A corporate gamble

The man in black took notice of Codex as it approached, and he watched as Kira left the table.  He took note of the "out for lunch" sign on Codex's stall before returning his attention to the construct - remaining silent as the construct stood next to him, waiting patiently to be addressed.

When the man placed a black card on the table, Codex's sensors perhaps would detect a subtle shift in the energy around the man. The card seemed to hold some power or significance.  "May I help you?" the man asked, calm and composed. The man waited to see if the synth could discern its true purpose or meaning.

Looking at the card and the subtle shift in the air around the man codex blanched a little, it was not one for display's of emotion, it was after all a construct who's purpose was almost entirely dependant upon logic, but this was one of those rare cases where logic dictated such a response, though to those around it may seem the construct simply nodded any with the skill to do so would see the slight unease in it's actions, the sense of a big fish who had only just discovered it was swimming in a school of sharks; taking a more defferent stance it glanced at the card for a moment before speaking, "Does the accountant wish to open an account?" it asked, the knowledge impicit in that question enough to make its purpose clear, if the gentleman indicated his agreement the simulacrum would nodd again before continuing "and the name for said account?" Assuming an appropriate answer was given it would quicky proffer a card, a simple playing card though one from a rather special deck of cards, ready to be exchanged to the payment for services to be rendered

The man in black nodded confirmation at Codex's question before replying with a name for the account "Defiled Doll." and the amount to be placed in "One hundred legacy kunai," The construct noted the name. It quickly produced a playing card from its unique deck, with markings and symbols the man recognized.

"Thank you for your services," the man said, reaching out to take the card from Codex's hand. He examined it closely for a moment before slipping it into his pocket.  Moments later, a small box was delivered to the table.  The man opened the box, revealing a stack of unmarked bills and a few valuable-looking items. He counted everything before, nodding in satisfaction. He then picked up one of the items, a small kunai, and examined it closely. After a moment, he placed it back in the box and closed the lid.

 "I trust our transactions will be smooth from here on out." With that, the man in black stood up from the table and made his way out of the casino; his presence faded into the distance as he disappeared into the crowded city streets. The construct was left to stand there momentarily, processing the events that had just occurred.
