F**k this shit i'm out

The people of tanbogakure had had enough; all across the village shinobi and civilains alike looked on as yet another unjustified and absurd attack on the village occured, and almost as if they all came to the conclusion at the same time they, each and every one of them down to the last man woman and child (with the exception of any individual who was not a npc) decided that they would rather die than live in this world, and so hundreds of them committed suicide, some death by poison; others death by burning as they burnt everything they owned to the ground rather than hand it over to an invader, yet more still took a faster more brutal death, jumping from rooftops or stabbing themselves, and it all happened just as codex itself took its leave, collecting up any and all records of the village that were not bound in some obscure and absurd limbo by arcane rules it was unable to interact with. Everything else not taken or protected by those rules was burnt to the ground in the ensuing fires even as codex flickered out of existance, teleporting to an undisclosed location using a fraction of its creators power.

Approved of teleportation of Codex outside the village, with the caveat that they teleport to an accessible location they have visited before. Codex swapped their specialties and claimed a teleportation technique here.

However, on the grounds of heavily blurring the line between IC and OOC alone, the scorched earth method cannot go through. Furthermore, even if you escape with teleportation outside of the Village Exit topic, a valid method in the current landscape, deserting your village during such time still brands you as a Missing Nin status. A missing-nin who does not have the jurisdiction to make such a fundamental against their as of now former village's infrastructure. Let alone the fact that Codex was not the Kage; Rin Togokawa was who unfortunately exited the mortal realm.

This is perfectly reasonable for the village to do; firstly codex was deputy kage at the time; if you choose to rule that immediately upon rin’s death that character looses all rights to npcing the village then such rights would pass to codex as the deputy kage. Secondly there are numerous instances in real life of groups of individuals committing acts of mass suicide in situations where they feel they have no other option; as shown by the repeated attacks on the village that is a headspace the village would be in right now; thirdly destroying any and all documents the village might be keeping whilst a ‘scorched earth tactic” is a valid move within irl military situations.

This is not real life, nor military, and all rulings during topics are examined within the realms of the gameplay.  Furthermore, I'd ask that you avoid repeatedly mentioning and casually analyzing triggering topics like suicide. NRPG is not the platform for that.
