Ever since Yusuke had gotten back into the daily swing of being a genin, he had discovered he wasn't quite as energetic as he thought. Running around the village were a bunch of kids brimming with potential, and meanwhile he was a full grown genin. It was embarrassing to him, as a man he took it like a deep cut. Yusuke was eager to get ahead, and on this fine autumnal morning he raced with his companion, Rudi, to the mission office in Hoshigakure. 

The tree leaves were just turning brown and yellow and the rush of colors swept by Yusuke as he ran on all fours to the headquarters of the Hogokage. Usually there were low ranked missions pinned to a board, and Yusuke was more than eager to take one on. Rudi was racing him neck and neck, the big black dog running freely with his tongue hanging out. The two were having fun and the day had barely just begun. 

Yusuke assumed his two feet when him and Rudi entered the mission office. Someone at the front desk recognized the elder genun and pointed him to the mission board. Yusuke tried not to feel slighted by how he stuck out, especially considering he had thick furry arms. He was a little self conscience though, and quietly walked with Rudi to read what's on the board. 

Reading straight from the posted notes, Yusuke spoke aloud to Rudi. Eventually they decided they could take care of a missing cat pretty easily, and sniffed their way out of the office. After a half an hour walk Yusuke and Rudi made it to the manor of Ms. Hapu. An elderly woman who had lost her cat for going on three days now, and boy did Yusuke hear about it. 

The woman said she looked all over the inside of the manor, so she suspected the cat ran off into the apple orchard behind the manor. Yusuke sighed, and asked for a piece of fabric the cat sat on. He took the precious cats cotton bed and shoved it straight into his face, inhaling deeply thru his nose. The pungent Odor of feline shook Yusuke's brain, but he knew what Princess smelled like now, and the old woman was right. The cat had gone outside, and Yusuke set off to find it. 

For a good hour Yusuke hopped from tree to tree, sniffing deeply to track the cat. In his minds eye the scent had a bright green hue, and he could see where to go. Rudi followed him, and knew his master had this mission by the bag. Yusuke was incredibly fast for a muscle bound man, and when him and Rudi found the cat Yusuke put a finger up. 

"Stop. Is what Rudi signed to his dog, and then leapt forward. The cat scrambled and as he ran to the east Rudi was there to catch him. The giant dog grabbed the little cat by the nape of its neck. Holding her ever so gently Rudi followed Yusuke out of the apple orchard and back to Ms. Hapu's manor. 

When they arrived she scolded Rudi for manhandling her cat, and squeezed the ever loving life out of the cat. Rudi saw why it had tried to make his escape, but didn't say anything about it. Instead he apologized and assured the woman the cat was safe. 

With the mission completed the pair walked back to the mission board to retrieve their reward. The pay was little but Yusuke didn't mind, he had a small fortune in gold and this day to day work wasn't meant to live on. Yusuke was aiming to become a chuunin, and this menial labor was part of it. Yusuke was proud of his work, and smiled off into the sunset as he completed the day's work. Rudi followed him, tail wagging happily as he trotted softly behind his master.
