explosion of the great volcano in his world…some even traversing often from across many dimensions on a pleasure cruise to see what they can do or find here in the fairgrounds.  The removal of foreign weapons and armor only made things easier for everyone to start out, but there were “ticket hunters” or people that wanted to remain in the fairgrounds as long as possible…the way home is actually running out of tickets and that made things easier for Yamato since he was down to his last ten tickets…soon he would have to return home unless he came into some more tickets.  What he did though with taking some tickets but not all tickets was actually seen as both mercy…and as prudent slap to one’s face here…a taboo really…Yamato did not send the individual on their way and let them go free…they could continue doing this to others…Yamato was going to have to do something about this.

The mysterious man was not hard to track down coincidentally…Jaque Lastrad was his name and he was a known ticket hunter…it seems he had made a full recovery from the beating he took and was now on the lookout for Yamato.  Seeing as this could lead to further issues, Yamato was quick to also find him as well.  The sun was moving its way over the horizon and Jaque had found himself a few tickets to make up for his loss already, but as he moved to a tent, the larger one erected earlier that day…it was easy to tell that it was just a set up for Yamato to follow him into and so he could get his revenge.  

Yamato took the bait and was already at peace with himself as he entered the tent, except…one thing was blatantly obvious…Jaque was not alone, and as soon as he entered the tent the entrance was closed off as a group of rather…trivial looking people surrounded him and brandished their weapons.  “So I am guessing the lot of you is going to split up five tickets then right?  Didn’t you know that those won’t go long and there is more than five of you here.  So how about we just skip all of this and get down to it?”  He said and a sadistic smile crept up on his lips.

Yamato led with a kick, a forward facing kick as he lifted himself off of the ground before turning and grabbing the small blade the one behind him attempted to cut him with.  His breathing was slow and steady as he moved with purpose, not wasting any time before kicking the initial attacker and sending him back a few yards so that Yamato could focus on other threats.  He was quickly attacked as he took a punch to his back by one man, he rolled forward before twisting his body to throw the blade at the first person he saw.  He had no intention of killing anyone there, but he was not going to let this fly, and once the blade hit the person in question and Yamato was back on his feet he blocked two attacks from two people before performing the shadow clone technique and putting forth the bare minimum of effort to finally strike the attackers in such a way that they would all fall to the ground, the blades of grass were sometimes tinged by their carelessness, but otherwise they were all alive with no life threatening injury.  Yamato went to each of the downed foes and took their tickets, leaving with a rather hefty sum.
