It had been so long since she had set foot back into the village. The wind pushing along her hair, she had cleaned herself up after the events of the fight to reclaim the Wolves Den. The borders would be much safer with those that could guard it. However she wanted to return home, back to where she could check in on Lloyd Hyuga. Perhaps he was alright, maybe he had even gotten better during the time in which she was away. That’s what she hoped. The scarred woman walked towards the gates, only equipped with her Devils Bo-Staff and skin tight bodysuit that covered her entire body besides her head and fingers and toes. Brown combat boots covering her scarred toes. She felt the small chill of the fall weather. Yet it gave her some semblance of feeling after being gone for so long.

“I request re-entry into Hoshigakure! My name is Ryumi Hiyu! I come back from reclaiming the Wolves Den!”

She shouted towards the guards, her Hoshi headband wrapped around her shoulder. Ryumi’s confident smile towards the guards, and that they seemed to have some knowledge of who she was seemed to be good enough. However someone who had some connections within the village would be the one to let her in. The wind continued to send those small chills down her spine. She wasn’t prone to any kind of attack, instead simply waiting for someone to come and let her back into Hoshigakure.

Requesting entry into Hoshigakure

Masashi’s first shift on gate guard duty. Not the most illustrious of tasks, but a necessary one. The village had to be protected and he would do the job assigned to him to the best of his abilities as any other member of the village would. He got up as normal, ate the breakfast that his butler had put out for him, and finished getting cleaned up and dressed. He would make his way from his manor in the Water Gardens to the main gate to take up his post.

The first little bit of the day went by uneventfully. Villagers and traders passing back and forth, stopping to be examined when necessary. Nothing that caused any trouble. A lone figure eventually walked up to the gate and announced themselves as Ryumi Hiyu, returning to the village after reclaiming the Wolves’ Den. Not someone Masashi was familiar with, Ryumi appeared to be a young woman with long black hair and very well-developed musculature for one as young as she. If the Doctor didn’t know any better, he'd swear that she specialized in some form of combat that involved taijutsu. Masashi would smile at Ryumi and pass her through with a hand gesture. “Welcome home. You’re free to enter.”

Ryumi’s smirk only increased as she had seen someone inspect her when she was standing there. Her hands on her hips, eyes focused on the gate and on the particular gate guard that was up there. Yet with a wave of his hand, she was allowed to enter into the walls of Hoshigakure once again. A warm feeling entered her chest at the thought that she could see everyone again. She had been so busy, there wouldn’t be a chance like no other to show everyone just how strong she had gotten during her time inside of the Wolves den. With a small nod, she’d begin to walk towards the village that she would call home. A few villagers were unsure of who the woman was, while others recognized her as the brazen Genin who had shouted to the rooftops towards Enishi Kurosawa to not give up the fight.

It was good to be home once again.

Entering into Village.

The newcomer’s smile widened as she was granted entry back into the village. ‘She’d must have been gone a while to be this excited about being back.’ Masashi thought to himself with a smirk as the girl nodded to him and proceeded to walk through the gate into the village proper. It was nice to see such energy and enthusiasm in the newer generations of Hoshigakure shinobi. It only further cemented his upcoming decisions. He was getting older, and he wasn’t sure he would be able to keep up his skills to the level that would be expected of an active-duty shinobi. Perhaps it was time to retire from active service and look to assisting in another area. He would need to have a chat with Ayato, and sooner rather than later, because it’s not like he would be getting any younger.

With a smile on his face, Masashi would continue the rest of his shift at the gates, checking entering and exiting people to make sure that all laws were being followed. He would be happy to report that there were no incidents during his shift. He wrote up a report, left a copy at the gate with his replacement, and took a copy of the report to the mission dispatchers at the Unseen University so that the information could be filed as was standard procedure. While he was there, he submitted a request to see the Hogokage at his earliest convenience. With that completed, the Uzumaki Jounin would make his way home. His Butler welcomed him home and advised him that dinner was waiting for him in the dining room as usual. Masashi thanked the man and proceeded to enjoy a light dinner before retiring to his room for the night to enjoy a good book before bed.
