Things had evolved at a rapid pace. Joski wasn't sure when, but at some point during the elongated explanation and portrayal of their purpose, Joski had opened his mouth to respond but the words died before they could reach his tongue. Before he could summon a thought against the torrent of conviction, he had carved a path of whimsical carnage amidst the many beasts that formed from the dreams of old and young alike. Despite the chaos, Joski would find himself sinking deeper into consideration for the notions being presented. They seemed scattered. Unfocused. But ambitious and genuine. Notions that were not lost on the traveler, but often left on the wayside of his travels; an idealistic vista of a mountain pass that was beautiful to observe from afar but daunting to climb himself.

His thoughts would be dragged from him, however, as a pairing of himself would appear. Just like the others, another form of himself had approached them. This shadow looked much the same as him, but instead of the black and white etchings that crisscrossed his figure, there was a brilliant unfurling of color that seemed to unfold and unfold again in an infinite spiral of uncertainty and chaos. It was beautiful but erratic. Uncertain. A tempest of emotion. The figure approached him as the others met with their own, a voice reaching out into his mind that seemed to drown out the others and their efforts giving him a singular focus.

"So many frilly words. So many soft sentiments. That's not the voice of a survivor, is it Jirou?" The figure would say, lazily making an approach towards Joski. For a time, the traveler did not respond, simply watching that impression of himself with that starry blur in his eyes. "Those are the words of a martyr. A dangerous sort. Someone who will gather others to their sacrificial cause- sure, it sounds good and sweet, but what happens when you are left laying in a ditch with your own blood choking you?" It would continue, a swagger and sway to its steps like it had not a care in the world.

The eyes of the traveler would turn to Marabelle as she continued to espouse her truths. A grand vision of bringing peace, and seeking others to do the same. "It's not so bad to chase a dream," he would reply, their thoughts connected and nothing need be said aloud. "I had a dream once."

"And you left it behind, didn't you? Because you knew it was going to slow you down. Because you knew it would only lead to pain if you caught it. What makes this any different? And above all else, why would YOU put your neck on the line for someone else in the first place? Even your brothers don't need you. So why get soft now? Tired of living?" The voice would continue to taunt. Joski could feel the weight of his own doubt sitting behind those words; even if he didn't phrase it like that, this being was putting a voice to his own doubts. His own considerations. A deep- if ugly- truth. Yet still, Joski would keep his eyes on the woman as she soundly defeated her double, and a new foe began to rise. She stood stout, yet felt tall in that moment. Her conviction surrounded her in the ethereal gaze of his life sense. "Ugh, and she won't shut up. Isn't she annoying? Don't you just wish she would shut up already?"

The eyes of the traveler would turn as yet another joined. An unknown face with snowy white hair swooped low and collided with the hulking beast that had formed. By now, the chaotic ribbons of color would be standing next to Joski, the two of them stuffing their hands in their pockets as they quietly observed. For a time, Joski would simply do just that. Observe. Like he always had. A decision being made, the dust of life force began to swirl around the pair. "No," he would ultimately reply, a hand slowly lifting to motion toward the massive beast. "No, I don't think so. I think, perhaps, she might be right. Maybe."

"Are you willing to put your life on it?" The voice would return, its form beginning to distort as the two shadows of Joski began to blur into one. A brilliant whirlwind of sharp shades and colorful lashes would begin to whirl about the two as Joski took his fight in another direction. He would absorb this doubt. He would not reject these inner thoughts, but conquer them. He had always chosen to run, but if nothing else, he now chose to confront his own doubts. A violent burst would flow from the hemisphere of the whirlwind created by the man as he spoke aloud for the first time in several minutes.

"I believe in you. It's up to you now. Find me when this is over." There was no waiting for a reply as the man closed his fist and, in an instant, the air that had been expelled rushed back into the implosion of color and silence as the pair of travelers were violently shunted together, vanishing. At the moment of their disappearance, a massive hole would be seen forming in the monstrous being like a boulder had been punched right through it. Between the strike of the other two and the newly formed wound of the beast, it was sent reeling, prepared to be finished by the one who remained. The one who had called them all together to begin with, and the one that would call them forward once the dust had settled.

It was all up to her now.
