It was another cloudy day in the mountains of Lightning Country. A young inexperienced shinobi had taken up a peculiar mission to retrieve a client's purse from a rogue vulture. That shinobi was Saturn, a crafty young man with a foolproof plan. After hours of hiking barefoot, Saturn Sarutobi-Senju Yamanaka was at the foot of a large tree, his eyes fixed on the glistening metallic lustre of his client's purse, stored away in a vulture's nest on a branch about five meters from the ground. A curious adult vulture peered down at the human threat from its nest. It was time.
Saturn took off his backpack and placed it at the base of the trunk of the tree in front of him. He did not plan to waste any movements in his execution of his plan. Looking up at the curious vulture, he cracked his knuckles and fixed his gaze on his target. Placing his hands together, he quickly formed the hand seals he would require for his special technique. Tiger, Snake, Horse, and finally, the signature hand seal of the Yamanaka clan in the shape of a heart aimed at the direction of the cawing vulture. In the blink of an eye, Saturn's eyes rolled back into his skull and his lean nimble body bent at the knees, falling head first into the carefully planted backpack in front of him.
Above ground, the vulture's third eyelid would close to blink, and when it retracted, the vulture's pupils would be white. It was possessed. In its sight - now Saturn's sight - an influx of ultraviolet light, a spectrum invisible to the human eye would aid in detecting the shimmering metal of the buckle on the purse in question. The foreign sensations employed by the vulture's sensory system to navigate the world would baffle Saturn. It was not his first time transferring his mind into a bird's body, but the sensations amazed him every time. Soaking in the world around his new body, he was stunned by a crippling sensation of hunger. Unable to think beyond the need for satiating his newfound hunger, his sharp eyesight scouted the area for food. Below, he saw his own immobilised body - momentarily unable to even recognise it. Vultures have always had a reputation for being scavengers. Untrained, he would have dove straight down and started feeding on his own body. However, Saturn was familiar enough with the technique to recognise his own body even with his borrowed senses. Seeing a medium sized lizard sitting idle on the trunk of the tree, the possessed vulture instinctively pecked at its neck, snapping it immediately, before chomping down on the scrumptious snack. Delicious... Saturn thought to himself. Now.. Why am I really here.... Oh yeah, the purse!
Just as Saturn reached to grab the purse with his talon, he would be stopped in his tracks when he noticed a thick, twenty foot long python coiled around the branch of his nest, preparing to pounce. I could die.. He thought to himself, faced with his new sobering reality. Just as the python pounced, Saturn used his wings to lift himself up a few inches to delay the strike, and by a stroke of luck, struck the purse with his talon, knocking it out of the nest. In the nick of time, Saturn released his hold on the bird's body, and returned to his own to see the purse drop right into his open backpack as he got up. Above, the final cry of the vulture's horrified shriek echoed into the hill as its feathers scattered in the air. Welp.. Close call..
